Dealing with health issues, Nicole Richie has reportedly been hospitalized with pneumonia.
The former “Simple Life” star checked herself into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after developing symptoms for the illness.
The latest reports indicate that Miss richie is responding well to medical treatment.
Her representative tells Us magazine, “Nicole has checked into Cedars-Sinai where she is being treated for pneumonia. She is doing well.”

She’s always radiated a healthy self confidence, so it comes as no surprise that Heidi Klum will proudly show off her post pregnancy curves as host of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The mother of four is looking forward to being a part of the annual event, even if her body isn’t runway ready. She told press, “I’m definitely one of the heaviest of the bunch of the 30 girls in the show. And I still have 20 lbs. to go. But why not? I like my outfit. I like the way it looks on me.”
Ms Klum also admits, “You definitely have less pressure hosting, when you don’t shake your booty in front of millions of people around the world.”
As far as losing the baby weight, the “Project Runway” babe says she does not have a master plan, but does have a trainer come to her house in LA. Klum has been walking and using a medicine ball as well, but knows not to overdo it.

While many of the people who worked with Michael Jackson on his "This Is Is" concerts expressed surprise at his struggles with drug addiction, sister Janet Jackson told ABC News that she and her family were well aware of her brother's demons.
In fact, Jackson said that she and her family reached out several times over the years to confront Michael about his drug problem and stage interventions, to no avail. "That's what you do," she told interviewer Robin Roberts in a sit-down in which she also blamed Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, for the singer's death. "Those are the things that you do when you love someone. You can't just let them continue on that way. And we did a few times. We weren't very successful."
The youngest Jackson sibling said Michael, to whom she was very close, understood that his family was trying to help him, but that he was "possibly" in denial about the extent of his problems. "I wish he could answer this question for you and not me," she said. "I felt that he was in denial."
A coroner's report found that Jackson died of a lethal amount of the powerful surgical anesthetic propofol, a drug he reportedly used to combat his chronic insomnia and which Murray has told police he administered to Jackson several times on the morning of the singer's death. Jackson told Roberts she thought Murray was responsible for her brother's death.
"You can't make 'em drink the water," Janet tells Roberts about forcing someone to face their addictions. "It's something that you can't do for them, something they have to do for themselves." Janet also revealed in the interview that she learned first-hand what the ravages of addiction can do during her first marriage to James DeBarge, who has admitted a prescription medication dependency. After eloping with the singer, Jackson said their marriage fell apart after three months due to DeBarge's addiction.

Here is Kristen Stewart on the Today Show this morning, promoting New Moon. Meredith Viera says that Kristen is ?under the weather? for the interview, and she seems it. Kristen is kind of hunched over and her voice sounds raspy. Of course, it could just be that she?s jet-lagged, tired, and it?s really f-cking early in the morning. Plus, they made Kristen do the gauntlet of crazy interviews, and she?s sitting there with Viera, Matt Lauer, Ann Curry and Al Roker. You?d think that Kristen wouldn?t be able to get a word in edgewise, but there?s an eerie silence in the studio when she speaks.
I do have to give her credit, though. Kristen has learned how to be gracious in interviews, even when she?s asked uncomfortable questions. When asked about what it?s like for her being in such a huge series, Kristen jokes: “I’m usually in movies people don’t see?this is once-in-a-lifetime. We make movies for people. I’ll never have this.” She also gives a pretty good explanation for why the werewolves are always shirtless: ?They have a good reason. They run at 109 degrees… When they turn, their clothes fall off. It’s not just because they look good with their shirts off!” The Today people didn?t ask her the usual litany of questions about Robert Pattinson. Thank God.
Kristen has one more interesting quote from Reuters: “Bella has a lot of really innate female qualities. For a character in literature, I think it’s awesome that so many girls can look up to her, because she’s fickle and unabashedly (so).” How girly. How unlike Kristen.

I hope I?m not alone in loving Amanda Peet. She?s been one of my girl crushes for years, solidified by her overlooked performance in the now tragically cancelled television show Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip. She and Bradley Whitford had so much chemistry together! I was looking forward to seeing where they?re relationship was going.
Despite my laments, Peet has never really broken into Hollywood in a big way. I still have hopes that someone will see the light and hire her for the role of Stephanie Plum, based on the book-to-screen adaptations of Janet Evanovich?s books. Amanda would be an excellent Stephanie - she looks the part exactly. But instead she?s stuck playing ?the girl? in a big ugly disaster movie, 2012. Which is what she?s promoting with this Self Magazine cover story:
Amanda Peet is currently starring in a blockbuster movie (2010), has a talented husband (screenwriter David Benioff), an adorable daughter, and looks that land her on the cover of magazines.
So what more could she want?
“I want boobs, a gentle six-pack and a perky butt,” the actress, 37, tells the December issue of Self.
In fact, she even has a specific woman’s figure in mind. “If I could choose an ideal body, I?d take Gisele Bndchen?s,” says Peet. “I challenge anyone to say she wouldn?t want Gisele?s body, deep down.”
She then adds, “Actually, I?d take a number of people?s bodies. I?d take Jennifer Aniston?s, too.”
Still, when it comes to her keeping herself in shape, Peet doesn’t obsess. “To me staying healthy means doing everything in moderation,” she tells the magazine. “Eat a lot of greens, but in moderation. Exercise, but in moderation. Drink wine, but in moderation. Sleep as much as you can. And have people around you who are very funny.”
Peet gets plenty of laughs during date nights with Benioff. Typically, the pair stay home, order in food, and watch TV shows including South Park, Seinfeld, and The New Adventures of Old Christine.
“I?m obsessed with Julia Louis-Dreyfus,” she admits. “If she knew how much she was in my household late at night or in the wee hours of the morning, she might be disturbed! David and I both have a crush on her.”

I?d take Gisele?s body too - she has the kind of figure where you know most of it is genetic. My only qualm about Jennifer?s body (not referencing that Megan Fox movie) is that Jennifer seems to really have to work at it through lots of exercise and the neverending Zone diet. Gisele looks like she still eats hot dogs and corn chips.
Amanda also discussed parenting her gorgeous, adorable daughter Frankie, saying: ??You have to put your oxygen mask before you put on others?. It?s a good metaphor for parenting, but it?s really hard to do sometimes. A lot of women feel that if they?re exerting energy in different areas of their life or are really passionate about other things, it?s automatically detrimental to the child.? What?s the best way to cap off an evening with a big party thrown in honor of your new hair appliance? Well if you?re Paris Hilton, it?s with loud drunken fighting and a few calls to the cops. Naturally.
Paris had a big shindig at the Thompson Hotel in Los Angeles, all as part of her over-the-top promotion for her new combination flat iron/curling iron/brush, the Celebrity Styler. Yes, we?re excited about it too. As is fitting only Paris, the whole night was about her. Everything was pink. She debuted her new commercials. And thank goodness, she didn?t let little sister Nicky?s fender bender steal any of her thunder.
Paris Hilton has taken over the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel tonight…literally. In true Hilton style, the roof is decked out in pink, from the lighting to the bubbly, and the entire wall of the building is projecting commercials for her latest venture (and the reason for the party): the Celebrity Styler, a curling iron/brush/flatiron.
? At 7:36, the guest of honor arrives with boy-toy Doug Reinhardt in tow. The couple takes a few quick photos before Doug bows out for P’s solo shots. Then it’s time for pics with her parents. Kathy [Hilton] is loving the cameras?like mother, like daughter?until a reporter informs her that daughter Nicky was in a minor fender bender…
?Doug, clad in a lavender shirt picked out by Paris, says wedding bells aren’t ringing just yet. Despite rumors, the two aren’t engaged, but he assures me it’s definitely looking “long term.” Then I ask about rumors that Paris may be jealous of her former friend Kim Kardashian. “Just look at her,” he says, gesturing toward his hot Pink girlfriend. “She’s not jealous of anyone.”
Nicky arrives unharmed and sashays around the pool. Guests grub on lobster tacos, spicy tuna rolls and steak and chicken skewers as Paris takes over the mic to thank guests for coming and to debut her new commercials. There’s no table dancing or PDA sessions tonight for the former party girl. She calls it an early night, and all partygoers get gift bags with the Styler and brush. Score!

So how do Paris and Doug cap off such a lovely evening? One of their epic fights. I love how Doug is always talking about how serious and long term they are (despite a reasonably long breakup a while ago), and yet this isn’t their first police-worthy argument.
Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt got into an epic fight early this morning … so much so the LAPD responded to a call — “Drunk people arguing” — this, according to law enforcement sources. It happened a few hours ago in the Hollywood Hills. An eyewitness tells us he saw Paris in her driveway and Doug getting in his car, when Paris began screaming, “Don’t go, don’t go!”
The eyewitness tells us Doug got out of the car and the lovebirds began “shoving each other.” The last the eyewitness saw Paris and Doug go back up the driveway. According to law enforcement, cops spoke to Paris and left.

I love it. “Don’t go, don’t go!… I wanna keep screaming and shoving you!? What morons. Paris is getting extremely desperate. Though she?s always been reported to be rude and self-centered and really only negative adjectives, I can?t remember any stories of her having police show up because of domestic fights. That seems to be unique to Paris and Doug. And he?s a total do-nothing nobody. Why is she so desperate to stay with the guy? Because he lets her dress him up like one of her toy poodles, that?s why. Paris is hard to have any empathy for, but she should find someone else. There are desperate guys with low standards all over the country; I?m sure she could find a relationship that?s a little less toxic.

I have been tracking the braless trend and it makes a lot of sense if you have perky breasts. I have seen the trend in many forms, but generally it means that you just don't wear a bra and let it all hang out. That does not mean that it is all great. For instance, Lindsay Lohan or Anneliese Louis van der Pol or Rumer Willis were disasters.
On the other hand, Britney Spears or Lilly Allen or Eva Mendes were awesome dressing without a bra.
Now Blake Lively takes it one step farther by even abandoning the shirt and simply wearing a jacket. Hmmm...sounds like a great way to save money.

Heather Locklear blew into Melrose Place this week in a revival of her supremely bitchy character Amanda Woodward. She stole every scene she was in, and proved a formidable opponent to the main career woman on the block, Ella Sims, played by Katie Cassidy. Locklear plays Cassidy’s ruthless boss, and she makes the superficial Cassidy look angelic in comparison. I’m really enjoying the new Melrose and Locklear just improved it. Add in the fact that Ashlee Simpson is about to leave and it can only get better. Wow?Amanda Woodward is back and it already feels like Melrose Place has been elevated to another level. This was certainly the reboot?s sharpest, sexiest and bitchiest episode, which I obviously mean as a compliment. Bravo, Heather Locklear, you still know how to rock a mini-skirt and infuse any scene with crackling energy.
Amanda revealed herself as the ?W? in PR firm WPK, which is of course Ella?s employer. Amanda, who had been living in New York, swept through the L.A. office with swift firings (casualties included Ella?s boss Caleb) and some sassy talk. ?This L.A. branch is drowning in red like a steer in a slaughter house. Now when I hired you to give this place a makeover, I didn?t mean smear it with lipstick and turn it into a five-dollar hooker. This office is pathetic,? Amanda announced with her jaw-dropping entrance.
Amanda had plenty of zingers ? after Ella came into her office gushing about how Amanda?s profile in Vanity Fair had inspired her career in PR ? the boss cut her off quickly: ?Shockingly, I didn?t call you in for your life?s story, but your absentee father and pill-popping mother make for a very juicy tale.? She then told Ella to force Riley to sell the press on a fake bio to make the Anton V Real People jeans ads more interesting. Ella protested at first but Amanda put her in her place: ?If you have a problem there?s a long list of eager assistants willing to take your place.?
I loved the Ella-Amanda sparks already and think they?ll only get better in time as Ella feels strong enough to stand up to Amanda more. Back in the Melrose 1.0 years, Amanda taking down Allison was like watching a cheetah pounce on a helpless wounded bird. At least in Ella, she has ? or will have ? a worthy sparring partner.

I’ll keep watching this trashy show full of lots of eye candy and intrigue. There were more twists in the murder mystery this week and we’re still not much closer to finding out the culprit. I don’t really care about that part of the plot so much though and primarily watch for the sex and cattiness. Heather Locklear still brings it to the small screen.

For all of the beef 50 cent seems to find himself in, the guy actually has a pretty acute sense of humor. Those looking for proof need only watch his appearance on Tuesday night's episode of "The Tonight Show," in which 50 goofed around amiably with host Conan O'Brien for the better part of 10 minutes.
O'Brien touched on a number of topics, some more sensitive than others. He began by asking 50 about a photo snapped of him with his arm around Bette Midler. The two collaborated on restoring a park in 50's old neighborhood, and the rapper joked that he knew he had arrived at another level of fame when he had his picture taken with the veteran diva.
"I thought I was hot before I took that picture, but when my grandmother saw that, it was a different kind of energy," he said. "She was like, 'Baby, you made it! Do you know who that is?' "
The pair also talked about his most recent beef. Not the one with Jay-Z, but rather the one with a kid from Canada who posted a YouTube video calling the rapper a "media whore." Fif also explained his still-for-sale house in Connecticut (which features 13 bedrooms, a night club and a grotto) as well as a failed line of condoms and his new fragrance. "This is the smell of success right here," he explained. "People thought it would smell more like gunpowder, but we made some changes!"
After talking about his new album Before I Self Destruct (O'Brien offered to help track down the person responsible for leaking it), 50 disappeared for a segment before coming back to perform his latest single "Baby by Me."

And although Biel gets to play at least the voice of a strong willed, moralistic teenager in ?Planet 51,? she’s sick of the fact that there are pretty much no roles in Hollywood flicks that portray women in a strong, positive light and that can appeal to the whole family.
?It seems a lot of the time it is playing second fiddle to a male character which is never a bad thing, but where are the roles for the female experience from that (strong, admirable) point of view for the young college girls, mothers and grandmothers? A lot of actresses I speak to find the same thing,? she added. ?We’re all scrambling for it when something good comes out that actually has a good female character.?

Okay, here?s the thing: I know that when a celebrity or actress isn?t getting hired for anything, she?s supposed to go out to red carpets and give lots of interviews, all in an attempt to get her name out there and force producers to take notice. My problem with Jessica Biel is that when she does it, she always sounds so arrogant and delusional. I mean, she did a minor musical (Guys and Dolls) in Los Angeles, and suddenly it?s like in her mind, she?s the second coming of Julie Andrews. When she talks about her ideal roles, she doesn?t say ?Oh, I love to be in the Twilight movies, that would be so cool!? Instead, she gets on her high horse and says crap like ?Well, I?m clearly familiar with the films. I haven?t read the books, but I haven?t seen any of the films yet so I?m not that familiar ? I know the idea of what it?s about. I mean, maybe [I'd be in the next Twilight film]. That would be lovely. I am not opposed to playing a vampire.? I?ll give her credit for not being riddled with insecurity, like so many celebrities - but I think Jessica?s problem is that she thinks she?s God?s gift. And she?s not.

Sandra Bullock has spent much of the year being a hot mess on various red carpets. No, actually, she was just a wreck on one red carpet, but once was bad enough. So it?s nice to see Sandra pull it together for the premiere of The Blind Side, which comes out this Friday. Look at her, she got it right! Good dress, good hair, maybe the earrings are a little too big, but I?ll accept them. Great shoes, and most importantly, Sandra?s not standing like a truck driver! Hurray!
The Blind Side is getting solid reviews, with many critics singling out Sandra?s portrayal of the very real Leigh Anne Tuohy, who adopted a homeless kid, who later became a star football player. Here?s Us Weekly?s review of the film:

While the drama?s script is a little formulaic (yes, Oher helps his team win the big game and, yes, joining the Tuohy family helps him get his life together), its message still inspires.

Meanwhile, it was just announced that Taylor has signed a deal to create a line of greeting cards for American Greetings Corp.
To enter circulation this spring, Swift called the opportunity to write and design greeting cards “a wonderful experience.”

According to a report, the “Simple Life” starlet and her handsome boyfriend were observed screaming and shoving each other in Hilton’s driveway, with police arriving on the scene and chatting with Paris.
Prior to that, Paris and Doug spent the evening out at the Villa Lounge in West Hollywood, though it looked like there was trouble in paradise as they made their exit.
Earlier in the day, Miss Hilton and Mr. Reinhardt were joined by Paris’ mother Kathy and sister Nicky at the New Hairstyling Tools Launch Party at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills.

These are photos of Rihanna leaving a club in London a few nights ago, and they?re getting a lot of play in the British media. That?s because some a-hole photographer crouched down to take up skirt photos of Rihanna as she was getting into the back of a car - and instead of getting a shot of her cooch, they got photos of her cellulite. I?ve put those photos at the bottom of the post.
Anyway, cellulite or no cellulite, Rihanna might have a new actor boyfriend. The guy?s name is Tristan Wilds and he used to be on HBO?s The Wire (photo here). The dating rumors seem to originate from Tristan coming to a party and being affectionate with Rihanna. I know it?s impossible to judge a book by it?s cover, but this guy looks nice. He looks respectful. Let?s hope that if she is dating him, he?s a nice guy.

The usually stunning songstress was caught in an unflattering pose on Monday night after partying at Mahiki, a nightclub in London. As she climbed into a limo, photographers caught a glimpse of her too-short skirt ? and a bit of cellulite.
But the “Good Girl Gone Bad” has at least one male admirer who doesn’t seem to mind her imperfections: Spies tell us that the singer is dating actor Tristan Wilds. The “90210? star was an unexpected guest at a party RiRi held over the weekend at her L.A. home, where she was saying goodbye to pals before taking off for a set of London gigs.
“No one knew why Tristan was there initially, because it was not an industry party ? it was very intimate,” says a fellow guest. “But everyone quickly realized they weren’t meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see.”
Our source adds that 21-year-old Rihanna and the 20-year-old actor, who has also starred in “The Wire” and Jay-Z’s “Roc Boys” music video, were introduced by a music producer who has worked with both of them ? Wilds is currently working on an album of his own.
They hit it off the moment they laid eyes on each other, the insider says. “He’s a real gentleman,” says the source. “She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up.”
So what now? Although RiRi will be traveling to promote her album “Rated R,” which drops on Monday, our source thinks the fling will last.
“They’ll keep in touch while she’s away,” the snitch insists. “They’re already planning to use iChat and Skype to stay in contact until Tristan finishes shooting ‘90210? for the season and can fly out to meet her on the road.”
While that may be the case, Rihanna may want to ask her new beau why he’s palling around with her ex, Chris Brown ? on Twitter, at least. On Sunday, Brown tweeted that he was “so tired.” Shortly thereafter, Wilds took to his page to give the singer some words of encouragement. “Keep grinding, kid. All we can do,” he wrote.
Let’s hope Rihanna straightens out that issue ASAP ? along with her wardrobe.

One of my favorite stories about Jennifer Lopez is that she allegedly does voodoo. Several years ago, Jennifer?s first husband Ojani Noa was trying to publish a tell-all book about Jennifer, and what she was really like. Noa claimed that Lopez was into Santeria, which (in my opinion) often gets a bad rap. Some dismiss it as voodoo and think the practitioners are nutzo, but I think it sounds like a fun religion. Anyway, Noa is still trying to profit from their brief time together. Last week we heard about Noa attempting to sell a sexy video of the two of them together - a judge later put the video on hold, thank God. But Noa is still claiming that Lopez is ?out to get him?. His new claim involves Jennifer hiring people following him and threatening him. You know Jennifer is making a special potion just for him.
Jennifer Lopez put a halt to the release of a movie that?s supposedly based on her marriage to Ojani Noa, but her ex isn?t giving up. His lawyer and business manager are in court trying to overturn a judge?s ruling that blocks the tape from being shown, and they?re accusing J.Lo of harassing Ojani, to whom she was married for 11 months between 1997 and 1998. ?She?s having him followed,? Ojani?s business manager, Ed Meyer, tells Life & Style. ?We just ran the license plate of the car ? it?s a black Audi ? and it goes directly back to Jennifer Lopez. Ojani?s scared.?

Sanes says. ?We believe he?s under surveillance by someone. He?s had death threats.?
Jennifer was granted a temporary restraining order that prevents Ojani from selling the allegedly steamy home videos. But Ojani, 35, claims his flick, How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story, is not a sex tape but a Borat-style parody of his life as a Cuban immigrant and that the superstar is unfairly keeping him from making money. ?She?s destroying my life,? says Ojani, who was waiting tables when he met Jennifer.

Mariah Carey’s interview and performance on Britain’s “This Morning” started 90 minutes later than it was scheduled because she couldn’t be bothered to show up on time or decide which two-sizes-too-small dress to wear once she got there. The Daily Mail says
Mariah was due to arrive at 5am but [didn't show up until] 6.
After finally arriving at the studios she delayed proceedings further by changing her mind over what outfit to wear.
["This Morning" host Philip] Schofield, who had earlier taken a picture of the star to upload to his Twitter page, was told by her publicity team that Mariah wanted to approve the picture first and banned the presenter from using it.
I really don’t know who these stars think they’re fooling by screening all their publicity photos. I mean really, does she honestly think we don’t know she’s a fatass? Does she think that by only signing off on photographs taken from her “good side” with her hand on her hips and her body twisted at a 45 degree angle and one foot in front of the other, we wouldn’t notice the extra thirty pounds around her midsection? From what I gather, Sam broke up with Lindsay using the excuse that Lindsay was/is too high profile, and Sam didn?t want the added attention/drama. So by hanging out with other celebrities, Sam betrayed Lindsay. I should also note this tenuous connection - Kellan Lutz is the guy who Lindsay tried to get to pay her bar bills. She tried to force a waitress into charging her tab unto Kellan?s credit card. Yeah? those ?premiere kids? are good enough to buy you drinks, but not good enough to hang with. Will this bitch?s drama never end?
In one other piece of crackhead news, Blackbook is reporting that Lindsay might be ?getting cozy? with none other than Ryan Phillippe. Now, as far as I know, Ryan and Abbie Cornish are still together. And as far as I know, Ryan and Lindsay have only been at the same event once in the past few months, and that was over this past weekend. There?s no real story there, just some ?whispers? that the two flirted with each other or something. Oh, and it might not have been the first time - there were reports about Lindsay and Ryan back in 2007, and Ryan didn?t deny that Lindsay was/is sort of into him the following year. Ugh. Here is the just-released poster for Salt, the film starring Angelina Jolie (that could have been starring Tom Cruise). I?m kind of ?meh? on the poster. They made Angelina?s eyes look so weird - her natural eye color is blue-green. On the poster they look like Robert Pattinson?s vampire contacts, all topaz-ish and dilated. Actually, I?m getting a real vampire feel from the whole image - they made her look like she just stepped out the shadows, and she?s about to bite the hell out of us. As for her hair - well, as I?ve mentioned before, of all of the crappy wigs Angelina seemed to wear for this film, I like the black banged one the best. At least they didn?t stick her on the poster in that horrible blonde one.
Beyond the image of Angelina?s big head, there?s not much else. Just ?salt? written in English, and what I?m assuming is Cyrillic (the Russian alphabet). You know, because her character might be a Russian spy or something like that. It involves Vladamir Putin, a double-crossing spy, and vampires. Whoops, spoiler!
The ?Who Is Salt?? website that the poster is advertising is just Sony?s official movie website. They have some additional information about the film, but not much. It doesn?t come out until next July! They should release it earlier, for goodness sake. They obviously are deep into post-production - the film could easily be completed by March or April.

In one more piece of Brangelina news, Fox News put this story up about Brad and Angelina?s private, romantic, food-filled hotel stay after their date night at the Museum of Contemporary Art? all of it without the kids:
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie unleashed their artsy side with a private tour of the MOCA in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday evening, but peaced out before the gala reception had really even got underway. And it seems Hollywood’s hottest couple let the real fun begin inside their room at The Standard Downtown a few hours later.
We’re told Brangelina didn’t put any diva like displays as they drove themselves to the hotel (no security) and entered through the loading dock to avoid any possible craziness before hibernating in their room.
“They just kept ordering room service,” dished our insider. “Everyone was shocked, they ordered so much food and just kept calling up and ordering more and more.?
And no, they weren’t feeding their ever-flourishing family of six children. It was apparently just the two of them and they were having quite the party.
“Brad seemed like he’d had a few too many,” added our source. “He seemed very buzzed bouncing around while Angelina remained pretty quiet.”
And despite rumors of a rocky romance, we’re told the couple seemed very relaxed in their time together with no signs of any tension.

The rumor going into this thing was that Robert Pattinson was a lock, what with New Moon coming out and the general Twihard lunacy. But People Magazine went for maturity instead, and chose Johnny Depp, the actor who used to be a teen sensation, but grew up to be one of Hollywood?s greatest actors. No fears, though - Pattinson was chosen as one of the other ?sexiest men? of the year. It?s a list that also includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey Jr., David Beckham, Nick ?Personal Assistant? Cannon, the boys from Glee, Adam ?Women Are Gross and Dirty? Bringing the fun with him wherever he goes ? whether it’s onscreen in fizzy roles like Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise or at home with his family on their private Bahamian island ? is just one reason why Johnny Depp, who also scored the honor in 2003, has joined an elite club of two-time SMA title holders (only Brad Pitt and George Clooney have matched the feat).
At 46, the father of two still reigns as Hollywood’s most irresistible iconoclast; as one-of-a-kind as his beloved 15-year-old boots and as smoldering as his favorite Cuban cigars.

Just at first glance through the list of the top 15 sexiest men of the year, there seems to be a lack of previous office holders - no Brad Pitt, no George Clooney, no Hugh Jackman, no Matt Damon. They might be on the list somewhere, but they didn?t get pushed and promoted for the top spot.
Johnny is becoming more and more ?establishment? Hollywood by the year, and yet he?s still able to keep his artistic cred, which is cool. Part of the reason may be that he plays the game really well - this year he sat down for an intimate interview with Vanity Fair? and yet, at the end of the day, he didn?t really reveal much. It was also just announced that Johnny Depp is likely the newest highest paid actor in Hollywood. He?s allegedly signed on for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film for a paycheck of $30 million. Now, other actors have earned more for films (I?m thinking Tom Cruise, back in the day, or Tom Hanks), but that?s because they?re getting a percentage of the gross, or a ?back-end? deal. No mention if Johnny has one of those.
In any case, congratulations to our new reigning Sexiest Man Alive! CB threatened to cut me for taking this story. My bad, once again, CB. You deserve it, Johnny!

Up until the release of "Stronger," Britney Spears had not yet truly made the leap from teen pop star to femme fatale. Most — if not all — of her videos were glossy, pastel-colored romps about falling in and out of love. It wasn't until she worked with Joseph Kahn on "Stronger," from her 2000 Oops! ... I Did It Again LP, that Spears began to emerge as a darker, more dangerous version of sexy.
"For 'Stronger,' she said, 'I would like to dance in a chair and drive in a car and break up with [my] boyfriend,' " Kahn told MTV News. " 'Those are your three elements.' And then, as a director, you go, 'OK, well, how do I make that cool?'

50 cent says "Psycho," from his new Before I Self Destruct album, is totally different from "Patiently Waiting," even though the tracks feature the same collaborator, more or less.
"Well, 'Patiently Waiting' I perform with Eminem. On ['Psycho'], off of Before I Self Destruct, is 50 cent and Slim Shady," he explained. "He has an alter ego, and he has a comfort with doing things [that] are the craziest things possible. That's when the chainsaw comes out. He starts going nuts on you. I wanted him to be able to go to that space, so I worked the chorus and he heard the chorus and he's like, 'Yo, I like that.' I actually recorded ['Psycho'] in Las Vegas. Dre produced the track, we had a bunch of producers out there, and I went and laid the first verse. [Em] came and he heard it and he was like, 'Yo, I'm ready.' Wrote his verse, laid it. And then he started the next verse without me, I was like, 'Whoa, I really only wanted one verse. I was going to rap again on the third.' And then he just came in on that, so we went back and forth on the last piece. That song is crazy. That collaboration, we just got such a good energy around each other that we can be creative around each other."

Conventional wisdom states that you shouldn't review a record after it's already been in stores for more than a month (overseas, anyway), but when the record in question has been described as "endearingly bonkers" and "fantastically strange" and leads with an Italian-disco-indebted first single that features the word "lycanthropy," well, sometimes you have to ignore conventional wisdom and just go for it.
So, yes, this is my take on Shakira's She Wolf (which hits stores here in the U.S. next week with a surplus of bonus tracks), a slinky, sexy, spirited pop/disco bonbon that's all hips and lips and handclaps, with the occasional cowbell or clarinet (or mouth trumpet/ electro urchin/ Matt Damon shout-out) sprinkled in for good measure. It's every bit as good as the reviews advertised, and roughly 50 percent more batsh-- crazy than I ever could have imagined.
So, yes, this is a great pop record, certainly one of the year's finest (right up there with Lily Allen's It's Not Me, It's You and Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted), and, yes, hearing Shakira bleat lines like "I gotta say, California is a place that I respect" or "I hope the French fleas eat you both alive" is endlessly entertaining. But what I really enjoyed most about She Wolf is that, for all the ephemera buzzing in/on/around it, it's really a pretty straightforward, oddly personal record — a fascinating, funky, fun one at that.
Because, at its core, She Wolf is simply Shakira's attempt at making an electro-pop record. And the songs presented here are her versions of dance music: mutated, genre- (and era-) hopping, poly-national tunes, written by a Colombian pop star who's fluent in English, Portuguese and Italian, tinkered with by a globe-spanning squad of producers (the Neptunes, Timbaland, Wyclef, John Hill, Amanda Ghost, etc.). It's music that couldn't have existed in any other era — a very 21st-century, global thing — made by a woman whose career wouldn't have been possible at any other time in history.
Which is how we end up with songs like "She Wolf" — the batty first single that slinks along on an Italo-disco line (it was written by Hill and Sam Endicott from the Bravery) and features Shakira howling at the moon (and comparing herself to a coffee machine) — and "Long Time," which is buoyed by a Roma-esque clarinet breakdown. It certainly explains songs like "Good Stuff," electronic genie music that transforms into "La Isla Bonita" in the chorus, or the excellent "Men in This Town," a tune that starts in California but finishes up as a disco tune on Jupiter (it's also where Shakira openly pines for Matt Damon, for the record).
So, basically, it's not a stretch to call She Wolf Shakira's most personal album. This is dance music, as she hears it in her head, with no filters added. And that goes doubly for the lyrics, which are riddled with guilt ("Did It Again") and spite (the biting "Mon Amour," which closes with her singing/speaking, "Passengers with destination to hell, we are ready to board now") and — most of all — lust ("Long Time," "Why Wait," "Spy"). These are imperfect emotions, and she's unashamed to be feeling them. In fact, this is probably her confessional.
Of course, that's all nerdy music-journo crap. The real power of She Wolf lies in its ability to pack dance floors. Of the 10 songs on the record — the U.S. version comes with six additional tracks, three of which are reworked versions of songs already on the album, two of which are live tracks and one of which features Lil Wayne — only one ("Gypsy") isn't an immediate, rousing hip-shaker, which makes it one of the most party-ready, blissed-out listens of the year.
This is impressive, undeniable stuff: deeply personal pop for everyone. There's a she-wolf (or, perhaps a wolf-man) inside us all, and this is the soundtrack to his/her Saturday night. Or, as Shakira puts it: "Awoooooooooo!"

Making the most of her time down under, Britney Spears was spotted hitting up the Sydney Aquarium in Australia’s Darling Harbor today (November 18).
Joined by her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, the “Gimme More” mommy looked to be having a marvelous time during the family outing which included all kinds of nature-themed activities.
Ms. Spears and her boys went on a glass bottom boat ride to check out the shark pen before making their way to the Sydney Wildlife Park.

As previously reported by Gossip Center, Eva was honored last night as Philanthropist of the Year by The Hollywood Reporter for her work in founding Eva’s Heroes.

Teaming up for a sisterly night on the town, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen turned up for a tribute to Tim Burton at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Tuesday night (November 17).
