Charlize Theron has a new interview in the New York Times to promote Bombshell. I?ve only started to realize recently (like, in the past week) that Charlize is angling for a Best Actress Oscar nomination for playing Megyn Kelly. Considering the field and the work Charlize put it into the film? it will probably happen? Charlize not only went through that physical transformation to become Megyn Kelly, she also stepped in as a producer on the project after the financing fell through at the last minute. So, yeah, Hollywood loves that kind of plucky behind-the-scenes story. Charlize spoke about that, how Megyn Kelly is deeply flawed and how Harvey Weinstein was always a massive C-U-Next-Tuesday. Some highlights:
On Annapurna Pictures pulling the financing for Bombshell two weeks before production began: ?It felt like we had been going at top speed toward something risky, and then, all of a sudden, the floor was just dropping from underneath us? It?s a tough pill to swallow when you hear your financier wants to back out, especially when it?s almost half the cost of something that they?ve already done with a man.? [Annapurna had just released Vice.]
On Megyn Kelly?s controversial statements: ?There are things she has said that I?ve definitely had issues with, but it doesn?t invalidate how I feel about her struggle. Avoiding all of that stuff to get an emotional arc out of her character, I just didn?t want to be a part of that. By the way, if this was a movie about me ? and I hope nobody ever does one ? it would be filled with flaws and mistakes, and I wouldn?t want somebody to take those things away. I really do believe that what she and those women went through was messed up, even though they work for a network that I highly have issues with.
On the scene where Margot Robbie?s character is sexually harassed by Roger Ailes: ?My concern was making sure she was comfortable in the underwear she was wearing. All three of us ? Nicole, Margot and I ? have been nude in movies where it?s not about the nudity. I?ve also been nude in scenes where I felt incredibly empowered, which is not what you would imagine. What the scene in ?Bombshell? was more about, and what made this brutal to watch on the day, was the fact that you had Roger Ailes dictating how this was going to go and she didn?t have a say. It?s the belittling factor: ?I am going to get you to do something that I know you?re incredibly uncomfortable with.? I think it?s having to placate his power that makes it almost unbearable to watch, way more than if he physically raped her in that scene.
Men?s reactions to the movie: ?Watching this has been eye-opening to a lot of people. Men, especially, go, ?I had no idea women had to do things like that.? It?s humbling that you can create that kind of moment, because a lot of times you know people are going to say, ?This is a woman?s movie, and men will not tap into this at all.? When men can emotionally engage with what we experience and be just as disturbed by it, it?s a powerful thing.
On the power plays Harvey Weinstein used to make: ?Yeah, and he did that to everybody. Pitting women against each other? He was really, really good at that. There was a lot of, like, ?Well, I?m talking to Gwyneth for this movie ?? One of his lines was that Rene [Zellweger] and I slept with him to get jobs. There was no limit to him. Even in the sexual favors, he would still pit us against each other.

Her description of men?s reactions to the movie reminds me a little bit of the conversations however brief around Christine Blasey Ford?s Senate testimony last year. I remember that so many men online were suddenly feeling very raw and in their feelings about Dr. Ford?s testimony and how the trauma of a sexual assault can have repercussions for years and decades. It was like, ?oh, sh-t, that really happens?? I feel men just keep having those realizations too with all of the outed predators and these conversations about sexual harassment, assault, power imbalance and rape culture.
Speaking of, her comment about Harvey Weinstein is? interesting. There were so many rumors that Charlize was one of the few actresses to really stand up to Weinstein as he was harassing her. But for her to name-check Renee Zellweger? well. And you know, Renee is probably going to be nominated for an Oscar this year too.

It is my hope and belief that Jennifer Lopez walks into the Oscars as a sure thing for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Hustlers. Hustlers is a good movie with a GREAT performance by Jennifer. Every now and then, she?ll remind us that she can really ACT. She did it in Out of Sight and Selena. And she did it again in Hustlers. But let?s also be honest: Jennifer will likely win an Oscar based on her first scene in the film, where she does the most amazing dance on the stage, with the stripper pole. It was one of the greatest moments in cinema this decade, and I?m not even fking joking. But some people HATERS and Mariah Carey fans want to make us believe that Jennifer had some kind of body double or dancer-double in the stripping scene. NO. We will not stand for this slander. Jennifer Lopez isnt about to pull a Natalie Portman and win an Oscar based on someone elses dance.
Jennifer was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night, and he asked her about That Scene, how Jennifer asked that the scene be added to the script and how there was NOT a body double. You can see that part around the 5-minute mark, but the whole interview is good.
When Fallon mentions that she did not have a body double, Jennifer tells him ?I have the bruises, I took pictures to prove itI said, ?I dont care if I look like a bat hanging upside down? my face is crunched, ?make sure you get me,? I dont want anybody thinking?? Yeah. It?s ALL J.Lo. And it is glorious and Oscar-worthy! Anyway, she?s the host for this weekend?s Saturday Night Live. Here are some promo videos:

This year, I?ve been seeing a lot of photos of Owen Wilson on various film sets. It?s unusual because I?ve never really considered him to be the kind of actor who likes to work on back-to-back films, and he seems to like to do a variety of studio and indie films, but he?s worked on several studio projects as of late. It truly just occurred to me just now, today: he?s making money because he?s got to support all of the kids he keeps having with current or ex-girlfriends. Owen has two sons with former girlfriends, and last year, another one of his exes welcomed a baby daughter named Lyla. Owen made his ex, Varunie, take a paternity test while she was pregnant, and Lyla is his. But he doesn?t want to know the child or be in Lyla?s life whatsoever. The child is about 14 months old now, and Owen has never met her. But at least he?s paying child support:
Owen Wilson reportedly pays $25,000 (19,000) a month in child support for the baby girl he has never met. The Cars voice actor welcomed a daughter, Lyla Aranya Wilson, in 2018 with on-and-off lover Varunie Vongsvirates and new court documents seen by Radar Online revealed that he pays $25,000 a month for the little girls upkeep.
The 51-year-old actor demanded a DNA test when Vongsvirates claimed he was the father of her child, and the test came back positive. Documents reveal he made a one-off payment of $70,000 to the mother to cover a night nurse, labour coach and Vongsvirates legal fees, and regularly pays the monthly amount of the mother. On the documents he reportedly checked the none box under visitation rights but agreed to add Lyla, now one, to his Screen Actors Guild medical insurance. The pair dated for five years before they split for good in 2018.

I mean? at least he?s paying, I guess. Don?t give him a cookie for truly doing the bare minimum though. What bugs is that Owen is actually in his sons? lives, probably not consistently, but he sees his sons and he spends time with them here and there. But his daughter will grow up without knowing him. As for men who have children with multiple baby mamas? we should call it something, like Jude Law Syndrome?? I feel like Owen is just taking a lot of jobs now to pay all of these child support payments.

We don?t talk much about Felicity Jones here, but I think that?s the way she wants it. Felicity tends to only pop up to promote her work, which she can get away with because she?s a pretty good actor. Occasionally she?ll share some private news with us, but it?s usually after the fact, like her wedding last year to director Charles Guard. But earlier this week, Felicity announced that she and Charles are expecting a baby in 2020! Felicity is promoting her film with Eddie Redmayne, The Aeronauts. The film is getting decent reviews, most saying the thrills of the hot-air ballooning and the chemistry of these repeat co-stars makes the movie. Felicity wore the cute, season appropriate back velvet dress above to the New York premiere.

Felicity Jones is closing out 2019 with a bang and stepping into her biggest role yet. The Aeronauts actress is expecting her first with husband, Charles Guard, E! News has learned.
While not many details have been shared about her pregnancy, she cheekily showed off her growing baby bump without anyone knowing!
On Wednesday night, the 36-year-old star braved the cold weather in New York City to attend the premiere of her and Eddie Redmaynes latest film, The Aeronauts. For the special occasion, Jones donned a black velvet gown that featured statement white bows on the shoulders and dramatic puffed sleeves.

Her bump is supposedly visible, but I can?t see it, the puff sleeves draw my eye instead. She looked good ? happy and healthy, which is all the matters for the new mom-to-be. Felicity isn?t really adventurous style-wise. Although that served her well with her wedding dress which was simple, classic, elegant and just a dream on her. As the article said, we don?t have much news. I?d love to tell you there will be more details to follow but I think we know from Felicity?s pattern that this might be the last we hear of it until the little one arrives. It?s fun to think that maybe Eddie could be a godfather. He was at the wedding, it?s not outside the realm of possibility.
Outside of the baby news, Felicity told ScreenDaily that she?d sought more action films after Rogue One. Although the life size balloon and basket built for the Aeronauts actors never left the soundstage, for realism sake, they were bombarded with rain, wind machines and freezing temperatures to make floating 30,000 feet in the sky look real. Sounds like director Tom Harper took a page out of James Cameron?s book. The movie opens today in theaters and will come to Amazon Prime December 20. I think I?ll tap out for this one due to my fear of heights. I?ve posted the trailer and some pics from the New York and UK premiere. I?m including Eddie because my gawd, that man knows how to dress. Look at his New York ensemble with his trench coat and polka-dot silk scarf.

Taylor Swift turns 30 years old in a matter of days. It?s amazing what she?s accomplished before turning 30. I?ll let Taylor in on a little secret about aging: every year that passes, you honestly do give less and less of a sh-t about what people think about you. I was neurotic about ?what other people think of me? in my teens and early 20s. Years later, I leave the house in no bra and slippers and IDGAF. In Taylor?s case, though, she still cares. Maybe she?s not as neurotic about keeping up appearances and all of that but she still cares. You can tell by her increasingly bizarre insistence that everyone is lying except her, everyone is a bully except her and no one is a victim except her.

As we all know, Justin Timberlake couldn?t help but remind us that he got drunk and got handsy with his costar Alisha Wainwright. The incident happened in New Orleans, at a bar in the French Quarter, and JT and Alisha were holding hands and at one point, she had her hand on his thigh, and they looked very flirty and touchy. He also looked visibly drunk. We know all of this because there were photos and a video. It?s not idle gossip. It?s evidential gossip. Anyway, that happened the weekend before Thanksgiving. We got through a whole-ass holiday and completely forgot about it before Justin reminded us by posting his ?apology? on Instagram Tuesday evening. So what was behind the apology? Why publicly apologize to his wife for this, as opposed to, you know, working sh-t out privately? A source spilled all to E! News:
Justin Timberlake is taking the steps to put those eyebrow-raising photos behind him. Late last month, the Grammy winner made headlines when photos emerged of him and Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright holding hands and getting questionably touchy during an outing with the cast and crew in New Orleans. While sources told E! News there is absolutely nothing going on between them, Timberlake broke his silence on the situation on Wednesday with a public apology to his longtime wife, Jessica Biel, and his family.
He feels terrible that this happened and for putting Jessica through the public scrutiny, a source said of the star. He knows she doesnt deserve any of this and that he messed up.
According to the source, Timberlake hopes by addressing what happened and apologizing to her publicly that they can put this behind them and start to move on. Justin feels like the story isnt dying and hopes this will be the end of it. He always tries to keep his private life private, but he knows he made a big mistake in public and now has to own up to it.
In regard to their 7-year marriage, Nobody is going anywhere, but its definitely had an effect on their marriage and her trust in him, the source noted. Even if nothing more happened than what was in the photos, what he did was highly inappropriate.

So it would have been cool for him to cheat if she did ?deserve? it? Huh. ?Justin feels like the story isnt dying?? The story was dead. It was dead before Thanksgiving even, and I truly forgot about that sh-t this week. The rest of it? I guess Jessica was legit pissed. I would have been too! And I guess she was like ?motherfker, APOLOGIZE TO ME and let everyone know you apologized to me.?
