Did anyone else sort of forget that we still didn?t know the name of Rihanna?s son? We finally got to see his face on the cover of British Vogue several months ago, but Rihanna had already posted some videos and photos of the baby before the magazine came out, because she was trying to dilute the value of some paparazzi pics. Throughout all of those dramas, we still didn?t know the kid?s name! Well, the Daily Mail got their hands on the baby?s birth certificate and drumroll please?
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky kept their sons name a secret for a year, but the moniker has finally been revealed. The Daily Mail shared a copy of the babys birth certificate, which shows his full name is RZA Athelston Mayers. He appears to be named after Wu-Tang Clan member RZA (whose real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs), pronounced Rizza. The baby shares his middle name, Athelston, with dad Rocky. The birth certificate also confirms RZAs date of birth was May 13, 2022.
As the tabloid noted, Rihanna had hinted at the babys name on April 5, where she was spotted carrying little RZA while wearing a Wu-Tang Clan shirt. Shed also been photographed in August 2022 wearing a RZA tee.

I actually like the name ?Rizza? but I?m lukewarm on using an acronym for a kid?s name. Still, I kind of agree that the kid looks like a Rizza/RZA. I also wonder if there was more connections than just ?Rihanna liked the name RZA.? Rihanna is Robyn she probably wanted an R name. Maybe the name stands for something else entirely. Who knows. I wonder what she?ll name the second kid? Fingers crossed for ODB (whose first name is actually Russell, another R name).

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky arrived last and not-so-fashionably late to this year?s Met Gala, more than 20 minutes after most of the gala livestreams and white-carpet shows ended. When Rihanna does attend the gala, she usually is the last one on the carpet, so she?s just keeping it real.
Rihanna, who is expecting her second child (much like Serena Williams!), wore a customized look by Valentino. It was based on a Valentino-pink gown shown on a Valentino runway Rihanna got it done in white, with a ?hooded? coat made to look like oversized flower blooms. I?m already seeing people criticizing this as ?she looks like cake icing,? but I think it?s such a cool look and she really thought about the theme and how best to interpret it. The fingerless gloves! The sunglasses, the sweeping bridal energy? this is very Lagerfeld. Rocky is in Gucci. He didn?t look great. But whatever, this isn?t about him.
While it wasn?t that bad on the livestream or on TV, in photos, the color of actual gala carpet was SO BAD. I?m mad at the off-white carpet specifically because so many women wore white, and they?re just blending in with the carpet. Think of how Rihanna?s dress would have looked even more dazzling on a dark blue or blood red carpet.

We go through this every year, and every year, I guess people are hearing it for the first time. The NFL doesn?t pay their Halftime performers. All of those times Beyonce performed at the Super Bowl, she didn?t get paid. Maroon 5 didn?t get paid. Coldplay didn?t get paid. Rihanna didn?t get paid for performing this year. The NFL will pick up expenses, especially for the staging, the pyrotechnics and the dancers. But Rihanna didn?t pick up a fat check from the NFL for her Halftime performance:
Rihanna may have put in the work, work, work, work, work at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, but, as is customary for the mid-game spectacle, she did so for free. Though the famed halftime show often attracts the biggest names in music (everyone from Beyonc to Bruce Springsteen has graced the stage), theres actually no paycheck involved for the headlining act.
We do not pay the artists, an NFL spokesperson told Forbes in 2016. We cover expenses and production costs.
Brian McCarthy, the NFLs vice president of communications, confirmed to Newsweek that the league does cover all costs associated with the show ? and while artists dont receive an appearance fee, they are paid union scale, which is a minimum wage guaranteed by a union contract.
For many, the exposure and the chance to perform before increasingly large crowds is well worth the journey; last years Super Bowl was watched by 112.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen and streaming data from NBC, and this years match-up was poised to pull in even higher ratings, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Artists often see a boost in sales immediately after the show, as well as the chance to increase their social media followings. In a moment thats since gone viral, Rihanna also touched up her makeup using a compact from her Fenty Beauty brand. She also topped off her beauty look with a new liquid lipstick, called the MVP, that launched online during halftime.

Yeah, the exposure is a big deal, even for already well-established artists. This year, Apple Music was the main sponsor of the Halftime show, and sales of Rihanna?s (old) hits have gone though the roof. She?s also getting a huge spike in streams on Spotify. AND her Fenty beauty line has seen an immediate spike in sales too. According to Variety, Rihanna?s Spotify streams spiked 640% in the US, and Apple Music reports a 331% spike in listeners.

First off, that was a pregnancy confirmation for Rihanna at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Shortly after the show, Rihanna?s rep confirmed that Rihanna is expecting again. She just welcomed Baby Boy Fenty in May of last year! She got pregnant again right away, damn.
So, I?m sure Rihanna?s pregnancy affected the staging and choreography of the Halftime Show, but even without the pregnancy, I?m not sure she would have chosen to do much differently. Unlike many Halftime shows in recent memory, Rihanna didn?t throw everything and the kitchen sink into this sh-t. There were no guest-stars Rihanna knew she was enough. There wasn?t a ton of choreography for Rihanna she let her dancers take care of that. There weren?t elaborate costume changes Rihanna said she?s not doing all of that. What we got was a simplified, almost elegant stage set-up with floating Plexiglass platforms and a very basic red-and-white color scheme. It worked? in my opinion.
The thing that occurred to me is? I bet the NFL is very happy about this. She kept it simple, there was no vulgarity, no crazy moments overshadowing the game, yet she delivered a memorable performance. Considering all of the (completely justified) sh-t she?s talked about the NFL, I wonder if they were shocked that she kept everything (relatively) wholesome. She?s even being praised by NFL moms for being a glowing example of pregnancy and motherhood.
Also, the fact that she whipped out a Fenty compact and checked her makeup mid-performance? She said, I?m a billionaire now, be grateful you?re getting this.

The Super Bowl is happening on Sunday. Wait, let me look up who?s playing? Chiefs versus the Eagles. That should be good (I have no idea). I?m mostly looking forward to the music, and I?m getting hyped for Rihanna?s Half-Time show. Usually, days before the Super Bowl, the Half-Time act gives an exclusive interview as part of the NFL sponsorship, and that?s what happened on Thursday. Rihanna gave an interview, and iTunes dropped this magnificent trailer for her Half-Time show:
It actually gave me chills? ?I was just a little island girl flying kites at the cemetery?? is so evocative. This will be Rihanna?s first time on stage in five years, and this is something Rihanna always swore she wouldn?t do. In 2019, Rihanna was asked by Vogue if she would ever do the Half-Time show and she said: ?I couldn?t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn?t be a sellout. I couldn?t be an enabler. There?s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.? Crash-cut to 2023, with Jay-Z?s Roc Nation partnering with the NFL, and here she is. Some highlights from Rihanna?s interview:
She forgot about her birthday: Sunday, now thats the one. Ive been so focused on the Super Bowl I totally forgot that my birthdays coming up. I totally forgot about Valentines Day.?
The Super Bowl is an ?entertainer?s dream.? ?The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world; it?s an entertainer?s dream to be on a stage like that. But it?s nerve-racking. You want to get it right. You know, everybody?s watching. And they?re rooting for you. And I want to get it right.?
She keeps changing the set list: Rihanna explained how curating the setlist for the halftime show has been the most difficult aspect of it, noting that it?s changed roughly ?39 times? already. When asked what fans can expect from the performance, Rih said, ?It?s going to be a celebration of my catalog in the best way that we could.? She added that it?s changed so many times because of the inherent time crunch that comes with the halftime show. ?You?re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes, so it?s difficult, and some songs we had to lose because of that, but that?s okay.?
She?s also going to focus on her Bajan & Caribbean roots: ?[Caribbean culture] is a big part of why this is important for me to do this show. Representation: representing for immigrants, representing for my country of Barbados, representing for Black women everywhere. I think that?s really important. That?s key, for people to see the possibilities.? Apple Music also released a teaser for the show after the interview, which featured glimpses of Bajan culture and are sure to be present during the show.

It?s kind of crazy to think that Rihanna hasn?t done any of this in five years, and that the set list wasn?t finalized weeks ago, and that Rihanna just had a baby last year. If I was in Rihanna?s shoes, I would have made some really different decisions about post-birth scheduling. She gave birth to her son, Name Still Unknown, in May of this year. She?s had a short maternity leave, but really she?s been working non-stop for months. She released her first song in years, ?Lift Me Up,? for Wakanda Forever. She organized the Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 show, featuring Johnny Depp. She also signed on to perform at the Super Bowl Half-time show in February. The Halftime show is a massive commitment and everyone expects a giant spectacle, a spectacle for which Rihanna will have to oversee and approve every part. By the Super Bowl, her baby won?t even be 10 months old! She could have scheduled this stuff differently, I?m just saying. Rihanna spoke to Vogue ahead of the Prime Video premiere of the Fenty show (it will air on November 9th, it was already filmed this weekend). Some highlights:
Working after having a baby: ?I thought I was gonna get just right back to work and I did,? she said from the soundstage where she took pre-show interviews, perfectly made up and clad in an alligator-embossed Alaa minidress. ?Then I took a little break, and then came back, and now I?m back outside.?
She?s mom-tired: ?I used to get tired and just push through and keep going. This is a tired that you have no control over it. Your body is shutting down. And just recently I pushed through three days at the studio in a row?like, slept in the studio?to get a song done because it?s a project that?s really important to me coming out. I believed it and I wanted to be a part of it, so I got it done.?
The Johnny Depp appearance at the Fenty show: Savage x Fenty Volume 4 premieres on Prime Video on November 9, and features models like Precious Lee, Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls, Irina Shayk, Zach Miko, and Lara Stone; actors like Marsai Martin, Simu Liu, Damson Idris, Taraji P. Henson, and Abbott Elementary Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph; social media superstars Rickey Thompson and Avani Gregg and musician Bella Poarch; and performances from artists like Anitta, Burna Boy, Don Toliver, and Maxwell. In early November it was revealed that Johnny Depp was also included as part of the cast. (He walks to OutKast?s ?So Fresh, So Clean.?) Rihanna was proud of the production, she told Vogue. ?It looks so freaking good. It?s beautiful. It is one of those things that you say you want to do and the logistics are impossible but we somehow pulled it off.?
The work-life balance going? ?Not much balance,? she says. ?But everything is stimulating. Everything right now is firing off. I?m excited. Its getting me super motivated, super energized to do new things, to create, and I?m back in the studio and now we?re going to be back on stage for the Super Bowl. Which is just crazy that I even agreed to that, but I am, and Im excited. Of course being a new mom is insane. It is lovely. It is epic, honestly.?
Her favorite part of being a new mom? ?His smile. He is the happiest baby. No matter what you?re doing or what youre feeling, when he smiles at you everything else just goes away. Its the best.? She?s not ruling out the possibility that she would design kids? clothing, either. ?We didnt get there yet but its something that I might do. We?ll see. I would have so much fun with that. Anything in miniature is just so cute.?
The Halftime Show. ?I almost didn?t do it, actually. It was one of those things that I took a while to really say yes to, because I knew that it was a huge commitment and it was something that I couldnt take back once I committed. So I took my time really agreeing to that, and it became this challenge in me that I needed to see through.? She found motherhood to be a key part of the process. ?It?s now or never, and also, you feel like, I could do anything now.?

Again, she could just? not go at this pace? It reminds me of Beyonce saying no to Coachella soon after she had the twins she ended up giving herself a proper maternity leave, with time to really put her bonkers Coachella show together. Instead of simply giving herself time, Rihanna just expects to be able to pick up where she left off. She was honestly taking it so much easier before she even got pregnant. As for the Depp stuff? it continues to be disgusting. She didn?t hesitate, she didn?t get second thoughts. She really invited a domestic abuser to her Fenty show and had his parade around.

I saw this piece of news yesterday morning and I honestly thought it was some kind of sick joke-article. I hoped that by Thursday afternoon, we would get a statement from Rihanna?s rep saying ?nah, none of this is for real.? The story seemed to originate in TMZ (they ran it as an exclusive). According to their sources, domestic abuser Johnny Depp has been invited to make a ?guest appearance? at Rihanna?s Savage X Fenty fashion show. Gross.
Johnny Depp is a wanted man in just about every lane Hollywood has to offer these days, and hes about to make a guest appearance in a huge show orchestrated by Rihanna! No, Depp wont be shredding his guitar with RiRi at the Super Bowl but production sources tell us hell be a featured surprise guest in her Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 fashion show.
Were told JD wont be walking the runway, instead, hes going to be a focus of one of the shows star moments which has included the likes of Cindy Crawford and Erykah Badu in the past. Depp who will wear items from the mens collection will be the first male in Savage X Fenty show history to take the role.
Our sources say Rihanna and her team invited Johnny to be a part of it, and both sides were super excited to make it happen. Were told Johnny has already filmed his part, and itll be included in the shows premiere on Amazon Prime Video November 9. As for how Depp will look, were told the vibe is cool and chic and works for all aspects of Johnnys artistry music, modeling and acting.

Depp literally ran an unhinged disinformation campaign on the woman he abused and assaulted THIS YEAR. The dumb trial, the ?both sides? verdict, all of that happened this spring, just five months ago. It?s not like this is a situation where Depp was deplorable ten years ago, he went away and found Jesus and now he?s launching a comeback and Rihanna had no idea. This is a man who was has been sadistic trash the whole time and Rihanna should know better. So many Rihanna fans were expressing disappointment about this, and I hope they yell loud enough that she changes her mind. Rihanna could literally get the same exact energy if she puts a spotlight on a pile of soiled scarves and an ashtray full of cigarette butts.
Also: I wonder if this is a forced connection because of Rihanna and Depp?s Dior contracts. Rihanna has long been on Dior?s payroll, and she?s currently the face of Dior sunglasses. Depp has been the face of Dior Sauvage for years, and he just renewed his contract this year. It would not surprise me at all if this was a Dior hookup.

For at least the past decade, there?s been a trend for designers and fashion houses to send baby clothes to celebrity moms. Any pregnant celebrity woman is getting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of free baby clothes, and I imagine it?s exactly the same for Rihanna during her pregnancy. If anything, I bet she?s getting more unsolicited high-end designer baby stuff sent to her than Kim Kardashian got for all of her kids combined. And yeah, I do find it pointless! While baby clothes are super-cute, chances are pretty great that the baby will outgrow that Versace onesie in about a month. Which makes this a pretty obvious choice: Rihanna was shopping for baby clothes at Target.
Pregnant Rihanna was spotted shopping in the baby aisle at a Target in Los Angeles Tuesday. The ?Diamonds? singer, who has an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion, perused the newborn section of the store as she went bargain-hunting for some cute pieces of clothing in photos published by the Daily Mail.
Rihanna, 34, was seen checking out a wall of unisex baby onesies and socks as she and boyfriend A$AP Rocky gear up for the arrival of their first child. She was also photographed eyeing a frilly, coral-colored dress, insinuating that she and the rapper, 33, may be expecting a baby girl. The Cat & Jack dress retails for a meager $18.
The Fenty Beauty founder looked stylish in an oversize hoodie emblazoned with the words ?Living the Dream? and an image of the New York City skyline. She paired the sweatshirt with a silver sparkly miniskirt and purple heels. Her hair was pulled back in a chic updo.

You can just tell, she?s having a blast, she feels really good and she?s even being a little bit dorky. You heard me! Ms. Bad Bitch is so thrilled about her bump and impending motherhood, she?s doing cute little pregnant-lady poses on red carpets. These photos are from Rihanna?s Fenty Beauty Universe launch event in LA. It?s HER billion-dollar industry which she built from the ground up, and Rihanna turned up in her cute little outfit and cupped her bump for the cameras. She mostly posed solo, but A$AP Rocky was there, and they did pose together on the carpet too, with Rocky cradling her bump a little bit. Rihanna even talked to People Magazine!! What is this?? Next she?s going to be a mommy blogger and ride around in a minivan!!
Rihanna is opening up about how being pregnant has impacted her day-to-day fashion. The 33-year-old singer ? who is expecting her first baby with boyfriend A$AP Rocky ? said that she has embraced the good and the bad that has come with her newfound curves. Noting that its fun but also a challenge to play with fashion while pregnant, Rihanna told PEOPLE, I like it. Im enjoying it.
Im enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy, the We Found Love singer added. If I feel a little chubby, its like, whatever! Its a baby!
Rihanna also explained that fashion helps her feel most confident these days. Right now, being pregnant, some days you just feel like, Ugh, I just want to lay here on this couch all day. But when you put on a little face and a little lipstick, you transform. You put some clothes on, and its like, when you look good, you feel good. Ive heard that for a very long time, but its true. It really can get you up off that couch and make you feel like a bad bitch.
Other guests in attendance at the event included Tinashe, Evan Ross, Madison Beer, Michelle Young, and Nayte Olukoya, as well as A$AP Rocky, who coordinated with Rihanna in a green and purple ensemble. The matching outfits, Rihanna explained, were not planned, however. I didnt know what he was wearing. I didnt even see him! she told PEOPLE. Like, he left the studio to come here.

It does feel like she was trying to conceal her bump for a while, so it must feel so new to her to ?dress pregnant? and reveal the bump to everyone. As I said last week, she still hasn?t bought any maternity clothes. She?s just getting regular clothes and going up a few sizes, and she?s picking out stuff with an ?open? kind of waist/midriff. I kind of doubt she?ll do that for the entire pregnancy, but who knows. She?s Rihanna, she?s doing ?celebrity pregnancy? in her own special Rihanna way. The dorky bad bitch way.
