| Katherine Heigl on her body image: 'I can't believe how mean I was to myself' | Added 565 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Yahoo Life has a series called It Figures, in which influential figures discuss body image. Katherine Heigl is in Firefly Lane on Netflix and the second half of its final season premiered a few days ago. Katherine spoke to Yahoo for its series and talked about her past body image and how its evolved to present day. She talks about how negatively she looked at herself earlier in her career and says something many people will find familiar: that when she looks back at that time now she cant believe how she perceived herself compared to how she actually looked. And she talks about her view of her body in present day and her approach toward her body and aging.
Katherine Heigl made her film debut decades ago, kickstarting a massively successful career on-screen ? most notably as the it girl for rom-coms of the early 2000s. Looking back, one of her biggest regrets is how she treated her body.
I cant believe how mean I was to myself. It almost makes me want to cry because it breaks my heart, the Firefly Lane actress tells Yahoo Life. I was so f***ing mean. And I said the most awful things to myself and I was so hard on my body.
The 44-year-old recalls that she hated the way she looked at the time and would often compare herself to those around her. I always felt I was like, so much bigger and heavier than everybody else, she says.
[The negative self-talk is] something that Heigl is cognizant of as her figure evolves. However, getting older has presented new challenges to her experience with body acceptance.
February or so [in 2021], I started inexplicably gaining weight, like a lot of weight, like I think I put on 20 pounds. And I couldnt figure it out. Everything I had always done in the past wasnt working, she says, noting that she returned to old habits. I restricted, I restricted, I restricted, I started working out more, working out more, working out more, giving up everything that I like and literally not losing a pound. Nothing budged.
She went on to say that she was intermittent fasting, which she likens to starving yourself for 16 hours a day. When she brought her concerns to doctors, Heigl felt dismissed.
I started going to doctors and a lot of just like regular general practitioners, ob-gyns [told me], Oh, you know, just exercise more and restrict calories. And Id go, I am doing those things. Im down to 1,200 calories a day. Any lower and Im gonna pass out. And theyd be like, Oh, well, you know, this is just kind of part of getting older. And I was like, Really?'
Heigl explains that shes learned to ask herself questions about how shes feeling in her body in an attempt to remain grounded and focused on her health, rather than her appearance.
Katie, if you werent in front of camera, would you care? Would you care about your weight?' she asks. The answer was yes, I would care. Because I dont feel well. And Im tired and I have no energy and Im moody as hell. My body doesnt feel like my own.
Most importantly, she wanted to be given the opportunity to address the weight gain in a healthy way, she says. It can be done holistically, it can be done mindfully, you know. But this idea like, either live with it or stop eating just really pissed me off.
As shes found the means to approach her body in a more mindful way, shes attempted to apply the same mindset to other areas of her life. The difficult part is coming to terms with how she wants to see herself age versus what others might expect of her.
Im not against anybody doing whatever they feel they need to to feel their best, to wake up in the morning and have self-confidence and feel whatever best that is for them. Its so individual and so personal, she explains. I want people to understand I am in the public eye. I made a choice to be. I feel it is part of my job to look my very best, within reason. But if I werent in the public eye, I still think I would want to look and feel my best for my age, within reason.
And she wants to be as transparent as she can be as a person in the spotlight going through it.
I get a little tired of the idea that like actresses just have genetically superior DNA. Maybe some do, I dont know. But I know I have made choices to maintain, as one will. I also have made choices not to go too far because its not been worth it to me, she says. I dont want to change my face, and Im not interested in looking 25 anymore. That was a nice time, it has passed.
[From Yahoo Life]
Katherine specifically references re-watching The Ugly Truth, as the project where she was shocked at how great she looked then compared to what she thought at the time. But I just kept thinking of that scene in Knocked Up when she gets the promotion and they tell her to lose weight in a roundabout way because they cant legally tell her to do so. I also remember a time when she was lauded for being a more healthy weight compared to some of her medical drama costars, but even if people thought they were being positive, it probably felt different to her. I thought it was interesting that she talked about her recent 20-pound weight gain and being dismissed by doctors, but never really talked about whether she found a solution or just learned to accept it. I think her pivoting to talking about people doing what they need to feel their best indicates the former. I do like that she hit back against the idea that actresses just have genetically superior DNA. So many promote that idea and its infuriating.

There was a moment when Katherine Heigl had arrived, and she could have been her generation?s Jennifer Lawrence/Meg Ryan. She could have written her own Hollywood ticket, made any movie she wanted, delivered big box offices for her romantic comedies and potentially won big awards for her dramatic roles. She was a success story on television and film, and she had that girl-next-door appeal, plus she looked great on every red carpet. Then everything began to derail. She bad-mouthed one of her biggest hits, Knocked Up, and she was criticized by Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow publicly. Then she made a big show of withdrawing her name from Emmy consideration for Grey?s Anatomy, citing the fact that she ?did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination.? She whined about her filming schedule when Shonda Rhimes had moved stuff around to make Heigl?s life easier. After a few years, Heigl was off Grey?s Anatomy, with Rhimes invoking her ?no aholes? policy, and Heigl?s movie career was in the dumps. Throughout it all, Heigl was managed by her mother Nancy, who also gained a sh-tty reputation.
Why the backstory? Heigl is back. She?s got a new Netflix show called Firefly Lane about female friendships and how they change over time. Katherine is sort re-introducing herself for this promotion, hoping that all is forgiven. Or, at the very least, forgotten. She?s pretty obviously trying to reclaim her tabloid narrative with a new vibe of ?what?s wrong with being a ?difficult woman? after all?? Let?s see if it works! You can read this WaPo interview here. Some highlights:
On her many controversies: ?I may have said a couple of things you didn?t like, but then that escalated to ?she?s ungrateful,? then that escalated to ?she?s difficult,? and that escalated to ?she?s unprofessional.? What is your definition of difficult? Somebody with an opinion that you don?t like? Now, I?m 42, and that s pisses me off.?
On female friendship: ?Any relationship that has stood the test of that kind of time is going to have moments of fallout, and if it doesnt, that means somebody is not being honest. Somebody is not being allowed to grow, and somebody is not creating boundaries.?
On apologizing for her mistakes: ?At the time, I was just quickly told to shut the f up. The more I said I was sorry, the more they wanted it. The more terrified and scared I was of doing something wrong, the more I came across like I had really done something horribly wrong.?
Whether she would ever go back to Grey?s: ?I could never say never. I think it would just be completely dependent upon the team over there, how they feel about it, and the story.?
She thinks if she had kept making hits, all would have been forgiven: ?You can be the most awful, difficult, horrible person on the planet, but if youre making them money, theyre going to keep hiring you. I knew that whatever they felt I had done that was so awful, they would overlook it if I made them money ? but then my films started to make not quite as much money.?
Coming to grips with America?s racism as the mother to a Black child (her daughter Adalaide): ?There is not a ton of diversity in Utah, and that was not something we even thought of because we were living in our White bubble and just kind of thinking ?love is love.? It was a very big eye opener. I took to seeking advice and counsel from those who are more steeped in this experience and staying up at night trying to figure out how the hell do I have this conversation with my kids?? Here, Heigl became choked up. ?I know every mother of a child who has to have this conversation must feel the same, and theyre probably, like, Suck it up, Heigl. This is what has to be done. But it feels like taking a piece of their soul.?
On her momager: ?Nobody can protect you better than my mother. She is fierce. She has no fear of anybody in power. I realize a lot of young women did not and do not have that. I wish I could loan her out.?
[From The Washington Post]
My take is that I believe both arguments can be true here. On one side, Heigl was absolutely a pill and she largely destroyed her own career all by herself. On the other side, tons of people have done a lot worse than ?mouthed off in several interviews? and ?been unprofessional? and those people have been able to come back rather easily, if they were even forced to go away. There was always a heavy dose of industry and cultural sexism with Heigl?s story, but I remember covering her during that time period and she absolutely did so much of it to herself, oh my God. Anyway, I?m sort of glad that Netflix has given her the chance to have some kind of comeback and let?s see where it goes.

Katherine Heigl is living a low key life with her family in Utah. She has two daughters, Naleigh, 9, and Adalaide, 6, and welcomed son Joshua Jr in December of 2016 with her husband of ten years, Josh Kelly. We know she?s joining Suits now that Meghan Markle has left to marry Harry, which is probably the death knell for that show. We also know that she?s crazy in love with Josh and that she?s a devoted mom, at least according to her social media posts. The last time we reported on her she was gushing about her husband in an overlong post. How many ways can she say the same thing? Prior to that, in August, she was detailing her 50 pound weight loss after she had Joshua Jr. Now that she’s lost more weight and toned up she wants us to know about it. She posted some before and after pics and a long explanation of how she lost the weight. I’m including her caption below so I don’t have to excerpt it. You can skim it without missing much.
It?s been almost 14 months since Joshua Jr was born and it has taken me about that long to really get back in shape. The first pic was taken one month after he was born. The second pic was taken almost a full year later and the last pic was taken this weekend. I wish I had a few from in between the first and second so you could really see how slow my progress was but alas…I was busy covering it all up those months, not posing in my unders! Anyway, I have a beach vacation coming up, a new job I start filming in April and my deep desire to feel fit, strong and sexy propelling me forward the last two months to finally loose the last of my baby weight and do a deep dive search for the ab muscles I knew were buried under that belly somewhere! I was wholly and totally inspired by Miss @rachparcell and the before and after pics she shared after taking the #bbg challenge. I had never heard of it but she looked so damn great (she had her baby just a few months before me) that I had to check it out. I found a fantastic app called #sweat that features several different #bbg programs you can choose from and makes it incredibly easy to do anywhere, which for me means in my bedroom at home! I won?t lie, the workouts are real ass kickers but the progress I?ve made in only 5 short weeks has kept me motivated and inspired to keep going! I am so grateful I?ve had a full year to find those ab muscles and get my butt back up where it belongs and wasn?t forced by work to snap back into shape but it is time to make the strength, fitness and overall health of my body a priority and I am so grateful that @rachparcell shared her story and got this mama motivated!

Katherine Heigl’s career isn’t where she wants it to be, I’m assuming. Her legal drama, Doubt, was canceled by CBS about three weeks ago after just two episodes had aired. Before that she starred on NBC thriller State of Affairs, which ran for just one season before it was eliminated. Since Doubt she’s only had a voice role on The Nut Job 2 and according to IMDB has nothing else in the works. So she needs to drum up some interest and cash and what better way than by sharing a relatable story about trying to lose baby weight? So Katherine posted a too-long story to her blog, Those Heavenly Days, about how much weight she gained while pregnant with her third child, son Joshua, born on December 20th of last year. She uses a lot of words to explain how she lost all but 10 pounds of that weight already by being kind to herself or something. (This was her first pregnancy and while I normally wouldn’t distinguish between her biological and adopted children, it’s relevant to this story.) Here’s some of what she wrote and it’s all about her and how hard this was for her and body positivity, etc. Then she plugs a meal delivery service, because this is where her career is now. As an editor I would have wiped out about 70% of this essay. This is a condensed version of course:
She gained 50 pounds while pregnant
In the seven months since Joshua Jr was born I have managed to slowly but surely drop my pregnancy weight with only 10 pounds left to lose. I gained almost 50 pounds during my pregnancy and I?m not gonna lie, I had moments of sheer panic that I?d never be able to lose it all. I had hoped to only gain 25-30 pounds like my mother during her pregnancies but found that just wasn?t possible for me.
She lost 30 pounds soon after the baby was born, most of it water and baby
About ten days after Joshua Jr?s birth I got back on the scale to see where I was at and how far I had to go. I had miraculously dropped about 30 of the 50 pounds. I remember being absolutely dumbfounded and weighing myself two more times to be sure the scale was correct.
She’s lost 10 pounds since
We?ve all heard about the gals who tone up and get right back into their skinny jeans weeks after their babies birth but this was not me, nor was I trying for it to be. I have only lost 10 pounds since that first initial drop but that?s ok because I decided from the start that I was going to lovingly but patiently reclaim my pre baby body, and forgive the glorious imperfections that would forever grace my new post baby body. Like the caesarean scar that everyone said would be practically unnoticeable but in my case stretches almost hip to hip.
Her “best weight loss advice”
My best weight loss advice is to start every morning by saying out loud a positive mantra of your choice about your body. Mine is ?I am easily, with good health, inspiration, grace and gratitude losing weight faster than I can even imagine with harm to none.? Then I say my gratefuls. Thanking my body for it?s perfect health, strength, limberness, vibrancy, youthfulness and beauty.”
[From Those Heavenly Days]
“Thanking my body for it?s perfect health, strength, limberness, vibrancy, youthfulness and beauty.” You really get a sense of her personality in this essay and I’ll leave it at that.
I gained over 50 pounds during my first and only pregnancy. Like Katherine I lost about 25-30 pounds after my baby was born. Then I gained again when I stopped breastfeeding and yo-yoed for about ten years, honestly. Weight stuff is hard and it can take a while to reach a point where you’re comfortable and can stay there. In the scheme of things Katherine lost this weight quickly. Seven months is nothing, but compared to her peers I guess she was slow. I appreciate that she’s typically a very healthy not-too-thin weight. (Although I get why celebrities do that – access to fashion.) She’s an actress, so she needed to slim down fast to be considered for more roles, sadly. I mean she has other impediments to being hireable, of course. Also being perceived by the public as down to earth and likable is important. This will give her some headway, but in the end it was just a commercial. She should really focus her social media on her animal advocacy work. People love pet rescue stories but you don’t get paid for that.
Also this Instagram caption below is not correct. She does talk about eating lower calorie meals and making her calories healthy food. She also talks about cardio but not going too hard.
Hey I totally forgot to mention there's a new post up on the blog (link in bio) that covers my postpartum weight loss journey. It's actually pretty relevant for anyone looking to shed some pounds post pregnancy or not. Check it out for the before and after pics and my best weight loss advice. Hint, it has nothing to do with calories or cardio! #thoseheavenlydays

Mom-to-be Katherine Heigl enlisted her mother, Nancy, to throw her an unforgettable baby shower. The 38-year-old actress, and her husband, Josh Kelley, are expecting their first son in January, joining daughters Naleigh and Adalaide. It’s Katherine’s first pregnancy, and as much as I’m not a big fan, she certainly is rocking the pregnancy glow.
Katherine gushed about the party and shared photos of the event on her blog, Those Heavenly Days. She was happy that Mom took her (many ideas) for the party into consideration, confessing, “I?m kind of a control freak on occasion…OK more often than not, so getting to have a voice when it came to the shower was pretty awesome for me!” I can believe she’s a control freak for some reason. She said her “rustic and elegant” shower “spoke to not only the holidays, but also our mountain home in Utah where the baby will be born.” How very Goop-y of you, Katherine.
Up now on Those Heavenly Days are all the fun details, inspiration and photos from @joshbkelley and my baby shower! It was such an amazing and special event that I'm thrilled to share with all of you!

Grey?s Anatomy alum Katherine Heigl is expecting her third child, a boy, with her hubby, singer Josh Kelley, in January. The child will be joining adopted daughters Naleigh, 7, and Adalaide, 4, in the Heigl/Kelley clan.
Although the 37-year-old actress cleared the air with her Knocked Up co-star Seth Rogen a few weeks ago, she is still ranked #24 on Star Magazine?s ?Most Hated Celebrities? list. Katherine is making a return to the small screen on the new CBS legal drama, Doubt, co-starring the amazing Laverne Cox (whom I still love despite her participation in FOX?s new Rocky Horror abomination). Katherine recently talked to InTouch about her pregnancy and while she didn?t offer any earth-shattering revelations about the miracle of birth, she did spill the beans about why her hubby is ?relieved? that they?re having a boy.
On pregnancy: ?I?m just tired and hungry. I?m hungry for doughnuts every day. And if you put a cinnamon roll in front of me, it?s going to get ugly.?
On the best advice she?s received: ?the thing that I?m taking to heart is to get as much rest as I can.?
On family life during pregnancy: ?The weekends are like, ?Okay, where are we going for brunch?? and then it?s, ‘Where are we going for dinner?? The other day I came home to a bouquet of flowers and a really sweet note from the kids that I?m sure [Josh] made them write.?
Hubby Josh on having a boy: “His brother had a boy last February, and they?re already talking about their golf foursome.?
[From InTouch]
I?ve not had kids of my own, but I can only assume pregnancy would make anyone tired and hungry, right? It seems like Katherine is trying to overhaul her public image, so good on you, girl, I guess. She did recently confess on her lifestyle/crafting blog, Those Heavenly Days, that before she knew she was pregnant, she converted her daughters’ former nursery into a craft room. She reposted the image of her new (now temporary) crafting room to Instagram with the caption, ?So I turned the nursery into my craft room before I realized I was expecting a new family member. Bad timing, awesome new craft room!” Okay, that’s kind of endearing.
So I turned the nursery into my craft room before I realized I was expecting a new family member. Bad timing, awesome new craft room! Go to thoseheavenlydays.com to read my latest post and hopefully get craft room inspired! #thoseheavenlydays #badlandsranch #alittlespacetocallmyown

Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley are expecting their third child! Katherine and Josh have two daughters already, Naleigh Moon (who is already 7 years old!) and Adelaide Marie Hope (who is 4). Both girls are adopted, so this will be Heigl and Kelly?s first biological child and this is Katherine?s first pregnancy. Congrats!
Katherine Heigl is pregnant! The actress and her husband of eight years, musician Josh Kelley, are expecting their third child ? a boy! ? in January, the couple confirm to PEOPLE exclusively. Their son will join big sisters Adelaide Marie Hope, 4, and Naleigh Moon, 7.
?The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family,? the couple tells PEOPLE in a statement. ?Naleigh and Adelaide could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude.?
?This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation, and hormones. Well, only I?m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them,? Heigl jokes. ?We couldn?t be more excited to be able to finally share this news with our fans and are looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you all. xoxo, Katie and Josh.?
[From People]
I feel mean, because my first reaction to this news was ?well, she doesn?t have anything else going on.? As in, this pregnancy won?t affect her career at all because Heigl is barely working, although I checked her IMDB and she?s giving television another try? Huh. How will she find the time for a TV show in between filming kitty litter commercials though?!? Heigl did try to do an apology tour a few months back, but she couldn?t even say the appropriate words to make herself likeable. Maybe pregnancy/more babies will help out her image.

| Katherine Heigl: 'I absolutely owe anyone an apology I unwittingly offended' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kitty litter spokeswoman Katherine Heigl would like to explain why she shouldn?t have said all of the terrible things she?s said. Heigl appeared on Howard Stern?s show on Wednesday ? perhaps to shill kitty litter? ? and she and Stern ended up getting into EVERYTHING. It would involve about a million links, so perhaps it?s best to glance through our Heigl archives from the past, say, seven years. Or more. She?s been a pill for the better part of a decade and there are dozens of instances of her unpleasant attitude, diva behavior and general sourness. And what?s funny is that Howard Stern basically asked her about all of it.
On criticizing Knocked Up after it made her a star: “That was dumb. I liked the movie a lot. I just didn’t like me. She was kind of like, she was so judgmental and kind of uptight and controlling and all these things and I really went with it while we were doing it, and a lot of it, Judd allows everyone to be very free and improvise and whatever and afterwards, I was like, ‘Why is that where I went with this? What an a–hole she is!’ It was, again, one of those situations, it was a huge opportunity for me. I was being interviewed for Vanity Fair. Like, I was on the cover of Vanity Fair, it was a huge big deal for me. And the journalist…just said, ‘You know a lot of women felt it was a little sexist’ so then I felt obligated to answer that and so I tried in my very sort of ungracious way to answer why I felt that it maybe was a little.”
She admits she didn?t even call Judd Apatow to apologize: “I probably should’ve [called them]. But what I did was very, I did it publicly instead and kind of tried to say, look, this was not what I meant and this was an incredible experience for me and they were incredibly good to me on this movie, so I did not mean to s–t on them at all. I’ve thought about like, writing a note. I feel embarrassed. I don’t want it to feel insincere on any level.”
Why she announced that she was withdrawing her name from Emmy consideration in 2008: “I didn’t feel good about my performance. There was a part of me that thought, because I had won the year before, that I needed juicy, dramatic, emotional material and I just didn’t have that that season? I went in [to speak to Shonda Rhimes] ’cause I was really embarrassed. So I went in to Shonda and said, ‘I’m so sorry. That wasn’t cool. I should not have said that’…I shouldn’t have said anything publicly but at the time, I didn’t think anybody would notice. I didn’t know that journalists would see who submitted and who didn’t. I just quietly didn’t submit and then it became a story and then I felt I was obligated to make my statement and ‘shut up, Katie.’”
She owes apologies to a lot of people: “I absolutely owe anyone an apology I unwittingly offended or disrespected. I get it. It was an immature dumbass moment.”
She started going to therapy: “I started going because of the scrutiny ? and I was not handling it well. I was feeling completely like the biggest piece of s— on the bottom of your shoe. I was really struggling with it and how to not take it all really personally.”
She found herself acting timidly on sets: “I was like, ‘This is nonsense. Stop it. Get some help and own your voice.’ “
[From E! News and People]
Just my opinion: she?s still full of sh-t. You can hear the bullsh-t and lies and inadvertent truths dripping off these quotes. ??That I needed juicy, dramatic, emotional material and I just didn’t have that that season?? Meaning she still feels like she was fundamentally justified for throwing the writers under the bus. Meaning she still feels like her material was sub-par and it was her duty to say so publicly. And then: ?I’ve thought about like, writing a note. I feel embarrassed. I don’t want it to feel insincere on any level.? Why would it be ?insincere,? Heigl? Because you would just be apologizing with an eye-roll? Because she?s still pissed off that people are still disgusted by how many times she “unwittingly” offended and disrespected them.

| Katherine Heigl is now doing kitty litter commercials: sad or schadenfreude? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Katherine Heigl?s career is not going so well. She?s now doing kitty litter commercials. Let?s see how we got here? First, she was an award-winning TV actress. Then she made the jump to films and some people thought she was going to be the next rom-com princess. Then Heigl basically alienated everyone she ever worked with. She was rude, unpleasant and unprofessional, and even the trade papers were writing pieces about how awful she is to work with, and how her momager makes her even worse. Heigl tried to make the movie-star thing happen for years, then she finally deigned to come back to TV, only to see her big comeback role (on a budget Homeland-esque network show) canceled quickly.
So now Heigl is hawking Cat?s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care kitty litter. To be absolutely fair to Heigl, she can and does say that she?s doing these commercials because Cat?s Pride is donating a portion of the profits to her animal charity, The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. But the one thing we know for sure about Heigl and her momager is that they only show up if they?re getting a payday too. This isn?t even Heigl?s first foray into ?seriously, she?s doing commercials now?? She was also in a ZzzQuil commercial a few years ago. I guess money is tight? Here are the kitty little commercials:
Some will say that the schadenfreude is misplaced, or something something sexism. While I do think that there was an element of sexism in some of the Heigl stories ? like, how dare this young woman be so ?mouthy?? ? at the end of the day, she alienated so many people in the industry and general public, it feels like we?ve earned our schadenfreude. And guess what? When Shonda Rhimes calls you an a?hole, chances are pretty good that you are, in fact, an a?hole. When Shonda was creating Scandal, she told THR that after working with Katherine Heigl, she developed a ?no a?holes policy? and that on Scandal, ?There are no Heigls in this situation? I don?t put up with bullshi?t or nasty people. I don?t have time for it.? I guess the Cat?s Pride kitty litter people did have time for it.

| Katherine Heigl in Zac Posen at the Globes: incredible or too plain? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

One of my favorite looks last night was presenter Katherine Heigl’s navy blue formfitting Zac Posen gown. So Posen redeemed himself after the fug dress he made for his childhood friend, Lena Dunham. I prefer very classic, simple styles and this was just to my taste. I love the inverted v detailing at both the waist and midway down the skirt where it flares into a train. The look may have been a bit cookie cutter but I thought she was so pretty, especially with her loose curls and styling. On the red carpet with Giuliana Rancic, Heigl made the blunder of saying that Posen knows how to dress her “fuller figure,” which of course is incredibly relative in Hollywood. She’s in no way fuller, which Giuliana called her out on. I think she’s referring to “fuller” vs. sample sizes or whatever size Giuliana is.
Heigl had on blue drop earrings a statement ring and some simple bracelets. I like that her jewelry was understated and that she didn’t overwhelm the look with a large necklace.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus also wore a deceptively simple but gorgeous gown. She was in a white Narciso Rodriguez one shoulder dress that featured very light beading across the bodice and a silky, flowing skirt. She accessorized with drop earrings and a large stone ring and wore her hair loose and long. So many great choices added up to a beautiful look.
Louis-Dreyfus was up for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy, which went to Gina Rodriguez.
Also in white we have Emily Blunt in Michael Kors with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She was nominated for Into The Woods for Best Actress In A Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, which went to Amy Adams. In still photos I don’t appreciate the dress and styling as much as I did on camera. She was going for a kind of Grecian look which I found unique and pretty. I especially liked her braided updo.
