Stepping out for some promotional duties, Sienna Miller showed up at ?The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon? in New York City on Tuesday (January 13).
The ?Hippie Hippie Shake? starlet was in fine form as she strolled out onto the stage in a fabulous striped knit dress from Celine, along with her short and sassy blonde coif.
And while she was in the house to plug her new film ?American Sniper,? Sienna ended up flashing back to her ?Factory Girl? film days with Fallon.
Ms. Miller brought along some photographs from the flick, featuring Fallon?s awkwardly-dyed blonde hair and the two exchanged stories from the project.

Showing off her singer/songwriter side, Leighton Meester showed up on stage at the Hotel Caf in Hollywood last night (January 13).
The ?Gossip Girl? starlet grabbed her Taylor acoustic guitar and sang her heart out while fans and shutterbugs cheered her on.
When asked about how she writes her songs, Leighton told press, "Weirdly, it works best when I'm really busy. That's when it's a really welcome distraction. I often write on set, in the changing room or in my hotel room.?
?I'm especially creative at night - the ideas just come spilling out. It doesn't work the other way around: when I sit down to write in a moment of peace and quiet, I just go blank and get writers' block."

Here’s a photo of Miley Cyrus at a W magazine event in LA last weekend. She’s wearing a Balmain suit, which reminds me of a caped Elvis outfit. It’s not bad though, and Miley looks demure compared to what was coming. She’s so thirsty for attention, and I’m going to reluctantly give it to her during this slow news cycle. Miley wants so badly to top her own antics, which is becoming difficult after her “Wrecking Ball” video. She graduated to popping a squat on Instagram and showing off her 5-foot bong to look rebellious.
Now Miley’s stuntqueening has reached new heights. She appears in series of polaroids, which were taken by her assistant, Cheyne Thomas, during her Bangers tour. The result is a very NSFW set of photos for W mag. She’s wearing nothing in most of these pics. I’ll say something nice — she’s not surgically enhanced, which is a rarity. Since they’re polaroids, the assumption is that no airbrushing took place.
The shoot is supposed to be shocking. I think Miley wants to make a statement about taking it off on her own terms, and not posing for one of “those” magazines to do so. But of course this is all about attention. Miley thinks she’s the first person to ever take it off, ever. She looks at herself as a leading feminist and super artiste. These photos will spark a revolution, y’all! Bow down and respect Miley, the trailblazer.

Fresh off the heels of the success of Gone Girl, Ben Affleck, director David Fincher and writer Gillian Flynn are teaming up again to redo a Hitchcock classic from 1951, Strangers on a Train. Deadline has the details, along with the fact that the film will change some plot points and take place in modern times. It’s surprising that Affleck is taking on this project, considering how busy he’ll soon be with his Battfleck duties. Deadline says he’ll fit it all in, though:
Ben Affleck and David Fincher will reteam on a Warner Bros remake of the classic Hitchcock thriller Strangers On A Train. Gillian Flynn, who adapted her novel Gone Girl for Fincher and Affleck, is in talks to write the script. The film will be produced by Affleck under Pearl Street, the Warner Bros-based banner he runs with Matt Damon. WB?s Jon Berg is overseeing. They are calling it Strangers.
Although the Hitchcock remake ? a Warner Bros library title and an adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novel ? will be its basis, this film will be contemporary and redefined for the times. This one might be best titled Strangers On A Plane, as Affleck will play a variation of the role played by Farley Granger of a tennis pro who is bored with his marriage and wants to get divorced but instead gets entwined with a wealthy socialite psycho who proposes the notion of exchanging murders. The twist here is a compelling one. Affleck will play a movie star in the middle of a campaign for an Oscar during awards season whose private plane breaks down and is given a ride to LA on another plane by a wealthy stranger. In Fincher?s hands, who knows how that goes, but it sure does seem like fertile ground.

My initial, gut response is “oh hell no.” I haven’t seen this film in over 10 years but I remember how excellent it was, and it’s frustrating to see classics get remade because studios are afraid to take chances with new material. (With the exception of best selling books.) I was going to ask, what’s next: Rebecca, Vertigo, Rear Window? The thing is, all of those Hitchcock classics have been remade in some capacity, we just haven’t heard much about them.
Plus, I have to admit that I marathoned A&E’s newish series, Bates Motel, over the holidays. It’s a prequel to Psycho, set in current day and starring Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore. It is SO GOOD. The writing and acting are excellent and the plot is juicy and soapy yet never veers into melodrama. So Hitchcock’s work can be used as a springboard for other, similarly creepy stories, sometimes borrowing heavily from the incredible source material. Hopefully Gillian Flynn and David Fincher can do Hitchcock justice. I’m concerned about Affleck in the lead, but he’s passable usually.
Oh and I had to read DListed to figure out the significance of Affleck playing an Oscar nominated actor who wants his wife dead. I wonder whose initial idea this project was.

Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart outside and inside of a screening for Still Alice in NYC last night. She was out and about in New York all day yesterday promoting the film with Julianne Moore and Kate Bosworth. Julianne is pretty much the frontrunner in the Best Actress race and ? just my opinion ? Julianne can and should be doing the bulk of the promotional work. But Julianne is a generous person and she probably enjoys having the younger girls around. Kristen?s dress last night (which you can see in greater detail below) was Roksanda?s Ellsworth dress. K-Stew and her see-through dresses? I?m over it. But I appreciate that she pulled together a real red carpet look. I wouldn?t mind seeing her at the Oscars this year? as a presenter.
Kristen and Julianne sat down for a HuffPo interview ? you can see the video here (it?s autoplay). Kristen was asked about her recent remarks about taking some time off from Hollywood to just live in her LA loft and work on her art projects. Kristen said that those stories were spun by the tabloids to make it sound like she was quitting Hollywood. Her thoughts on the tabs: ?There is like, you know, a whole other form of entertainment that is just voraciously consumed. It’s funny, you know, you do an interview and someone says, ‘Oh you’ve been working a lot? What are you planning on doing now?’ And you say, ‘Uh, I’m just going to take a second and like do something other than that,’ and then ‘Kristen Stewart Quits Hollywood!’ I basically have started a self-led middle school art class in my garage and it’s so cool. It feels so good!” She says people should take the tabloids with a ?whole big boulder of salt.? Huh. So then we shouldn?t believe the evidence we have that Kristen is with Alicia?

Here?s an interesting final note about the Amy Adams/Today Show debacle that went down just before Christmas. Amy hosted Saturday Night Live?s last show of 2014, and she stayed in NYC an extra day just to appear on Today. Producers told her that she was going to get some questions about the Sony Hack and Amy said she would prefer not to, but Amy has always said that she was just stating her preference and that she would just say ?no comment? if she was asked. But Today producers kicked her off the show anyway, for being ?demanding? etc. Harvey Weinstein threw a fit and the whole situation was pretty bad? for the Today Show. They tried to make her sound unprofessional and diva-ish when she?s anything but. Well, here?s the final note: Amy did a live interview with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie on the red carpet of the Golden Globes. Is all forgiven?
Meanwhile, during a different Globes red carpet interview, Amy talked more about how she worked at Hooters when she was 18 years old. She?s previously admitted that she?s worked there before, but in this interview, she talks about how ?great? it was.
Apparently, Amy Adams is used to showing off her Golden Globes. Adams ? who was looking stunning in a draped Versace gown ? stopped by to talk with ET’s Nancy O’Dell on the Golden Globes carpet, and she spilled details on her past job as a Hooters waitress.
“I would be proud of that,” O’Dell told the Big Eyes actress. “I would be like, ‘I had the body, people!’”
Adams revealed that despite her petite frame, she was much more curvaceous in her youth. “Well I was like 18, so everybody has the body at 18,” she said. “But it was a great job out of high school and I was a hostess at first, and then I waited tables for a while, and it was great. It was a great way for me to earn money for college.”
When asked if she ever imagined that she would go from a Hooters waitress to a multi-award winning actress, Adams was candid in her response: “No I never did,” she said. “I never dreamed this big. I really thought I didn?t know what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a dancer on stage, and it has just led to this so I’m just very fortunate.”

Of all the celebrity ladies out there today, Amy is like the least likely choice to work at Hooters! I would pick Cameron Diaz or Kaley Cuoco, you know? But I like that Amy didn?t throw shade at the restaurant chain. She probably did make a lot in tips ? the men that go to Hooters tip really well.

The Hypocrisy Police came out in force yesterday when Zooey Deschanel announced her pregnancy. I didn?t even remember Zooey having a lot of quotes about not wanting children, but then I looked through our archives? and yeah. Okay. I see it now. First, the happy news. Zooey is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Jacob Pechnik. Zooey confirmed the news to People, saying: ?Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.?
She?s due this summer, and New Girl probably won?t be affected that much. Like, they?re not going to make Jess pregnant. Zooey will finish filming this season for the next few months, then she?ll give birth over the hiatus and maybe the next season?s premiere will be pushed back a month or two. You can read more about it here on E! ? I think it?s interesting that they?re taking such pains to say that the show won?t be affected. When Zooey?s sister Emily got pregnant with her first kid, it really screwed up Bones. They had to make the character pregnant and the schedule got really messed up and it took Bones like two seasons to get back on track.
Now, on to the Hypocrisy Police. Back in 2012, Zooey told Marie Claire that having kids has ?never been my focus? and that motherhood was ?never an ambition? I like working. That?s what I like doing. I like to work.? Then, in 2014, she talked about getting the ?do you want babies? question all the time. She said:
?When I was married, that was the first thing people wanted to know. Like every woman is dying to give birth! I don?t think so. Nobody asks guys that. And you go into a supermarket and every tabloid is like, ?Pregnant and Alone!? Stuck in this 1950s ideal of how a woman should live her life. This brings out the fiery feminist in me. That?s not something that defines me at all.??

So, is Zooey a terrible, terrible hypocrite? Eh. I think she was defending her life choices at the time, and now those life choices have changed (because choice is choice). She was standing up for the idea of being childfree. She was defending people who do not have that maternal urge. And that was then. And this is now. I don?t think she should be bashed for saying what she said then.

Here are some photos of Sienna Miller in NYC the day after the Golden Globes. That was quick, right? She must have ditched the Miu Miu dress, caught a red-eye flight, and skipped the parties … which is quite unlike the Sienna we used to know. Perhaps she’s in New York to study up for the Cabaret role. Has anyone seen Tom Sturridge lately? I’m not suggesting there are problems. He’s been absent from pap photos lately, that’s all.
American Sniper goes into wide release this weekend. Sienna’s hustling for her project, as she should. She’s also hustling for herself, as she should. Sienna’s been pushing the motherhood transformation, which is a valuable tool in Hollywood. People have forgotten all about Sienna’s love affairs with Balthazar Getty, Rhys Ifans, Daniel Craig, and Jude Law. I’m not shading her! Hollywood is all about different levels and shades of PR, and Sienna is playing the game well. Now she’s getting real with her tale of protracted childbirth. Some excerpts:
A rough childbirth: “My birth went all wrong. I had my heart set on this natural water birth and I ended up, after 27 hours, having an emergency C-section.”
Motherhood is “really complicated”: “I spent so much time thinking about the birth and not realizing that you take a baby home at the end of it. It’s a shock, of course it is, and some people find it really easy, but for me I found it really hard.”
Identifiying with her Sniper character: “I think being a mother and playing a mother, yes, I understand motherhood in a way I just couldn’t before. I had a huge amount of empathy for Taya. To be going through motherhood on her own, not knowing whether her husband would survive every day, I can’t imagine how difficult that would be. Especially because that experience of motherhood for me was really complicated.”

27 hours? Ouch. I googled the average length of a first childbirth and landed on 6-12 hours as a result. 27 hours seems ungodly. I’m thinking back to how long my experience lasted, but I was in denial until the final few hours. 10 hours, maybe? Everyone is different.
Sienna does well in this interview. She touches on the common experience of childbirth and swiftly moves onto her military wife character. That’s smart, considering the movie’s target audience. Kyla Kyle had a rough time with her husband’s struggle abroad, but that’s not all. Sienna’s role isn’t a stereotypical “wife” role, and she has Clint Eastwood’s endorsement. She’s making all the right moves right now. Good for her.

Bethenny Frankel has been critiqued in the press and on social media for the fact that she’s very thin. This criticism hasn’t come out of the blue; Bethenny poses for the paparazzi in her bikini regularly and posts bikini pics on social media. She also tweeted a photo of herself last year wearing her four year-old daughter Bryn’s pajamas. There are plenty of other very thin celebrities but they aren’t courting controversy like Bethenny.
In an appearance on Meredith Vieira’s talkshow, Bethenny sort-of addressed criticism over her tiny frame. She deflected the question and then acted like it was ridiculous.
Later, Frankel took the opportunity to address the rumors surrounding her slim figure.
After photos surfaced of the reality star looking thinner than usual in a bikini, some fans sounded the alarm, calling the Skinnygirl founder ?too skinny? and ?unhealthy.?
But Frankel wouldn?t have any of that nonsense. ?I was sick over the holidays,? she shared with Vieira. ?I don?t know, do I look bad? Do I look like I need to eat a burger??
The star added, ?I don?t know. I feel like, ?Who cares?? They are always going to say something. I do have a brand called Skinnygirl, so I am going to get beaten up for it. It would be bad if I were overweight and had a brand called Skinnygirl, could you imagine??

Years ago I read an excellent book by the late Carl Sagan called The Demon Haunted World. To encourage people to critically evaluate information, Sagan outlines common logical fallacies. One rhetorical fallacy is the argument of “excluded middle or false dichotomy.” He describes it as “considering only the two extremes in a continuum of intermediate possibilities.” So, in Bethenny’s mind she’s either the way she is or she’s overweight, never considering that she could gain weight and still be healthy. I’m not knocking her size, I’m just pointing out that she’s making a poor argument. Plus she uses another common fallacy, the “argument from adverse consequences.” If she was overweight, which is her only other option, then her brand would suffer.
This isn’t that important. Bethenny isn’t arguing against climate change, she’s just a reality star defending her right to be tiny and demonstrative. It just struck me that Bethenny never acknowledged that some people see her as underweight and she didn’t really address the issue, she just made a couple of flawed arguments, suggesting no one should even bring it up.
Radar also claims that Bethenny is having problems on the set of Real Housewives of NY, which she returned to following the cancellation of her talkshow. Bethenny isn’t arguing and fighting with the other castmembers as expected, and she refuses to discuss her failed marriage. A source tells Radar “Whenever her marriage is discussed, Bethenny walks off the set.” Bethenny needs to play the game if she’s going to be on the show. Conflict is their bread and butter. Not that Bethenny touches either.
