Fey adds, ?It's another coping mechanism - it's a bad coping mechanism - but when you feel less than (in high school everyone feels less than everyone else for different reasons), in your mind it's a way of leveling the playing field. Though of course it's not. Saying something terrible about someone else does not actually level the playing field. If I meet a girl of 14 or 15 today who is that kind of girl, I am secretly, in my body, afraid. Even though I'm 45.?

Here?s an early Christmas present, from me to you. Keanu Reeves has been filming John Wick 2 for a few months, and we?ve had tons of set photos, none of which were really all that interesting. But this week, Keanu has been filming in NYC, specifically on the Brooklyn Bridge. And in a moment of downtime, Keanu took his pit bull puppy for a walk on the bridge.
This dog is amazing ? he?s a beautiful color and he?s got beautiful markings. I cannot for life of me find out what this dog?s name is, or even if the dog is a he or she. Most press outlets do say that this pit bull isn?t a stunt dog though ? this isn?t just a dog for the movie, this is really Keanu?s dog? As for John Wick 2, guess what? It?s going to be a mini-Matrix reunion! Laurence Fishburne has filmed a cameo for the film.
Keanu is 51 years old. To me, he?s everything that an older bachelor should be ? he?s not afraid of commitment, he?s had his heart broken, he lives a mostly quiet life with his dog, etc. Sigh? I love him. Keanu is forever.

Rita ?American Takeover-er? Ora covers Elle Canada?s February Issue. I love the fashion in the editorial, but it?s 70s/80s influenced so it speaks to me – you can see it here. Rita has a dynamite body and I love her new short spikey do. I mention the hair because in the interview she is wafflingabout wearing short or long hair to meet someone and I am sure my opinion will matter to her.
Rita is always game to tell you how amazing Rita is, which makes my job much easier. Although Rita is one of the many eye-roll exercises I perform regularly, I don?t have a problem with her hustle. I love to watch a good hustle. Generally, I prefer a good hustle with something worth hustling behind it but Rita has her thing:
Ora worked tirelessly on creating a brand that centres on?you guessed it?connection. ?It has always been a dream of mine to create this cult,? she says. ?Back in the day, when punk was a lifestyle, people used to gather in underground raves and punk out. I know it?s different now because everything is so much more exposed. But even if it?s only 10 people, it?s my movement.?
When asked how she has changed the most since being signed by Jay Z and releasing that first album, the conversation quickly turns to fame. ?I wonder what makes everyone so interested in me,? ponders Ora. ?It has made me really think about every move I make; it has made me more self-conscious. I always wanted the attention, but then when I started to get it, it made me second-guess everything.?
Since 2012, Ora?s follow-up album has been imminent, but it was held up for unknown reasons. ?I just haven?t been prepared to put it out, and that?s the truth. But I?m happy that I delayed the album because otherwise I don?t think the people who haven?t heard my music would have the right impression of me because that isn?t who I am.?

To me, forming a cult from scratch is a bit ambitious. Maybe start with a coffee circle, grow into a book club and expand into a happy hour crowd that eventually evolves into your cult; don?t sprint out of the gate. Props to her for owning the fact she wanted the fame; she may overestimate our interest in her but she is never going to pretend she isn?t chasing it like a $20 bill caught in the wind.
As for the mythical album, it has been promised for 3 years. This album will be a reintroduction to Rita and her music. It?s not that the album isn?t finished; she just hasn?t released it yet? *Deep breath* Here?s the thing, it?s okay to have an album delayed or cultivated or germinating alongside your underground Book Club Cult but hyping it as a ?reintroduction? is a rocky slope. Rita has released two songs since Ora and although there is some deviation from sugary pop, the pervasive drumbeat is in the background and the up-beat still wins out – she didn?t go dark, just sepia.
Note by Celebitchy: Rita has sued Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label in an attempt to get out of her contract, which has been in force for seven years. Her lawsuit states that they have lost interest in her due to management changes and that she is footing the bill for her own promotion. You can read more here.

The 2016 elections will go on without Will Smith as a candidate (not that things aren’t interesting enough right now). On last weekend’s CBS Sunday Morning, the 47-year-old actor and rapper discussed his role in the upcoming movie, Concussion. Will plays Nigerian forensic pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu, who went head-to-head with the NFL after publishing a paper detailing the brain damage experienced by a former football player.
In addition to showing off his (uncanny) impersonation of the good doctor – with the real Dr. Omalu sitting right next to him, Will hinted that movie and music stardom may not be his only life goals. He told CBS reporter Tracy Smith, “There’s a thing I’m supposed to be doing. There’s so much more that I feel I have to offer that I can’t reach myself.” When asked how he could find out that elusive thing, Will said “If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they?ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they?re going to force me into the political arena,” and, when further prodded added, “I mean, I gotta be the president. What else would I run for? Come on!”

If it seemed like Will was kidding around about running for president in the interview, you would be right. At the New York premiere of Concussion, Will told ET, ?I was really kind of joking when I said that.? He added that his role as Dr. Omalu in the film awoke some political aspirations, stating ?Dr. Omalu has such a positive view of America and the American dream. As an actor, being able to be a part of that and to feel from the outsider’s perspective how great this country is, I sort of got inspired as I was looking at the current political landscape. I was inspired to defend the ideals that help build such a beautiful country.?
Sunday’s interview wasn’t the first time Will alluded to a possible career in politics. On an episode of the Awards Chatter podcast last month, he mused, “As I look at the political landscape, I think that there might be a future out there for me. They might need me out there. This is the first year that I?ve been incensed to a level that I can?t sleep, you know? So I?m feeling that at some point, in the near future, I will have to lend my voice to the conversation in a somewhat different way.”
Will might want to have a speech ready, but not for political office. Critics are saying that his performance in Concussion could earn Will his third Oscar nomination (he was previously nominated for Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness) – and they say that the third time’s the charm.
Will doesn’t have the time to run for president… unless he makes his reunion tour with DJ Jazzy Jeff into a series of political rallies. It would be kind of cool for him to revive his first hit and take the stage with “Politicians Just Don’t Understand”!

Bar Refaeli is an Israeli citizen, and her home country is not happy with her at all. I actually thought the Israeli authorities would have been pissed about the fact that she weaseled out of the compulsory military service required of every Israeli citizen, but as it turns out, it was a money issue that got Bar Refaeli in the end. While Bar is an Israeli citizen, for tax purposes she claimed that she lived abroad? when really she kept a variety of homes in Israel? Something like that. All they?re saying is that she failed to pay taxes on ?dozens of millions of shekels? worth of income. Girl got arrested! They arrested her mom too!! Ooooh, my mother would just kill me if she got arrested for something I did.
Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli has been arrested for allegedly evading millions of dollars worth of taxes by lying about where she lived, Israeli authorities said Thursday. She?s also suspected of receiving more than $257,000 in free benefits, including luxury apartments and cars, that she never reported, the Agence France-Presse reported. Refaeli?s mom, Zipora, was also busted, Israel?s Tax Authority said, adding that the unreported income amounted to ?dozens of millions of shekels.?
To avoid paying taxes, Refaeli and her mom claimed that the model lived outside of the country, the Tax Authority charged. Refaeli, who was Israeli?s highest-paid model in 2013, was staying in luxury apartments registered under her mother?s and brother?s names ? and used a free Range Rover and Lexus. The top model and her mom were also given other ?celebrity discounts,? like free interior decorating, that should?ve been reported, Israeli authorties alleged.
Refaeli and her mom?s home was raided this week ? and on Thursday they were arrested and released on bail. They were forced to fork over their passports and can?t leave Israel without permission for 180 days. Refaeli?s lawyers declined to comment.

While Bar is no longer working as steadily as many of the younger models, she still works and she still needs to travel. So the fact that the Israeli authorities are holding on to her passport has got to hurt. Beyond that, this seems like a pretty obvious tax dodge ? putting real estate in your family members? names when the properties really belong to you, not declaring free ?gifts? and heavily discounted items, etc. Since I don?t know much about Israeli tax law, my guess is that Bar and her mom will have to pay some hefty back taxes AND fines just to get out of this. And even then, there?s a chance one or both of them could end up doing some minor jail time, depending on the egregiousness of the tax evasion (which sounds extensive right now, but who knows).
