Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck one month ago exactly. Following that divorce filing, she spent one full week getting her side out there, with ?sources? telling People Magazine what actually happened behind the scenes in the past year. There were stories about Ben?s mood swings, and how Ben basically ghosted her in April and began moving his sh-t out of their house while she was working in New York. Ben was also the one behind their documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, and on and on. Basically, Jennifer was washing her hands of Ben and ensuring that she didn?t get the blame for everything that went down. I also believe Jen was behind the Kick Kennedy rumors too Ben was seeing or is seeing Kick Kennedy, which likely started over the summer.
Anyway, all of that worked. Jennifer has, from where I sit, positioned herself pretty well. She?s hurt and sad, but she?s also making her peace with the fact that Ben sucks. Then there was a disruption in this ?onwards? energy last weekend, when Ben and J.Lo pap-strolled at the Beverly Hills Hotel with their kids. Reportedly, Ben was handsy with her and they were kissing and being affectionate. Ben gets turned on when a woman publicly puts him on blast, apparently. Well, Bennifer reunited once again this week:

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ the exes were seen making their way to the back-to-school night Tuesday at an L.A. area school where they each have kids that attend. Our sources tell us the exes were totally cool with each other and very cordial.
But don?t get it twisted our sources are adamant they?re not rekindling anything theyre still getting divorced.
Were told theyre a couple who still care for each other theyre wrapped up in a years-long love affair.
But their kids are the real focus. Just last week, the two, along with their respective children, were spotted at The Beverly Hills Hotel, where witnesses saw them kissing and holding hands during the lunch.

As I said in the hotel photos from last weekend Ben?s kids seem to get along really well with Jennifer, and Jennifer?s kids were giving Ben the ?he ain?t sh-t? stinkeye. I don?t think Max and Emme want any part of this, but Ben?s kids are so disappointed that their dad fked up another marriage. Anyway, I absolutely hope that Jennifer has given up on Ben and that none of these outings lead to reconciliation. That being said, I feel like J.Lo is exactly the kind of woman who will keep making this same mistake, over and over.
One nice thing J.Lo appeared at Kamala Harriss Michigan town hall, hosted by Oprah. Jennifer appeared virtually! Shes a big Dem and she hates Trump.

As we discussed, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were out in Beverly Hills on Saturday with their children. They went to the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel for lunch, and they got pap?d going into and out of the hotel. In front of the cameras, their body language seemed weird, not loved up. At one point, it looked like Ben was getting in Jennifer?s face about something. Jennifer also seems close to his kids one of them gave Jen a big hug as they said goodbye, while Max and Emme were seemingly giving Ben the stinkeye. Having watched the way everything has gone down in the past four weeks, I?m getting the vibe that people in Ben?s life are actually disappointed in him and sad that he sabotaged this marriage. Those people include his kids.
While the photos have a weird energy, Page Six was the only outlet claiming that Jennifer and Ben were actually kissing and affectionate while having lunch at the Polo Lounge. Now a new Page Six story claims that Ben couldn?t keep his hands off of Jen, and it was also his idea to do the pap stroll outside the hotel.
Ben Affleck ?could not keep his hands off? Jennifer Lopez at their brunch on Saturday, a source exclusively told Page Six. The ?Argo? director wanted to meet his estranged wife at the Beverly Hills Hotel to show that they?re ?friends,? and get their pics taken. But he wound up not being able to keep his hands off his ex, sources exclusively told us.
The estranged couple was having brunch with their children at the famed Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Saturday ? and the stars were seen ?holding hands and kissing.?
A source tells us it was the ?Justice League? star?s idea for the former pair to meet at the high-profile spot in hopes of getting their pic snapped. But Affleck apparently wasn?t counting on finding the ?On The Floor? singer so irresistible in person, says our source.
?Once they were together, he could not keep his hands off,? our source said.
The insider added, ?They have always had a lot of sexual chemistry. That was not planned. They are still attracted to one another.?
?It was Ben Affleck?s idea to meet there,? the insider said. ?He wanted to show that they are friendly exes. He wanted those photos. You go there when you want to be seen. Paparazzi hang out there.?

For what it?s worth, Jennifer?s team clearly went to People Magazine to dampen the speculation that the Bennifer Reunification is back on. Sources close to J.Lo maintain that this whole thing was just a ?fun lunch so the kids could hang out? and that Jen is ?trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though. They are working out financial details amicably. The same source said: A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesnt want to be selfish about it. The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.
So what the hell is going on? My theory is that Jennifer actually believed that she was done with Ben and she made sure that she fought back and let everyone know that she?s not the reason why they?re divorcing, that Ben is moody and he shut down and ghosted her. But Ben loves nothing more than when she?s suddenly unavailable to him. All I know is that his side is suddenly very eager to make it sound like Ben is open to giving it another go. If that happens, it will break me, ISTG.

Soon after Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, we heard that Jennifer still planned to attend the Toronto International Film Festival to support Unstoppable, a film which was produced by Ben. Ben skipped TIFF altogether, so J.Lo went solo at the premiere. Matt Damon went to TIFF as well (Damon also produced the film). While J.Lo and Matt didn?t make a big show of support for one another, they did pose together briefly at the premiere, with other people.
Jennifer did the most to serve FACE and BODY and it worked. The body is incredible, and the face is holding up. Her premiere look was Tamara Ralph a slinky mirrored dress tied at the sides with ribbons. Jennifer was not wearing a bra or knickers. She?s really going through it. I mean, I love this she didn?t show up to the premiere looking like a sad sack or like the Widow Affleck. She?s like badda-boom, I?m glamorous and I won?t apologize for it.
Speaking of no apologies, the Hollywood Reporter overheard Jennifer telling Bobby Cannavale that she?s a ?bad picker? when it comes to guys and then she said, ?It is what it is.? It?s true. She is a bad picker or she has a bad picker. But as I?ve said, the more I hear about the way Ben courted her and went after her, the more I understand why she fell for him again. She really did not expect him to just lose interest and ghost her.
Incidentally, it?s always widely rumored that Matt Damon and J.Lo can?t stand each other. I think there?s always been more nuance to it back in the Original Bennifer days, I think Matt was more of the opinion that Ben was in over his head and about to crash out, big-time (which was true). But I do believe Matt was somewhat supportive for the second go-around, and Ben and J.Lo socialized with Matt and his wife Luciana. Well, People Mag reported exclusively that Jennifer and Matt ?hung out and talked for over 20 minutes at the afterparty, which was held at EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton.? She joined Matt and Luciana at a table at the party, and then ?Jen and Matt began talking and had a long, deep conversation? according to a source. At one point, their conversation seemed serious and they clasped hands as they spoke. I wonder what Matt thinks about everything that?s gone down this summer.

When did we, as a society, decide that September 1st marks the beginning of fall? I saw so many ?end of summer? stories and social media posts, and I read all of them in 80-degree heat as my AC blasted. Autumn doesn?t really begin until mid-September, in my opinion. Now musical and The Greatest Love Story Never Told documentary, you could see that she genuinely believed that this was it, that this was her last marriage, that Ben was The One. In her mind, she was celebrating the idea that their love was real and they found their way back to each other. Everything fell apart as she was making those projects, I absolutely believe that.
People Mag also confirms that Jennifer began looking for her own separate house in LA in April. She listed April 26th as their separation date, so there was some kind of falling out or fight or something that month.

?He was unhappy with paparazzi following them. She is an international superstar, and he acted like it came as a surprise that they would be followed around,? the source said. I felt like Page Six was talking out of their ass so I actually looked back into the 2022 archives. I had no memory of a ?honeymoon in Como.? What happened is that after the Las Vegas wedding, Ben and J.Lo took their kids to Paris and they had a family vacation/honeymoon in France in July 2022. Then Bennifer had their second wedding in Georgia in August 2022, and after that, Ben and Jen went on a no-kids honeymoon in Como. They got pap?d constantly on the Paris trip (the photos were amazing, honestly), but the Como honeymoon was relatively low-key. There were some long-lens pap photos when they went out to dinner, but beyond that, we actually didn?t see much of them?
All of which to say, I think J.Lo?s fame was a factor, just as I think Ben?s sobriety was a factor. But their marriage failed for a variety of reasons, reasons which were compounded when Ben basically decided he was over it and he stopped trying.

Lopez filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024 as the date of separation. She filed for divorce herself without using a lawyer and is technically self-represented. Although they married in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022, Aug. 20 marked the second anniversary of the traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia.
The singer did not say if there was a prenuptial agreement, and sources told TMZ there is none.

Ben supported her through that promotional blitz but you could tell that he was checked out of the marriage, especially given that the documentary revealed that J.Lo shared all of Ben?s love letters to her friends, music producers and songwriters. By May of this year, that?s when In Touch Weekly was the first to report that Jennifer and Ben had separated. Looks like that report was right on the money. Sigh? Look who?s back in LA! Jennifer Lopez traveled to her home in the Hamptons before the Fourth of July. She was there for well over a month a month full of chaos, divorce rumors and apparently little to no communication with Ben Affleck. Now she?s back in LA and she?s shopping for real estate. That?s what these photos show J.Lo was checking out a property in Bel Air.
As for all of the gossip? the past 48 hours have been a whirlwind of briefings from ?sources.? Chatty-ass sources are spilling their guts about Bennifer to TMZ, the Mail, Entertainment Tonight, Page Six and People Magazine. The broad strokes: Ben and Jen are not speaking to one another, they?re communicating through their managers, they will eventually file for divorce but they want to work out the details before they announce anything, and there?s a great deal of humiliation and embarrassment for all involved. Just a few weeks ago, I was much more hopeful about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. While I thought they were going through a bad patch, I took hope in the fact that J.Lo seemed to want to stay married to Ben, and that she seemed to believe that she could win him back somehow. But nowadays? it looks pretty bad. How did we go from ?J.Lo is trying to make Ben chase her? to ?they hate each other and they aren?t even speaking anymore?? That?s apparently the state of play, at least according to TMZ:
Things are not amicable between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck the lines of communication are closed and its making it difficult to hammer out a divorce agreement. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ? J Lo and Ben are not speaking to one another in person or over the phone and its really slowing down their divorce.
Ben and Jens icy relationship is really the only thing preventing this from being a quickie divorce were told they have a prenup and the only asset they have to divide is their Beverly Hills mansion, which is on the market.
Our sources say J Lo and Ben have NOT hired lawyers and are instead having everything go through their respective business managers, who are trying to figure out the financials behind the divorce but its complicated because the principals are not talking.
TMZ broke the stories the estranged couples Bev Hills estate is on the market for $68 million and Ben just closed on his own $20.5 million mansion in Brentwood, as Jen remains on the hunt for a house of her own. Ben closed escrow on the house the same day Jennifer turned 55 thats just a coincidence, but we do know there is no love lost between the two.
Ben and J Lo will eventually hire divorce lawyers, and were told no documents will be filed until they reach a settlement. They will file legal docs requesting a divorce, the judge will sign it and that will be that. But until Ben and Jen start talking again, things will continue moving at a snails pace.

My thing is that I simply don?t believe that any of this was about money, nor do I think the financial part of a seemingly inevitable divorce is the sticking point. The fact that their business managers are apparently doing the negotiating is WILD, but it also points to this whole thing being deeply unserious. Like? if you?re getting a divorce, grow up and hire a fking lawyer. You?re both in your 50s, stop playing telephone games and passing messages through Benny Medina and whoever. I sort of believe that they?re trying to be super-quiet about whatever negotiations are going on behind the scenes, but I also believe that both Ben and Jennifer are incredibly embarrassed. Like, this marriage blew up in both of their faces and they both look like idiots. That?s the biggest reason for the slow-moving divorce they?re both like ?wow, our images are going to take a huge hit when we file for divorce.?
