| Princess Kate will make two public appearances this weekend for Remembrance | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Looking back on the Princess of Wales?s appearances in the fall of 2023, I completely buy that she was already in really poor health even then, and something happened over the Christmas holiday which meant surgery and a lengthy recuperation. What I?ve never understood is why Kensington Palace and Kate herself never considered disclosing more or anything at all about what she was going through last year, nor any information about her surgery (or surgeries) this year. I was thinking about that as I pulled the photos of Kate at last year?s Remembrance events, because Kate is making another rare public appearance this weekend for Remembrance.
Kate Middleton will join the royal family for the annual Festival of Remembrance and Remembrance Sunday after completing chemotherapy. On Nov. 9, the Princess of Wales, 42, will join her husband Prince William and other family members for the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall, according to Buckingham Palace. She will then take part in the royals traditional appearance at The Cenotaph war memorial in London to remember those who died in war and conflict on Remembrance Sunday, Nov. 10.
Remembrance Sunday is observed on the second Sunday of every November in the U.K., and the royal familys website calls The Cenotaph ceremony the focal point of the nations homage.
This weekend will mark Princess Kates first appearance at a major ceremonial event since she announced on Sept. 9 that she completed chemo, after sharing in March that she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Buckingham Palace confirmed on Nov. 8 that King Charles, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent would attend the Festival of Remembrance and Remembrance Sunday. As she continues to recover from a chest infection, Queen Camillas attendance wasnt confirmed for either event.
[From People]
Re: Queen Camilla?s non-confirmation of attendance, it?s worth noting that Camilla IS confirmed for next week?s Gladiator II premiere. So they think she?ll be well enough from her chest infection to go to a premiere, but not well enough to stand on a balcony at the Cenotaph? Interesting. As for the confirmation that Kate will attend both events, I figured she would. The only thing surprising is that the confirmation came from Buckingham Palace (and not KP) and that Kate didn?t issue another photo or video ahead of Remembrance Day, so that everything could be centered on her.

| Nicole Scherzinger left a supportive comment on Russell Brand's MAGA post | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Russell Brand has been credibly accused of multiple sexual assaults, rapes and more. As the accusations have rolled in, Brand has remade his public persona into an international right-wing grifter, one of the many men selling a particularly toxic and misogynistic worldview to young men, all of it couched in a sort of nouveau Evangelicalism. He?s gone full-throttle with it this year, as various law enforcement agencies build criminal cases against him.
On Election Night, Brand posted a photo of himself holding a red hat which is designed to look like a MAGA hat, but reads ?Make Jesus First Again.? Brand is obviously a Trump supporter they?re both rapists draping themselves in Christianity to con the rubes. But what no one expected was for Nicole Scherzinger to leave a supportive comment on Brand?s post. She wrote: ?Where do I get this hat!!!?? with prayer emoji and a red heart. So? Nicole Scherzinger is a Trump-supporting MAGAt who also thinks a credibly accused and soon-to-be-prosecuted sexual predator is cool for his dumbfk fake Evangelical BS? The way people show their whole asses without even trying. Peep the other receipt of Nicole?s Trumpism too.

| Heidi Klum had never heard of Earthshot before Prince William's people got in touch | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

A few weeks ago, Kensington Palace breathlessly briefed the media that Prince William planned to hang out with supermodels when he visited Cape Town, South Africa for Earthshot. William definitely wanted people to think that beautiful women regularly beg him to hang out because they love nothing more than angry eggs with sad struggle-beards. As I?ve mentioned a few times, I believed that Kensington Palace basically hires various celebrities and models to ?appear? at Earthshot Prize ceremonies, and it would not surprise me if Earthshot had to pay appearance fees to those celebrities. All because William is a giant loser who is doing all of this to hang out with famous people.
Well, guess what? Heidi Klum was one of the special guests in Cape Town, and she dutifully walked the green carpet at the Earthshot ceremony on Wednesday. When she was asked about her support of Earthshot, she said: ?I have to be honest, I had never heard of this before, and it was really when Prince William?s team came to me and asked me if I would want to join [up] and come to South Africa??
Oops, this is embarrassing! Reporter asks Heidi Klum what Earthshi*t hopes to achieve & she?s forced to confess she?d never heard of it before & only came cause she was approached & asked to travel to South Africa by Willy?s team. #DesperateTimes #WorkShyWilly pic.twitter.com/7fR8digmSN

| Ridley Scott: Actors 'don't have to do any prep except learn their lines' | Added 5 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Gladiator II, the long-awaited sequel, comes out in just two weeks. I definitely need to do a rewatch of the original 2000 film, but I remember what a big deal it was when it came out. Russell Crowe won an Oscar for his leading role as Maximus, and many people thought Ridley Scott should have won for directing as well (Steven Soderbergh won that year for Traffic). Given the strong reception Gladiator II is getting already, I think we might be getting a ?he?s due? campaign for Ridley. Stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington have hit the promo trail, and now Ridley himself has a prominent interview in The Hollywood Reporter. It?s an entertaining read; Ridley is candid and passionate without being pretentious. Like when he?s asked if he thinks Quentin Tarantino will really quit after 10 films, Ridley says no, followed by ?Shut up and go make another movie.? Some more highlights:
On if directing feels like ?work?: Are you kidding? I wouldn?t be doing it [if directing felt like work]. It?s my passion and therefore my pleasure. I think it actually keeps me going.
He?s made 16 movies since 2000?s Gladiator?! Since [the original] Gladiator, I think I?ve done 16 movies ? which is kind of a lot in 20 years. I always envied being an actor and you can do two or three movies a year. They don?t have to do any prep except learn their lines. I?ve got to have it written, budget it, cast it, shoot it, make it, edit it, and deliver it. The actor just has to turn up and do his f?king job.
Don?t ask him about retirement: When I go [makes croaking noise]. I mean, Clint [Eastwood] is 94. ? I?m 86 now, so I?ve still got a few to go.
A valuable lesson in reading reviews: Pauline Kael in The New Yorker killed me stone dead with her Blade Runner review. It was four pages of destruction. I never met her. I was so offended. I framed those pages and they?ve been in my office for 30 years to remind me there?s only one critic that counts and that?s you. I haven?t read critiques ever since. Because if it?s a good one, you can get a swollen head and forget yourself. And if it?s a bad one, you?re so depressed that it?s debilitating.
Director Michael Mann suggested Russell Crowe for Gladiator: The guy I occasionally drop a note to is Michael Mann. Because Michael said, ?I know you?re going to do a sword and sandal movie, and I know they?ve historically been ridiculous.? And he sent me [early footage] from The Insider and said, ?Watch this guy called Russell Crowe.? I met Russell in here [scott nods to the conference room]. Russell talked about being overweight endlessly. I said, ?I believe you?re going to be able to lose weight,? and he did.
Casting Paul Mescal was a similar experience: My job is to spot actors. I use very good casting directors, but when I?m prepping something, I?ve already got somebody in mind. I binge TV and saw this thing, Normal People, and thought: ?This kid [Paul Mescal] is interesting,? and, ?F?k me, he looks like Richard Harris.? Suddenly it came together: ?This is Lucius.? And from that I asked him, ?Do you want to do the film??
[From THR]
?They don?t have to do any prep except learn their lines.? Oh man, those comments on actors are gonna get Ridley into trouble! There?s a lot more in Stanislavsky?s tome An Actor Prepares than just, ?learn your lines,? I can tell you that. The thing is, I don?t think Ridley himself actually believes that?s all actors do. I think it was poor wording on his part, in trying to compare the scope of responsibilities a director has on a film vs an actor. But still, I would absolutely love to see the schooling Denzel Washington gives him when next they meet. By contrast, I thought Ridley got the tone just right when talking about Pauline Kael?s scathing review of Blade Runner. He didn?t bash Pauline, who was a revered and seminal critic. Yet he still illustrated his point. And framing the review to hang in his office for 30 years? That?s brilliant, and I?d like to think Pauline would even enjoy this anecdote (may she rest in praiseful prose).
Lastly, the interviewer asked Ridley at the end if there was anything else he?d like to say, to which Ridley had four words: ?I miss my brother.?

| Cillian Murphy: Ireland in the '80s was 'like the f?king dark ages compared to now' | Added 5 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Cillian Murphy is currently promoting Tim Mielants?s Small Things Like These. Cillian produced it, and he asked Matt Damon and Ben Affleck?s Artists Equity to step in as producers as well (they agreed). The film is adapted from a book of the same name, a fictional story based on the real horrors of Ireland in the 1980s the Magdalene Laundries and the ?fallen women,? the pregnant girls and women who were kidnapped and abused by the Catholic Church. Cillian recently spoke to the Irish Times and it got very personal about how horrible Ireland was forty years ago:
Cillian on the horrors of Ireland in the 1980s: ?Let?s put it into perspective. It?s 1984 going into 1985. In 1984 you had the Kerry babies. In 1985 you had the moving statues. No abortion. No divorce. I think you were just able to get condoms, maybe by prescription. But it?s like the f**king dark ages compared to now. The film deliberately is trying to blur the lines. When you look at it, it could be the 1950s in many ways?.you hear Come on Eileen and you think, ?We?re in the 1980s.? But a lot had remained the same since the 1950s. I have talked to my parents about it. We were young, obviously. I was 11 or something. We were kids, but it was a totally different time. I think when people call this a historical drama it seems bizarre. But it really does feel like another country.?
How women were viewed back then: ?My mum told me this amazing expression. She said that, when she was growing up, there was this expression, ?Lipstick on the lips, dust on the shelf.?? Good Lord. Meaning, presumably, that the sort of woman who would wear make-up wouldn?t clean the house? ?So think about that. If that was something people would say, that shows you how women were viewed. That sort of stuff, it?s just mind-blowing.?
Why Cillian moved his family back to Ireland after living in London for years: ?People ask me that question a lot, and I?m sure it?s the same for you. We came back for reasons that were about the kids and being near their grandparents. About having a quieter life. We weren?t motivated by politics or what?s happening socially in Ireland. We left pre-Brexit, actually. It was good timing. It worked out. It feels like an Irish story. You move away and you learn about yourself. You find yourself in London or New York. You do what you want to do and then you come home. It seems to be just a very common Irish narrative.? But it wasn?t always that common. ?Oh, yeah. In the world of this movie all the young people are leaving, and they ain?t coming back.?
[From The Irish Times]
Some of what Murphy speaks about is incredibly recent abortion wasn?t legalized in Ireland until 2018. Divorce wasn?t allowed/legalized until 1995. It was 1985 before regular people could buy condoms without a prescription. I had never heard of the Kerry Babies, but I looked it up and it?s a horrific story. All of it has happened within Cillian?s lifetime and he?s not that old.
Anyway, this interview got a lot of attention when the Irish Pro Life Campaign made a big statement slamming Cillian for? supporting abortion and reproductive choice. It?s just as crazy as the anti-choice sh-t we get here in America you would think that the Irish anti-choice campaigns would actually sit back and say ?you know what, given the Church?s catastrophic history in Ireland, we should just shut our mouths.?

| Royalist: Prince William was deliberately trolling Meghan by holding jam | Added 5 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
During one of Prince William?s events in Cape Town, South Africa, he was presented with various food items. At one point, he held up a jar of local jam and he was photographed examining the jar and smelling it. No one would have thought anything of it. No one would have thought that bald man with a gross beard, holding up a jar of jam, was some kind of international troll on his Black sister-in-law. But according to sources close to William, that?s exactly what it was. William had the Duchess of Sussex on his mind when he organized a trolling photo-op with a jar of jam. And William?s people think that this makes their guy look good.
Prince William was ?trolling? his estranged sister-in-law Meghan Markle when he posed with a jar of sour jam for official photos Thursday, a source has told The Daily Beast.
Meghan ?soft launched? her new business venture American Riviera Orchard by sending her celebrity pals pots of homemade strawberry jam earlier this year but no commercial products ever appeared. The business has also been hit by a wave of regulatory and trademark disputes, and Meghan has been mocked mercilessly online over the failure of the business to bring any products to market. The Daily Beast has been told by sources that Meghan intends to launch products when Netflix screens her new cooking show, which wrapped filming earlier this year. Netflix has thus far declined to provide a transmission date.
William, 42, received the pot of sour fig jam after he hosted a barbecue in South Africa?s Cape Town with Heidi Klum, Winnie Harlow and Billie Porter as part of this year?s Earthshot Prize Awards. A former courtier, who worked with William at the palace, told The Daily Beast that the photo was likely a deliberate dig at his brother?s wife Meghan: ?Nothing happens by accident when it comes to royal photos. It looks very much like he is trolling her.?
The source added that items presented to the royal family typically have to be pre-approved and are carefully screened by royal aides to check they don?t have the potential to cause controversy or offense.
[From The Daily Beast]
If you have to rush to the Daily Beast and breathlessly explain how the prince?s photo-op with JAM in South Africa is a deliberate troll of Meghan? I don?t know, maybe William is more insane than we even considered? There?s the pathetic aspect of this, but it?s also like? why does he care? Why is Meghan?s jam going to be the thing that brings down the monarchy? Remember how incandescent with rage they all were over Meghan sending jam to her friends? That was months ago! But Slumlord Willy held onto that incandescence and made a point of organizing this?? That?s what his people INSIST!!

| Will Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner return to DC for Trump's second term' | Added 17 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
It?s obviously the most pressing question for the second Trump administration: is daddy?s favorite child about to make her triumphant return to the White House? In the first Trump term, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner installed themselves in the West Wing and acted as ?advisors? and ?babysitters? for Donald Trump. Both Ivanka and Jared worked their own agendas too, and they profited from the administration in ways few people understand. Jared and Ivanka did not participate in this year?s Trump campaign whatsoever though. Post-insurrection, they bought a home in Indian Creek Island in Florida, and they?ve been establishing themselves in the Miami social scene. So will Javanka return to DC? From the NY Post:
Ivanka Trump was by her father?s side as he was won the Presidency for a historic second term ? but it doesn?t mean she will join him in the White House, sources say. The statuesque blonde is preparing to be First Daughter a second time, however, she and her husband Jared Kusher have spent the past few years settling into Miami life and have no plans for a return to the political fray.
The couple, both 43, moved to Florida after a tumultuous few years in Washington D.C. where they both worked in Trump?s 2017 to 2020 administration as advisers. Doing so lost them some of their more liberal friends in the process, multiple sources confirm. The pair now live with their three children on Indian Creek Island, dubbed the ?Billionaire?s Bunker?, where their neighbors include close pals Tom Brady and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiance, Lauren Sanchez.
A society source in Miami told us Ivanka ? who called her dad?s conviction over his hush money trial in May ?painful? ? is ?loved.? A close source added, ?Ivanka is proud of her father, she loves him, but his last presidency took its toll. There were friends who turned their back on Ivanka and Jared because of Donald, and that was hurtful. Now she has a great life, her thoughts are she does not need to be working in the White House to make a difference.?
Although she won?t be taking meetings in the West Wing, Ivanka, who joined President Trump on stage alongside her husband, siblings and Melania Trump in the early hours of Wednesday morning as he declared victory, is, however, looking forward to still having an impact on public life.
?I expect that we could see Ivanka work with tech leaders and talk about child safety on the internet, as well as her concerns about child trafficking, that?s the kind of thing she concentrated on in the White House,? said the source. ?I think we?ll see her utilize her power in that way.?
Another source familiar with the Kushner family added, ?Ivanka has been remarkably consistent for two years and right now she is focused on her family and the needs of her children. She doesn?t plan to be in politics. If she has something she wants to say, she will speak with her father about it directly, and privately? If that changes and she decides she wants to advocate for various policies, she will say it publicly. Ivanka is not preparing to re-enter political life, but there?s whispers that she could make key appearances and support the idea of the American family,? added another Miami source. ?Ivanka is prepped to do all the family walks at some point? but has no plans to enter the political fray.?
Similarly, a source said that Kushner has no plans to return to politics ? but that he will be advising the transition team as needed.
[From Page Six]
I think it was Rachel Maddow who made the point, pre-election, that if Trump won, the people around him would be radically different than the first term. Meaning, there will be disciplined, seasoned fascists and hard right-wing political operatives using this Trump term to work their agenda. The first term, as ghastly as it was, was riddled with incompetence and a lack of discipline across the board. Just the sheer fact that Jared Kushner was, like, the go-to foreign policy advisor and jack-of-all-trades on domestic policy tells you everything about what the first term was like. It will be different this time around. And I hate to admit this, but it will actually be worse without Ivanka and Jared making a bare-bones effort to moderate Trump?s worst instincts. I actually hate that I even had to write that sentence.

| Democrats are already blaming George Clooney for his stupid NYT op-ed | Added 17 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
George Clooney wrote his now-infamous New York Times editorial in July, wherein he insulted President Biden for being too old and said that Biden should step aside and the Democrats should pass over the sitting vice president and hold a mini-primary before the convention. Clooney?s delusion became THE talking point for many Democratic donors as they dreamt of installing someone like Wes Moore or Mark Kelly as the nominee with zero money and zero credibility with average Democratic voters nationwide. Many elected Democrats publicly echoed Clooney?s words, including Nancy Pelosi and a dozen senators. Then, eleven days later, Biden dropped out and endorsed Kamala Harris, and the party quickly coalesced behind her and she raised a billion dollars. When Clooney was in Venice, he was asked about his NYT op-ed, and he said that ?none of that is going to be remembered.? Guess who remembered? Everyone.
Democratic voters would like a quick word with movie star George Clooney. Clooney, the movie star whose New York Times editorial heralded the ouster of President Joe Biden from the 2024 presidential race, was the subject of some frustration after former President Donald Trump secured the nations highest office.
Someone bring me George Clooney, wrote altNOAA, the veteran-led political commentator group launched in response to the Trump administrations so-called gag order on the Environmental Protection Agency. We need to have a talk.
Clooney was among a slew of high-profile Americans who urged Biden to walk away from the race after his lone debate against Trump raised concerns about the 81-year-olds ability to defeat the MAGA Republican.
Biden later claimed he had a cold, but Democratic critics such as Clooney argued that was beside the point considering the stakes if he continued ? and what he said was the likelihood that another candidate could easily defeat Trump.
We?re all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we?ve opted to ignore every warning sign, Clooney wrote. All of the scary stories that we?re being told about what would happen next are simply not true. In all likelihood, the money in the Biden-Harris coffers could go to help elect the presidential ticket and other Democrats.
[From Raw Story]
The tweets are there, the outrage is there. It will be one of the great political unknowns in American history, ?what if Democrats hadn?t been such bedwetters and stayed in lockstep behind an enormously successful president?? While Biden?s approval rate was very low six months ago or whatever, I maintain that most people were not paying attention to Biden or anything else before Democratic turncoats began screaming about his age. Democrats have to reckon with how they mishandled all of that, because they looked disorganized and incredibly eager to stab Biden in the back. But yeah? Clooney can fk all the way off.

| Prince William wore vintage & sustainable sneakers for the Earthshot ceremony | Added 17 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are photos of Day 3 and Day 4 of Prince William?s big, keen trip to South Africa. I have no idea who is paying attention to this at all, even within the British media. Thankfully, today is William?s final day in South Africa, and last night was the big Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town. Heidi Klum was there, so was Nina Dobrev. I honestly wonder if Eartshot pays appearance fees to celebrities for coming out. I feel pretty confident that Earthshot picks up the celebrity guests? travel costs and accommodations. Which begs the question why are they wasting all of that money just to have some ?celebrities? at these stupid events?
Anyway, unlike the previous Earthshot Prize ceremonies, William didn?t wear a tuxedo or any kind of formalwear indicating that this was an evening event. He wore a vintage blazer from a local store (in London, I guess) and he wore sustainable sneakers which are ?zero-plastic and biodegradable.? I get that William is making a point to highlight sustainable men?s fashion, but it also looks like he didn?t care enough to get dressed up for the one time Earthshot was held in an African country. The women are in formalwear William is in sneakers.
The Prince of Wales, 42, was the guest of honor at the awards night in Cape Town, South Africa on Nov. 6. It was the focal point of his four days in South Africa, which began on Monday, Nov. 4 and conclude on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Im feeling good. I cant quite believe were here, fourth year, in Africa, Prince William said on the green carpet. But Im really pleased because Ive been looking forward to an Africa Earthshot for a long time. I love the continent, and Im so pleased weve managed to get here to Africa.
Africas been a big part of my life since Ive been a young boy, since I first came to Africa, he continued. I felt really connected to the place spiritually and kind of from an environmental and people point. And every time I come here I get a warm welcome. Every time I come here I can be myself and get away from all the stuff that happens in my normal life. And so its a really special place, a home from home for me.
[From People]
He?s copying Harry, etc. I find it interesting that Harry has spent so much time on the ground in Lesotho and Zimbabwe, not only working but building friendships and a surrogate family. And then William just? pops into Jecca Craig?s estate in Kenya every three years or so and that?s about it.
