Though she didn?t receive rave reviews for her depiction of Jackie Kennedy in the original ?The Kennedys? project, Katie Holmes is giving it another shot.
The ?Mad Money? actress will reprise her role in the forthcoming ReelzChannel miniseries ?The Kennedys: After Camelot,? based on Randy Taraborrelli?s book ?After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to Present.?
However, don?t get too excited just yet- filming isn?t slated to begin until sometime in the Spring of 2015.
ReelzChannel CEO Stan E. Hubbard stated, "The Kennedys was a brilliant execution of storytelling based on the lives of one of the world's best known families. We are delighted that we were able to step up and acquire the broadcast rights to that property and we have every confidence that this new miniseries will be as enthusiastically received as the last one.?

She sat next to Ava at dinner and they talked about schoolwork and homework and what their life goals were, and Ava was just in awe of this 17-year-old woman."
"When I was 14, I was worried about learning my lines and impressing casting directors. When Malala Yousafzai was 14, she was speaking out against an oppressive regime and fighting for the rights for girls to be educated around the world."

Esquire?s Sexiest Woman Alive feature is usually pretty good ? they tend to skew to women in their 30s and 40s, women with a little bit of life experience under their belts. I?ll admit? I like Penelope a lot and I think she?s gorgeous and sexy. But I hate reading her interviews, especially when it?s an interview done by the overwrought writers at Esquire. So I barely skimmed the Esquire piece, only reading enough to know this isn?t a typical profile with, you know, quotes. I?m only going with the barest of highlights:
Penelope on her darkness: ?I?ve played a lot of tricks on myself. I?ve made it hard for me sometimes, especially in my teens and twenties. I had an attraction to drama. Most of us have that, especially if you are an artist?you feel like you are tempted to explore the darkness. I could not be less interested now. For me, the most attractive, charming, cool, fun, interesting thing?how could I call it? A plan.?
On her family: ?That is for us,? she says. She declines to talk about her recent motherhood (a three-year-old son and a daughter who just turned one) except to say that family is everything to her and the reason we have not seen much of her lately.
Her anti-Israel stance: She has asked not to be asked about one of her rare public demonstrations of anticalculus, her controversial signing of an open group letter in the Spanish media condemning the Israeli bombing of Gaza, referring instead?at the table, in person? to a statement released by her publicist as her final word on the subject. Sure, okay. As I said, I could look at Penelope all day long but don?t make me sit through her interviews! Plus, the Esquire piece was written by some dude who thought he was Hemingway and he spent half the interview talking about a bullfight. Because of course.
As for the Israel thing – Penelope did sign a letter denouncing “Israeli genocide” of Palestinians – you can read more about it here. After several studios threatened to blacklist her for the stance, Penelope issued a clarification that she was merely pro-peace.
Oh, and Penelope turned 40 years old in April. To me, she still looks like she?s in her 20s. Crazy.

Here are some increasingly rare photos of Natalie Portman out with her husband Benjamin Millepied at the gala for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The event was called ?Noche De Ninos? or Night of the Children. It feels like it?s been a really, really long time since we?ve even talked about Portman, much less seen her on a red carpet. She made the promotional rounds last year for Thor: The Dark Loki, and we talked a lot about that clusterwhoops that happened for Jane Got A Gun (which got pushed back for a February release), but she?s been very quiet this year.
Natalie wore Dior for this charity event. The gown sucks, right? Why is Dior using such cheap-looking satin? Part of the problem is how Natalie styled the gown and how she?s (not) working the gown. Her hair is too beachy and undone for a formal event and she looks super-uncomfortable. Benjamin looks? well, I?ve never been into him, but he looks nice, I guess.
There are some rumors that Benjamin and Natalie are trying for another baby. Aleph, their only child, is now three years old. Sources claim that Natalie and Benjamin have figured out their work-life balance and they think now is the time to add to their family. Plus, they?re living for the most part in Paris now, I guess.

I like that there actually is some mystery with these two, that Susan isn?t doing photo-op after photo-op with Bricklin, like she?s trying to ?prove? how sexy she is. She knows she?s sexy. She knows she?s a cool grandma. And sure, maybe this thing with Bricklin isn?t forever, but they?re both adults and they?re having fun. Kristen Stewart got pap?d so much in NYC last week, I didn?t even get the chance to use all of the new photos of her. So here?s a hodge-podge of K-Stew pics from the last week. Enjoy! Kristen managed to avoid being pap?d with Nicholas Hoult, even though he reportedly came out to her NYFF premiere and after-party ? they were reportedly pretty tight at the party, so take that however you want. Kristen also sat down with The Daily Beast for a lengthy interview about Camp X-Ray last week (it was published on Saturday). You can read the full piece here. Most of the conversation is about Gitmo and the politics of Gitmo and terrorism. Kristen also talks about the people who think she cannot act, plus her thoughts on feminism. Some highlights:
Taking two years off, then working with a first-time director on Camp X-Ray: ?I?m never really that precious about choosing projects that don?t have every sure element that is a guaranteed good experience and/or success. There?s a lot of risk involved in this job, and it doesn?t bother me? I?ve had experiences that have made me go, ?Ugh, I have to be careful and make sure that every part is sturdy and that I won?t be let down.? If I was a director, I would be extremely conscious of my filmography. It says so much about the difference between putting your name on something and owning it instead of being one tiny part of it. Actors get to work all the time. If I make a bad movie every once in a while, I don?t care. I didn?t work after Snow White for about two years, but it?s because a lot of these projects didn?t come together. I?m decisive, but I?m definitely not a planner.?
The criticism that she can?t act: ?Honestly, I don?t care. It?s fine. I?m really happy doing what I?m doing. I?m sure there are a ton of people out there who would hate my movies even if they saw all those, just as I?m sure there are people out there who are obsessed with Twilight and say, ?I watched the series, and she completely let me down, and then I watched every one of her other movies, and I f–kin? hate her!? And that?s cool! Just don?t watch my movies.?
Whether she?s politically active: ?I don?t want to talk about that s–t at all. Trust me, I?m only asking for it. When it comes time to stand up and affect change, I?m not the type of person to shout from the rooftops. Just because you?re an actor and in the public eye, people think that?s how you must be. But there are other ways to do that. That?s not me.
She?s confused why some young women don?t identify with feminism: ?That?s such a strange thing to say, isn?t it? Like, what do you mean? Do you not believe in equality for men and women? I think it?s a response to overly-aggressive types. There are a lot of women who feel persecuted and go on about it, and I sometimes am like, ?Honestly, just relax, because now you?re going in the other direction.? Sometimes, the loudest voice in the room isn?t necessarily the one you should listen to. By our nature alone, think about what you?re saying and say it?but don?t scream in people?s faces, because then you?re discrediting us. Relating it to my one little avenue, people say, ?If you want to make it in the film industry as a woman, you have to be a bitch.? No, you are going to ruin any chance you have and give us a bad name. It?s the overcompensation to where our generation goes, ?Relax,? because it?s been easier for us, and because we don?t have as much of the anger, so it?s like we can?t get behind it and it?s a bit embarrassing. But that being said, it?s a really ridiculous thing to say you?re not a feminist.

Kristen?s answer on the feminism question is classic Kristen ? for most of the answer, I thought she was going off in one direction (the ?women need to stop complaining about inequality? direction) and then she does an about-face at the very end with the ?of course you should identify with feminism? direction. Can you talk honestly about feminism if you had a high-profile affair with your married director? I?m honestly acting.
There?s also a somewhat interesting discussion about Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first Twilight movie, and how Hardwicke was basically chased out of Hollywood after the failure of Red Riding Hood. Kristen doesn?t defend her former director and champion specifically at all, but she does say that what happened to Hardwicke was ?f?ked up? and that women need to ?persevere? in the industry to make it.
