| Gwen Stefani's kids think it's weird when she isn't wearing a face full of makeup | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gwen Stefani loves makeup. No, scratch that. Gwen Stefani NEEDS makeup, at least according to Gwen Stefani. She?s one of those ?I don?t leave the house without makeup? women. She often said that she never wanted Gavin Rossdale to see her bare face and that he preferred her with makeup. Personally, I think she just loves makeup and feels uncomfortable without out and it?s not about what her husband or boyfriend likes. Anyway, makeup addict Gwen has been named the newest brand-ambassador for Revlon, which is actually a great fit. To celebrate her new position, Gwen gave a long-ass interview to InStyle. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights (and keep in mind, this is supposed to be all about makeup).
She loves this new ambassadorship: “I’m like how smart is Revlon to pick me? They’re so smart. I’m probably the most excited person about makeup that you could ever choose and it genuinely is my passion. It?s something that I’ve been obsessed with for as long as I can remember. It’s art. It’s self expression. It’s transformation. It’s confidence. All day long?whether it’s on stage, photo shoots, or just my everyday routine?I get up and put tons of makeup on because I like it, and I like doing it, and I think I’m good at it.?
Choosing love: “I feel like really excited. It’s like one of those things where I would never have dreamed this big. To be a brand ambassador for a huge world brand that’s been around forever and on top of that, weirdly also has a message. They can choose any message, right? I mean, they’re speaking to the world and they choose love. Which I think is just weirdly paralleled to my life, because I feel like I had to make a choice a few years ago when things were just so hard and to choose love. I wrote a whole record about ‘this is what the truth feels like.’ And love to me is truth. Love to me is God. Love to me is just all of those things. So I think to be a part of a world message right now, it’s just an amazing platform to just say it. I feel like it’s a really amazing thing. I’ll look back and be like, ?I’m proud.?”
Her sons remind her to put on makeup: “[Makeup] says a lot, I think. Even my kids are so used to me wearing makeup that if I don’t, they’ll be like, ?Wait are you gonna put on makeup?? I’m like, ?Of course I’m going to.? It’s just who I am. Always have been. So it’s kind of perfect to be doing it in this way. And it’s inspiring, too.”
Date-night makeup for Blake Shelton: “I don’t have an ideal of any makeup, it’s all about what you’re trying to say and mood. I think that’s the same with clothes for me too. And I’m not proud of this but I think that it really affects me. If I’m not comfortable, I’ll be like, ?I don’t even want to be here right now,’ if I don’t have the right feeling, because it’s who I am. I’m saying, ‘This is who I am.’ I think that’s true even if you’re a jeans and T-shirt person.”
Whether she can go to sleep with her makeup on: “No. I cannot go to sleep with makeup on. That is so gross! I don’t have a huge routine, but I wash my face with some cleanser that takes makeup off. I just recently started using these pads from a dermatologist that takes more makeup off. I cannot believe how much makeup was on there for all those years. I think about [when I was on tour] on a bus, trying to wash my face in that little sink. That’s what I did forever! And then I put on moisturizer. It’s not that deep. It is what it is. Some days you look good, some days you don’t.”
[From InStyle]
I?m absolutely appalled when women claim that they don?t take their makeup off before going to sleep, so I?m glad that Gwen is like ?of course I wash my face!? As for the rest of it? ugh, I do believe in ?you do you.? I think Gwen reeks of insecurity, but then again? she was deeply in love with a man who cheated on her constantly, so she?s dealing with her life the way she can. That?s how I think of it – makeup is her crutch and it makes her feel better, and really, what?s the harm? Besides the harm of her sons thinking it?s weird when she isn?t wearing makeup.
Incidentally, these photos of Gwen in red Moschino, with a full face of makeup? They?re from church. This is what she wears to take her kids to church!

| Rihanna is Harvard's 2017 Humanitarian of the Year | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The other day, my daughter and I were taking a Buzzfeed quiz and one of the questions asked which celeb we would marry or something. My daughter picked Rihanna because, she said, ?she?s sassy.? I’m kind of on board with my daughter aspiring or being attracted to Rihanna-level sass (or Rihanna in general, really). I say kind of because I really don?t know much about Rihanna other than her music and what I read here. However, now I have yet another reason to be thrilled that she will be my daughter-in-law because Rihanna, it turns out, is as charitable as she is sassy and Harvard is recognizing her for it. Rihanna founded the Clara Lionel Foundation in 2012 to fund cancer treatment in her native Barbados. In addition, Rihanna also formed the Clara Lionel (her grandparents names) Foundation Scholarship Program to provide financial assistance for students from the Caribbean attending school in the U.S. That, and her work in Malawi to promote education has made her the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award recipient for 2017. Brava, Rihanna!
The 29-year-old singer has been named Harvard University’s 2017Humanitarian of the Year, and will be presented with the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award during a ceremony on campus next week.
“Rihanna has charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados,” S. Allen Counter, the Harvard Foundation’s director said in a statement on Wednesday. “She has also created the Clara Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program [named for her grandmother and grandfather] for students attending college in the U.S. from Caribbean countries, and supports the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen Project, a multiyear campaign that will provide children with access to education in over 60 developing countries, giving priority to girls and those affected by lack of access to education in the world today.”
The “Work” singer, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, founded theClara Lionel Foundationin 2012, a charity aimed at improving impoverished communities around the globe. Last month, Rihanna set off on a mission to promote education in Malawi on behalf of her foundation and theGlobal Citizen organization.
Harvard’s annual Humanitarian of the Year Award recognizes “public and spirited leaders” in honor of the late Rev. Professor Peter J. Gomes. Past recipients include actor James Earl Jones, U.N. Secretaries General Ban Ki-moon, Kofi Annan, and Boutros Boutros-Ghali, and gender rights advocate Malala Yousafzai.
[From ET]
The ceremony is next Tuesday for any Cambridge, MA fans. Look at that list of award recipients! Could you imagine having your name listed alongside those luminaries? Not to mention, Rev. Peter J. Gomes was amazing in his own right. I?m thrilled Rihanna is getting this award if not for the least reason that I am reminded of all her amazing work. How perfectly classy to slide behind the scenes and do so much good work for so many, all in her grandparents? name.
Speaking of amazing work, Rihanna ?s latest single, Love on the Brain, rose to number 8 on the charts, which has landed Rihanna among another list with esteemed company. With her 30th Top Ten hit, Rihanna is now number three behind Madonna and the Beatles for the most top ten hits ever. So confident, sassy, humanitarian, youth advocate and record-breaking musician. Not a bad CV. Guess we know what was in her bedazzled flask at the Grammys: Awesome-Sauce.
Seriously, my heartiest congratulations to Rihanna. She and her family should be very proud of this.

| Eva Longoria gets her hair dyed every two weeks, has been gray since 18 | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Former Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria is spreading the word about balayage, and we?re listening. The 41-year-old actress, soon to appear on FOX?s Empire, is a spokesmodel for L?Oreal and has been making the rounds, talking beauty and springtime hair. She was recently spotted leaving Ken Paves’ West Hollywood salon with fresh tresses, thanks to his balayage skills. If you don?t know, balayage is a trendy new highlighting technique, where dye is painted on the hair without the use of foils to create a graduated, natural-looking effect. Eva, definitely not the only celebrity who is a fan of the technique, talked to Stylish about her current follicular state and touted the benefit of the bun as the remedy for a bad hair day. Here are some highlights:
Eva?s current hair situation: I like my blonde ends. I love my balayage, it?s less ombr, more balayage. You just kiss your hair with a little lightness, and it feels like you open up your face for spring.
Eva probably has a ?frequent shopper? card at the salon: I have a full head of gray hair, since I was, like, 18. So for me, going to the salon is every two weeks. And then I have some that peek through.
Eva?s springtime hair beauty tip: I like to air-dry my hair a lot, so I spray in a leave-in conditioner. And my hairdresser taught me just to twist this front end back and bobby pin it for an hour while it?s air-drying. When you let it go, it just frames your hair nicely, as opposed to having that air-dry sloppy look. It just looks as if it dried naturally in this beautiful shape. It?s perfect for curly hair. Do your part, brush it, twist the hair while it?s wet. Don?t twist up, twist down. Pin it and let it go when it?s still a little damp.
[From US Magazine/Stylish]
Eva showed off her new hue and sleek, long locks on Wednesday?s episode of The View, promoting L?Oreal?s new root touch up product. During the show?s ?Hot Topics? segment, the conversation kicked off by bringing up the Immigration Ban. Eva, who is a self-described ?student? of immigration reform, didn?t directly attack the POTUS, agreeing that we are ?a country of laws? but warns of the de-funding of sanctuary cities. She said, ?When you vilify an entire community ? I?m Latino, so people assume Latinos is equal with illegal, and it?s not. I?m a ninth generation [Mexican-American.]? She went on to say that the de-funding could affect homeless veterans and the country?s ports, as the same funds are used to protect them against terrorism, stating, ?You can?t just take away funds because you?re trying to prove a point of an election.?
Later, Eva talked about moving from in front of to behind the camera, directing episodes of Black-ish, Jane the Virgin and Devious Maids. She said that being a woman makes her a good director. Why? Well, according to Eva, “Being a director means you have to problem solve and answer a lot of questions and juggle things at the same time, so really only women can do that. You have people pulling at you and asking you questions. It?s just problem solving all day long.? You can see the interview below:
I do love Eva?s hair color and the whole balayage/ombr look as well. I have roots down to the middle of my head right now, do you think I could pass that off as ombr? Who knew I was so trendy? I am, after 12 weeks, going to the hairdresser next week for my first ombr ever. I?m trading in my (sort of) blonde locks for a lovely rose gold. Hopefully the results will rival Eva?s!

| Emma Watson in Emilia Wickstead at UK 'Beauty' premiere: elegant or blah' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from the big ?launch event? (or ?premiere? in peasant terms) for Beauty and the Beast last night in London. As I said earlier this week, I?m not into this movie but I acknowledge that it wasn?t made for me. It was made for a new generation of little girls who want to see a live-action story about a bookish girl falling in love with a beast. The original was one of Disney?s most popular animated films and I?m sure it will be one of Disney?s biggest hits this year. The Hollywood Reporter already says that early tracking suggests that this film could open with $120 million just in North America. Disney?s internal tracking says that they?re expecting anything around $100 million for its opening weekend.
As I also said in an earlier post, I?m not into Emma Watson?s style during this promotional tour. To be fair to her, she?s been doing the sustainability challenge that we?ve seen from other stars – her dresses on the promotional tour have been made from eco-friendly, sustainable fabrics. I guess that means that no one can dye the fabric? Because the color on Emma?s dress is very? blah. From a distance, it resembles old cheesecloth. The dress is Emilia Wickstead and it?s bespoke, meaning it was made specifically for Emma. I like that she went with an English designer and I don?t even hate the design – it?s a little boxy? – but the fabric and the color ruins it for me. Everything is so washed out.
I?m also including photos of Cousin Matthew (Dan Stevens, doing The Jolie Leg), Luke Evans (looking handsome but his suit is a bad color too) and Emma Thompson, who is an angel.
