Its hard for me to get back in the swing of premieres and awards shows again after nearly two years, and I bet its so much worse for the celebrities. You cant really tell when they show up looking as incredible as Sandra Bullock did last night in LA. Sandra was at the premiere of The Unforgivable, her Netflix movie streaming on December 10th and out in limited release now. Its about a woman trying to rebuild her life after shes released following a 20 year sentence for killing a cop.
We just saw Sandra on Kimmel in a fabulous velvet dark purple suit and here she is in a full length silver sequin Stella McCartney jumpsuit. I wish the pants were tailored better but other than that this fits her like a glove. This looks so good with that black suit jacket and the cool matching clutch. Sandy is back!
Jon Bernthal was there, looking like a whole snack in a brown striped suit. I love how hes posing like hes about to throw a punch. I think he plays Sandras characters love interest.
The other top names in this movie are Viola Davis and Vincent DOnofrio and unfortunately neither were there. I would have loved to see Viola and wonder why she didnt make it. Shes probably not in the swing of going to premieres yet and/or is understandably cautious. From what I can find Vincent lives in New York so he may have chosen not to travel. (Hes also in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, where he plays Jerry Falwell, and he went to premieres for that in September and October.)
Aisling Franciosi plays Sandras characters little sister. Im not familiar with her but shes a 28-year-old Irish actress and she was in The Fall and Game of Thrones. This is a pretty dress and looks festive. I like the asymmetric mesh overlay.
What was Anne Heche doing there and why is she so wacky? Shes not in it, I checked.

Are you ready for a Kardashian update? Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have been dating for the past month. They were first seen together over Halloween weekend, then Kim went to New York and she even went to Staten Island for a date night. Pete went to Palm Springs, to Kris Jenner?s house, for his birthday. They?ve gotten more serious in recent weeks and Kim absolutely wants us to know about it. She wants us to know that Pete is just what she needed post-Kanye. Pete apparently calls Kim ?my girl.?
Kim Kardashian West and Pete Davidsons budding romance doesnt seem to be slowing down. After spending more time together in Los Angeles over the weekend, a source tells PEOPLE that Kardashian West is enjoying the ease of her relationship with the Saturday Night Live star, 28, after her split from Kanye West.
Hes exactly what Kim needed after her divorce ? someone to make her laugh and just have a fun time with, the source tells PEOPLE. The end of her marriage was a very dark time for her and Pete has been the best antidote.
The source says Davidson is also making their relationship a priority, taking frequent trips to Los Angles from his home in Staten Island, New York. Hes flying back and forth and spending more time in L.A. when he can to see Kim. Hes so into her and is always my girl this and my girl that, the source says.
But while their relationship appears to be heating up, a second source tells PEOPLE that Davidson hasnt met her kids yet.
She still loves the attention, adds the insider. They have been getting to know each other quickly. Kim likes him more and more.
Over the weekend, the two were spotted holding hands after grabbing dinner together in L.A. A source told PEOPLE that they were both in a great mood during the date night out.
They sat very close to each other and Kim kept giggling, the source said. He was very pleasant and ordered a lot of food for them. They shared several pasta dishes. He had his arm around Kim and they were very flirty. You could tell that Kim had the best time. They very much acted like a couple.

One of the few things I?m enjoying vicariously about this relationship is that it feels very food-based. You know what I mean? So many celebrity relationships are based on sex or image or promotion or fashion, but Pete and Kim aren?t like that. They eat together, that?s what brings them together. He?s all about carbs and not being on a diet and he?s the kind of guy whos like ?I?m going to order four pasta dishes for the table, eat as much as you want!? He got her to eat pizza in Staten Island, for goodness sake. Plus, he probably makes her laugh. Food and laughter? it could be a lot worse. This is probably Kim?s first relationship based on food and laughter.

Michael J. Fox is featured in the latest AARP newsletter. I always find it funny when these young guys give an interview for AARP but then they said he?s 60! No he?s not, he?s Alex P. Keaton, perpetually 17. The interview is typical Michael. He?s incurably optimistic, but in an approachable way, not a Pollyanna way. As always, he discusses his Parkinson?s with such honesty, it makes it less scary, even though its clearly progressing. As the interviewer states in the beginning, it?s obvious that he has the same wit he always has. Michael acknowledges that there is darkness in life and bad days. He?s not suggesting we brush over that. He promotes acknowledging what?s good and appreciating life.
On Parkinson?s in his life: It?s hard to explain to people how lucky I am, because I also have Parkinson?s. Some days are a struggle. Some days are more difficult than others. But the disease is this thing that?s attached to my life ? it isn?t the driver. And because I have assets, I have access to things others don?t. I wouldn?t begin to compare my experience to that of a working guy who gets Parkinson?s and has to quit his job and find a new way to live. So, I?m really lucky.
On gratitude: I started to notice things I was grateful for and the way other people would respond to difficulty with gratitude. I concluded that gratitude makes optimism sustainable.
And if you don?t think you have anything to be grateful for, keep looking. Because you don?t just receive optimism. You can?t wait for things to be great and then be grateful for that. You?ve got to behave in a way that promotes that.
Advice for living with Parkinson?s: Have an active life and do not let yourself get isolated and marginalized. You can live with it. People sometimes say that a relative or a parent or a friend died of Parkinson?s. You don?t die of? Parkinson?s. You die with Parkinson?s, because once you have it, you have it for life ? until we can remedy that, and we?re working hard at it. So, to live with it, you need to exercise and be in shape and to eat well. If you can?t drive, find a way to get around. Maintain friendships. Don?t say, ?Oh, I don?t have anything to say to Bob.? Bob might have something to say to you. Just make the call.

Michael talked a lot about his career in the interview. It was fun to relive all those roles with him. He has such a healthy perspective about what his work means to others and to him, including once it changed with his disease. I really appreciate his comments on gratitude. I don?t know that I am always as good about being grateful as I should. I love the concept that ?gratitude makes optimism sustainable.? I think I?m pretty good about finding things to be grateful for, but I?m not vocal enough about my gratitude. I think that?s what I need to promote. That?s hard for me because I keep all my emotions close to the vest, but I need to be more open about that. I also felt Michael?s advice for living with Parkinson?s was generally good life advice. After the past two years of being isolated, I?m trying very hard to reach out more. Not just to send the text or place the call, but to say something of value to those I love. A lot happened. I forget that people who love us want to know.
Something else Michael discussed in the interview was how technology was failing him and others with physical challenges. He specified the voice technology. The tremors associated with Parkinson?s make texting and typing impossible sometimes, so he relies on voice to text. But due to his voice quirks also associated with Parkinson?s, the texts will read wildly different from his comments and it?s frustrating, especially because he has no way of correcting it. Again, these are things I never would have thought of but it?s critical for quality of life for those who have Parkinson?s. And with his platform, he can amplify that need. Michael?s done so much for those around him. I hope he knows how grateful we are for him.

Brooke Shields has had a tough but exciting year. In January, Brooke broke her femur in a gym incident that required her to undergo several surgeries during the height of Covid. The surgeries left her with a staph infection that required her to be hospitalized for several weeks. Brooke said she had to relearn how to walk but avoided taking opiods. Brooke is in a new Netflix romcom, A Castle for Christmas, and she is launching her own lifestyle brand called Beginning is Now. Brooke started Beginning is Now because she got tired of the messaging that women are only sexy in their youth. In an interview with The Today Show, Brooke discussed her upbringing as a child actress, going to Princeton, her complicated relationship with her overprotective mom, and her new lifestyle brand. Here are a few highlights. The interview is embedded below:
On being grounded as a young adult
You have to have this sixth sense for people and for BS. I always went to school, I never moved up to LA. Not being surrounded by people in the industry gave me a bit of perspective.
Her mom protected her
She was hated because no one could get near me, but she also taught me manners, ethics, raised me as good Catholic girl. That kind of work ethic makes you say ?I?m going to just keep going.?
On going to Princeton
It didn?t occur to me not to go. I had been working for so long [that] by then it was almost like a vacation. I didn?t think about [my career] because thankfully I was in for a real shock after college.
On her lifestyle brand ?Beginning is Now?
I feel stronger, I feel sexier. Why aren?t we allowed to be sexy in our 50s? Why is it 20s or Depends? Why can?t we be celebrated for what our next chapter is. The women that I know are self sufficient, they?re not looking to be saved by anybody. They say ?what?s next, this can?t be it? I?m not done.?

It really is good seeing Brooke Shields again. I plan to watch her new movie A Castle for Christmas. My mom watched it over the weekend and loved it. I had been tracking Brookes recovery from her broken femur. It was so hard to watch her learn how to walk again but it was awe inspiring to see how strong and determined Brooke was in her recovery. I find it fascinating that Brooke went to Princeton. I also thought it was interesting that she felt that going to an Ivy League School was like a vacation from her life as a model and actress. I am sure being a star from damn near birth must have been taxing.
I agree with her that women get sexier as they age (at least I feel sexier). In fact, right before I watched this interview my mom, my friend Cindy and I were discussing how a lot of women in the industry mess up their faces and bodies trying to maintain this image of eternal youth instead of just embracing the side of themselves that aging illuminates. It is sad that women are made to feel that they must remain spring chickens to be desirable. I do not put this sort of stress on myself and at forty-five, I have embraced aging (but I hate those damn creaky joints). I hope that we will continue to see Brooke. My spidey senses are telling me that Brooke is primed for a midlife comeback. And why not?
