Here is Jennifer Lopez rocking the red carpet at 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills.
She did not end up an award-winner during Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards, but that didn’t keep the actress from feeling “like a kid” at the ceremony.

I’m always a fan of the big award shows, even though I’ve never been invited to one (hint hint). Because no matter how boring they get, they’re always a good excuse for a bunch of hotties to compete to see who can drop more red carpet cleavage. It’s one of my favorite annual traditions. So here’s […]

As much as I’d hoped to see Sofia Vergara‘s funbags at the Golden Globes last night, this is the next best thing: seeing Sofia’s booty in tight jeans. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a view like this from Sofia, and I don’t know about you guys, but I plan on making up for […]

| Maggie Gyllenhaal in rose-colored Miu Miu: frumpy or an improvement? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Maggie Gyllenhaal took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Mini-Series for her role in The Honorable Woman. She walked the red carpet with her brother, Jake, and they were each other’s dates. I could swear Jake uttered the words “sugar pie, honey bunch” when humoring Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, but maybe I imagined it. Did you hear it?
Maggie’s dress is Miu Miu. I’m not wild about the boob darting or the mini peplum, but this is one of the better dresses we’ve seen from Maggie. That’s not saying much, I know. Her posture lets me know she’s not very comfy glamming it up. The dusky rose color looks fantastic with her complexion, but her hair is … still bad. She could have gone a little spikey and had some fun for the event. Maggie did give a great speech last night:
“I?ve noticed a lot of people talking about the wealth of roles for powerful women in television lately. And when I look around the room at these women who are in here and I think about the performances that I’ve watched this year, what I see actually are women are sometimes powerful and sometimes not; sometimes sexy, sometimes not; sometimes honourable and sometimes not. And what I think is new is the wealth of roles for actual women in television and in film. That’s what I think is revolutionary, and evolutionary, and it?s what’s turning me on.”
[From YouTube]
I agree with her when it comes to television. Film roles for women still have a long way to go, but these past few years have brought us much more interesting and complex female characters on tv. Congrats to Maggie!
Taylor Schilling wore a red Ralph Lauren gown that looked like a Valentine’s decoration. This dress looked really cute from the back (but only from the waist up). From the front, the cross halter looked too tight, and her hair was pulled back severely. Maybe I’d have liked the dress more if the halter was drapier. Oh, and super eyebrow powers activate!
Uzo Aduba slayed in a very glam Randi Rahm dress and Brian Atwood shoes. I can’t find anything wrong with anything she wore. This is perfection.
Laura Prepon went a little too dark in this Christian Siriano dress. If her hair was red, the dress may have worked, but her black hair and black dress are blending into an inky mess. Laura wore Simon G. jewelry, and I want her to bring back the red.
Amanda Peet … words fail me. I don’t know what look she was going for, but this was some serious Three’s Company lampshade fug.

If you?ve come in here looking for Benedict Cumberbatch photos, too bad! Bendy got a separate post ? go here to see. This Hot Guy Golden Globes post is just for Clive Owen and some assorted men and couples we couldn?t fit in anywhere else. When I was live-tweeting the Globes last night, some of my most popular tweets were about Clive and how shiny he was and how I could make him feel better about his Globes loss. I could too. I miss Clive. I wish we saw more of him. There was a distinct lack of hot-guy cutaways last night. Anyway? Clive. He is forever. He is this year?s Velvet Crush.
I?m also including a hodge-podge of men and their spouses/partners. Ethan Hawke (don?t even yell at me, I know my crush is gross) and his wife Ryan. Jamie Dornan and his wife Amelia. I couldn?t find any photos of Michael Keaton with his hot son Shawn, which is tragic (because his son is HOT). David Oyelowo, looking sparkly from his head to his toes. Ralph Fiennes, owning his receding hairline admirably (and yes, I would still hit that too). Channing Tatum looking orange. Mark Ruffalo with his wife. Common looking so handsome. Matt Bomer looking like perfection (with his husband Simon). Robert Downey Jr. and Susan. Jared Leto, just for Bedhead (she?s gross). Alan Cumming, wearing what can only be described as a flesh-colored suit (??). And sad-face Kit Harington, of course. Enjoy.

| Julianne Moore in custom Givenchy at the Globes: much better than usual? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Julianne Moore was a big winner last night for Best Actress in a Drama. I?m hoping that she?s a sure thing for the Oscar too. Julianne actually went for a decent red carpet look with this custom Givenchy. As we all know, Julianne?s taste level is not where it should be, and I?ve had a hate-on for her red carpet style for years. But I?m okay with this. Do I think the feathers are overkill? Sure. But I?m okay with it.
Dakota Johnson wore another sparkly Chanel, and here?s what?s bugging me lately: why are all of the red-carpet Chanel looks we seen recently so poorly tailored? This doesn?t fit Dakota?s bust. Why does Karl Lagerfeld hate boobs? Also: BANGS TRAUMA.
I?m putting Viola Davis and Allison Janney together because they were sitting together and they both freaked out when Prince came out. It was glorious. Viola is wearing a beautiful Lola Falana gown and Allison is kind of meh in Ella Zahlan.

| Naomi Watts in strapless Gucci at the Globes: killer or too lemon yellow? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I love Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber and if they ever break up I will lay in bed for an entire day. So when the two of them were interviewed by incompetent Ryan Seacrest (seriously, why don’t they let Kristen Dos Santos do the interviews?) I found them utterly charming and attractive. Seacrest asked Liev if he helped Naomi with her look at all and he said that he did help with the angle of her snake necklace. Everyone is buzzing about Naomi’s diamond Bulgari snake necklace, which is a repeat. She’s worn that incredible necklace five times in the last year. Sometimes she drapes the snake head around her back and sometimes she wears it in front.
While it’s easy to agree that the necklace is killer, people were more divided about Watts’ Gucci gown. I found it on point and I loved the draped bodice, the matching belt and her little white clutch. Kaiser thought the dress was too bright yellow. It was a nice pop of color, I thought. Plus she had the perfect accessory. Liev is so hot. Did you see him with his glasses? I wish he would win something for Ray Donovan already.
I’m including photos of nominees Frances O?Connor (The Missing), Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange (American Horror Story) along with presenter Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy wore an incredible pantsuit of her own design to the People’s Choice Awards so this goofy bow, shirt and tiered skirt combo is disappointing. Jessica Lange is really working that v-neck J. Mendel gown. Did you see Kathy’s Je Suis Charlie iPhone case? Oh and I know O’Connor from Mr. Selfridge. It took me a while to figure out what show I remembered her from, since she looks so different in period costumes.

| Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad at the Globes: try-hard or perfect & fun? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I think I saved the most controversial for one of the last fashion posts of the day. Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad. Her hair was big and fluffy. Her gown was the largest on the red carpet. Her boobs were hanging out. The slit was cut to her biscuit. There was some kind of built-in cape/sleeve drama. She was dripping in diamonds. And you know what? I kind of loved it. I loved how EXTRA she was. I love that she wanted to have fun. I love that she came with her costar as her date (Ryan Guzman). I love that Jennifer never thinks ?less is more.? Nope. More is always more. And J.Lo always does more.
I?m sorry, but Kerry Washington was such a disappointment. I think she lost her fashion mojo when she wore Marchesa a few years ago and she?s never gotten it back. This shiny Mary Katrantzou was too stiff and weird. The skirt was bad. The colorblocking (or whatever that is) is terrible.
Felicity Jones in Dior. The only other person to wear Dior last night was Amal Clooney. I wonder if there was a mix-up at Dior? Anyway, I didn?t like this on the red carpet, in motion, but in photos? I sort of get it. I think it?s too conservative and stuffy for such a young woman though.

| Keira Knightley in custom Chanel at the Globes: did she lose her style mojo? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Keira Knightley was one of my biggest disappointments at the Golden Globes. That baby has stolen her style mojo!!! First Keira dressed like a banana at the BAFTA event on Saturday and then she shows up at the Globes in a Chanel bib and dust ruffle. TERRIBLE. Keira proudly stated that it took 30 people a week to make this gown. Their time could have been much better spent.
Claire Danes in Valentino. I have mixed feelings. Like, this dress isn?t boring and yet Claire was a total non-event on this carpet. Remember when we used to wait expectantly to see what she would wear? I feel like she lost her style mojo a few years ago. And this Valentino isn?t bringing it back. Sigh? I?m so tired of sheer breast panels.
When Amy Adams appeared on the red carpet, I actually liked her Versace gown a lot. I thought, ?Finally, she managed to get everything right at the same time.? Good hair, good makeup, decent dress. But? by the time Amy won Best Actress for a Comedy/Musical, I wasn?t into the look anymore. In these photos, the gown looks almost violet, but on stage it read as a dingy pale blue. I think the fit was off on top too. Should we give her credit for doing a better look than usual, or should we hold her to a different standard because she has so much potential? PS? her jewels are Tiffany?s.

| Sienna Miller in Miu Miu at the Globes: too revealing or not bad? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Sienna Miller celebrated her grand return to Hollywood by wearing a questionable dress to last night’s Golden Globes. Is this a bit much? Sienna donned MiuMiu with a huge order of double-sided tape. The v-neck plunged all the way to her waist, and sheer side panels barely preserved her modesty. Perhaps I’m being old fashioned. The flowery fabric and embellishments around the v-neck aimed for bohemian glamour, but I don’t know, you guys. This doesn’t feel like a dress someone wears when they’re going for the serious actress vibe.
With that said, Sienna does look gorgeous. Her face looks different than usual, but I think she’s lost a little weight lately, which would explain it. If the dress reached all the way to the floor, this gown may have seemed glamorous instead of like a teenager playing dress up in Jimmy Choos. Those Tiffany jewels were luscious.
Katie Holmes presented last night. Girlfriend flubbed Matt Bomer’s name (she called him “Matt Bomber”). She wore Marchesa, of course. This isn’t a terrible dress by Marchesa standards, and Katie was playing it pretty safe — even though eggplant is rarely a good color for the red carpet. The dress was simple and strapless with a bit of a train. I think she should have worn her hair loose and wavy, but her smoky makeup looked good.
Matthew McConaughey (nominated for True Detective) showed off his new scruff, which is for a Civil War-era role. Time is a flat circle, etc. Matty dressed it up in an aubergine three-piece tux by Dolce & Gabbana. Camila Alves is so beautiful, but I feel like she takes great care to never upstage Matthew on the red carpet. She wore a Monique Lhullier strapless column gown in pale pink. This was a boring dress, and the big hair didn’t help much.
Kristen Wiig went for the curtains look in a white Delphine Manivet number. The bottom half of this dress held some promise, but the peasant-y top was simply confusing. She does have lovely shoulders, no? This was not the correct dress to show them off. Overall, this dress was sloppy, but I’m digging funky hair and makeup. And she’s always funnier than her co-presenter, Bill Hader.

| Emma Stone in a Lanvin jumpsuit at the Globes: unflattering or adorable? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
What was the general consensus on Emma Stone?s Lanvin look at the Golden Globes? I saw some people complaining about the gigantic butt bow, but you know what? I kind of didn?t hate it. I know many people consider Emma to be one of the best Fashion Girls out there, but I usually think her style is lacking, especially over the past few years. But I liked that she went with a custom-made Lanvin jumpsuit, because lady-pants were rare on the Globes red carpet, and I think the bow made it special. I don?t know? I kind of liked the whole look?
Lorde was another pants-wearer. Lorde was up for Best Song for ?Yellow Flicker Beat? and this was her first time at the Globes. She decided to wear a custom Narciso Rodriguez and as I said on Twitter last night, I liked it. It was different, it was keeping with Lorde?s style, and it was actually pretty flattering. I like that she dressed it up with the big diamond necklace too.
I was surprised by the fact that Salma Hayek was a total non-event. Like, no one was talking about her and I think people forgot she was there. This dress is McQueen and it emphasizes how much weight she?s lost. God, she looked SO tiny.
Anna Kendrick usually disappoints me, so I go into Kendrick fashion coverage with low expectations. So this Monique Lhuiller look was a pleasant surprise. Yes, it?s not high-fashion and yes, it?s not the most exciting thing ever. But she looks pretty and the dress is very flattering.

| Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein at the Globes: one of the best or boring? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
As predicted, Reese Witherspoon didn’t take home best actress for Wild. That of course went to Julianne Moore, who is probably going to sweep this awards season. Still, this was a solid showing for Reese, who brought Wild author Cheryl Strayed as her date. Cheryl and Reese seemed very comfortable and chummy together during their red carpet interviews. Reese got to tell the little story about how she fell in love with Wild after a whirlwind reading session and contacted Strayed about securing the movie rights. (She didn’t phrase it that way of course, it was more like she was reaching out to make a friend.) I sound cynical because I am, but Reese played it well as she usually does.
Also well played was Reese’s sideswept hair, perfect smokey eye paired with peachy lips and dazzling Calvin Klein gown. This is a movie star dress and don’t you forget it. I’m so impressed with this look. Reese is a lady who is not going to make any more false moves, down to dressing cute and smiling for the paps on an average day and looking like a million bucks at an awards ceremony. Reese is bringing it, and I really want to see what she’s going to wear to the Oscars.
Kate Beckinsale also wore metallic, which was popular last night, but she wasn’t half as successful as Reese. Now that she’s messed with her face it adds a kind of layer of desperation on top of her otherwise lovely looks. I hate to say that, but it’s hard not to notice. Plus her hair is shellacked on top of her head in a mound shape. She’s in Elie Saab, which might have worked with some more subtle styling. Her earrings are competing with the dress.
Here are Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, who gave a cute intro speech for the Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical category. (That went to Michael Keaton for Birdman.) They have a new Netflix series coming out this year called Grace and Frankie. Lily joked that she predicted that they would get an internet show before the internet came out, and Jane said she must have been high. Then they joked that it was “nice that men are finally getting the recognition they deserve for being good at comedy.” It was one of many funny and entertaining moments last night. I wish the Oscars could be as good, but they never are.
There was a story that Jane Fonda’s boyfriend passed out last night due to heat exhaustion, but The Hollywood Reporter corrected that report to indicate that another attendee fainted, not Fonda’s boyfriend, Richard Perry. It must have been intolerably hot there, so many celebrities were fanning themselves.

| Rosamund Pike in Vera Wang at the Globes: uncomfortable or pretty? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Rosamund Pike was trending on Twitter for a while last night after she was one of the first major stars to walk the Golden Globes red carpet. This might be controversial, but I don?t think any new mom should wear this. Rosamund said that Vera Wang had made this for her especially, so it?s not like Rosamund picked this off the rack or something. Vera Wang thought this gown was utterly appropriate for a lady who only gave birth a month ago. For the record, I?m not saying Rosamund has anything to be ashamed of or that new moms should be at home, in the kitchen or something. I just think a recently postpartum lady should not be left so? EXPOSED. The cut-outs on the sides were too much. Also: Rosamund confirmed that she had a boy, but she refused to say his name.
Julianna Margulies wore this Ulyana Sergeenko and Bulgari jewels. This was a disappointment, right? Right. Usually Julianna has great style and she knows her body and what looks good. But this is just? blah.
Robin Wright in Ralph Lauren, and back with Ben Foster. I guess they made up. Huh. I wonder if the engagement is back on? As for her Ralph Lauren? it?s okay. Eh.

| Jennifer Aniston in black Saint Laurent at the Globes: boring or cute? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
I didn?t think Jennifer Aniston looked bad at all at the Golden Globes. I mean, of course she wore a black dress. She loves wearing black for major red carpets, and to give her some credit, this Yves Saint Laurent (or I guess we?re calling it Saint Laurent now?) gown was a lot better than the usual black dresses she chooses. I remember when she wore a black Lanvin to the Oscars many years ago, and it was like she was in widow?s garb. This black Saint Laurent is thankfully not widow-chic. It?s just a pretty dress. Of course, I have thoughts about why Jennifer chose Saint Laurent out of all of her possible designer options, but let?s save that for another day. My one big criticism: the thigh slit was too high. She tried to walk or move, it was like we were an inch of fabric away from being flashed.
I also have to give it to Aniston: I liked her styling. A lot! I like that she didn?t wear her hair down and in her face. The updo was sleek and red carpet-appropriate. I also liked that she wasn?t dripping in diamonds ? her Neil Lane earrings were apparently controversial on Twitter, but I like that she went for yellow-gold and black accents. Her makeup looked good too.
As for how she behaved? well, I?ll admit that I was barely paying attention to what she said, but CB told me that Aniston seemed drunk. When Aniston presented with Benedict Cumberbatch, it seemed like a combination of nerves and alcohol. Hey, at least she wasn’t stoned.
As for Justin Theroux? eh. What do you want me to say? The Emoting Eyebrow was in full force and his smile looks so fake.

| Katherine Heigl in Zac Posen at the Globes: incredible or too plain? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
|
One of my favorite looks last night was presenter Katherine Heigl’s navy blue formfitting Zac Posen gown. So Posen redeemed himself after the fug dress he made for his childhood friend, Lena Dunham. I prefer very classic, simple styles and this was just to my taste. I love the inverted v detailing at both the waist and midway down the skirt where it flares into a train. The look may have been a bit cookie cutter but I thought she was so pretty, especially with her loose curls and styling. On the red carpet with Giuliana Rancic, Heigl made the blunder of saying that Posen knows how to dress her “fuller figure,” which of course is incredibly relative in Hollywood. She’s in no way fuller, which Giuliana called her out on. I think she’s referring to “fuller” vs. sample sizes or whatever size Giuliana is.
Heigl had on blue drop earrings a statement ring and some simple bracelets. I like that her jewelry was understated and that she didn’t overwhelm the look with a large necklace.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus also wore a deceptively simple but gorgeous gown. She was in a white Narciso Rodriguez one shoulder dress that featured very light beading across the bodice and a silky, flowing skirt. She accessorized with drop earrings and a large stone ring and wore her hair loose and long. So many great choices added up to a beautiful look.
Louis-Dreyfus was up for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy, which went to Gina Rodriguez.
Also in white we have Emily Blunt in Michael Kors with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She was nominated for Into The Woods for Best Actress In A Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, which went to Amy Adams. In still photos I don’t appreciate the dress and styling as much as I did on camera. She was going for a kind of Grecian look which I found unique and pretty. I especially liked her braided updo.

| Diane Kruger in shimmering Emilia Wickstead at the Globes: flawless or fug? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I kind of don?t even have words for how much I love Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger. At the Golden Globes last night, Diane actually had the rare opportunity to go to an event just to support Joshua, and when The Affair won Best TV Drama, the look on her face was amazing. She was SO surprised and SO happy for Joshua. It was so sweet. I could watch them smiling at each other for hours. As a couple, they are one of my favorites.
They were also one of the best-dressed couples of the night, if not THE best. Diane wore this Emilia Wickstead gown which was FLAWLESS. I don?t know if you saw this live on E!?s red carpet, but it was beautifully tailored and it fit her perfectly. It moved beautifully. It shimmered. She looked gorgeous. Diane always styles beautifully too ? her hair and makeup were perfection, and her Kwiat jewels perfectly suited the gown. Emilia Wickstead is an English designer getting more and more attention these days because Duchess Kate has worn several Wickstead designs in recent years. I would love to see Kate in one of these amazing Wickstead gowns.
Diane also carried a ?Je Suis Charlie? sign. Diane and Joshua actually split their time between America, Canada and France. Diane owns an apartment in Paris and she always talks about how much she and Joshua love spending their downtime in Paris.
I?m also including photos of Joshua?s costar in The Affair (she?s his on-screen wife) Ruth Wilson. Ruth won! Which is exciting for her. She wore this green Prada which I hated on stage on at the Globes, but looks pretty in still photos.

| Kate Hudson in Versace at the Globes: gorgeous or try hard? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Presenter Kate Hudson was in one of the most revealing dresses at the Globes last night. I’m going to be a little snarky and say that all that skin distracted from whatever she had done to her face, probably a touch of Botox. She didn’t look outrageously different, but you could tell she’d done a little something. Kate was in this deep v-neck Versace gown that reminds me of two other famously revealing Versace numbers, worn by Elizabeth Hurley and Jennifer Lopez. Fun fact: both of those dresses have their own Wikipedia pages. Kate’s dress wasn’t quite up there in terms of memorability, but this was a fun, bold look and she really pulled it off. She definitely has the physique for it. Her hair, makeup and jewelry were perfection too. Well done.
Also looking a little pinched but otherwise incredible with have Catherine Zeta-Jones in a blood red strapless Angel Sanchez gown. I love how the hemline is just right above the ground, making it look like she’s floating. The dress also features a draped slightly asymmetrical bustline that has two trailing ends similar to a small silk scarf. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that detail on a gown before and it’s clever. Overall a great look from Zeta-Jones and positively regal.
Helen Mirren was also rocking red in a fitted Dolce & Gabbana gown with a floral sequin pattern around a scoop neckline. She wore a pen as a brooch in honor of the murdered journalists in France. Other celebrities similarly carried tributes to Charlie Hebdo including Amal Clooney and Kathy Bates. The Daily Mail has a nice overview here. Helen is flawless as usual. Her drop earrings are excellent. Helen was nominated Best Actress In A Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for The Hundred Foot Journey. That went to Amy Adams.

Taking a night away from their parental duties, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt headed over to the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday (January 11).
The ?Guardians of the Galaxy? guy and his gorgeous ?House Bunny? wife (who wore a Reem Acra dress with a Judith Leiber clutch) were affectionate as they made the rounds before heading inside.
Once again, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are tag-teaming the hosting duties, following outstanding reviews over the past two years. And this time around the Cecil B. DeMille award will go to George Clooney. HFPA President Theo Kingma explained, ?It didn?t take us long to pick him. He is someone who?s made big contributions to both film and TV, and who is beloved by the industry. There is also the other George Clooney, a man who has used his platform to make us aware of places like Sudan. It?s an incredible combination.?
