| Halle Berry on working with Pierce Brosnan: he restored my faith in men | Added 116 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Halle Berry is busy promoting her new Netflix movie, The Union. My husband and I watched it last weekend. I liked it, but he did not. It followed the basic format of its genre and I correctly guessed the back-half of the movie?s plot twist within the first five minutes, lol. That was exactly what I was looking for in that movie and it hit its marks. Plus, I appreciated that almost every actor who was playing a spy in it was over 40.
Anyway, Halle did one of Wireds Autocomplete Interviews, which features celebrities answering questions about themselves that have been taken from Google?s autocomplete search results. One of the questions Halle was asked was, ?What James Bond movie was Halle Berry in?? (Halle played Bond Girl ?Jinx? in Die Another Day.) In her answer, Halle responded with some high praise for Pierce Brosnan, who was playing Bond at the time. According to her, Pierce is such a wonderful human being that he restored her faith in men.
What James Bond movie was Halle Berry in? That would be Die Another Day with Pierce Brosnan, Berry said in the video, in response to a prompt derived from Google searches with her name. He will always be my Bond, always.
I am a Pierce Brosnan fan. He restored my faith in men on that movie, she added. There couldnt be a human who is more of a gentleman than Pierce Brosnan.
Die Another Day marked Brosnans fourth and final turn playing British spy Bond. He first played the role in 1995s GoldenEye, and Daniel Craig memorably took on the part following Brosnan, beginning with 2006s Casino Royale. In Die Another Day, Berry played an American intelligence agent named Jinx. The movie released six months after Berry won her Academy Award for her role in 2001s Monsters Ball.
Bond wasnt on my wishlist, no, to be in one, but I loved the movies always, Berry further recalled of making the movie while speaking with Wired. But having been in one, I feel like Im a part of cinematic history. Those movies are iconic, they will forever be a part of our history, and Im really honored to have been part of one, especially with Pierce.
Berry has noted Brosnans kindness towards her on the movies set in the past, including in 2020, when she shared during an appearance on The Tonight Show that Brosnan once saved her from choking while they filmed a scene together.
?I was supposed to be all sexy and and seduce him with a fig,? she said at the time. ?And then he had to get up and do the Heimlich. So not sexy. You should?ve seen it ? James Bond knows how to Heimlich.?
?He was there for me, she added of Brosnan during that interview. He will always be one of my favorite people in the whole world.
Berrys appearance in Die Another Day proved popular enough that the producers behind the Bond movies began working on a spinoff movie for her character, but as Variety reported in September 2020, the studio decided not to move forward with the idea.
?It was very disappointing. It was ahead of its time, she told the outlet of the idea at that time. Nobody was ready to sink that kind of money into a Black female action star. They just weren?t sure of its value. That?s where we were then.?
[From People]
I didnt know that Halle has spoken about how great Pierce is before. That is crazy that he had to perform the Heimlich on her! I looked up what was going on in Halle?s life around the time that she was filming Die Another Day and she was married to Eric Bent at the time. I?m glad Pierce treated her with kindness and respect on set. In response to Halle?s comments, people have been sharing stories on Twitter about their positive experiences with Pierce, from randomly running into him while out and about to confirming that he?s ?lovely? to crew members on set. In an age where so many actors have ended up being problematic, it?s really refreshing to hear stories of the good ones. Between Doug Emhoff, Gov. Walz, and now Pierce Brosnan, tonic masculinity is having quite the week.
Right now, Pierce is busy filming the film adaptation of one of my favorite new book series, ?The Thursday Murder Club.? He?s playing Ron, which I wasn?t behind at first, but am absolutely willing to give him the benefit of the doubt now. I cant wait for that movie, especially since were going to have to wait so long for book five.
Sometimes I'll see a headline about Pierce Brosnan and think "Surely, he isn't *still* that handsome." and I am always wrong. pic.twitter.com/ISOh4U6sGd

| Halle Berry has filed for sole custody of Maceo, her son with Olivier Martinez | Added 123 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

A few weeks ago, Halle Berry filed an emergency motion in family court. The motion was complicated since Halle and Olivier Martinez got a divorce, they?re both supposed to undergo coparenting coaching sessions to help them raise their son Maceo. Olivier was skipping his sessions because he wanted to take the summer off and travel back to France for a time. Halle seemingly took advantage of Olivier being out of town to file that ?emergency motion,? and the family court was like? this is not an emergency. But Halle is going to do her thing, and I knew something bigger was coming. Here we go? Halle has now filed for sole custody of Maceo.
Halle Berry is seeking sole custody of her son, Maceo, claiming that his father, Oliver Martinez, refuses to co-parent or communicate in a child-centered way.
Weeks after The Union actress, 58, alleged that her ex-husband, also 58, failed to continue seeing a co-parenting coach ? and after a source told PEOPLE that co-parenting hasnt been easy for the former spouses ? Berry filed a request for sole legal custody of their 10-year-old son on Friday, Aug. 16. Per legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, Berry is requesting custody, ?or in the alternative, tie-breaking authority to make all decisions? about his education, health and therapy needs.
The documents, filed in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County, arrive a year after they finalized their divorce, nearly eight years after their 2015 split. At the time, they agreed to share joint legal custody of their son, with Berry paying Martinez $8,000 a month in child support and an additional 4.3% of any income she receives above $2,000,000.
In the latest filing, Berry claims shes made an effort to address her sons educational challenges and additional behavioral concerns as she fought for tutoring, an educational assessment and finding an environment that was suitable to Maceo?s needs. The filing alleges that Martinez, however, has been oppositional, unmoving and withheld his consent for years.
Because of Respondent?s opposition to any interventions whatsoever for years and because of Respondent?s prioritizing soccer activities over Maceo?s educational and psychological well-being, Maceo?s educational and behavioral challenges worsened, and he continued to fall further behind in school, the document alleges. Specifically, Berry claims that Maceo would act out toward her following longer periods of custody with his father and that her son would repeat disputes that the former couple had in private. She alleges that Martinez claimed the boy was old enough to make his own decisions.
A lawyer for Martinez told PEOPLE that he will be responding to these allegations in the coming weeks. A representative and a lawyer for Berry did not respond to PEOPLEs requests for comment.
[From People]
It sounds like Maceo has some special needs and instead of Olivier and Halle coming to an agreement about their son?s education and priorities, Olivier is the devil-may-care father who lets Maceo do whatever he wants while Halle has to play bad cop. I mean, this is Halle?s narrative. I wonder what Olivier?s narrative will be. To think that they managed to keep it together long enough to complete their divorce over the course of eight years, only for Halle to challenge the custody agreement one year after their divorce was finalized.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez were married for two chaotic years, 2013-2015. They welcomed their son Maceo in late 2013 and it genuinely felt like Olivier wanted to marry Halle so that he could protect his rights over his son. Olivier saw first-hand what Halle tried to do to Gabriel Aubry over their daughter Nahla, and Olivier was like ?that?s not going to happen to me.? And it didn?t. After a few weeks of back-and-forth accusations and drama in 2015, they managed to keep everything pretty quiet. I don?t even remember the last time I heard one thing about or from Olivier. Well, as it turns out, it?s taken them this long to work out the exact terms of their divorce. Like so many celebrity couples, Halle and Olivier bifurcated their divorce. They were officially ?divorced? in 2016, but it?s taken them eight-plus years to work out the custodial issues, child support and more. Well, everything was just completed.
Halle Berrys long road to finalizing her divorce to Olivier Martinez is officially over ? after the ex-couple hammered out a formal custody and child support arrangement that has the actress paying big bucks.
Heres the deal ? back in 2015, Halle and Olivier split after 2 years of marriage. The exes have one child, 9-year-old Maceo. They had a prenup, but the case still dragged on for years because there were some unresolved issues on custody and child support.
Fast forward to August 2023 Legal docs were filed in L.A. County Superior Court, which officially tied up the remaining loose ends on these issues. According to the new court docs, Halle and Olivier agreed to joint legal and physical custody of Maceo. The docs also say Maceo will attend individual and family counseling. Halle and her daughter, Nahla, (from her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry), can sit in during the family sessions. But Halle?s current boyfriend, Van Hunt, is not allowed to participate.
Halle will have custody of Maceo Monday to Wednesday and Olivier will get him Wednesday to Friday, with some variations due to school closures. The pair will alternate custody of Maceo on the weekends.
As for child support, Halle has to pony up $8,000 a month to Olivier. She will also pay an additional 4.3 percent of all income she receives above $2 million.
It doesn?t stop there ? Halle must also cover Maceos private school tuition and 100 percent of his extracurricular activities, including soccer. Shes also on the hook for Maceos health insurance both medical and dental as well as any uninsured expenses.
[From TMZ]
I mean, Olivier comes across as profoundly jobless, but then again, Halle was always the breadwinner in their relationship and I don?t think $8,000 a month is too egregious given her net worth and income potential. It?s taken them eight years to come up with this Halle paying Olivier less than $100K a year in child support, plus she?s paying for all of Maceo?s school costs. Olivier didn?t take her to the cleaners and he seemingly kept it all about Maceo?s best interests. Good for him, I hope.
Anyway, I enjoyed looking at these old photos of Halle and Olivier. They were a total smokeshow for that brief moment they were in love. Like, you KNOW the sex was mind-blowing.

| Halle Berry signed a multi-picture deal with Netflix following the success of 'Bruised' | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Halle Berry has had quite a great year. Not only has Halle found love, her career seems to be soaring as well. Halle made her directorial debut with Netflixs Bruised this month which was Netflixs number one film of the week domestically. Bruised received over 47 million views in its first five days and also claimed the number one spot in 21 countries. Halle has now signed a multi picture deal with Netflix. Scott Stuber, Netflixs Head of Global Film, said that theyre looking forward to working with Halle because of her prolific career. Below are a few more highlights from Deadline:
The announcement comes one week after Netflix?s global release of her feature directorial debut, Bruised, which quickly landed the streamer?s #1 film of the week slot in the U.S., and has charted at #2 on its Top 10 Global English Film List. Bruised hit #1 in a total of 21 countries, and was watched for 47.7M hours in its first five days.
?My directorial debut, Bruised, was a labor of love and I knew that Scott [Stuber] and Ted [Sarandos] would treat it with great care,? said Berry. ?The Netflix team has not only been collaborative and creative, but extremely passionate and a delight to work with. I am beyond grateful for the partnership and look forward to telling more stories together.?
?There are few people with a career like Halle Berry. She?s an award winning actress, producer and as audiences saw this past week, she?s an incredible director,? added Stuber, who serves as Head of Global Film at Netflix. ?We?re thrilled to be in her corner as she delivers power in front of and behind the camera in Bruised and look forward to telling more stories together.?
Outside of her new deal with Netflix, Berry will soon be seen in two upcoming features from the streamer, including writer-director Matt Charman?s sci-fi pic The Mothership?which she is also exec producing?and the action film Our Man From Jersey, in which she stars alongside Mark Wahlberg.
[From Deadline]
I am so excited for Halle, truly. When she was on Tamron Hall last week, Halle said that it is time for Black women to take their rightful place in Hollywood. It would seem that Halle will be at the forefront of that movement. As much as Halle has irked me over the years, when it comes to her art, I believe that she is sincere. I think with this deal with Netflix that Halle will bring us stories about women and Black lives that would definitely be uplifting. I havent seen Bruised yet as I have been traveling but from the trailer and the few scenes I have seen, I believe that Halle will excel as a director. Halle has had a prolific acting career and I believe there is a depth to her that has yet to be expressed. I hope that this new journey will take Halles career to new heights. As Deadline mentioned Halle will also be in a couple of upcoming films for Netflix (one she is exec-producing) and I am sure they will give us an idea of what to expect. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what comes out of Halles partnership with Netflix.

| Halle Berry did stunts with broken ribs for three days on the set of Bruised | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Working while injured has become a badge of honor it seems in Hollywood. Tom Cruise continued acting after breaking his ankle while filming Mission Impossible: Fallout. Halle Berry broke two ribs while filming John Wick 3 which forced production to shut down for eight weeks while she recovered. Halle learned from that experience and not in a good way in my opinion. Halle recently stated that she broke two different ribs on the first day shooting her newest movie and directorial debut, Bruised (out tomorrow on Netflix). Halle told USA today that after this happened she didn?t tell anyone because she didn?t want to be responsible for shutting down production. Instead, Halle continued to film fight scenes for three more days without complaint.
?I knew if I told (producers) this happened, they would shut down and I would probably lose my funding. I just willed myself to do it,? she says. ?I took a bunch of Advil and I just acted as if it wasnt happening.?
Six-time UFC champ Shevchenko, who plays Lady Killer in the film, remembers it similarly. ?Every single take you have to do with your full power, full speed,? the fighter recalls, noting the bruises that audiences see on their bodies are real. ?You could tell something happened.?
Berry, 55, who had trained relentlessly in judo, taekwondo and Muay Thai for more than two years, also knew what delays cost: Making 2019?s ?John Wick 3,? production shut down for eight weeks when she broke her ribs.
After Lively moved on, Berry and screenwriter Michelle Rosenfarb re-envisioned the character as a has-been, middle-age fighter and absentee mother on a quest for redemption. When she couldn?t find the right director, Berry put herself up for the job.
?I felt like I was at a point in my career where I had to bet on myself,? she says. ?I had to make it happen.?
Onscreen for much of ?Bruised,? Berry?s famous bone structure is disfigured under bulging black eyes, blood or both. She loved it.
?Especially being me and people always commented on how I look, it was so liberating to wake up every day and the more (expletive) up I looked, the better it was going to be for the days work,? she says.
[From USA Today]
I know for some that this is a flex but I don?t believe that it is. In a way it?s sad that she felt she had to do this to keep her investors for her directorial debut. I believe no matter the job, my priority must always be my health. Not to mention it?s also dangerous. What if Tom got a traveling blood clot from breaking his ankle or if Halle bruised some organs without knowing it? When actors injure themselves they should tell someone. At the same time, it is also insane that Halle was able to work through that much pain. The injury may have helped inform her character because MMA fighters are constantly breaking things and sustaining injuries. Halle got the opportunity to fully experience what MMA fighters go through. Anyways, I hope Halle has spent time to allow her body to heal. I am glad she didn?t sustain anything worse.

| Halle Berry on Van Hunt: I wish I had met him sooner so I could love him longer | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Halle Berry and her new beau, musician Van Hunt, went Instagram official back in September 2020. The have since been gushing about each other every chance they get. Halle is profiled in Womens Health. She said that she is madly in love and wishes she had found Van earlier so she could love him longer. Halle also told People TV last month that Van created the title song for her new movie, Bruised, and that he was supportive of her directorial debut. Below are a few highlights via People:
I wish I had met him sooner so I could have loved him longer. I just feel fulfilled. I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist, said Berry. Im a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didnt serve me and didnt make me feel the way I need to feel as a woman.
Speaking to PEOPLE (the TV Show!) special correspondent Adrianna Costa last month, Berry said her boyfriend was by her side while making Bruised, a film about a retired MMA fighter who is pushed to get back in the ring when her young son re-enters her life.
I had a lot of support. ? [Hunt] was a big part of that, she said at the time. He did some music for the movie. He actually wrote the title song.
When asked by Extra last month if she and her partner are madly in love, Berry replied, We are, before adding, Sometimes you have to wait for things in life. I waited patiently ? well, maybe not patiently, but I waited.
[From People]
I am truly happy for Halles new found love. However, I will always be concerned about someone who seems to fall into patterns like Halle does. I hope that Van is a good guy and that she has grown enough to recognize when someone isnt good for her. I also hope each of them have autonomy in this relationship. It is super sweet that Van was on set with Halle while she filmed and that he wrote the title song. They seem to genuinely support one another. Heres to a great directorial debut for Halle. Her film Bruised is currently at 70% on Rotten Tomatoes which isnt too shabby. And good luck to Halle and Van. Halle is right, sometimes being patient and waiting for the right one to come along works out in the end.

| Halle Berry: I got blamed for Catwoman but I worked hard, it wasn't my fault | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Back in October folks began tweeting about Halle Berrys turn as Catwoman. Catwoman was on peoples minds because the trailers and stills were coming out for the new Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson as Batman and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. Halle Berrys 2004 Catwoman bombed at the box office, with Halle graciously accepting four Razzie Awards in person that year. Critics blamed Halles performance for the failure of the movie.
This week Halle stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel show to promote her film Bruised, which she directed and stars in. Jimmy brought up the tweet that she sent out about receiving Catwoman love. Halle said that even though so many people were disappointed with the Catwoman movie, she knows she worked hard and thats not on her. Halle went on to say that shed love to do Catwoman again as the director of the film. Below are a few more highlights via Yahoo! and the interview is embedded below the post:
?I worked really hard to be a Catwoman. I learned capoeira. I did the work,? Berry said. ?The disheartening part was I didnt direct it, I didnt produce it, nor did I write it. I was just the actress in it. But for all these years I have carried I think, you know, the weight of that film. And whatever success it had or didnt have, somehow it seemed like it was all my fault. But it really wasnt my fault. But Ive been carrying it.?
The conversation started after host Jimmy Kimmel pointed out a Tweet that Berry posted in late October, after she started randomly getting love from people who were discovering, or re-discovering, Catwoman and praising Berry?s performance.
?So when that came up,? Berry said of the random Twitter praise. ?It gave me a chance to sort of like? to stick it back.?
Catwoman was nominated for seven Golden Raspberry ? or Razzie ? Awards, given to the year?s lousiest films. It won four, including Worst Picture and Worst Actress for Berry, and with a Best Actress Oscar already in her possession from 2001?s Monster?s Ball, Berry was a great sport and actually showed up to accept her trophy.
[From Yahoo!]
I am not gonna lie, I did not like Halles Catwoman movie but not because of Halle. I loved how Halle mastered the whip. The problem with Catwoman was it was poorly written and produced. Halle had no control over those things and she is right, it is not her fault. I dont think Halle should play those gritty, kickass roles because I feel those are energies that Halle struggles to grasp (hello Storm). Halle makes a great love interest (Boomerang), comedienne (BAPS) and a down on her luck woman (Monsters Ball), but not a heroine or antiheroine. I wonder how well she did as the ex-MMA fighter in her new movie Bruised. It now has a 70% Rotten Tomato critics rating, with people praising Halles directorial debut and performance.
It is interesting that people are looking back at Catwoman 17 years later and making Halle feel better it. Catwoman also gave me my favorite song of 2004, Scandalous by Mis-Teeq. I am not looking forward to seeing Zoe Kravitz in the role despite liking her. The actresses that played Catwoman best at this point are Eartha Kitt and Michelle Pfieffer and you can fight me on that.
I loved it and Gothikapeople were just haters. pic.twitter.com/JFC9wr4yzK

| Halle Berry on Van Hunt: 'It was finally my time & the right one showed up' | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Halle Berry has been quite public with her romance with musician Van Hunt since last September. They have done several interviews, including this sickly sweet one for Entertainment Tonight in March where Van stated that Halle is helping him be a better person. Halle and Van share a lot of loved up photos and Van often refers to Halle as his muse. Halle and Van attended the Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration this week. In an exclusive interview with ET Online, Halle, who has been married three times, said that the right man has finally shown up. Some highlights:
I mean because its my time. It was finally my time and the right one finally showed up, Berry, 55, expressed.
The two looked sensational posing together, with the actress wearing a floral Dundas x Revolve gown, while Hunt rocked a deep purple suit.
Berry revealed she was dating Hunt in September of last year, and hasnt been shy about showing off their love. ET spoke with Hunt in March, where he opened up about how he definitely considers Berry his muse.
Berry has previously been married three times. She and Olivier Martinez were husband and wife from 2013 to 2016. The two share 8-year-old son Maceo. She was also married to Eric Bent from 2001 to 2005 and David Justice from 1993 to 1997. Berry and ex Gabriel Aubry also share 13-year-old daughter Nahla.
[From ET Online]
So yall know I try my very best not to judge a situation because I am not there to see how these people interact behind the scenes. But as I said before, this relationship is starting to feel like every other relationship Halle has been in. Halle seems to have a pattern. Halle tends to choose men not as famous as she is. The beginning of the relationship is a love fest. Three to four years later, the relationship crashes and burns in a dramatic way and the only side we hear comes from Halles camp.
I want to be optimistic about this new found love Halle has found. I really want it to work out for her and Van, but my spidey senses are definitely tingling. Then again, it aint none of my business (sips tea). I wish Halle the best. I hope she has done the work that would allow this relationship to be healthy for both parties involved. In the mean time, I will continue to follow this relationship because I love love and always want these sort of relationships to work. Also I must admit that Van and Halle look really good together.

I?ll give Halle Berry some credit she was easily one of the ?big moments? of what was otherwise a rather dry Oscar red carpet and ceremony. | Halle Berry's child support payments to Gabriel Aubry were cut in half | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Last month, Halle Berry made some shady comments about how she doesn?t ?owe? men anything, and there was some conversation about how, actually, California family courts have repeatedly ordered Halle to pay one man, her ex, Gabriel Aubry. I wondered, at the time, why Halle was even referencing the Aubry drama (however obliquely) considering she spent the past five years or so rehabilitating her image after their custody and child support war. As it turns out, that child support issue was on her mind at the time. Halle and Gabriel have updated their child support arrangement now that their daughter Nahla is 13 years old, and presumably now that Halle is making less income too.
Halle Berry has just had her monthly child support owed to her ex, Gabriel Aubry, in support of their 13-year-old daughter, cut in HALF. Sources close to the situation tell The Blast, the X-Men actress and Aubry recently negotiated a settlement in their ongoing child support case, after arguing over the amount.
As of March 1, 2021, Halle Berry will now pay her ex $8,000 a-month. As we reported, Halle was previously ordered to pay Gabriel $16,000 a month in child support. In the ex-couples new agreement, Halle will pay retroactive support Gabriel in the amount of $85,000 and agreed to continue to pay Nahlas private school tuition and health insurance.
In the new agreement, Halle will also pay Gabriel additional child support if her income exceeds 1.95 million in a given year, and she must also contribute $5,000 to Gabriels attorneys fees and costs.
The ex-couple are both represented by high-powered attorneys in the deal. Gabriel is represented by Mark P. Gross of Brot Gross Fishbein, and Halle is represented by Marina Zakiyan of Beck of Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside.
Going forward, Halle and Gabriel agreed to exchange annual income information, which will include complete income and expense declarations, tax returns, and profit and loss statements. The good news, they also have agreed to attempt to settle future disputes through a private judge, to keep this case out of courts.
[From The Blast]
I?m sure Halle is happy that she got the monthly support cut in half, but I?m super-curious about the fact that she has to pay back-support. Did she refuse to pay his support for six months or something? It sounds like it. As much as Halle?s defenders will call this an unqualified win, it?s quite common in family law for there to be updates to the support agreements depending on fluctuations in income. It?s far more likely that Halle gets to pay less to Gabriel these days because she?s simply not making as much money as she used to. Jeremy Renner claimed the same thing in his (still-ongoing) dispute with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco he went to court to cry poverty and say that he shouldn?t have to pay her so much (reportedly around $30K a month) while he wasn?t working as consistently.
