Late last week, the Mary-Kate Olsen-divorce story exploded and I was shocked! The Olsen Twins are super-private, and I just kept thinking about how all of the tabloid attention was probably the most uncomfortable thing for MK. Mary-Kate Olsen married Olivier Sarkozy in 2015 after dating since 2012. They always seemed like an odd couple, but no one outside their circle could really get a read on them or what they were about. As it turns out, Olivier is mega-petty and he likely kicked MK out of their leased Gramercy Park home and canceled the lease behind her back. That?s how we found out about everything: she was trying to file for divorce during the lockdown but the NY courts wouldn?t allow her to file, and the court denied her emergency petition too.
Regarding the court denying her divorce petition, a legal source said to the Post (via People): ?Domestic violence is an emergency, perhaps refusing to provide health care is an emergency. I want to be divorced because I want to be divorced now is not an emergency.? Yeah, except that he was kicking her out of their shared home before she had a chance to move her stuff out. But the same legal source said that the judge who rejected her emergency filing might know that MK owns other properties in New York state (two apartments in the city and a house in the Hamptons), so it?s not like she would really be homeless. Sources told the Sun that the ?breakup is bitter? and that Olivier absolutely ?threw his wife out of their New York apartment after she filed for divorce in April.? We also heard that one of the reasons for their split was that she was focused on her career, while Olivier is ?very French? and he basically wanted a stay-at-home wife. Now People?s sources are saying some more stuff:
Mary-Kate Olsen, 33, and her husband, Olivier Sarkozys, 50, inability to see eye to eye on several issues ultimately led to their divorce after four and a half years of marriage. According to a source, one of the main issues that caused friction in their relationship was whether or not to have children. Sarkozy, who has two grown children with ex-wife Charlotte Bernard, didn?t want to have any more kids, while Olsen did.
?A few years ago, having a baby was not a priority for her. This has changed,? says the source.
Olivier has two grown kids and doesn?t want more, a fashion source tells PEOPLE. Mary-Kate thought he would budge on that and he hasn?t.?
But it wasnt only children that drove the fashion mogul and banker apart.
?Olivier is a party boy and a big spender,? says a banking source. ?He loves the high life.?
Meanwhile, Olsen who runs two clothing brands, The Row and Elizabeth and James with her twin sister Ashley, is more reclusive.
?Mary-Kate prefers to be quiet and alone and doing the things she likes,? says a fashion source. ?She?s not that interested in socializing?she likes small gatherings with select people. They ended up being apart quite a bit.?

So they broke up because A) He wanted her to be home more, B) he wanted to socialize and party more and she wasn?t into it and C) she wanted a kid and he didn?t. It feels like Team MK is just throwing some different theories out there, but it also just sounds like they never had anything in common, really. And yeah, when a dude remarries some much younger lady, often the younger lady will (gasp) want to have a kid. I don?t know. It sounds like Olivier is a douche, but it also sounds like they never should have been together in the first place.

Jude Law and Phillipa Coan had a quiet wedding almost one year ago exactly. Jude had obviously been married before (Sadie Frost) and had been engaged before (Sienna Miller) and it?s actually been sort of nice to see him so settled down and comfortable with a seemingly quiet woman who works outside of the film industry Coan is reportedly some kind of psychologist or therapist. Jude is 47, Phillipa is 32. Jude is also already the father of five children three by Sadie Frost, one by Samantha Burke and one by Catherine Harding. His thing with Burke was just a fling, but I think he actually had a relationship with Harding, however brief. My point is that Jude has had a lot of child support payments for many years. So I was surprised this past February when he talked about his openness to having another kid with Phillipa. Turns out, they were probably already expecting:

Phillipa was dressed in navy loungewear and sunglasses as bearded Sherlock Holmes star Law carried the bags at an upmarket grocery store in north London.
The pregnancy comes months after Jude, who already has five children with three previous partners, revealed that he would ?absolutely? be open to having more. The Talented Mr Ripley actor said: ?I love it, so absolutely why not? I?m very lucky to be involved with someone I?m madly in love withThe idea of having more children would be just wonderful. I?m fortunate to be with someone where I?m having more fun than I?ve ever had in my life.?

I?m including the bump pics below she?s already pretty far along, well into her second trimester. I mean? congrats to them? I don?t have any kind of read on Phillipa, but I think she?s good for him. He?s seemed happier and just calmer since they got together, and he clearly loves having babies with all kinds of ladies.

Katharine McPhee and the cast of SMASH are reuniting tonight to stream 2015s Bombshell in Concert to benefit the Actors Fund which helps Broadway actors struggling for resources. The whole cast is coming back, including Debra Messing and Leslie Odom, Jr. and Renee Zellweger is introducing the show. While promoting the benefit to Access Hollywood, Kit Hoover asked Katharine about a throwback photo she?d posted in January 2019 of herself and Meghan Markle when they attended the same performing arts school. Katharine said Meghan was in high school, the same class as her sister, while Katharine was in middle school so they weren?t close friends back then. Years later, when Katharine was performing Waitress in the West End, she and husband David Foster connected with the Sussexes at a fundraiser. She claims Prince Harry and David formed a very special relationship, one in which David has become a father figure to Harry.
Breaking it all down! Katharine McPhee gave some insight into her husband David Foster?s friendship with Prince Harry as well as her history with Meghan Markle.
?When I was in London doing Waitress [on the West End], we went to a big charity event. Me and David just put ourselves in a position where we could just at least say hello, and they were really gracious,? the American Idol season 5 runner-up, 36, told Access on Monday, May 18.
?My husband has, like, a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry,? she continued. ?They?re so cute. They?re like father and son. We just stay in touch with them.?
She also spoke about Foster, 70, helping the Duke and Duchess of Sussex find a house in Canada to rent in December 2019.
?We just want them to end up wherever they feel safest and happiest,? she told Access. ?I had very little to do with that [Canada home]. David?s the one who?s the resource guy. He knows all the places. He loves to help people. We just hope they end up somewhere where they feel like they can really settle down.?

Kit asked Katharine about the relationship, so I don?t think Katharine was exploiting it or anything, but the story is so random. Mainly it sounds like this very special relationship all started about a year ago when she was doing Waitress, so that was? fast. As far as I can make out, neither Katharine nor David attended the Sussex wedding. But maybe Harry and David just got on like a house on fire from the beginning. As far as David releasing the information that he?d helped them with their Canadian retreat last year, I find it kind of funny how many famous people want their names attached to the Sussexes? residences.
I?m sure David and Harry do have a nice relationship, but I am also sure that folks are working extra hard to get their names in the same sentence as both Harry and Meghan. I do find Katharine?s phrasing interesting, though. Katharine is speaking about Prince Harry and her husband?s relationship as ?father and son? when Harry is only six months younger than Katherine herself. Were I Katherine, I would probably try to stay away from any parental analogies when referring to my spouse?s relationship with someone my age.
