I was too distracted by checking out Kendall Jenner‘s booty in leather pants to notice at first, but now that my eyes have finally made it up all the way, I’m pretty sure that Kendall’s got her shirt on backwards here. And I thought big-name fashion models were supposed to know how to dress. Oh […]

| Sienna Miller: 'Having a baby' made Hollywood take me seriously | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Sienna Miller has a new interview with the Guardian Observer to promote American Sniper. The film is still in limited release but nabbed a decent per-theater average, so it’ll probably open up wide soon. The movie should attract a strong military crowd, and possibly another Oscar nom for BCoop. For Sienna, this film marks the begininng of a more serious film career. She had a rough few years, thanks to her “tabloidy persona.” Sienna says people take her more seriously now because she’s a mother. Hmm:
On “making a good movie”: “You said that with real surprise,? she says, then bursts out laughing. “You?ve made a good movie,? she says, repeating my line as it sounded to her, “FOR ONCE.” Chuckling, Miller adds: “Well … actually …”
Her upcoming big career year: “All the directors speak to each other. And once you crack that upper echelon of incredible directors, you?ve got people rooting for you. People who people listen to. I?ve never had that before.”
Her roaring 20s & the fallout: “Quite chaotic. People don?t want to see films with people they don?t approve of in them.”
Why things are looking up: “And I think having a baby really changed everything, if I?m honest. I think that?s where it began. The stakes are higher. You have someone that you want to be proud of you eventually. You?re aware of your own mortality. For me, as soon as I had a baby I had a vision of my life — and what was left of it.”
On the bad gossip: “I?m sure that factors. People who read the negative things [about me], the people who need persuading, are probably ignorant enough to assume, ‘Well she?s got a kid so she?s serious now.? Which, of course, isn?t the case. I?m still whoever I was. Maybe more mature, but the same. So amongst that ignorant, ridiculous area of my industry, I?m sure opinions of me have changed because I?m a mother now.”
Why she sued the tabloids: “Because at a certain point I started to believe in their perception of me. I kind of lost myself in it. I felt like I didn?t have an identity any more. The perception had become so big, and such a huge thing … I couldn?t really remember who I actually was.”
[From The Guardian Observer]
Ehh. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for Sienna. She seems to have her life on track, and she’s got a slew of high-profile movies (via her IMDb) coming out this year. But I think her newly employed status has less to do with a baby and more to do with her settling down in general. She was never drunkenly falling out of clubs (that I recall), but she did some dumb things. Stuff like fooling around with married men and really flaunting it. Remember these NSFW photos with Balthazar Getty? There was also the Burger King debacle. Sienna acted like a mess, and she cleaned herself up. Maybe I’m wrong though, and becoming a mother was the solution to her career woes. Thoughts?

She?s no stranger to accolades, and on Saturday (January 3) Reese Witherspoon was honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
The ?Walk the Line? Oscar-winner was fabulous in a black Michael Kors dress with pearl polka dot accents as she walked the red carpet and schmoozed with fellow celebrities.
Earlier in the day, Reese shared a rare snapshot of her two-year-old son Tennessee running on the beach via Instagram. Ms. Witherspoon captioned the sunset shot, "Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, Drink the wild air. -Ralph Waldo Emerson.?

| Rita Ora on the music industry: 'It has always been harder for females' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Rita Ora performed at several Jingle Balls last month. This is a photo of her on the NYC red carpet. Girlfriend looked like a fashion disaster from the front, and her cheeks were on full display in the back. Rita’s currently promoting her new gig as a judge on The Voice UK. She’s made a big fuss about an American takeover, but she’s still concentrating on the UK. She has a new interview with The Mirror, which claims Rita has amassed a $15 million fortune. I found that unbelievable at first because Rita’s only had a handful of hit singles. But she does have a fashion line, and she’s a face of Rimmel. Rita talks about some vapid stuff here, but she also discusses how hard it is to be female in the music industry:
On hotness: “I?m not going to deny it. If someone is hot, I?m going to say they?re hot, male or female, but it doesn?t mean I am going to go somewhere. It is just paying them a compliment.”
On flirting: “I don?t know what flirting is really. Sometimes in women friendliness comes across as flirting. That is not what it is. We get accused of flirting when we?re friendly or if we laugh at a joke, and it may not be as funny as other people think. I just have fun. I am 24, I have fun and I enjoy it.”
On women in music: “Without pulling the whole female card, I think it has always been harder for females in all aspects. Whenever we have an opinion it always seems to be taken out of proportion. As a woman in this industry it has always been a bit about proving yourself, so I?m proud to be on a panel with such successful men.”
Why some people fear feminism: “I think people take the word feminist really seriously and I think people are scared to use that word. In this industry, all the heads of labels are men. But every artist has to prove themselves, regardless of their sex. I have always been very vocal about the women sticking together. That’s my opinion.”
[From The Mirror]
I think Rita has a point about it being harder for females, and those difficulties extend far beyond the music and entertainment industries. The media does treat male and female artists differently. Dudes receive far more chances for bad behavior before being written off as a mess. At the same time, I think Rita is subtly referring to a very bitter Calvin Harris smashing her upcoming album to pieces. Sexism aside, it’s not smart for anyone to tie their success to a lover because relationships do go bad. Women already have a hard enough time succeeding without adding the whims of tantrum-throwing ex lovers to the mix.
Here’s a new 50 Shades poster from Rita’s Instagram account. She’s playing Christian Grey’s step-sister and told OK! that the movie “is going to make a lot of waves, I’ll tell you that much. It’s going to be awesome.”

| Leighton Meester: 'All people should' publicly self-identify as feminists | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

In the spring and summer of 2014, Leighton Meester starred in the Broadway revival of Of Mice and Men with Chris O?Dowd and James Franco. The show was well-received. One of the most interesting pieces of news to come out of it was this HuffPo essay that Leighton wrote about her character, the only woman in the play, identified only as Curly?s Wife. Leighton?s examination of her character reads as a feminist critique, and a well-researched one at that (she references letters written, decades ago, by John Steinbeck to an actress playing the part). I?ve always liked Leighton and wanted good things for her, and it?s always bothered me that Blake Lively came out of Gossip Girl with the bigger career/buzz. And you know what will help Leighton? The fact that she?s so smart and she?s thought about the politics of being a woman a little bit more than ?I like to cook, thus I cannot be a feminist.?
Wonder if Leighton Meester read Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting’s Redbook interview? The former Gossip Girl star is no stranger to the topic of feminism?after all, she wrote an op-ed piece for The Huffington Post over the summer titled “I’m Not a Tart: The Feminist Subtext of Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men.”
So when asked whether or not she considers herself a feminist during a recent interview with radio station B-93.7?s Broadway’s Electric Barnyard, Meester didn’t skip a breath before responding, “Yeah, it shouldn’t be some sort of sensational news item,” and added, “It’s something that I think all people should say about themselves.”
When she wasn’t discussing feminism, Meester answered a question that is probably on every Gossip Girl fan’s mind?is a reunion ever going to happen?! She was quick to answer this one, too, and unfortunately, her one-word reply was, “Nope.”
[From E! News]
Word. Leighton?s comments came just after the news cycle about Kaley Cuoco, so obviously, people are like ?OMG Leighton is throwing shade at Kaley!? I don?t think Leighton is being that specific about it though and it?s not like Kaley is the only vapid fool saying dumb crap about feminism these days.
Anyway, I love Leighton. She?s very matter-of-fact and no-nonsense. She seems very cool.

| E!: Johnny Depp & Amber Heard are in a 'really good place' now | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Last week, I asked the “where is Johnny Depp?” question. Johnny materialized on Saturday on the Yoga Hosers set. You can see a picture of him here. He’s covered in prosthetics, of course. Johnny doesn’t play “normal” anymore, and this Kevin Smith movie may be as ridiculous as Mortdecai looks.
For months, we’ve heard about how Johnny and Amber Heard were having problems after Johnny’s drunken HFAs speech. E! has a new story about Johnny and Amber rekindling their chemistry at Johnny’s mom’s birthday party. E! has a photo of Johnny and Amber in a car together. They enjoyed a “relaxed, comfortable,” and romantic evening:
Apparently, these two have turned a new leaf in the New Year.
Following a string of reports speculating that Johnny Depp and fiance Amber Heard are headed for a split, the couple, who got engaged in January 2014 after meeting on the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary, attended an 80th birthday party for Depp’s mom, which also served as an NYE bash, at West Hollywood’s Ago restaurant on Wednesday.
The attractive couple was photographed in the car together arriving at the eatery, and while Depp’s mug is barely visible in the pic (with the exception of his blue shades), Heard looked gorgeous, wearing a rose-colored eye shadow and bright red lips.
According to a source, the Italian restaurant, which is co-owned by Robert De Niro, was rented out for the occasion, and the low-key soiree served as a family friendly evening.
“Everyone had a great time,” the source said, adding that the party was “relaxed and comfortable” and “a great way to start 2015.”
The couple snuck in and out of the private bash, where guests included family and close friends, in an attempt to keep a low profile. And while the two found themselves at the center of breakup reports just one month prior, the insider says the couple is heading into the New Year with their romance stronger than ever.
“Amber and Johnny are really happy,” the source said of the Heard, 28, and Depp, 51, who have been known to have a roller-coaster relationship. “And their relationship is in a really good place.”
[From E! Online]
E! goes on to say that Johnny and Amber stayed at the party until 1:00 am. Dude is 51, how does he do it? I stay up almost every night until midnight, and New Year’s Eve still tires me out. E! also stresses that Johnny and Amber are both very “intense people” with “extreme personalities.” Remember when we heard about Johnny proposing to Amber because “she’s such a free spirit“? Either something has changed, or something is amiss with what’s being fed to the press. Amber previously admitted to feeding false stories to her friends to trick the press, so it’s hard to iron out the truth.

| Jennifer Aniston blames 'sexism, double-standards' for her tabloid persona | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
This post is just for some assorted Jennifer Aniston stories percolating through the system. Aniston?s Oscar strategist has been doing a good job getting the right kind of stories out there, and getting Aniston to do the right kind of interviews and profiles. And it is paying off. At the Hollywood International Film Festival in Capri, Jennifer tied with Amy Adams for the Best Actress Award. Aniston wasn?t in Capri to receive the award in person, probably because she was still on vacation in Cabo.
Jennifer will also receive the Montecito Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival later this month ? the SBIFF gives out awards like candy, for what it?s worth. Previous winners of the Montecito Award (and award for ?a performer who has given a series of classic and standout performances throughout his or her career and whose style has made a major contribution to film?) to Julianne Moore, Kate Winslet, Oprah Winfrey, Daniel Day-Lewis, Javier Bardem and more. Aniston is being honored along with (no joke) Michael Keaton, Steve Carell, Ethan Hawke, Felicity Jones, Patricia Arquette, Jenny Slate, Rosamund Pike, JK Simmons, David Oyelowo, Ethan Hawke, Chadwick Boseman and a partridge in a pear tree.
Meanwhile, CBS released some video clips of Aniston?s sit-down interview with Sunday Morning. We already read some quotes from this interview ? Aniston talking about the tabloids and how it?s all a soap opera, etc. She was asked about the still-constant headlines about Brad Pitt and their eleven-year-old split and she said: “I don’t find it painful. I think it’s a narrative that follows you because it’s an interesting headline. It’s more of a media-driven topic.” When asked if she keeps in touch with Brad, she said: “We’ve exchanged good wishes an all that sort of stuff to each other, but it’s not a constant thing.” Here are two clips:
What bugs me is that the clips make it seem like Jennifer just talked about tabloid nonsense rather than her performance in Cake. That?s not necessarily on her though ? the interviewer wouldn?t shut up about how Jennifer is the most famous and pap-stalked person in the world, ever (I mean, except for Angelina Jolie, amirite?????). She also blames ?sexism? for the tabloid focus on her relationships and whether she?ll have babies. Which? eh. Whatever, Jen. I give up. I?m letting the cake wash over me. *rocks back & forth*
