Lindsay Lohan has been soft-launching a comeback over the past couple of years. In 2022, she starred in the successful Netflix Christmas romantic comedy, Falling for Christmas. She then had a baby last summer and in January, made a rare appearance at the Mean Girls premiere, as well as a cameo in the film itself. Lindsay?s next project is another Netflix rom com that?s out on March 15, called Irish Wish. Well, since we?re in a weird era of entertainment in which everything old is new again, Lindsay has something else lined up on the docket. During an interview on Andy Cohen Live earlier this week, Lindsay confirmed that a sequel to her and Jamie Lee Curtis? 2003 version of Freaky Friday is happening.
Lindsay Lohan officially confirmed on Monday that the beloved 2003 body-swap comedy is finally getting a sequel. After years of anticipation, Lohan said on SiriusXM?s ?Andy Cohen Live? that she and Jamie Lee Curtis will return.
?It is [true],? she told host Andy Cohen. ?I don?t want to say too much. And we?re both excited.?
Lohan caught herself and cheekily added, ?I?m gonna speak for Jamie.?
The duo spoke with The New York Times last year to celebrate the film?s 20th anniversary and teased fans with hopes for a sequel.
?As I went around the world with ?Halloween Ends,? people wanted to know if there was going to be another ?Freaky Friday,?? Curtis told the outlet. ?Something really touched a chord ? I called my friends at Disney and said, ?It feels like there?s a movie to be made.??
Lohan added at the time that they?d ?only make something that people would absolutely adore.?
While she told People on Monday the sequel is ?in the process,? however, a date to start filming remains under wraps.
The first film starred Lohan and Curtis as a mother-daughter duo who magically swap bodies, but it wasn?t an original. Based on a 1972 Mary Rodgers novel, it was first adapted in 1976 with Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris and again in 1996 with Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffmann.
The 2003 iteration was the most commercially successful take, however, and grossed more than $160 million at the worldwide box office ? and spawned endless fan fever with every hint of a possible sequel in the decades to come.
Lohan, who was once deemed one of the most promising actors of her generation but left the spotlight amid substance abuse struggles, told People that she?s ?just excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take? the body-swap premise. ?I think we?re going to have a lot of fun with this,? she told People.

While Lohan is in her Comeback Era, I get the impression that Curtis is in her Oscar Winners Just Wanna Have Fun Era. I follow both actresses on Instagram and JLC always makes her affection for LiLo very clear. Lindsay has also referenced JLC in interviews before as someone who gives her advice and is a positive influence on her life. Honestly, I thought when they teased a FF sequel last year, it meant that it was already happening! I don?t really know how I feel about this, though. On one hand, I?m kinda over this ?revive or remake? phase in Hollywood. But on the other hand, I like the first movie and if I?m being honest with myself, I?ll probably end up watching the sequel too. What can I say? I talk a good game about wanting new movies, but in the end, I guess Im just in my Nostalgic Millennial Era.

Here are some photos from last night?s big New York premiere of Mean Girls: The Musical. I?m not into this at all, but I?m glad Tina Fey is getting paid, I guess, and I?m sure there?s a market for it. Tina has always had such a soft spot for Lindsay Lohan, and Lohan came out for the premiere (although from what I can see, Lohan doesn?t even have a cameo in the film). Lohan wore Alexandre Vauthier and she looks like she got some face updates for the premiere. Tina?s ensemble is so? lmao.
Megan Thee Stallion is part of the Mean Girls soundtrack and I?m sure Meg was a huge fan of the original film. Megan looked amazing and she posed with Rene Rapp (who plays Regina George).
Jon Hamm was there with his new wife Anna. Hamm has a small role in the film, as one of the teachers.

I forgot that Lindsay Lohan got engaged last year she announced her engagement to Bader Shammas last November. The reaction was mostly positive, and it feels like people who grew up watching Lindsay have been rooting for her to get sober and settle down and start working again. I honestly don?t think she?s cleaned up her life that much though, it?s just that she moved to Dubai and we don?t see her mess on a weekly or even monthly basis anymore. I?m sure she?s still the kind of person who does crimes and harasses immigrants. But she got engaged, and now she and Bader Shammas are married, People Magazine confirms. Lindsay posted a nice photo of herself and her new husband with this message:
I am the luckiest woman in the world. You found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time. I am stunned that you are my husband. My life and my everything. every woman should feel like this everyday

I?m a little bit surprised by how low-key this was? I mean, clearly there actually is some kind of market for ?let?s give Lindsay Lohan yet another chance,? and engagement stories sell, as do wedding stories. She could have milked this and gotten some magazine write-ups and sold the photos to? well, not Vogue, but one of the lower-tier bridal or wedding magazines. Or even Us Weekly, I bet Us Weekly would have bought the photos. It curious that Lindsay was just like ?hey we got married? one day on her Instagram. Which adds credibility to my theory that this is some kind of long con to hack into Credit Suisse accounts (Bader works at Credit Suisse). She doesn?t want too much fuss. They?ll never suspect a thing!

Can you even imagine drawing up a contract with Lindsay Lohan and expecting anything to come of it? Can you even imagine *wanting* to work with Lindsay in any capacity? We?ve known how unreliable and unprofessional she is for years now. I mean, she was an unhireable mess a decade ago, and little has changed since then. Still, HarperCollins thought it would be a brilliant idea to lock Lindsay into a contract for a memoir in 2014. They thought it would be a good idea to give her an advance!! They ended up cancelling the book deal and asking for the advance back. LMAO!
Lindsay Lohans art of the book deal consists of agreeing to write it, getting a huge sum of money and then failing to turn in a draft at least according to a new suit. Publishing company HarperCollins is going after Lohan, claiming she breached a contract she signed way back in March 2014 to write a book. According to the legal docs obtained by TMZ Lohan and her production company promised shed have it completed by May 2015 but it never happened.
Instead, HarperCollins claims it revised the due date to March 2017, and even paid her a $365,000 advance against future royalties.
However, HarperCollins claims the deadlines came and went, and Lindsay never delivered a manuscript. So, the publisher says it informed her in Sept. 2018 the book deal was off, and it wanted its money back. Theres a lawsuit, so you guessed it HC says LiLo never refunded the cash.
HarperCollins is suing Lohan for the $365k plus interest and legal fees. We reached out to Lindsay no word back so far.

I mean, obviously Lindsay Lohan should have returned the advance and all that. But I can?t help but think this is entirely a fool?s errand on the part of HarperCollins. What the hell did they think was going to happen? She?s a grifter and she hates anything resembling work! She was never going to write that memoir! And the fact that they still gave her an advance AFTER they had to revise the date (by two years LMAO) well, that?s on them! Just write off the $365K as a stupidity tax. And fire whoever thought it would be a great idea to give Lindsay Lohan a damn book contract.

Lindsay Lohan spent more time in America in 2019 than most people realize. We had gotten used to Lindsay being away, in Europe, Russia and the Middle East, for years now. I have my theories about what she was doing overseas and how she was supporting herself, but the official story is that she was opening a nightclub in Greece, or just living a quiet life in Dubai. Or something. But now America?s cracked-out sweetheart is ready to return home permanently:
Lindsay Lohan has plans to kick off this decade with a return to America, the big screen and music. The 33-year-old actress, who is currently in Muscat, Oman, joined Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper for a satellite interview on New Year?s Eve Tuesday and dished about what she?s got planned for movies and music in the coming year.
When asked if she has any resolutions for 2020, Lohan said, ?Yes, I do. I?m managing my sister, so I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I?m doing something soon in this new year. And, you know, just taking back the life I?ve worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys.?
Lohan is slated to star in Among The Shadows, which hits theaters on March 5, 2020. The film marks Lohan?s first role in a feature film since 2013?s The Canyons, though she currently has plenty of experience on the small screen. In addition to her short-lived reality television show, Lindsay Lohan?s Beach Club, the actress also judges the Masked Singer in Australia.

If Lindsay was just some wayward actress who burned out, left the industry for five years and came back looking for work, I would think that it was a good PR play and smart branding. See: Renee Zellweger. But that?s not really the case here. Lindsay left America after years of legal and criminal issues, rehab, probation, brief stints in jail and open drug and alcohol abuse. Then there?s the small matter of whatever the hell she?s been doing for five years. So no, I don?t think the entertainment industry is going to welcome Lindsay back with open arms. Mohammad bin Salman is the crown prince of the House of Saud, meaning one day, he?ll be king of Saudi Arabia. Most likely, although Saudi Arabia doesn?t actually follow the traditional ?first-born son of the king? thing. The current king chooses his favorite (maybe a brother, maybe a son or nephew) and makes that guy the crown prince. Mohammad bin Salman?s position as crown prince is notable because of his age he?s only 33 years old, but clearly, his family thinks he has a lot of potential. What else? MBS has a wife. MBS is also a killer, having ordered the assassination of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. And now we have a new title for MBS: possible sugar daddy to Lindsay Lohan. This clearly came from Lindsay?s people and I can?t stop gasp-laughing.
What the heck is going on with Lindsay Lohan and Mohammad bin Salman? A wild rumor hit town that Lohan and the bloodthirsty crown prince of Saudi Arabia have gotten close, and that he?s been flying her around in his jets and showering her with presents ? including a gift-wrapped credit card. And when we started asking around, a source in her inner circle acknowledged that they ?know each other.?
Now a rep for Lohan tells us that the pair met just once ? around a year ago at a Formula One Grand Prix race. The rep also denied that bin Salman ? who has been accused of ordering the 2018 murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi ? gave Lohan a credit card. Either way, pals of Lohan ? who even say they?ve seen text exchanges between the pair ? are boasting about what they claim is a new friendship. The rep called those claims ?lies.?

I mean? I?ve been trying to work out what to say about this without offending anyone and without taking it too seriously. I mean, it?s so fking random, there has to be *some* explanation for it. My theory is that Lindsay really did meet a Saudi guy and he was trying to impress her and he was like ?yes, I?m rich, I?m the crown prince of Saudi Arabia,? and she believed it even though he was just some guy. The only part of this that I really believe is that Lindsay is popular in the Middle East. I?m not saying she?s got a long list of dignitary boyfriends/johns, but I think she has enough interest from a handful of wealthy guys and? that?s how she supports herself.

Lindsay Lohan?s MTV reality show, Lindsay Lohan?s Beach Club, debuted last night. It didn?t feel like she really did that much advanced promotion for it, as she was only seen out and about on the day the show premiered, and that?s when most of her interviews dropped too. What I?m enjoying about this haphazard-seeming promotion is that? no one seems to be whitewashing Lindsay or pretending that everything is just fine with her. She sat down for an interview with Variety, and in the lead-up to the interview, Variety noted that ?Her last theatrical movie, ?The Canyons,? came out six years ago, and even independent directors stopped casting her because she wouldn?t show up to set.? Variety also notes that ?One sign of how many bridges she?s burned: Several of her former colleagues declined to be interviewed about what it was like to work with her.? Ouch. She was thrilled the first time she saw herself in a tabloid: ?The first time I was in a tabloid. ?I was like, ?Oh, my God, I feel like Britney Spears!? because she was in a tabloid and I felt cool. Little did I know what would happen from there.?
Why does she think people refuse to hire her: ?I think there?s a misconception that people still have about me, and I think it?s unfortunate. Hopefully, this will change people?s perception once and for all.
Her mistakes were so long ago, you guys: ?Ten years ago. I just don?t want to seem like a martyr. But it?s in the past. I always say to people, ?You do realize that was over 10 years ago?? But it was definitely unfair and unjust at certain times, especially as a girl. I worked at the morgue. I?ve been through the ringer. It was horrible. But from those things, I became a lot stronger.
Whether there is a ?Disney curse?: ?I don?t feel cursed? It was different then. There was less protection. So maybe that was the struggle. People know you so young and people are chasing you, and then instead of going to college, you have a month or two months off and you want to go to a club and that?s ?bad.? I don?t think there?s any curse with Disney. That?s just a dark thing to say. If anything, it was a blessing, because we?re all still here.
What Hollywood needs to do to bring about equality: ?Stop giving me s?! Stop rehashing my past for no reason, because everything is different now.?
Whether she misses living in America: ?Yeah, of course. I miss seeing my family. But my brother comes out every other month, and my sister is coming back with me. My mom came to Mykonos, but she didn?t want to be there when I was filming. We make time to see each other, and I talk to them every day when I?m in Dubai at odd hours whenever they call.
Her career goals: ?To work with Martin Scorsese. Work with Spielberg. I don?t know. I think goals are limitless, and there?s always going to be something new that I want to do. I just want to make people happy, and I want to stay happy.
Whether she considers herself a feminist: ?I?m just Lindsay Lohan. Whatever that is.

Prepare yourselves, because I?m about to give Lindsay credit for something: I appreciate that she?s not trying to build a comeback for herself with a narrative of ?I was victimized and bullied.? Lindsay really isn?t anyone?s victim, that?s not how she sees herself or defines herself. No, her comeback is built on ?it happened a decade ago!? Spoiler: a lot of that stuff happened more recently than a decade ago. The multiple trials and rehab stays and court proceedings and crack shenanigans were still happening in 2011, 2012, 2013, etc. Also: I laughed so hard at her answer about equality in Hollywood. Yes, the only thing keeping women from being equal in Hollywood is ?people giving Lindsay sh-t for her past.?

Lindsay is ?European? now, because she owns a nightclub in Greece and that?s why MTV gave her a reality show. I still can?t really believe that Lindsay?s life turned out this way. On one side, she?s managed to survive, which some of us weren?t sure would happen. On the other side, what could have been, eh? Anyway, Lindsay spends most of her time in Greece and the Middle East, but she believes that there?s still global power in the ?Lindsay Lohan? brand. She believes she should still be getting advertising contracts and endorsements:

A rep for the ?Mean Girls? star went trawling for deals on a Facebook group for publicists and marketers on Tuesday, writing that interested parties should ?reach out if you rep a brand that is interested in endorsement opportunities with Lindsay.?
They also rather grandly announced that ?acceptable brands include: fashion, beauty, car, lifestyle, CPG, fitness/lifestyle, food/drinks, entertainment/media, tech. Must have a substantial budget.? The response was, er, underwhelming. The post got three responses: one alerting a New York Post reporter to the gauche cash grab, and two from industry types asking for a ?ballpark? on what ?substantial? means.

I mean, I?m sure a lot of D-list celebrities have their publicists looking for work or endorsement deals too. I?m actually sure that Lindsay turns down some deals she?s probably been asked to be the face of various timeshare property frauds and assorted pyramid schemes. I imagine she turned down that kind of work because she didn?t get a big enough cut. Anyway, this is just further evidence, to me, that Lindsay truly lives in her own delusional bubble, where she?s still super-famous and desirable and she can still demand a ?substantial budget.? Why in the world would ANY company want to get in bed with Lindsay Lohan at this point?
