As we discussed this week, Lindsay Lohan has been in Cannes for the film festival. The Cracken doesn?t have any projects to promote, but she?s still meeting with Netflix about some shady-sounding ?TV show? which she will write, produce and star in. Something about Russian princesses and the oligarchs and she?ll probably need Netflix to finance all of her ?research trips? to Moscow. Lindsay stuck around Cannes to attend the amfAR gala. You guys, this is seriously what she looks like these days. HER NOSE. Those inflated cheeks! My God.
I feel a little bit guilty for throwing Uma Thurman in here right after Lohan, but here you go. I actually don?t hate Uma?s Armani look at all. I like the matching ?tie? too.
Sofia Richie in Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2017. I?ll give her some credit: this is more interesting than I would have expected. I don?t think she should have done the center part, low-key hair though.
David Beckham came to the gala! I?m disappointed that he didn?t bring Posh.
Paris Hilton with her boyfriend Chris Zylka. I have to say, Paris actually didn?t look too bad. She fits in at this kind of event. Her fringed-bib dress by Yousef Al-Jasmi is absurd though.

Eva Longoria’s Cannes fashion this year has been largely a miss and she’s been overshadowed, sometimes literally, by the models. So I was hoping for a better show from her at the amfAR gala and she just didn’t bring it. I used to like Elie Saab’s dresses and I know that’s a controversial opinion. Some of his earlier designs have been feminine and yet contemporary and you can tell that he tries to push boundaries with fashion, but lately his gowns have been a bad mix of too many trends put together. That’s the case with Eva’s gown, which might be ok if it was just those lines of Pink and silver sequins with the opaque netting in between, but then there’s that weird star pattern happening at the waist and the fact that the skirt becomes see through half way down. It just becomes too busy.
Joan Smalls was also in Elie Saab and I would like this dress much better without the giant necklace which becomes a belt. I know that adds drama but imagine it as just a necklace. The draping and cut of the dress give it interest, not the statement jewelry. I zoomed into the dress and it’s got perfect stitching along the side. I want it. Also, she looks incredible and I love the hoop earrings.
How did insta nepotism model Hailey Baldwin get the best Elie Saab? This has netting, velvet, sequins, a folded neckline and a belt and yet it’s all balanced expertly into a gorgeous dress. When Elie Saab gets it right the result is amazing. Plus the color is to die for. I can’t say the same for her styling. Do the shoes ruin it? Almost.
Damn look at Melissa George. Her gown is Schiaparelli and I love everything about this look. It’s feminine without being girly with slight touches of lace and sequins that work together perfectly. Her hair and makeup are incredible and I love the sheer panel in the skirt which reveals just enough. This is gorgeous.

When I was writing that story about fragile bros and their saltiness about two ladies-only screenings of Wonder Woman, I actually got a little bit emotional thinking about what Wonder Woman means to so many women and girls. Like, we?ve been saying for years that we wanted a stand-alone superheroine movie and we?ve finally – FINALLY! – got one. And it?s Wonder Woman, an icon of femininity and feminine power. I hope Gal Gadot is ready for little girls around the world to idolize her. I think Gal is ready for it, honestly.
These are some photos from the LA premiere of Wonder Woman Thursday night. Gal wore a Givenchy gown which looks sort of costume-y, and I suspect that?s the point. Like, the top part of this could easily be a DIY WW costume.

I can?t start with Chris Pine?s style. I love him and I love that he loves clothes, but he needs to stop with the three-piece suits and old-timey pocket watches.

Connie Nielsen in Alberta Ferretti Resort 2017. I would have loved this if it had two straps and it was just a really cute sundress.

The annual Cannes Film Festival amfAR gala is always a pretty big deal. Most of the celebrities who come to Cannes for the early days end up staying for longer specifically because they want to attend the gala, to it has become arguably the biggest event at Cannes. It might even be the biggest amfAR gala of the year (amfAR hosts several galas in different cities every year, but they always do one at Cannes). So, here are some photos from last night?s Cannes amfAR gala.
Nicole Kidman has been everywhere this year, and she?s been everywhere in Cannes. I?ve mostly enjoyed her dresses but her hair has been struggling. Her amfAR look might be the worst though. Did you expect Kidman to show up in this terrible Chanel dress with a too-tight top-knot? Ugh. This is a big nope.
Lara Stone in Chanel. Sadly, this could have been incredibly cute, but Karl Lagerfeld hates women and hates women with breasts, so he made Lara?s boobs look incredibly sad. The way this is cut in the bust is unacceptable and the belt just adds to the discomfort. If they had gotten it right, it would have been adorable.
Rita Ora also wore Chanel. I?m trying to work out my feelings on this one, because on one side, I think she looks sort of adorable. On the other side, I don?t think she looks like herself at all. I like that she doesn?t have one go-to ?look? and it?s fun to change things up, but the other side of that is that? I?m having issues recognizing her. Someone like Cate Blanchett can change up her style and look from carpet to carpet, but Cate always fundamentally looks like herself. Rita Ora does not.
Diane Kruger wore Alexander McQueen Fall 2017. When I first saw photos of this look, I thought it was just a boring dress. But it turns out this look involves pants!! So I?m in. I love a gala look that involves palazzo pants.

Here are some photos of Bella Hadid at the annual amfAR gala at the Cannes Film Festival last night. Bella has been in Cannes for the entire film festival, and she?s really been doing a good job, I think. This year?s Cannes has really raised her profile, and she?s been doing editorials and picking up ad campaigns right and left while she?s been in town. Plus, she?s been doing the red carpet thing and I haven?t hated her style at all.
Personally, I?m not surprised that Bella wore something crazy-revealing to the gala. That?s why she?s there! I am, however, slightly surprised that this is A) Ralph & Russo, a label I associate with more sophisticated looks and B) so ill-fitting. The ?granny panties? aspect of this is terrible, and I feel like half of her mons is hanging out. The top part is okay, but it would have been equally provocative with lining, just sayin?.
I would have expected Nicki Minaj to show up to the gala in something similar to Bella?s dress, but Nicki went with Roberto Cavalli and too-long extensions. The dress itself is rather boring and the crazy-long extensions? Eh.

Mariah Carey has never had a reputation for being a complete professional. When she?s getting paid, she?ll show up? if someone carries her. She?s reportedly always late to everything. She?s often too busy posing to actually sing or speak or interact with anyone. The one time I defended her recently was when she got majorly screwed over on New Year?s Rockin? Eve, where it seemed like everyone on the production staff pulled a Mariah and half-assed their jobs, and that made Mariah look terrible too. So, what happens if you hire Mariah to make a cameo in a movie? She shows up late. She refuses to do what she previously agreed to do. She makes everyone run around and try to work around her increasing demands. And she wants to deflect bullets like Wonder Woman.
Mariah Carey has picked up a rather unlikely celebrity feud. Actor and comedian Rob Huebel recently slammed the 47-year-old superstar singer after working together on comedy The House. The 47-year-old actor hit out at Mariah for her behavior on set during an interview on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Show on Wednesday. He said: ‘We did some reshoots with a pop star named Mariah Carey. It did not go well.’
The two are among the cast in comedy The House which is fronted by Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell. He asked if he was allowed to used profanity on the show before adding: ‘F***ing what is going on with her? It was bananas.’ Rob went on to detail as he claims that Carey showed up ‘four hours late’ on set and had ‘amazing requests’ including she needed ‘all white roses’ in her trailer with ‘stuffed lambs’ toys. Huebel claims she was cast to make a cameo playing herself in the comedy.
He explained: ‘She was hired to sing one song, and she was like, “You guys, I don?t want to sing that song.” They?re like, “We hired you to sing this song.”‘
Rob then details a different plan for the movie produced by Ferrell and Adam McKay as he says: ?So then they were going to do this bit where they shoot her, I think, and they kill her ? in the movie. Not in real life. But she didn?t want that. She was like, “I don?t think my character would get killed by bullets. What if I deflected them like Wonder Woman?” They were like, “Mariah, we don?t have time for [this]. You?re getting paid so much money. We have you for one day. We don?t have time to argue with you. Just do it.” She just didn?t want to do what they wanted her to do. Anyway, why am I talking trash about her?’
Huebel said that he isn’t sure if her scene will make the final cut of the movie before adding: ‘Just know, if you see her, they had to work for it.’

That sounds like a better film than The House. That?s the documentary I want to see – Mariah arriving late, acting pissy that her trailer isn?t full of stuffed animals (LAMBS ONLY) and white roses, then pitching a fit that people expect her to do what she was hired to do. Then when she gets the writers to rewrite her part, she again refuses because Mariah is a world-class screenwriter now and she knows what?s right for her character, and what?s right is that her character would be able deflect bullets. At what point is everyone going to just shrug and realize that this is who Mariah is? At what point are people just going to stop hiring her for anything?
