Having spent the past weekend in New Orleans for the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Brad Pitt continues to do his best to help the rebuilding efforts in Louisiana.
The "Meet Joe Black" actor took time to tour the eco-housing project set up by the Make It Right Foundation, which he set up in 2007 to assist people who lost their homes in the Katrina devastation.
During his days in New Orleans, breaking reports from the AP tell that Pitt narrated an NFL documentary titled "America's Game: 2009 New Orleans Saints" - which covers the Saints win last year over the Indianapolis Colts.
Airing on the NFL Network on September 8 at 9PM EDT, the showing comes just one night prior to the Saints' season opener.

Joined by her co-star boyfriend Penn Badgley, who followed behind his lady, the pair hit the trailers before delving into the day's workload.
The "Gossip Girl" sighting comes amidst continuous rumors of building strife between Miss Lively and co-star Leighton Meester.
A National Enquirer source alleges, ?Leighton thinks Blake is an egomaniac who views her time on the TV set as slumming. And Blake feels stifled. She?s just ignoring her co-star because she knows bigger things are in store."
Surprisingly, Miss Lively's rep didn't necessarily deny the claims, saying, "Blake and Leighton have never been best friends and never professed to be. Blake goes to work, does her job, and goes home."

Starting the day tending to her ongoing legal matters, Lindsay Lohan was spotted making an appearance at the Santa Monica, CA courthouse on Monday (August 30).
Still seemingly having a hard time grasping appropriate dress, the "Mean Girls" starlet rocked a pair of thigh-high stockings and a messy plaid flannel top as she checked in with her probation officer.
The trip comes as LiLo's papa is making headlines for his desire to open an addiction rehabilitation center.
The ex-con told Radar Online, "I'm going to have a protocol that will be have to be followed. I don't believe in prescription drugs. If people come in on them they're going to have to get off of them, otherwise they'll be looking for another rehab."
Papa Lohan added, "I believe spirituality and holistic methods can cure anything. God will be a major element in recovery."

The latest update in the Paris Hilton drug arrest drama is that she?s being charged with possession of a controlled substance.
And the nature and amount of the substance - .8 grams of cocaine- means that the ?Simple Life? babe is looking at a felony when the D.A. files the case later today (August 30).
Hilton landed in hot water after being detained by police for being in a car smelling like marijuana smoke. She asked to be taken into a nearby hotel where she tried to take her purse into the bathroom.
A police rep told TMZ, "As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggie begin to fall from the purse and into my hand."
Of course, Paris is maintaining that the drugs weren?t hers and that she borrowed the purse from a friend, not knowing the cocaine was in there.

Tomorrow is Sandra Bullock?s big interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show. She and Lauer already filmed it, though, and Today has started the steady release of quotes from Sandy?s first television interview since Jesse James? bimbo eruption. So far, we haven?t gotten any quotes about Jesse, or about the divorce, and my guess is that Sandra said a few things about him and then Lauer let her move on, not pushing it. Mostly, it seems Sandra talks about her son Louis and how he?s changed her life. My favorite quote is when she?s talking about all of the ?girls? in her family, and how she wasn?t expecting to adopt a son: ?And I didn’t think it would be a boy. We don’t have any boys in our family. Boy, is everyone really happy about that. So, he’s like the crown prince. You know, it’s nothing but girls in our family … It was just the hierarchy that needed to be broken.”
In her first television interview since splitting with Jesse James, Sandra Bullock says “everything works out the way the universe wants it to work out.”
Case in point: Her seven-month-old son Louis, whom she adopted from New Orleans.
“He’s a little Cajun cookie,” she tells the Today show’s Matt Lauer in the interview, airing Tuesday.
Bullock, 46 — who attended the ribbon cutting Sunday of a new $700,000 New Orleans health clinic she helped fund to mark the fifth year of Hurricane Katrina — says she loves being tied to the Big Easy.
“How lucky am I?” she asks Lauer.
Bullock and ex husband James, 40 — with whom she split earlier this year following reports that he cheated — began the adoption process four years.
“It was a long process,” she tells Lauer. “I did not circumvent. I wanted to do everything exactly the same way everyone else did. And– it was– he was always mine, you know. It wasn’t like I felt like someone was going to take him away. But it was nice to have someone say, I think you’re a fit parent.”
Bullock has said she always had “faith” she would end up with the right child.
“Everything works out the way the universe wants it to work out,” she says. “We had always said that it didn’t matter where the child came from. If they had issues that were medical issues, we didn’t care. It’s like the child that needed us in the home is the child that’s going to be placed.
“And I didn’t think it would be a boy,” she adds. “We don’t have any boys in our family. Boy, is everyone really happy about that. So, he’s like the crown prince. You know, it’s nothing but girls in our family … It was just the hierarchy that needed to be broken.”
Bullock kept her adoption hush-hush — and she credits her close friends with helping her do so.
“It takes good people with integrity,” she says. “I mean, I read something like, how did someone keep a secret, and it’s– you know– human beings exist that have integrity that know how to keep their mouth shut. That know the bigger picture, that don’t sell out their friends. Those people are all over the place. But again, we don’t like to talk about it, because it doesn’t sell a magazine. But I was blessed with the same friends I’ve had since before things got really special for me and blessed in life.?
“And when things get bad, they’re still the same friends,” she says. “And, you know, it– everything passes. It all passes. But they just– you know, they know if they screw up they’re not coming on the next vacation. I’m not going to babysit their kids. I will cut them. I will take them down.”
Kidding aside, she says, “I have friends and family that are filled with massive amounts of integrity. And it shouldn’t be an oddity.”

She sounds like she?s in a good place. I don?t know? I?ll judge her state of mind when I see the full interview, see what kind of inflections she?s using. My guess is that she?s still feeling pretty damaged from everything that?s gone on this year, but that she?s a positive person and she sees the glass as half full. Which? good for her, you know? I prefer this so much - a celebrity who is like, ?Seriously, I?m fine, I don?t want your pity.?

Having just made her way to the east coast, Jessica Alba was in promotional mode to kick off the week with a visit to SIRIUS XM Studio in New York City on Monday (August 30).

I almost feel sorry for Lindsay Lohan. By all accounts, she should still be the top news story, right? She got out of jail, got out of rehab, the judge ordered her to adhere to some hardcore out-patient treatment and if she doesn?t comply, her ass is going back to jail. She hasn?t even had her tabloid stories come out yet - you know, all of those interviews and Crackhead Diaries that she sold for six or seven figures. But everyone has moved on already - they?re paying attention to Paris Hilton?s coked-up ass and all of the Emmys stuff today. So what does Lindsay do? She puts on her best pair of light-wash camel-toe-revealing skinny jeans and goes for a very public walk with her rumored girlfriend, Eliat Anschel (the Israeli chick). Interested yet? Nope?
Well, Lindsay also did some cracked-out driving on Saturday night, as I updated yesterday. As she was doing some cracked-out driving in her new $150,000 Maserati Gran Turismo, she got pulled over by a cop, as she made her way to the Chateau Marmont. Allegedly, it was because she didn?t stop for a stop sign. And the cop let her go with a warning!
Out of jail and out of rehab, Lindsay Lohan sought out familiar territory Saturday night. Lindsay was going to the Chateau Marmont Friday night at 11:00 PM when she got pulled over — according to one account she may have rolled through a stop sign. The newly rehabbed Lindsay got off with a warning and was on her merry way.
It’s gotta be a reminder — one bad move and she’s in big trouble. Lindsay is counting on shooting “Inferno” in mid-November in Louisiana — if she runs afoul of the law, the judge almost certainly will not let her leave the state
The Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood was where she landed, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The famed hotel has long been a favorite Lohan hang-out. At one point, she actually lived in one of their suites for nearly a year.
Lindsay drove to hotel in a brand new $150,000 Maserati Gran Turismo, with her friend Eilat Anschel arriving there at about 11 pm. They stayed for just over two hours, hanging out in the lounge with other friends.
Lindsay is required to take two random drug tests and attend five AA classes each week. She also has to meet with a mental health professional for several sessions each week. Any failed test or missed class will sent her back to jail.

In one more piece of crackhead news, Lindsay?s old Freaky Friday costar Jamie Lee Curtis has some thoughts about Lindsay. JLC says: ?I just have compassion. I don’t know anything about the facts of any of the cases. What I have is compassion that a young child is thrown into the public eye and then has the media onslaught attached to it. Now, she’s made choices, I’ve made choices. We all have to live with our choices. But I feel empathy?These young people are thrust into a 24-7 camera and the thing that makes the press is the most exaggerated behaviors. So then they’re thrown out there in this media circus - and I can never judge one of them because I don’t know them, but I feel tremendous empathy for this overwhelming set of circumstances. I couldn’t handle having a camera on me 24 hours a day.”
Eh. I mean, yes, the 24-hour media cycle has changed everything, and yes, Lindsay can?t fart without it appearing on TMZ. On the other side, Lindsay, and many other young stars, totally play into the tabloid media because they want attention and exposure. Lindsay lives for this sh-t. Honestly. Case in point: she?s wandering around West Hollywood in a ripped up t-shirt and a bright Pink bra.

"Temple Grandin" also ended up winning for Best Director (Mick Jackson), Best Movie, Supporting Actor (David Strathairn) and Supporting Actress (Julia Ormond).
Making the night especially sweet, Temple, herself, was in attendance and happened to be celebrating her birthday on Emmy night.
After spending time with Miss Grandin, Miss Danes proceeded on to the party circuit - as she hit up the HBO bash before closing things out at Jimmy Fallon's Trousdale after party.

At last night?s Emmys, I have to admit that no one really blew me away with a look that was so fabulous, so right-on, so immaculate that I was seething with fashion envy/jealousy. But there were some good, even great looks. I actually thought Jane Lynch was one of the best-dressed of the night (above). She chose a very girly, princess-y gown in a deep amythyst color which looked great on her. She seemed to be the harbinger of two trends: jewel tones and one-shoulder gowns, both of which I wholly endorse. Plus, Lynch won last night, which was spectacular for her. WHOOP!
Claire Danes was one of my best-dressed of the evening. This is Armani Prive, and it could easily have washed her out. But something about the right tone and her hair - I don?t know, it really worked. It worked everywhere - on the red carpet, on stage, and in photos. It?s a fabulous dress, and Claire kept everything else simple in service of the dress, which was smart.

Ah, the Hot Men of The Emmys. Hot Guy Emmys? Hot Guy Awards: The Emmys Edition? Whatever you want to call it, there was a spectacular dearth of truly hot men at the Emmys. Sure, there were cute guys, and many very talented men. But panty-droppers and leg-crossing hotties? There were only a few. So let?s start it off with a classic, Mr. George Clooney. I thought he came across as a bit smug during his award presentation (for the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award), and his bronzing is reaching George Hamiliton proportions. But I still get hot for George sometimes. I mean, he knows how to wear the hell out of a tux, and you know he loves the kinkiest sh-t out there. Also - I can?t find any photos of Elisabetta Canalis anywhere, although most sources have her backstage at the Emmys. Clooney didn?t let her walk the red carpet and wouldn?t answer questions about her - which I think means she?s on the way out. So Clooney will be single soon, maybe.
Aaron Paul is adorable. Beautiful eyes. I would love to see more of him. And he won his first Emmy, bitches!

Sandra Bullock was on hand to help open the new health clinic at the Warren Easton Charter school in New Orleans on Sunday, the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Bullock is a major sponsor of the clinic and the school, an acclaimed public school with an almost 100% graduation rate. She spoke to the press that morning and joked that she was going to give a seminar in truth in journalism. Then she got serious and talked about the good that the school does. “I am personally tired of only hearing about the bad news [from] the media. When I firsthand have seen nothing but unimaginable kindness, perseverance and hope right under this roof here.” Here’s more of what Sandra said:
Despite the rain-soaked gray Sunday morning and the somber fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Sandra Bullock managed to get a laugh out of the crowd at Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans.
Flipping over an hourglass, the Oscar-winning actress joked, “THIS is all the time I have.”
Bullock, a part-time New Orleans resident, donated money to help rebuild the school and to open a student health clinic. She appeared at weekend events to pay tribute to those behind the hurricane recovery effort.
“I have seen nothing but unimaginable kindness, perseverance and hope right in this room here,” said Bullock. “It gives me great pleasure to be in the company of these people who have actually made the difference. They did the hard work, they are here sitting before you.”
Joking that she was beginning to sound like a politician ? “No offense,” she laughed to U.S. Sens. Mary Landrieu and David Vitter ? Bullock said that despite the devastation, the anniversary should be seen as day for celebration.
“These young adults have seen the very worst, and they are committed to the very best,” said Bullock. ” They are our future leaders. I would like to thank the students who step up to the plate and do the hardest work. I didn’t do it in high school, and it makes me so incredibly proud.”
Wearing a V-neck dark blue knee-length dress, black belt and heels, Bullock stood with school nurse Cassondra Ferrand and principal Alexina Medley and other officials to cut the gold ribbon on the new health facility behind the school.
“It was more than her money,” says Easton Foundation board member Arthur Hardy. “She is like our spiritual leader. She is our angel.”
“What do you say about a human being who just pours out their heart and soul, who puts their money where their mouth is, walks the walk, talks the talk,” adds Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “And even if is was just in a movie, she married a New Orleans boy.”

Sandra first interview post-scandal interview will be from New Orleans with Matt Lauer and will air on Tuesday. You can be sure that she’ll talk about her work with the school along with the efforts to rebuild the community post-Katrina. I love that she’s so involved in local causes, and that she adopted her son from New Orleans. She seems like such a caring person who is glad to help make a difference. She seemed to really acknowledge the unsung heroes in her speech, too, the people who give of themselves and don’t get the recognition that we give celebrities and politicians for their charity work. I’m anxious to hear what she has to say on Tuesday.

Is it wrong that my first thought on hearing that Scary Spice Melanie B was splitting with her husband of a whopping three years, Stephen Belafonte, was “what took them so long?” Several British rags are reporting that the couple is divorcing, although Melanie B has yet to officially comment Stephen has maybe-confirmed that they’re heading in that direction. He’s quoted as supposedly saying “Dude, it’s over. Mel’s coming back to the U.K. soon - but I won’t be coming with her. There’s been problems lately. I don’t know what’s happening.” Only according to The Sun, which is as about as reliable as all the other sources for this story, they’re still together but they have “rows, often fuelled by drink.” I love how Brits phrase things. They make even drunken fights sound fancy. Here’s The Sun’s report, which seems to be true in light of the fact that these two were just papped at dinner. We’ll have more on that in a moment.
FRIENDS of pop star MEL B last night denied her husband’s claims that their marriage had collapsed.
Film producer STEPHEN BELAFONTE, 35, insisted: “It’s over.”
He said she was moving back alone to Britain from the US, adding: “There’s problems. I don’t know what’s happening.”
But a close pal of the 35-year-old ex-Spice Girl said both had been put under stress by fly-on-the-wall TV show The Mel B Project.
The friend added: “Stephen can be a drama queen. There have been lots of rows, often fuelled by drink. But they’ll try and work things out.”

Melanie and Stephen have no biological children together but have been coparenting Melanie’s two daughters from previous relationships, Angel Iris Brown, three and a half, from Mel’s drama-filled relationship with Eddie Murphy, and Phoenix Chi, 11, from Mel’s marriage to Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar, which ended in 2000.
Melanie has been tweeting a lot but she hasn’t said anything about these rumors, as Contact Music points out. She’s mostly tweeting about her performances. She also has a new reality show on the Style Network coming up called “Mel B: It’s a Scary World.” It premieres this Sunday and I guess the question is whether Melanie and Stephen have fallen victim to the reality show curse before their show has even aired. It looks like Melanie and Stephen are hanging in there, though, as they were just photographed out to dinner at celebrity hangout Katsuya in LA last night. So was this whole breakup story just some publicity for their show? I wouldn’t put it past them.

Kendra Wilkinson has lost those pesky few baby weight pounds that she’s talked incessantly about for months, and she’ll tell you all about that too. The last time we reported on Kendra she was saying she would “100% have liposuction” after having a second baby she’s planning for with her husband, Hank Baskett. She also said “being fit and sexy is definitely important to me, and it?s what makes me happy” Kendra should be overjoyed, because she looks great. She blogged a photo of herself in a bikini lounging on the deck of her rooftop suite at the W Hotel in Miami with a friend. Her husband sent her there for a vacation before their reality show starts filming again.
On her website Friday, Kendra Wilkinson shows off photos from her recent trip to Miami.
She writes that her “amazing” husband Hank Baskett sent her down south for a few days.
“I definitely needed it!!!!” she writes. “We had the best time. We did a lot of wining and dining lolol.”
On Sunday night, she and her friends, Eddie and Brittany, dined at Hakkasan, a fancy Chinese restaurant at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach before hitting the hotel’s LIV nightclub.
“So much fun!” she said.
On Monday, the 25-year-old reality star — who’s dropped most of the 50-plus pounds she gained last year while pregnant — slipped into a bikini and relaxed while her pals went parasailing.
The trio then enjoyed “another great night out on the town!”
“It was a busy yet relaxing trip!!” said the mother of 8-month-old son Hank IV. “No matter how much fun I have, I?m always happy to go home to my family.”

In our last story on Kendra, I said it was naive and depressing to try and derive happiness from a “sexy” body, but it’s not like Kendra is a very deep person. We had a great comment on that story from SarahS, who wrote “She has gotten rich and famous from her body, and been rewarded with attention and money solely for how it looks. For her to equate her physical appearance to her happiness makes sense to me. Its sad.” That’s true, and now that she’s shed that last bit of weight she can show it off, get pregnant with another baby, rinse and repeat. (To borrow one of Kaiser’s phrases.) I don’t dislike Kendra exactly, I just find her disingenuous and predictable. She’s fooling herself in a way too, especially when you consider how she “told all” about her troubled past but didn’t seem to be affected by it at all. As long as Kendra is “fit and sexy,” she’s happy, so maybe I’m imposing my standards on someone who’s kind of oblivious to the things that would bother the rest of us. She’s famous for being one of three women to live with Hugh Hefner at the same time, posing nude and putting out a sex tape so it’s not like she’s ashamed of much. She’s a nice person, though, and she deserves to be happy. She obviously is.

Johnny Depp took part in a benefit concert and poetry reading in Little Rock, Arkansas over the weekend to help pay the legal fees of the “West Memphis Three,” a group of then-teenagers who were convicted in 1993 of the murder of three eight year-old boys. There is recently uncovered DNA evidence at the crime scene that points to another suspect, the stepfather of one of the murdered boys, and many believe that the teenagers were wrongfully convicted. I don’t much about this case, but it’s been the subject of two different documentaries and several books. There’s a huge movement to free these men. (You can learn more about it on Wikipedia, this Salon article and on some of the many websites for their defense.) Retrials have been denied and the case is scheduled to go before the Arkansas Supreme Court on September 30th. During the performance Depp read from the diary of one of the convicted men now on death row, Damien Echols, and performed guitar while Eddie Vedder and Patti Smith sang. Some videos are below.
Johnny Depp, along with Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines, held a music and poetry session Saturday to help raise money to pay legal fees for the West Memphis Three, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The West Memphis Three are Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols and Jessie Misskelley, Jr., three men convicted in the 1993 murders of three West Memphis 8-year-old boys. Depp has gone on record saying he believes the three men wrongfully accused of the crimes and vowed to help raise legal fees to help with their defense.
More than 2,000 people packed Little Rock’s Robinson Center Music Hall to support the West Memphis Three. Many in Arkansas say the West Memphis Three were wrongfully tried and convicted.
Depp and other celebrities are not the only ones asking for the release of the three men. Some of the parents of the three children killed now back the convicted getting new trials and hope celebrities like Depp and others will bring national attention.
Depp grew up Owensboro, Kentucky, about 200 miles outside Arkansas.

I didn’t know Depp grew up in Kentucky! This isn’t the first time he’s been involved with this cause, as Depp spoke out on behalf of these men earlier this year on a 48 Hours special on the case. It was good of him to lend his celebrity, and I hope that these three men are finally granted fair and complete trials after 17 years behind bars, especially in light of all the evidence that points to another murderer.
