In 2022, Jennifer Lopez: Halftime came out. It?s worth a watch J.Lo is very raw in the documentary, and there are some genuinely intimate moments caught on camera as she?s promoting Hustlers and preparing to perform at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime show. She?s upset that Hustlers didn?t get any awards-season love, but she tried to just eat the pain and keep moving, and there?s a really sweet moment where she?s rehearsing for the Halftime show and Emme comes in and convinces Jennifer to check out the kids? dance class next door (and that moment inspired an incredible visual in the halftime show).
I bring up Halftime because it?s one of my favorite celeb-documentaries in recent years, and I?m genuinely looking forward to watching her new doc, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. It?s supposed to be a companion piece to her new album (This Is Me? Now) and her musical film (This Is Me? Now: A Love Story). The musical was hilariously bad to me but others feel differently and so be it. But I will devour this doc, which comes out today. Jennifer let cameras into the home she shares with Ben Affleck and their kids, and cameras follow her around as she?s making the album and the musical film. It should be chaotic and TMI. Speaking of, here?s a little preview of coming attractions:
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck?s past relationship strife is water under the bridge. In her new Amazon Prime documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, the Waiting for Tonight singer, 54, opens up about the ways in which she and the Air star, 51, have found harmony together after pressing pause on their relationship for nearly 20 years.
At one point, Affleck asks Lopez if she?s forgiven him, or is angry at him.
?I think I was angry at you for a long time,? she tells him in the doc. ?But that heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out to being better people. I think I?ve forgiven you all the way. I think I need to forgive myself [for] some things.?
After meeting on the set of their movie Gigli in 2002, the pair were engaged later that year, and were set to be married in September 2003. But days before, they postponed the wedding, citing ?excessive media attention.? After briefly splitting in the wake of the canceled nuptials, they officially called it quits in January 2004.
In the documentary, director Dave Meyers ? who helmed This Is Me?Now: A Love Story ? says that when Lopez and Affleck broke up, it was ?catastrophic? ? and the On the Floor artist explains that losing him was hard because he wasn?t just the love of her life, but her best friend.

In that sliding-doors situation of Ben not sabotaging the engagement and going through with the 2003 wedding? it would have been a completely different kind of heartbreak for both of them. They wouldn?t have survived as a couple for very long, and Ben would have had to scratch the sabotage itch in many other ways. As Jennifer Garner knows. There was always something to be said for coming back together in their late 40s/early 50s, at a point in their lives where the biggest self-sabotages are behind them. Hopefully. I guess I?m saying that I understand why J.Lo was mad at him for a while and why she?s not mad at him now. They both had to figure out a lot of their sh-t separately. And I?m still not convinced that they?ve figured everything out, but whatever. God bless. I?ll watch it.

As many know, I have been a longtime supporter, promoter and enjoyer of all things Bennifer Redux. I rooted for them to get back together and I was beyond pleased when it all came together in 2021. In J.Lo?s mind, Ben Affleck was the one who got away. In Ben?s mind, he had a lot of regrets about how he cracked under the bright hot spotlight. They came back together when they were older and wiser. They seemed committed to not making the same mistakes as the first time around. They gave less of a fk about what people said about them. The culture changed too what was widely mocked in 2003 is celebrated in 2024. So, that?s where I was a longtime Bennifer Defender. I believed in them and I hoped that Ben wouldn?t fk it up. Guess what? Jennifer is the one fking it up.
These are photos from last night?s premiere of This Is Me? Now: A Love Story. That is the ?musical film? Jennifer produced alongside her new album of the same name. In her Variety cover story this week, Jennifer makes it clear that no one believed in this musical film, to the point where she had to self-finance to the tune of $20 million. Not only that, many of J.Lo?s longtime friends and allies were like ?girl, please don?t do this, this is absolutely bonkers and way too much.? Even Khloe Kardashian refused to take part in the musical. Ben appears in the musical, and the whole thing is about how it took her nearly 20 years to get back to him. Not only that, she did a documentary about their love!!
All of which to say, at the premiere, Ben seemed to be recreating some of the 2002-03 photos where he appeared trapped and looking for the exit ramp. Jennifer wore Zuhair Murad I don?t like this, but whatever, it?s not offensive. I really have a pit in my stomach about everything else though. I mean, maybe the reaction will be ?this is so camp, we love it.? But good lord, I wish J.Lo could just BE happily married and not have to make a musical film and a documentary about her fourth marriage.

Bennifer has been relatively quiet for months. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been seen a few times walking arm in arm down a street, or going to dinner, or having an argument in a car but it was an incredibly quiet summer for them, and I imagine it will be a quiet fall. I?m fine with that I wish them well and I believe in them. I believe that it?s different now, that Ben has had enough of scratching his self-destructive itch, that he?s really making an effort to ensure that this marriage works. This is one of those rare situations where it feels like ?no news is good news.? Now, Page Six and other outlets are desperately trying to convince people that there?s drama behind the scenes, especially with their blended family. ?Sources? shut it down:
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are crushing co-parenting ? and they have Jennifer Lopez to thank for it. The singer has helped her husband and his ex-wife get to a ?better place,? a source told the Daily Mail Thursday.
?Ben is healthy,? the source continued. ?The drama of the past and the emotions of divorce are long gone and they are all making it work.?
In fact, Lopez herself is ?friendly? with Garner and all of their children ?love each other.?
?It is really a very happy co-parenting situation,? the source furthered.
The Grammy winner is the mother of twins Emme and Maximilian, 15, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck and Garner share Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11.
?Everything is really good right now and should be the same in the near and distant future,? the source gushed, going on to note that the actor, 51, and Lopez, 54, have also had ?many talks? about her co-parenting relationship with Marc Anthony.
?They all have been able to figure it out,? the outlet reported. ?It is actually inspiring and nice to see.?

I actually believe this? I don?t think Garner wants him back and I think she?s happy to see him with J.Lo. Or rather, Garner got there eventually, and I would also assume that J.Lo made an effort as well. I find the blended family aspect fascinating it?s clear that Emme and Seraphina were instantly tight, just as it was clear that Ben felt comfortable with J.Lo?s twins right away. As for Marc Anthony? from what?s I?ve heard, he?s barely involved with those kids, but whatever. Anyway, this is just my update I think Ben & J.Lo are fine, despite the efforts to make them sound like their marriage is already full of drama.

Here are some photos of Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez and Violet Affleck on the Fourth of July. There?s always at least one major ?industry party? on Independence Day, and this year Michael Rubin hosted it. The dress code was ?all white,? which? eh. It feels very early-aughts, doing an all-white dress code for a summer party. I remember those Hamptons parties with all-white dress codes. Still, Bennifer was game and so was Violet.
Violet is fully her mother?s daughter I always do a double-take whenever I see photos of her, because it inevitably looks like Jennifer Garner and J.Lo are hanging out. I wonder if J.Lo does the same double-take. Violet not only paired her white dress with pigtails, she also wore a mask at the party. She?s 17 years old and she?s still like ?actually, I don?t want to catch anything.? The only other Hollywood type I?ve seen wearing masks still, to this day, is Leo DiCaprio (and I mostly think that?s about the paparazzi).
Speaking of Leo, Ben and J.Lo are both Leos, with Jennifer?s birthday coming up on July 24th and Ben?s birthday coming up on August 15. Will they do another birthday trip in Europe? Will they get a yacht? I hope so. There are also persistent rumors that Ben and Jen will do a vow renewal this summer for their one-year anniversary. I hope not I hope they just go on a big birthday/anniversary trip.

I?ll just put this out there at the top: I?m not worried about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck?s marriage, actually. I think, as a couple, they?re fine. He adores her, she worships him. They?re two 50-something divorcees who know how much give and take there is in a marriage and what they need to do to look after each other. Now, I am slightly concerned about some other things! I?m concerned that J.Lo?s glam squad is dysfunctional and I?m concerned that Ben is going to lose his mind on a paparazzo at some point.
These are photos from last night?s LA premiere of The Mother, J.Lo?s new Netflix film. She was in New York most of last week doing promotion for this movie and she was moving around solo, with no Ben (he stayed in LA). I?m glad that Ben came out to her premiere, because I think that means a lot to her, that Ben will come out to her events too. Now, most of the photos of Ben from the red carpet are just of him trying to kiss Jennifer or talk to her he wasn?t very interested in posing. Still, I?m not ?worried? about them.
Fashion notes: Jennifer wore a custom Brunello Cucinelli ensemble. Her body is crazy but I do feel like we?ve seen too much of her abs lately. Like? it?s fine to just wear a simple blouse, J.Lo! If I had her abs, I would probably show them off as well.
Meanwhile, this Bennifer video has been going viral they were out grabbing coffee or shopping in LA this week and Ben was very annoyed at the paparazzi trailing them. The car-door slam was, in my opinion, not about J.Lo, it was about the paps.

Here are some photos from last night?s LA premiere of Air. This the Ben Affleck-directed film about how Nike built the Air Jordan brand for Michael Jordan. It was done with MJ?s blessing, although MJ isn?t a character in the film. Viola Davis plays MJ?s mom, and Affleck has already said that Jordan was the one who dream-cast her. Ben looked very pulled-together and sharp at the premiere, and his wife Jennifer Lopez was on hand to support him.
Bennifer posed together and they posed separately they?ve both been at it long enough to know the deal. Photographers wanted all options J.Lo separately (for the fashionistas), Ben separately (for the film nerds) and Bennifer together (for the lovers). J.Lo wore Antonio Grimaldi Couture. It?s not my favorite look, but she looks fine and they look so happy together. When Ben spoke ahead of the premiere, he gave special thanks to his wife and it was really sweet.

Late last week, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez headed to Paris for what initially appeared to be their honeymoon. They were married in Las Vegas on July 16th, and then they returned to LA by Monday so they could get some work done. Then on Thursday (July 21), they turned up in Paris. Some of us thought this was their honeymoon and we would be getting another Butt Rubbing Szn. But no, they brought their kids to Paris? Jennifer brought Max and Emme, Ben brought Violet and Seraphina. I still think Emme and Seraphina seem especially tight, little BFFs.
Well, let me tell you, Ben is stressed out on his honeymoon or family vacation or whatever this is. Jennifer clearly wants to do romantic things walk in the park, take a boat ride down the Seine, go to museums but the kids are around and the paparazzi are around. And it must be so hot too. All in all, kind of a stressful bummer trip. Ben was so tired on the boat ride that he fell asleep and the Parisian paparazzi got tons of photos of it.
That beautiful floral dress Jennifer wore to the park? It?s Oscar de la Renta and it retails for $2,290. Amazingly, she paired it with TKEES flip-flops!!

Ben Affleck and Guadalupe Rodriguez have always been buds. During Bennifer 1.0, J.Lo?s mom adored Ben and they often went out gambling together. When Ben and Jen got back together in the spring of 2021, one of the first signs that this revival was the real deal was when Ben made a work trip to Las Vegas, and he brought Guadalupe with him (she ended up being in the gambling-app commercial Ben filmed in Vegas). Sources also insisted that Guadalupe was ?thrilled? that her daughter and Ben were giving it another shot, and that Ben was and is her favorite of all of J.Lo?s partners. So, funny story: Guadalupe has moved in, and she?s doing the most to ensure that the Bennifer Revival keeps happening.
Three is not a crowd when it comes to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Sources tell Star the singer?s mother, Guadalupe Rodrguez, has moved in with them!
?They love having her around,? says an insider. ?She?s always doing special little things to make their house a home.? Turns out the 76-year-old has been a big fan of Ben since Bennifer 1.0.
?Lupe always wanted J.Lo to marry him and was so sorry when they split up the first time,? says the insider, adding that those close to her suspect she prefers Ben to Jennifer?s ex, Alex Rodriguez. ?She?d love to see them get married at last.?
To that end, the former school worker has been spoiling the pair by cooking and cleaning up a storm. ?She?s making her wonderful Latin dishes like fried pork chops, rice and veggies,? adds the insider. ?The kitchen smells so good and homey.? And she?s no pushy monster-in-law type: ?She doesn?t hover when they need some alone time!?

I mean, Ben and Jen aren?t living together they?re maintaining separate residences, but obviously, they spend a lot of time at each other?s homes. They have been looking at real estate though, so maybe they will cohabitate officially soon enough. My point is that I think it?s more like Guadalupe probably lives with J.Lo, and Ben probably loves having her around and he loves visiting Jen?s house partly because of Guadalupe. Ben really was ?the one who got away? for both mother and daughter, huh? It?s sweet.

Autumnal Bennifer was stretching into Winter Bennifer and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Then Ben appeared on Howard Stern?s SiriusXM show in December and all hell broke loose. Ben?s quotes about addiction and his marriage to Jen Garner did not land well he said, in various ways, that he felt trapped in his marriage to Garner, that if he was still with Garner, he would still be drinking, and he definitely left the impression that he blamed his *marriage* for his alcoholism. When Ben tried to clarify the comments, he said it was all ?clickbait? (no, he was accurately quoted) and incidentally, he looked and sounded completely baked during that Jimmy Kimmel interview.
The point is that Ben is a chronic self-saboteur and whenever things are going too well for him, historically he begins to self-sabotage. So I was interested to see what the reaction would be from J.Lo. At first, sources claimed that J.Lo was mad about Ben?s mess, then Lopez directly denied those tabloid reports and said she was not mad at Ben at all. Over the holidays, they spent a lot of time together with their kids, and everything seems back on the Bennifer schedule:

Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance in April before going Instagram official in July for the singers birthday. A source previously told PEOPLE they are in it for the long run.

I assume this means Garner had the kids on Christmas Day and so Ben did ?Christmas? with the kids on Christmas Eve, then spent Christmas Day with J.Lo, Emme and Max. Where is Marc Anthony in all of this? Was he there too, or was he spending time with some of his other kids? Anyway, at one point, I thought that we would perhaps get a Christmas proposal from Bennifer, but I do think that Ben?s Stern interview set back the schedule a bit. Maybe a Valentine?s Day proposal? Hm.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have enjoyed a more subdued Autumnal Bennifer Romance. The Summer of Bennifer was hot and we had non-stop gossip, yacht photos, vacation photos, pap strolls and more. The autumn brought separate work schedules and stolen moments together on weekends. Still, I believe in Bennifer. I still hope Ben doesn?t ruin this for us! Now that their respective schedules are a bit lighter (Ben has wrapped on his film, but I think J.Lo is still on location), there are still plans afoot to spend the holidays together. So is a Christmas wedding in the cards? What about a New Year?s wedding? A Valentine?s wedding?! A Presidents Day wedding?!!! From Us Weekly:

We joke around about how J.Lo has been married a million times and how she marries every guy she dates, but she actually doesn?t do that anymore! She didn?t marry Alex Rodriguez because, I believe, she knows in her gut that he?s a douchebag. She didn?t marry Casper Smart because ew, why would she. But with Ben, it is different. So much unfinished business, so many years since their first romance. Would I love to see them get married? For sure. Do I think it?s going to happen in, like, January? No. I don?t. The only reason for them to marry that soon is if she was going to be his date at all of the awards shows (omg) and she wanted to promote Marry Me, which is out on February 11 (omg). So? yeah, come to think of it, MAYBE!
