Kate Middleton visited Grimsby yesterday (stay with me here) and was greeting the crowd when one lady handed her a teddy bear. A person standing next to her heard Kate almost say she was having a daughter when she thanked her.
According to the person, “The lady next to me gave her a teddy bear and I distinctly heard her say ‘Thank you, I will take that for my d….’”
Then she stopped herself. I leant over and said to her: “You were going to say daughter, weren?t you?” She said: “No, we don?t know!” I said: “Oh, I think you do” to which she replied: “We?re not telling!”
Two possibilities. One, she was really going to say “daughter,” as in, “My daughter is going to love this.” Or, two, she was really going to say “dog” as in, “My dog is going to love tearing this thing up.”
Whatever the case, it was a good idea to stop before she finished her sentence because she would have either given it away or sounded like a mean b*tch.

Getting an early start on their day, Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman showed up at LAX International Airport to catch a red eye flight this morning (March 6).
The ?Get Smart? gal and her handsome hubby looked cool and casual with funky multi-colored socks as they cleared airport security and headed off to their gate.
Meanwhile, Anne?s ex-lover Raffaello Follieri (who did jail time for 14 counts of conspiracy, money laundering, and wire fraud) is begging for a pardon from President Barack Obama so that he can return to America and do business.
An insider told press, ?He claims to be purchasing an energy company in Switzerland. He?s having a hard time getting cash. He can?t figure out why, duh.... He misses America, and when he gets enough money he wants to lobby for a presidential pardon.?

In case you needed a reminder, Halle Berry is still incredibly beautiful and ageless. These are photos from last night?s LA premiere of The Call, in which Halle plays a 911 operator who seems like the only one trying to save young women from a crazy serial killer. The film costars Morris Chestnut and Oscar-nominated actress Abigail Breslin. Halle wore this leathery ensemble which? again, seems very dated. Halle has been wearing a lot of stuff lately which seems straight from the 1990s (her heyday). With that body and that face, she could wear almost anything, but it seems like she prefers clothes that remind her of her Swordfish days. I also think she might want to try a less flesh-y shade of lipstick?
Incidentally, CB covered a new Halle interview yesterday, in which Halle referenced her continuing problems with the paparazzi, especially when they?re taking photos of her daughter. It feels like it?s been a while since we?ve had a bunch of drama from Halle. I wonder what she?s planning next? Maybe a breakup with Olivier Martinez? It would be so much fun to hear about how Olivier is a racist now. Where IS Olivier? Why didn?t he come to the premiere? Hunh. Several weeks ago, the Chicago Sun-Times had a source who claimed, ?Olivier really does not like L.A. He wants to just be in France ? except when work takes him elsewhere. Halle wants to be with him full-time too, but this whole situation has made life difficult, and has begun to add a lot of pressure on them. ? I get the sense things may not be going so well.? It?s about to get good, y?all. Stay tuned.
Abigail wore an Alice + Olivia ensemble. Doesn?t she look so grown-up? She has grown into a lovely young woman, but just to nitpick about one thing: I don?t think this shade of blonde suits her. It?s too light. She needs a darker shade of blonde, or perhaps she should just return to her natural brunette shade?

This story is confusing to me, because I thought that Demi and Ashton’s divorce was finally moving forward after Ashton served Demi with divorce papers over the holidays. The story went that he was waiting for Demi to pull the plug, since he wanted to give her that chance at dignity, which she’s of course incapable of having any semblance of. After Demi kept stalling and leaking stories about the boy toys she was dating instead of attempting for closure on her long-over marriage, Ashton finally filed for divorce. Rumor had it that Ashton’s girlfriend, Mila Kunis, convinced him to make it final.
Now we have the news that Demi has filed her own divorce papers. I don’t get it, couldn’t she just continue to negotiate with Ashton through their lawyers instead of incurring tens of thousands of additional legal fees by filing again? Maybe she figures she’ll more than recoup that with Ashton’s money. According to the NY Post, Demi has been trying to work with Ashton but he’s being a tightwad and doesn’t want to pay up, hence her filing again:
Demi Moore is finally filing divorce papers, 16 months after splitting up with Ashton Kutcher, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
An insider tells us she tired of trying to reach a confidential settlement with Kutcher, and that the couple?s divorce could go to a trial.
?Ashton made a lot of money after marrying Demi ? a lot more than she made ? but despite him becoming just as famous through her, he believes he doesn?t owe her that much,? the source said,? adding of Demi: ?She has had enough.?
Moore?s lawyers could file paperwork in Los Angeles as early as today, we hear. Kutcher filed divorce papers in December, a year after the couple split, but this would be the first time Moore responds. She?d been hoping to quietly negotiate a settlement and then file the papers once an agreement was reached.
But negotiations got bogged down, and, ?Ashton has been very difficult during the talks,? the insider said. ?You could even say he has been hostile.? Kutcher is the highest-paid actor on TV, pulling in $24 million last year for ?Two and a Half Men,? and he?s also become a savvy investor in various tech start-ups.
?After over a year of attempting to reach a settlement, Demi is definitely ready to move on,? the source said of her decision to file. ?It?s hoped lawyers for both sides can reach a settlement this spring, otherwise the divorce will go into litigation and trial.?
Kutcher?s being repped by LA celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser, while Moore?s retained powerhouse New York attorney William Beslow, who recently helped Linda Evangelista land a generous settlement in a child support battle with mogul Franois-Henri Pinault.
Since Moore, 50, announced she was ending her six-year marriage to Kutcher, now 35, in 2011, speculation has run rampant as to why they haven?t reached a settlement.
Demi was in New York on Monday night with friends. The source added, ?She is healthy and happy, and just wants to move on with her life.?

Kaiser thinks that Demi is trying to go public with the news that Ashton isn’t playing fair, by Demi’s estimation, in order to get a bigger settlement. That would make sense. Also, of course Page Six has this news. They’ve run stories in the past about how sexy Demi is and which much-younger guy is her flavor of the month. I’m not buying that Demi has been trying to reach a settlement with Ashton for “over a year.” Ashton just filed at the end of 2012. BUT if Ashton is trying to make sure Demi doesn’t get a fair portion of his earnings during their marriage, I understand on some level why she’s pushing for this. Isn’t she filthy rich in her own right though? I’m having trouble mustering up any sympathy for her, probably because she’s been trying to get the public’s sympathy for so long now.

AnotherMag has a video interview with Michelle Williams, [via E! Online] and I was surprised at how “normal” she sounds. The last time I remember hearing her, she was using that affected baby voice, probably a holdover from her My Week With Marilyn prep, and I’m glad she’s rid of it. (She didn’t sound like that during her Oscar red carpet interviews this year, but it was so distinct that I still associate it with her.) In the interview, she answers some questions that are given offscreen and she comes across very well. You still get the sense that she’s a vulnerable person, but she seems comfortable and sure of herself, and like she’s giving honest answers. She talks about her insecurities about acting, about preparing for different roles and about getting into character and not being able to stay in character because she’s a mom. It doesn’t sound like she misses it, but that it’s just a fact of life for her.
On staying in character
I think in some ways you can?t help but stay in character. It?s a shift, it?s slight, it might even be imperceptible to other people, but you feel different all day. But I think when you have a kid, you have a duty to shed that when you come back into your home life, or at least try to.
On balancing work and motherhood
I guess realizing that there is no such thing as a perfect balance. It’s not like riding a bicycle, you don’t want to just figure it out and stay on track.
I find that when I’m working, there are only two things: there’s my work and the kid. Everything else has to fall away.
On which mementos she keeps from sets
From Blue Valentine I kept my wedding ring. I actually kept it on for a while. After the shooting had stopped, I was still wearing it ? I couldn?t quite take it off ? and now I keep it above the kitchen sink where I do dishes, as a little memento.
On being insecure as an actress
Every day feels like the first day, and everyday you think ‘They’re going to fire me, I don’t know what I’m doing, I don’t know how to do this, I don’t know why I’m here, Everybody’s going to find out.’ But the comforting thing is everybody feels like that, every actor that you talk to says ‘I have no idea what’s going on…’ the feeling is a very common one… if it felt safe it wouldn’t feel exciting.
On feeling at home
I think I do feel at home on a set now. Certain sets. Most sets. There?s a few places, a few settings that I feel at home in. I feel at home in my home. I feel at home in nature. I don?t know… in some ways I feel like maybe that feeling is something I?m still looking for.

I’m wondering if this interview was conducted before or after her split with Jason Segel and if that kind of prompted her to give that quote about “everything else falling away,” as if her relationship faltered because she didn’t have room for it. Even if it was before her official split with Jason they were probably on the outs at the time.
This was promotion for her role as Glinda in Oz The Great and Powerful, which is out this weekend. You know, I could have sworn that the movie already came out and that it was a dud at the box office, but I just checked Box Office Mojo and was surprised to not find any numbers. I was confusing it with Jack The Giant Slayer, which looked better than this mess (I didn’t see Jack), and topped the box office with a weak $27.2 million over the weekend. So things may not fare much better for Oz. I mean James Franco is the lead, can you see it doing very well?
After I wrote this story, Kaiser pointed me to the covers for the Magazine. The Daily Mail explains that AnotherMag is a biannual British fashion magazine, and I get that they were going for very different styling looks here, but it’s all kind of overplayed and bad. The feather-in-braids look is potentially offensive to Native Americans. Did Michelle see that coming at all and did she push back against that kind of styling? I mean that’s on the magazine for doing that, but I wonder if she even realized it was happening and/or if she just felt like she had to go with it. The header image (above) makes her look like Scarlett Johansson. It’s kind of funny that they put her in 1950s widow styling at one point. That seems fitting.

I should make this a ?Would You Hit It?? post because Rachel Weisz is just that sexy. Rachel is promoting Oz the Great and Powerful which comes out this weekend. Industry people say it?s going to be a hit, but I have my doubts. I just don?t understand who the target audience is, besides ladies who girl-crush on Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams. Anyway, Rachel?s Esquire UK photo shoot is HOT, and her interview is predictably awesome. I love her.
Would she ever become a Bond Girl? ?I?d like to! I wouldn?t say no. I?m not a snob about entertainment.?
She doesn?t always go for mainstream roles: ?Some of the material I?m attracted to is not? it?s just not commercial. Which means it?s really f**king interesting, you know? It?s off-centre. It doesn?t fit in a genre.?
She doesn?t want to talk about her marriage to Daniel Craig: ?There are lots of people involved, including children who are getting older. And they didn?t choose to have us as parents. I genuinely just don?t think it?s very fair on them to have their parents talk about stuff.?
Career successes: ?You can be more successful if you?re more strategic. There?s a lot of big movies that I?m not interested in that I get offered. But this [Oz] was one that I really, really wanted to do. I was piqued by it.?

I just have such overwhelming love for Julie Bowen. I know many of you consider Jennifer Garner to be the patron-saint of the ?real moms,? but for me, it?s Julie Bowen. I love how blunt and honest she is. I love that she doesn?t pretend to have her life under control. More often than not, when asked about her children or her home life, Julie makes it sound like she?s struggling and failing at twenty different things every day. Which seems like a much more normal portrait of a working actress (to me at least). Anyway, Julie covers the new issue of Lucky, and she?s mostly talking about style and how the Modern Family writers are really helping her out:
Fingers crossed Julie Bowen doesn’t start wearing sneakers on the red carpet. The Modern Family actress appears on the April cover of Lucky, where she explains how her fashion sense has evolved since joining the cast of ABC’s top-rated comedy.
“It was a big evolution in style for me to grow up and say, ‘I need to take fashion seriously for my job.’ I have a stylist now, and she’s trying to get me to wear more revealing stuff. She’s Kristen Stewart’s stylist,” the Emmy winner says, referencing Tara Swennen. “I go there and see all this amazing funky stuff, and I know it’s for her. If I get K-Stew’s castoffs, that’s all right with me.”
Bowen admits that she’s never been too concerned about her appearance, and she gets flustered when magazines label her “beautiful.”
“I don’t even know what to say about that, because then, I’d have to acknowledge I was some kind of attractive ideal, and that’s just not the way I was raised,” the 43-year-old married mother of three says. “Plus, I feel like I look like the pale girl in some Flemish painting.”
The blonde star credits the Modern Family staff with giving her solid material that isn’t reliant on her looks or her comedic abilities. “Our writers are flexible enough to write to my strengths and open-minded enough to imagine Claire in a car pool and naked in a hot spring,” she said of a recent Season 4 episode. “I needed good material. I’m not like Amy Poehler, who can make anything funny.”
“People like Claire because at the end of the day, she’s a good mom,” Bowen tells Lucky of her character. “I am quite sure there are plenty of people who could play Claire. I was just in the right place at the right time.”

If you?ve been watching Modern Family since the beginning, the arc of Julie?s character Claire is very interesting. For a few seasons, the writers made her the sort-of stereotypical ?shrew? ? the overzealous, anal-retentive straight man/mom to Ty Burrell?s crazy, funny, loose dad. But the writers corrected themselves and the Claire character has much more depth these days, and they?ve really given Julie Bowen a chance to shine. She IS a gifted comedienne, even though I kind of agree with her that dozens of actresses could do the role.
As for Julie sharing a stylist with K-Stew ? how much do you love that Julie refers to her as ?K-Stew?? That?s cracking me up. But yes, Julie definitely needs some style help and maybe this stylist will be better than nothing. I hope the stylist doesn?t put her in miniskirts, Chucks and heavy eye makeup.

Here are some photos of Selena Gomez on the California desert set of her new music video. How amazing does she look in this retro, red-orange swimsuit? The whole package is stunning, really. Selena’s stylists have pulled off the look of a mature young woman instead of a child star playing dress up, and I think that the hair and makeup here finally suits a more grown-up look for her. She’s showing a tiny hint of booty too, and you can see that particular photo here.
Certainly, Justin Bieber will be crying in his Sizzurp after getting a load of these photos. I still can’t believe Selena was ever with him, you know? Kaiser and I both can’t wait for Selena to get with a really awesome guy and leave the Biebs in the dust. But for now, these outfits are enough. Compared to what diaper-laden monstrosities that Justin has been sporting lately, Selena is coming out ahead in a huge way, don’t you think?
This blue dress is another winning combination. While Biebs is showing up two hours late for his concerts, Selena is the portrait of professionalism. I do hope that her new music keeps up with this new vibe so she can make a relatively smooth transition to adult singer. That’s a much better plan than, you know, starring in Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers because Selena can do so much better than a bikini exploitation flick.
I’m not as crazy about this strange cross top or the printed bustier and matching pants below, but Selena is pulling off every one of these outfits.

In yesterday?s Duchess Kate post, I forgot to mention something that has gone uncommented-upon for a few months (mostly because yesterday was only Kate?s second ?public appearance? in 2013). Did you notice that she?s gotten a lot better about stroking her hair? She still does it, of course, because her hair (weave?) is her security blanket and she usually refuses to pull it back out of her face. But she?s gotten a lot better about fussing with it endlessly during her public appearances. A notable improvement! There, I said something nice.
Anyway, people are still dissecting Kate?s super-special visit to the town of Grimley, which St, James Palace wants you to know was definitely NOT Waity?s punishment for taking too many vacations. The biggest news? Kate DROPPED A D. In other words, Kate might have dropped a hint that she?s expecting a baby girl! Huh.
Get ready for another Queen of England? Kate Middleton dropped a major hint that she is pregnant with a baby girl during a visit to the National Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby, England on Tuesday, March 5. During the engagement, the expectant Duchess of Cambridge, 31, was given a white teddy bear by a local, Diane Burton. “Thank you, I’ll take that for my d–” Prince William’s wife replied, tellingly cutting herself off mid-sentence.
When a well-wisher asked the royal if she was about to say “daughter,” Middleton smiled and replied coyly, “We’re not telling.” Another witness, Sandra Cook, overheard the exchange and told reporters: “I said to her: ‘You were going to say daughter weren’t you?’ and she said, ‘No, we don’t know.’” Remarked Cook, 67, to the Duchess: “I said, ‘Oh, I think you do’, to which she said: ‘We’re not telling.’” Middleton, meanwhile, happily clutched the teddy bear gift.
Privately, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently learned the sex of their baby, a source confirmed to Us Weekly, “but they’ve only told their parents.”
If it’s indeed a girl, that’s big, big news for the royal couple, who celebrate their second wedding anniversary next month — and even bigger news for the United Kingdom. Prince William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II recently decreed that, should William and Kate’s firstborn be a daughter, she will be called “Princess,” and referred to as Her Royal Highness. In addition, the Succession the Crown Bill, overruling centuries of royal gender discrimination, decrees that William and Kate’s firstborn will be the heir to the throne regardless of gender.
The future British ruler is staying active before its big arrival, too. “I asked [Middleton] if [the baby] has been moving or kicking,” onlooker Bobbie Brown recalled. “She said: ‘Yes, it is. Very much so.’”

Ugh, I wasn?t expecting InStyle UK to release their cover just after Vanity Fair released their Taylor Swift cover. But here we go. Swifty is taking over all of the publications! This is the new thing with female pop stars ? Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna all seem to be on the covers of multiple magazines all at once nowadays, and Swifty is getting in on the action. As for this InStyle pictorial ? it?s very obvious. Of course she looks angelic and ethereal. That?s her branding. As for the interview? this is the same interview where Swifty said, ?If I?m gonna write songs about my exes they can write songs about me. That?s how it works. I?m not gonna complain about it. I?m not gonna sit there and say, ?I?m the only one who can write songs about this relationship?. It?s fair game.? Some additional highlights:
She worries about ending up self-centered and alone: ‘What I worry about is that I never want to end up kind of a self-centred, vain human being. My fears circle around me making the wrong choices and messing this up for myself. I don?t wanna end up being awful and intolerable. Alone. I have guy friends but the problem with having guy friends is, like, I always get linked to them and they?ll end up in a slideshow of people I?ve apparently dated on the internet. I mean, there?s all kinds of complicated things with having guys as friends. If they have a girlfriend who doesn?t like you or things like that. So I have like two or three guy friends. A select few. But I have like 20-25 really good girlfriends.’

When I was Taylor?s age, I had about a dozen girlfriends whom I adored and about a dozen dude friends I adored. When I was her age, I always found it easier to make friends with men, actually. But maybe that?s because (as I?m always accused of) I think, talk and write like a dude. Like, I can hang out with men and be a total bro ? that?s just my personality. And women always liked me because I was like hanging out with a dude too. Where was I going with this? Yeah, it?s no surprise to me that Swifty doesn?t have many dude friends, and NO, it?s not because dudes have girlfriends who are jealous of her. It?s because she?s a bunny-boiling psycho and dudes have a radar about that kind of thing. What Swifty needs are some gay boyfriends, quite honestly. I think if she had some gay boyfriends, they would definitely help take the edge off.

Stepping out to promote her new thriller, Halle Berry attended the premiere of "The Call" in Hollywood on Tuesday (March 5).
The movie follows a veteran 911 operator who receives a call from a girl who has just been abducted and soon realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.
Directed by Brad Anderson, the film also stars Abigail Breslin, Morris Chestnut, and Michael Imperioli. "The Call" hits theaters on March 15th.
Speaking of upcoming movies, next year, you can see the lovely 46-year-old actress reprise her role as Storm in the franchise addition, "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

According to people who had a close eye on Holly Madison’s vagina, she gave birth on Tuesday to a girl in Las Vegas. This will be her first with boyfriend Pasquale Rotella.
No word on where her placenta is at this moment but, not to worry, it’s not being furiously devoured. It’s most likely being rushed to whoever is turning it into pill form.

Working hard on the much-anticipated sequel, Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, and Harrison Ford filmed scenes for "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday (March 5).
The "Old School" comedian donned a three-piece red suit while his lovely costar bundled up in a black winter coat while carrying a towheaded child in her arms. Meanwhile, the "Star Wars" actor lurked nearby in a black leather jacket and gray T-shirt.
Directed by Adam McKay, the sequel follows the original news team and Ron Burgundy himself as they continue their hijinks in San Diego.
Original cast members Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner join the trio with "SNL" alum Kristen Wiig added as a newcomer. "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" hits theaters on December 20th.

Getting ready to show off their latest comedic work, Paul Rudd and Tina Fey were on hand for the New York premiere of "Admission" on Tuesday (March 5).
Looking stunning in a leather peplum top and pattern skirt, the "SNL" funny woman worked the red carpet with her handsome co-star.
Directed by Paul Weitz, the upcoming flick follows a Princeton admissions officer (Fey) who meets a college-bound alternative school kid who just might be the son she gave up years ago in a secret adoption.
Sure to bring a few good laughs, "Admission," which also stars Michael Sheen and Lily Tomlin, is set to hit theaters on March 22nd.

Announced in December, Alejandro Gonzlez Iaritu's newest project "Birdman" found its leading cast members.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts have all signed up.
The comedy follows an actor famous for having once played a popular superhero over a three day period during which he tries to launch a Broadway play. Well-known for playing Batman in the '90s, Keaton will take the lead.
As for the others, Ms. Stone will play Michael's daughter, Ms. Watts will portray one of the play's actresses, and the "Hangover" funnyman will play a Broadway producer. Stay tuned to GossipCenter as more details about "Birdman" come to light.
