Arriving back in her hometown, Hilary Duff was spotted touching down at the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday (October 13).
The ?Beauty and the Briefcase? babe looked cute and casual in a baby bump-hugging sweater, leggings, Ugg boots and some Ray Bans as she made her way through the terminal and outside to an awaiting SUV.
In career news, Duff recently opened up to MTV about the upcoming book in her trilogy called ?Devoted,? which hits book stores tomorrow (October 14).
"'Devoted' picks up basically where 'Elixir' left off, and Clea has a lot of big questions to answer and decisions to make," Hilary explained. "Clearly Sage and her got separated [he was kidnapped in 'Elixir'], and it didn?t end ideally for them, so she?s having a hard time."

As for the film itself, the comedy centers on a trio of people who undergo a 12-step treatment plan for their addition to sex and end up sparking up meaningful relationships on their route to recovery.
Eying a 2012 debut, the Stuart Blumberg flick also stars Mark Ruffalo, Josh Gad, Tim Robbins, Pink and Joely Richardson.

Here are some new photos of Gwyneth Paltrow not being the perfect mother in NYC yesterday. I mean, would a perfect mother ever LEAVE her children? I actually have no idea if Moses and Apple are in NYC with their mom, or if they stayed in London with the completely unnecessary nanny (unnecessary because their mom is so perfect!). Anyway, Goop is still filming Thanks For Sharing in New York, and although these photos are labeled ?from the set? I have no idea if Gwyneth is wearing a costume or if these are her real clothes. Either way, doesn?t Gwyneth look thin? She takes that as a compliment, but seriously? she looks really thin all of a sudden. I remember her old body had hips, and it wasn?t so? Middleton-esque. Also - today is Goop day! I sort of enjoyed the Goop-letter this week, but that?s probably because I stopped reading three paragraphs in. Goop is all about art this week!

At the beginning of the week, I saw that some major news outlets were reporting that Hilary Swank and Jean Claude Can Damme had done a bad, bad thing. They were invited to a public (televised) birthday party for a Chechen leader named Ramzan Kadyrov in Grozny. As it turns out, Kadyrov is a something of an infamous genocidal bastard, and human rights groups were really pissed off that celebrities were flown in to give the dude legitimacy. I didn?t write about it earlier because? it?s Hilary Swank. I didn?t think people would care what she did, and in her (sort of) defense, I think it?s pretty likely she was just offered a million-dollar check and a private plane to come to the event, and she had no idea who this guy was, or why she should have refused. Anyway, she?s apologizing:
Hollywood celebrity Hilary Swank said she “deeply regrets” visiting a concert held on the birthday of the Kremlin-backed Chechen leader, who is accused of torture, abductions and killings by human rights groups.
The two-time Oscar winner said that she was unaware of the disappearances, house torchings and extra-judicial killings reportedly orchestrated by Ramzan Kadyrov in the southern Russian republic.
“I deeply regret attending this event,” Swank said in a written message to The Associated Press. “If I had a full understanding of what this event was apparently intended to be, I would never have gone.”
Swank issued the message after the Human Rights Watch criticized her ? along with Belgian actor Jean Claude Van Damme and British violinist Vanessa Mae ? for attending a show that, it says, “trivializes the suffering of countless victims of human rights abuses.”
On Kadyrov’s 35th birthday on Oct. 5, his government organized a lavish concert in Chechnya’s provincial capital, Grozny, that has been restored after being flattened during two wars between Chechen separatists and Moscow since 1994.
The celebrities ? as well as dozens of Russian politicians and pop stars ? showed up to congratulate Kadyrov from a stage arranged between a gigantic mosque and a newly built business center.
During the birthday show, Swank said that she had been taken by the Chechen government’s “passion to make peace and to make something beautiful.” She claimed in her apology that her invitation to the concert made no mention of Kadyrov’s birthday.
Under Kadyrov’s leadership, Chechnya has become relatively quiet, and the insurgent violence has largely migrated to neighboring republics of the volatile Caucasus region. Kadyrov is a former separatist rebel who has boasted of killing his first Russian soldier at age 15. He went over to the federal side at the start of the second Chechen war in 1999. A string of Kadyrov’s critics and political rivals have been brutally murdered in recent years in Russia, Austria and Dubai.
Kadyrov has consistently denied involvement in any of the killings, saying the accusations are fabricated to blacken his name.

?If I had a full understanding of what this event was apparently intended to be, I would never have gone? = They gave me a lot of money to show up and I didn?t want to ask questions, and I figured no one would notice. I mean? I buy her apology, I buy that she regrets it, and she probably hates whoever talked her into it. BUT! I would like to know how much she was paid to show up at the event, and if she also ?deeply regrets? taking the money, or if she plans to return the money.

Here are some photos of Julia Roberts at last night?s premiere of Fireflies in the Garden, that movie where she plays Ryan Reynolds?s mom. They shot the film back in 2007, and it?s like Ryan wants no part of it - he didn?t show up for the junket, and now he didn?t even show up for the premiere. Haha, this film must suck.
Anyway, let?s talk about fashion first - Julia?s outfit is kind of meh, but I think it looks good on her. Lately, she?s been covering up a lot, and sometimes her style seems too matronly for a 40-something. But this is covered up and cute. Oooooh, nevermind. I just saw the sheer blouse and how it seems like Julia isn?t wearing a bra.
Yikes. No, this outfit is a train wreck. And the blazer is too big. But my least favorite thing is that Julia?s penchant for giant necklaces. It feels like she does a big necklace for every red carpet, and it?s boring. It also draws the eye to her face, which?
?It?s jacked, right? I?m not have a Claritin D hallucination? There?s Botox and lip injections happening in this mess, correct? I?ve always thought that Julia had her eyes done several years ago, but I?ve never really paid attention to anything else. In these photos, I?m really noticing how her forehead doesn?t move (plus that Botox vein). I?m also noticing how crazy her lips look. CB said that in closeups during Eat, Pray, Love, she thought Julia was getting lip injections too.
Last year, in an interview with Elle Magazine, Julia denied ever touching her face, though. She pontificated, “It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want my kids to know when I?m pissed, when I?m happy and when I?m confounded. Your face tells a story and it shouldn?t be a story about your drive to the doctor?s office.? O RLY?!?

These are photos of Christina Hendricks from two nights ago, where she was one of the big celebrity ?gets? for a dinner in honor of Maria Cristina Buccellati at the Chateau Marmont. It was basically an event in honor of jewelry, because Buccellati is an Italian jeweler who is set to open up yet another American boutique - you can read more about the event here. What I?m interested in is the fashion. I have to admit it? I like this ensemble on Christina. I?m not sure if I would like it on another woman. Tight leather skirt, and a black cardigan sweater with some kind of appliqu? It seems like something you would wear to your company?s Christmas party, not a jewelry show. And yet? it?s refreshingly beautiful and simple on Christina. Okay, so I would totally wear this outfit. The skirt is awesome, and the cardigan is cute. I love it all. Especially how much her hair has improved.
In other Christina news, she also participated in one of the weirdest pictorials I?ve ever seen, in the new issue of Harper?s Bazaar (the one with Beyonce on the cover). Bazaar got celebrities (really random celebrities) to ?recreate? iconic images from Martin Scorsese?s films. You can see the whole online slideshow here - the celebrities include Kate Bosworth (ha), Sir Ben Kingsley (seriously?), Emily Blunt (what?) and others. Christina posed with Jack Huston in this Gangs of New York-themed photo. Here it is?bizarre.
But everybody is talking about this weird one with Keanu Reeves and Chloe Moretz, channeling Robert DeNiro and Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver. It?s? off. Not the right vibe.

Anyway, last week we heard that about Blake?s man-hopping, bed-hopping, amazing dating game wherein she dumped (???) Leonardo DiCaprio (because he was getting too serious!!) and instantly moved on to Ryan. Allegedly, Blake tried to hit it with Ryan when they were working on The Green Lantern, but whatever went down, it was either nothing or nothing serious. But now RAKE is on. So on that Ryan traveled from Boston to New York just to see his new girlfriend. Seriously?
Blake Lively, 24, seems to have forgotten all about her ex-boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio, 36. As we reported earlier, Blake has been getting close to Ryan Reynolds, 35 ? and the two were spotted making out at a Boston?s South Train Station on Oct. 3.
Well, just a week after their steamy station hookup, a source says that Ryan traveled to NYC to visit Blake on the set of her hit show, Gossip Girl on Oct. 8!

For the life of me, I don?t understand why so many women are treating Ryan ?Gerbil? Reynolds like he has a dong made of magic. Maybe he?s just not my type, but even when a guy?s not my type, I can at least understand why girls like the dude. Not so with Ryan. Also - In Touch Weekly has a ?how Blake won Ryan?s heart? story, and it sounds suspiciously like a ?how Blake won Leo?s heart? story that I remember writing - basically, every dude loves Blake Lively because she knows her way around a kitchen. According to In Touch (via Jezebel), ?Blake exhibited what could only be called girlfriend behavior and went grocery shopping for Ryan, then made him meals and stocked his freezer with the things she made.? So domestic. That probably does work on dudes like Ryan. Dudes like Fassbender, however, are into a completely different kind of ?meal?.

Apparently, Lindsay thinks her new boyfriend/john Philipp Plein will be a good baby-daddy, and a source tells Now Mag: ?Lindsay wants to be a mum as soon as possible. Her mum Dina Lohan was 24 when she had Lindsay and she’s always wanted to have kids in her twenties too.? Because Dina Lohan is the bar that Linnocent has set for herself. Yikes.
