Here is Taylor Swift making the daily trip to the gym on her New York catwalk.
She’s clearly not terribly comfortable in those shorts. Look how she’s pulling on them in like half of the first round of pics. She should relax, they look great!

| How does Miranda Kerr maintain a pool & a waterfall in the California drought? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Miranda Kerr has a new feature in the September issue of Harper?s Bazaar. It?s not a fashion editorial, per se. It?s actually a decent piece of real estate p0rn, with some really fancy photos of Miranda?s Malibu property ? go here to see the photos. Miranda and Orlando Bloom used to have a homebase in New York, but post-divorce, they maintain separate homes in Malibu where it?s easier for them to share custody on a weekly basis. There are plenty of reports that Miranda?s new billionaire fianc Evan Spiegel has basically moved into her relatively modest Malibu home, rather than Miranda moving into his home or Evan buying a new home for the three of them (including Miranda?s son Flynn). Anyway, this is what I found interesting ? Miranda bragging about how Evan upgraded her Malibu property:
Kerr grows her own kale, and Flynn helps her pick strawberries, blueberries, and lemons. She installed an infrared sauna in the one-bedroom guesthouse at the bottom of the hill, which doubles as a meditation room. A small gym in the pool house is stocked with state-of-the-art Pilates equipment. To create a peaceful sanctuary at night, Kerr had an electrician wire the property specifically so she can turn off devices that emit disruptive electromagnetic radiation (as well as the lights and Wi-Fi) with a flick of a switch by her nightstand.
But the most impressive enviro upgrade was a gift from Spiegel, a machine made by Island Sky called the Skywater 300, which draws moisture from the humidity in the air and produces enough water for the entire house, including showers, drinking water, irrigation, and a waterfall that cascades into a koi pond.
“This property was a dust bowl when I bought it,” Kerr says, “and now it’s so green. Obviously I’m aware of the drought problem in California. This system really just pulls water out of the sky. It was a very thoughtful present because he knows how much I love a garden.”
[From Harper?s Bazaar]
I?ve seen demonstrations of those Skywater machines and they really are incredible. But? do they really generate enough water for the whole house AND the pool AND her waterfall/koi pond? Do you believe that? I do not. I think Miranda is playing a little fast and loose with how much water she?s using just because she wants a waterfall in the middle of a drought. I also think it?s interesting that Evan Spiegel is gifting her that kind of thing. On one side, it is a thoughtful and cool gift. On the other side, he really doesn?t like to buy jewelry for her, huh?

| Christie Brinkley & John Mellencamp split because of his 'redneck ways' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Earlier this week, People Magazine announced that John Mellencamp and Christie Brinkley were over. It was a shock for those people who totally forgot that they were a thing. Christie and John started dating last fall, allegedly having their first date in September. It was weird, at the time, because I still thought John was crusty-loving with Meg Ryan. As it turns out, John and Meg had been off-and-on for the better part of a year, and John moved on in a big way with Christie. But now they?re over too. Their reps released a joint statement:
“Both the mileage between their homes and their heavy career demands interfered with their ability to maintain the relationship. They vowed to remain best of friends.”
[From People]
Christie lives in the Hamptons, and John?s homebase is in Indiana, although I think he spends a lot of time in New York, so I did wonder if there was something more to this split other than just ?mileage.? As it turns out, there was: Christie hated John?s redneck ways. Allegedly.
Christie Brinkley had to part with John Mellencamp because she couldn?t take his hellbent political opinions and his redneck ways, sources say. The supermodel is a fixture in the fancy social circles of the Hamptons and is a Hillary Clinton supporter, while Mellencamp still lives in southern Indiana and sometimes sounds like a Donald Trump fan, though he isn?t.
?If you know John, you know he doesn?t do well at social gatherings and at tables filled with nice folks, particularly the Hamptons set,? one insider told me. ?He shoots straight from the hip. She may have liked that he?s a cowboy, but in the end that?s what drove her away.?
The chain-smoking Mellencamp is anti-war and pro-gay marriage. But in ?Peaceful World? he sings, ?People know this world is a wreck/We?re sick and tired of being politically correct.? In ?The West End? he sings, ?It sure has changed here/Since I was a kid/It?s worse now/Look what progress did.?
A source close to the couple said, ?Distance was the culprit. He doesn?t like the Hamptons. That is not his scene. So it fizzled out.?
[From Page Six]
Mellencamp was a pretty big Obama supporter actually, even performing at Obama rallies back in 2012. It wouldn?t surprise me at all if Mellencamp did say ?the wrong thing? around Christie?s fancy Hamptons friends though. I?m sure all of those snooty-snoots think Mellencamp is so peasant-y. And if John Mellencamp is a ?redneck? to those people, what do they think of literally half the country? Anyway? yeah, no surprise that a grizzled rocker from Indiana isn?t going to make it work with an Uptown Girl.

| Kendall Jenner covers the September issue of Vogue US: boring or great? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
No surprise, Kendall Jenner is the cover girl for the September issue of Vogue (US). We knew this a few months back, when we heard that Kendall had gotten a new lob for the photoshoot. Kendall has had Vogue editorials before, and Anna Wintour has definitely given the Kardashian-Jenners her seal of approval, but this is a really big deal: Kendall Jenner, one of the most well-known of the Insta-models/nepotism models is on the cover of the biggest Vogue issue of the year. And I can?t say that I?m really impressed with the results? The cover is one of the more compelling images, but she still just looks like a kid dressed up like a fancy toreador. You can see the full editorial and cover story here, and the issue is on newsstands August 23rd. Some highlights:
Kendall learned from watching her sisters: ?Obviously, my success came after my sisters?? I got to see all of their mistakes and watch out for them.?
She?s a tomboy: ?We had ATVs and go-carts, and I grew up riding them all the time, which is why I?m a good driver. It?s super-ironic to think about now, but it?s something I can thank my dad for: how much of a tomboy I was. That?s why I think the whole thing? her transition? was really hard for me, because I was like ?But you taught me everything tomboy!?? It has gotten easier. ?I knew it was going to have its rough phase,? she says. ?But it?s all supernormal now. It?s not weird at all. Sometimes I look at a picture of my dad when she was a guy, and it makes me a little sad? I get emotional. You have to get past it? you?ve got a new person to love. It?s kind of a blessing in disguise? if that?s not the wrong way to say it,” she says, and then laughs at her choice of words.
When she hears ?Kardashian? used as a pejorative: ?Oh my God, I totally get what you?re saying. People say a lot of what they think, and it?s not always positive. And we never say anything. We just take it. And then when people meet us, they?re pleasantly surprised. Because we aren?t what people think. One of the best lessons I ever learned from my sisters is not to take everything so seriously. Just leave it alone? it will pass in a week. That?s how I grew up. My sisters are so f–king strong, and they taught me and my little sister to just toughen up and not let it affect us. You know what?s real.?
Being non-judgmental about Caitlyn: ?We?re very accepting of people and being different and being who you are. We?re not judgemental. But obviously it?s strange to having your dad, who was so male, completely reverse. It is definitely a gnarly experience. But my whole life we would, like, catch her, and we would be like, What is going on here? I think we know, but do we? At one point, Kylie and I thought he was cheating on my mom, because he had makeup and nail polish. One time we found those squishy boob things. We found wigs. And then one time I actually ran into her. In this house. She had no idea. She would wake up really early just so she could dress up and move around the house and get that little kick for the morning, and then go back to being Bruce? take us to school, totally normal. So one morning I woke up at 4:00 A.M. so thirsty, came downstairs into the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of water. And as I was coming back out, my dad was coming down the stairs in, like, a wig and makeup and shoes?the full nine. And she didn?t see me. I literally froze. Please don?t turn left. Because she could either turn left or right. Thank God she turned right and? to this day!? has no idea that happened. That was the first time I had ever seen her?My mom knew. She knew since their third date.”
[From Vogue]
Vogue?s Jonathan Van Meter notes that the last part about Caitlyn came seemingly out of nowhere, that Kendall just volunteered it. I tend to think Cait?s transition is something both Jenner girls are still trying to understand, and to their credit, both Kylie and Kendall have come into the process with open minds. But I also think that all of the daughters feel like Caitlyn disrespected their mom, and that?s caused a lot of internal drama within the family.
Also: how is wet hair and a center part high-fashion now?

| Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas wish happy birthday to each other: sweet? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

When I read yesterday that Melanie Griffith had wished Antonio Banderas a happy birthday on her Instagram I thought “huh, I remembered it as him wishing her a happy birthday” and then I just attributed it to my faulty memory. It turns out that Antonio did wish Melanie a happy birthday and then she wished him one the very next day because their birthdays are just one day apart. Melanie turned 59 and Antonio turned 56.
Here’s what Antonio wrote to Melanie. It’s a picture of them together with their daughter, Stella, at her graduation last year, right around the time they finalized their divorce after 18 years of marriage. The translation is: “Happy birthday Melanie. A warm hug from Marbella.” Melanie retweeted this too.
Feliz cumpleaos Melanie. Un abrazo carioso desde Marbella. pic.twitter.com/091qR3O1rJ

| Julianne Hough covers Shape: 'Pizza is my favorite food. You can cheat' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Julianne Hough covers the September issue of Shape Magazine, I think to promote her line of athletic clothes, which she’s been papped out in seemingly once a week this entire summer. She’s in phenomenal shape with great abs and has been getting a lot of coverage for that reason particularly. In Shape, Hough talks about her approach to fitness, diet and leisure. She sounds very honest about her fitness routine and diet, which is healthy for the most part with some occasional indulgences. Hough reminds me of Kate Hudson in that way. Kate will also explain how she maintains a healthy lifestyle by putting the work in every day.
On reminding herself that strong is better than skinny:
?I love my shape because I feel strong and fit, and that makes me feel confident. When I look at pictures of myself when I was 19, my body was bangin?, but I was killing myself. I was working out two and a half hours a day and eating the bare minimum to survive. I was so miserable. I wasn?t healthy. To be honest, I looked like a kid. Now I?m embracing the fact that I?m a woman with curves.?
On discovering a routine that she loves:
?I exercise three to six times a week, but usually I do five days of hard-core training. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I do Tracy Anderson or Body by Simone or I work out with my trainer, Astrid Swan. Tuesdays and Thursdays, I do Core Power Yoga, which I love. If I?m doing something special, like shooting the SHAPE cover, or when I want to tone up quickly, I?ll also take a SoulCycle class. Saturdays, I go on a really long hike with my friends or take another yoga class, depending on how I feel. Sunday is my reboot day. I try to eat healthy and do something outside like walk my dogs. I relax, enjoy the day and get mentally and spiritually prepared for the week. It gets me excited for what?s ahead.?
On finding ways to sweat with her friends:
?I love going to classes with my girlfriends [actresses Nina Dobrev and Sarah Hyland are two of her closest]. We?ll call each other or send a group text and organize. Sometimes we sign up for Spartan races and have a blast. Last fall we took a girls? trip to Mexico. I had just finished a dancing tour with my brother, Derek, and was super motivated and working out like crazy. My friends asked me to teach a class one of the days we were on the trip, and I said, ?One day? I?ll do it every day!? So rather than drink tequila shots and get crazy, we turned it into a healthy trip. Every morning, we got up and I taught an hourlong mix of Tracy Anderson, Body by Simone, and yoga moves. Then we?d put on our swimsuits and go to the beach or the pool. Don?t get me wrong: We definitely enjoyed cocktails and chips and salsa while we were there, but after our daily workouts we always felt much better about ourselves.?
On making room for cheat days, too:
?E! News recently posted a picture of me coming out of the gym, and there were all these comments about the photo, like, ?We could have abs like this, but we love pizza too much.? I started laughing because pizza is my favorite food. I eat it a lot! I want everyone to know that I?m not Miss Perfect. You can cheat every once in a while, and that?s OK. You can still have a fit body as long as you work out regularly and eat relatively healthfully throughout your life.?
On her exercise inspiration
?If I have a really cute outfit on when I exercise, it inspires me to work harder. I want those clothes to look good on my body.?
On dressing for success:
?I started designing my athleisure line because I?m a believer in a fit lifestyle. I wanted to make clothes that are cute to work out in and that you can also go about your day in?picking up the kids, going to a meeting, getting groceries, whatever. The line makes you want to be active.?
[From Shape]
Shape also has a “behind the scenes” video and brief interview with Hough. She had some good things to say there as well about her health philosophy, which she says is “about your mind” as much as it is “about your body. When I have a clear head, that’s when I feel like I’m healthy.” She also said that she works out for her “future self” and that she wants to be healthy for the every phase of her life. It’s all quite practical and she gives decent advice for the most part.
As for her fitnesswear line, I never understood or embraced the trend of wearing your gym clothes the entire day. I prefer to shower and change after I work out, but a lot of women just dress for a workout all day and I get that this is socially acceptable in the US. (And in Australia, judging from this parody video.)
