Ivanka Trump made an ass of herself during her father?s state visit to Great Britain. First of all, she had no business being there. She had no business being included in the state dinner or the 10 Downing Street meeting. But there she was, baby-whispering and looking all kinds of ?80s busted, like the worst Diana-drag effort ever. She barely got photographed with Prince Harry, and she didn?t get a photo-op with any other royals except? Prince Andrew! LOL.
As it turns out, Ivanka figured out a way to skip off for a day in between the D-Day events in Normandy and the UK state trip. So she went to The Hague for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019. These photos are from her appearance there. What was funny is that Ivanka breezily announced it on Twitter and everyone made the same joke.
En route to The Hague! ????#GES2019

| Jennifer Lawrence: Cooke is 'just the best person I?ve ever met in my whole life' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jennifer Lawrence and her new face (???) haven?t been giving many interviews to promote X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Dark Phoenix is actually the end of this particular era in the X-Men franchise, and everyone assumes that this is J-Law?s last outing as Mystique. Which is fine with me after First Class, they had no clue what to do with the Mystique character and it felt like they were just so excited to have this Oscar-winning actress in the role that they just threw Mystique into increasingly stupid stories. Anyway. On the red carpet for the premiere, Jennifer did speak to Entertainment Tonight. She chatted about her engagement and the end of (her) Mystique.
Getting engaged to Cooke Maroney was an easy decision for Jennifer Lawrence. ETs Nischelle Turner spoke with the 28-year-old actress at the premiere of her movie, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, at TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, where she opened up about her new relationship status and why Maroney was the one.
Well, hes just the best person Ive ever met in my whole life, Lawrence said of her fiance. It was a very, very easy decision.
Lawrence walked the red carpet solo at Tuesdays premiere, celebrating what is likely her last movie for the X-Men franchise.
[Sophie Turner] absolutely did [give Mystique a good ending], she shared. Thats not a lie. Thats true. She really did. The actress has played Mystique since 2011s X-Men: First Class, and joked to ET that all that blue has made her ready to take a break from full-body makeup for a while. I dont even think Ill do aging makeup ever just nothing. Stop painting my face, except for this, she said. I was blown away, really. They did not hold back with the ending of this movie, and it was quite emotional. If you watch the series of the movies, youll see theres like, writing around my blue. The first movie I ended like, Mutant and proud! And then the second movie, I was like, I changed my mind. Its tough. Its a long time in the makeup chair.
[From ET]
Re: ?It?s a long time in the makeup chair? I heard some kind of weird rumor that Rebecca Romijn had to spend much more time in the makeup chair for Mystique, and by the time J-Law took the role, they had worked out several shortcuts, like what is basically a skintight blue bodysuit rather than makeup. But whatever, I bet it still sucks to get blue?d. Re: Cooke Maroney being an ?easy decision? I mean? sure. I want to hope for the best here. This is her first engagement, and I hope that they?ll be very happy.

| Dolly Parton: 'I leave my makeup on at night and clean my face in the morning' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Dolly Parton is actually touring now, at 73, which is my moms age. My mom is a fit 73 but shes retired. So many entertainers work late into their 70s, 80s and even 90s, which is impressive and surely contributes to longevity. Im thinking of Betty White (and imagining a protective shield around her, shes 97!), Bob Hope and George Burns. Dolly has a cute short interview with the New York Times in which she talks about her tour bus, her theme park, Dollywood, which has a new addition called Wildwood Grove, and her routines. I know about this interview thanks to Mieka at Dlisted, who points out that Dolly doesnt take off her makeup at night! That sounds like a recipe for bad skin to me, but Dolly has nice skin so whatever shes doing works for her. Heres some of what she said:
Do you have any good travel skin care tips?
I clean my face in the mornings. You never know if you?re going to wreck the bus, you never know if you?re going to be somewhere in a hotel and there?s going to be a fire. So I leave my makeup on at night and clean my face in the morning.
Do you fly a lot?
I fly when I have to. I don?t like to fly. But when I tour we make it part of the deal. I don?t like to spend tons of money, just flying here and there to say I?m flying private jets, because I?d much prefer my bus
No matter where in the world you go, you always come home and contribute here. Can you talk to me about that?
I think you should be able to be proud of where you?re from. I didn?t leave here to get away from my people. I wanted to do other things, I wanted to go see the world, but I was always proud to be a country girl.
I knew this would be a wonderful business venture, but I also knew it would really bring a lot of joy and happiness and a lot of jobs, too. That was important to me. Growing up poor, I know how important it is to make a living. And take pride in it.
[From The NY Times via Dlisted]
I really liked what she said about making an honest living, and how she wanted to create that for people in her home state with Dollywood. She also said she doesnt go on the rides there because she gets motion sickness and doesnt want to mess up her wigs. As for not taking off her makeup, I just listened to Zendayas 73 questions with Vogue and one of her main recommendations was to remove your makeup and wash your face every night no matter what. Weve seen Zendaya without makeup though, I dont think Ive ever seen Dolly without makeup. Im like Dolly, I dont feel like myself without makeup, but I always wash my face at night and just redo it in the morning. Other celebrities who dont wash their faces at night include Lady Gaga (although I bet thats changed since A Star is Born came out) and Ive heard that Loni Anderson didnt wash her face because she didnt want her ex Burt Reynolds to see her without makeup. Honestly Ive done that with guys Ive only dated a few months. I wait a few months before I let them see me without makeup. It helps me not give a sh-t if I have to dump them. (Ok Ive done this like maybe twice. Im not that hardcore.) Also, can we get the 9 to 5 remake already? What is taking so long?

| The promotion for Miley Cyrus' new EP is all over the map | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This post is a follow up to almost everything I brought up in Monday?s post about Miley Cyrus? new EP, She is Coming. First off, I mentioned that the phone number she listed on the condom cut off when called and that I thought there was a missed opportunity for Miley to promote one of her many charities, like Planned Parenthood. Fortunately, Miley was one step ahead of me and her next merchandise partnership does, in fact, serve double duty as promotion and charity. On Tuesday, Miley announced her collaboration with Marc Jacobs on a hoodie, the proceeds of which will support Planned Parenthood:

| Madonna's NYT profile is amazing: 'We are a marginalized group, women' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Madonna turned 60 years old last year. She turns 61 in a few months. I guess she didn?t have much to promote last August, so we?re getting some ?Madonna at 60? articles now, because she has a new album (Madame X). I?ve read a lot of Madonna interviews over the years, and maybe three or four years ago, there was definitely a shift. Madonna was no longer a shock-artist, but what changed is that she didn?t seem to WANT to shock us anymore. Her interviews were, at times, surprisingly substantive, as she came to grips with ageing within the music industry and daring to still make art in her late 50s and all of that. The New York Times has a lengthy new article/interview with Madonna this week, and it?s best to just set some time aside to let the piece wash over you. It?s not a straight interview, and Madonna doesn?t always give straight answers. But it?s a good read. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
When songs from Rebel Heart leaked: ?There are no words to describe how devastated I was. It took me a while to recover, and put such a bad taste in my mouth I wasn?t really interested in making music.? She added, ?I felt raped.?
She?s lonely in Portugal: ?It?s quite medieval and feels like a place where time stopped in a way, and it feels very closedThere?s a cool vibe there, but where I was living with my kids, I felt very cut off from a lot. It was FIFA and my kids? school and that?s it. I?m fighting with the plumber?. I really wanted to make friends.?
What she hopes she represented in her early days: ?A woman fearlessly expressing herself and saying, ?I?m encouraging all of you to be independent, to speak your mind, to express your sexuality freely without shame, to not allow men to objectify you, to objectify yourself? ? I don?t know. All of those things seemed like the natural way of where we should be going. And strangely, a lot of feminists criticized me for it, and I got no support from that group. They thought, Well, you can?t use your sexuality to empower yourself as a female, which I think is rubbish, because that?s part of who I am and part of me as a female and a human being, my sexuality. That?s not the only thing, that wasn?t my only weapon and that wasn?t the only thing I was talking about.?
On Harvey Weinstein: ?Harvey crossed lines and boundaries and was incredibly sexually flirtatious and forward with me when we were working together; he was married at the time, and I certainly wasn?t interestedI was aware that he did the same with a lot of other women that I knew in the business. And we were all, ?Harvey gets to do that because he?s got so much power and he?s so successful and his movies do so well and everybody wants to work with him, so you have to put up with it.? So that was it. So when it [his downfall] happened, I was really like, ?Finally.? I wasn?t cheering from the rafters because I?m never going to cheer for someone?s demise. I don?t think that?s good karma anyway. But it was good that somebody who had been abusing his power for so many years was called out and held accountable.?
Trump has a weak character, typical of alpha males: ?They?re overcompensating for how insecure they feel ? a man who is secure with himself, a human who is secure with themselves, doesn?t have to go around bullying people all the time.?
Marriage didn?t agree with her: ?I found myself as a wife, in both of my marriages, being as I think everybody is: You try to please another person, and sometimes you find you are not being who you really are. That?s the struggle, I suppose, of being in a marriage or a relationship, especially as a woman. We often think we have to play down our accomplishments or make ourselves smaller, so we don?t make other people feel intimidated or less than.?
On ageing: ?Stop thinking, just live your life and don?t be influenced by society trying to make you feel some type of way about your age or what it is you?re supposed to be doing. We are a marginalized group, women. And just because it?s hard doesn?t mean you stop fighting against it or defying it or refusing to be pigeonholed or put in a box or labeled or told you can and can?t do things. What is the truth? Your truth when you?re 18 is not going to be your truth when you?re 28 or when you?re 38. Life is not black and white. It?s gray, and one minute you?re going to feel so strongly and believe in something so strongly, and then maybe you won?t in five years.?
[From The New York Times]
I found this article to be both overwrought, overwritten and yet? this is the most interesting I?ve found Madonna in a long time. Think of how bold it is to be where she is now and just like ?marriage doesn?t agree with me? or ?stop thinking about ageing and just live? and ?objectify yourself, it?s empowering.? I used to think Madonna was a rebel without a cause, that there was nothing really behind her pop songs and ever-changing image. But the message was always there, wasn?t it? Just do whatever the fk you want to do, just like any man would. Be a boss, be a sexual being, be a nutcase, be old, be tired and be an artist, all at once, just like a 60 year old man would be.
