Monday evening, George and Amal Clooney made a rare appearance in America. You have to remember, soon after George Clooney ratfked Joe Biden in 2024, George and Amal applied for French citizenship to go with their French estate, which George bought for Amal because she?s apparently not a huge fan of his Italian summer home in Como. Their family?s French citizenship came through last December and they seem fully based out of France now. Nothing quite like ratfking a sitting Democratic president, sh-t talking the sitting vice president, then escaping the country after enabling the reelection of a fascist madman.
So why did George and Amal deign to fly back to America? George was being honored at the Chaplin Award Gala in NYC. ?I?ll only show up for awards shows? is not some bold profile in courage, George. But I guess the real story is that Amal looks fantastic. She wore a vivid purple Balenciaga minidress which is super-flattering. She loves a ?leggy? look and she?s a big fan of Balenciaga?s minidresses and mullet dresses.
Recently, in a links post, I mused about whether Amal has had some cosmetic work and/or gotten her lips done. I?m still asking! The move to France might explain things too French cosmetic surgeons are ELITE. Several well-known celebrities (Gisele, Sharon Stone) go to France when they need some subtle cosmetic work. And that?s what this looks like too Amal didn?t get some crazy facelift, but she absolutely looks refreshed and ?well-rested.? She?s gotten a better hair stylist too.

Prince William has been seething ever since he had a big-boy fast-cars-go-vroom event on the same day that Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv, Ukraine to speak at a security conference. While William cracked awkward jokes about AI to Jaguar?s F1 team, Harry was speaking about warfare, diplomacy and veterans. William was so mad, he had the Daily Mail write a how dare Harry go to Ukraine, William would have gone but he was ordered not to!! story. So, someone in William?s office possibly that ?bulletproof sunshine? crisis manager decided that William needed to wear some fatigues for a photo-op as soon as possible. Behold, photos of William at an RAF base in Wales today. You know who?s going to be pissed about this? King Charles and Camilla, who probably ordered William and Kate to not pull any needy stunts during their US state visit.
Prince William is making a sentimental stop ahead of his 15th anniversary with Kate Middleton.
On Tuesday, April 28, the Prince of Wales visited the RAF (Royal Air Force) Valley airbase as part of its 85th anniversary celebrations. The royal heir, 43, is the Royal Honorary Air Commodore of the RAF Valley base, and he spent three years stationed there while serving as a search and rescue pilot between 2010 and 2013.
Prince William, whose last visit to RAF Valley was in 2024, wore a camouflage uniform and hat for the occasion.
During the visit, William watched and inspected the 85th anniversary parade and presented the Prince of Wales award, which recognizes the best Qualified Flying Instructor. He also met with a group of women serving on the base, as well as the 202 Squadron, who provide mountain, maritime and search and rescue training.
The location holds extra-special significance for Prince William, who celebrates his 15th anniversary with Princess Kate on Wednesday, April 29.

Eh. Maybe this was on the schedule long ago, or maybe it was thrown together at the last minute. Considering it?s been two years since work-shy Willy has visited this military patronage, I?ll let you decide if he had ulterior motives here. I noticed something else interesting someone has worked with William to improve his salute. His old salute was awful, it looked half-assed and like he was embarrassed to do it. Also: he actually got up and got out of the house/lodge/castle before noon today, it?s a fking miracle. Of course, I?m assuming that he choppered to and from this RAF base.

Last Friday, Jimmy Kimmel?s late-night show aired, as usual. His opening monologue was heavily about the corruption of the Trump administration. He devoted several minutes to summarizing the situation with Ghislaine Maxwell?s pardon request and the likelihood that Donald Trump will soon grant Maxwell?s pardon. Kimmel also brought up Melania Trump?s bizarre out-of-nowhere press conference, in which Mel claimed that she barely even knew Jeffrey Epstein. Then Kimmel spoke about the White House Correspondents Dinner, which had not happened at the time of the taping of Kimmel?s show. Again, this JKL episode aired on Friday night, almost 24 hours before the WHCD on Saturday evening. Kimmel decided to do a skit where he pretended that Donald Trump wasn?t a ?trembling drama queen? and a ?snowflake? who can?t take a joke, and Kimmel acted like he was the comedian at the WHCD. The whole video is worth a watch, but I?ve cued it to the relevant part:
The ?joke? causing all of the controversy is this: ?And of course, our First Lady Melania is here, so beautiful, Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.? If you watch Kimmel?s whole opening monologue, that wasn?t even the ?worst? or most pointed Trump joke. But because Kimmel said that and 24 hours later, someone shot up the WHCD, now both Donald and Melania Trump are throwing tantrums about Jimmy Kimmel. Melania tweeted this:
Kimmel?s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn?t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.
People like Kimmel shouldn?t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.
A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.
Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC?s leadership enable Kimmel?s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

Baby Fists also posted a message on his Nazi social media, crying about how Kimmel should be fired for making a joke. I find it SAD that these horrible people don?t understand jokes or linear time or freedom of speech. I also find it pathetic that the Trumps get in their little baby fee-fees every time someone makes a joke or pointed criticism. Especially since Trump regularly says despicable things about recently deceased people and murder victims and Paul Pelosi being attacked by a hammer-wielding MAGA psycho. The Trumps are the reason why American civility is dead, so no, I don?t give a sh-t about Mel?s tantrum.

It?s been a minute since Taylor Swift stepped out in New York and didn?t care about being pap?d. That?s what happened yesterday Taylor was out and about in New York with her dad and then, later in the day on Monday, she was out with friends too. There have been so many conspiracies about Taylor?s recent undercover era too, with many fans suggesting that Taylor is deep into wedding planning and she?s trying to keep her movements quiet so her wedding doesn?t turn into a circus. I sort of believe that too, and I believe that Taylor and Travis Kelce will have their wedding before his football preseason starts in August. Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to the where and when of it all, but I suspect ?Rhode Island in June or July.?
As for these photos, Taylor spent the afternoon and evening at The Jane Hotel (for dinner) and then San Vicente West Village with Jerrod Carmichael, Jack Antonoff and Ashley Avignone. Her outfit is? fine. I actually like her sundress and the Dior purse, but I?m not sold on the shoes. I have a theory about this too I think Taylor is still sort of stuck in her Sex and the City fantasy and she thinks she can just throw together slightly random-yet-high-end looks and that makes her the New Carrie Bradshaw. Is she right?? The bag is the mini Lady Dior, which retails for $9,750 (insane). Her dress is from Staud, and it retails for $325. Her shoes are $1,195 Christian Louboutin. (Note by CB: Shutzs Olga leather sandals are a more affordable alternative at $198 and Old Navy has a Fit and Flare sleeveless midi dress thats similar to Taylors for just $25!)
The other Taylor news this week is that she?s filed trademarks on her voice and likeness, likely to protect herself and her music from all of this AI bullsh-t. Considering that Donald Trump has literally posted and amplified AI-generated images of Taylor Swift, I don?t blame her.

Charlize Theron?s new movie, Apex, came out on Netflix on Friday, April 24. Apex is about a woman who is being hunted by a strange man she encounters during a solo kayaking trip in Australia. It co-stars Taron Egerton and theres a cameo from Eric Bana. Charlize?s character is a former rock climber, so she learned how to rock climb for the movie. She and Egerton did a lot of their own stunts for the movie, too. When it comes to physically demanding roles and doing stunts, Charlize has never been afraid to work hard while setting boundaries. She?s also praised the hard work of stunt performers.
Charlize was in New York City last week for Apex?s premiere, which was held on Wednesday. She was still in NYC on Friday to make an unconventional promotional appearance for the movie. Charlize and Egerton recently did an interview while climbing an indoor rock wall, but this time, she outdid herself. Charlize scaled the rock wall of a vertical Apex billboard in the middle of Times Square. You can watch the video of Charlize making the climb here and its below.

In a dramatic marketing stunt, the actress scaled a giant rock wall below the billboard of her film Apex in Times Square on April 24. The actress was spotted wearing a white tank top, billowing white pants, and a rock climbing harness as she made her way up the wall, a crowd of shocked onlookers below. When Theron reached the top of the wall, she sat down and gazed out at Times Square below her.
In Netflixs new thriller action film, Theron plays Sasha, a climber who finds herself on the run?or rather on the climb?from a serial killer.
The actress learned how to climb for the role, taught by Beth Rodden, who scaled Yosemites infamous Meltdown surface.
Hearing her story and her expertise, I thought, this is the most badass, best climber you could be with, Theron said to Netflix of her teacher. Shes the OG.
As it turns out, Therons daughter August, 10, also joined in on the lessons, along with Roddens 10-year-old son. So he was with her, and I brought my 10 year old, whos very adventurous. Shes a bit of a daredevil, Theron told E! News at the New York City premiere of the film, where she wore a pleated collar with an open blazer.
She added, ?The two of them were amazing. In the gym, they would just go climb. Beth and I would be working on one side, and whenever I got tired, I would just look over, and the two of them were just going up these walls.?

When she got to the top, Charlize told everyone to go watch the movie so she didn?t make the climb for no reason, which made me laugh. I know she?s wearing a harness and there was probably safety netting below, but that is a wild bit of marketing. Charlize?s narration as she?s making the climb was hilarious. I love how she acknowledged just how crazy that stunt was by telling Netflix to eff off. There?s a shot in the video that looks down on her from above. She was so high up! Power to her for doing it, though. She climbed that billboard like a boss.
I also think it?s awesome that her 10-year-old daughter got into rock climbing while she was training. My 11-year-old son loves rock climbing, too. I signed him up for a week long day camp this summer. I wish that it was a hobby that we could share, but I?m terrified of heights and get nervous climbing a five-foot ladder. I am so impressed by anyone who can do those types of climbs.

My mother watched Everybody Loves Raymond when I was growing up, so I was familiar with the show even if I didn?t follow it as closely as Sabrina the Teenage Witch (which I thought was the epitome of cool as a pre-tween), or later Will & Grace. My broad impression was that the character of Ray?s wife always felt like the wet blanket, which I chalked up to a decision of the writers/producers. Patricia Heaton played the part and, quite frankly, the older I get the more I think she was damn lucky to book that job. Heaton doesn?t seem to be a wet blanket in real life, more like an electric blanket with the wires showing. Heaton is also staunchly Republican, and though she tried to be vague about whether she supported Trump in the first term, on Sunday she posted a tweet in response to the White House Correspondents? Dinner shooting that pretty much settles the question:

Trump, 79, attended the annual WHCA dinner on Saturday, April 25, for the first time. Shortly after the event, meant to celebrate freedom of the press, began, shots ran out outside the ballroom. The president, Vice President JD Vance, first lady Melania Trump and other members of the Trump administration were subsequently evacuated from the venue. A secret service member was shot during the incident, but his ballistic vest protected him. He was taken to a local hospital where he was subsequently released and reportedly sent home.
No one else was harmed during the shooting.

I wasn?t happy when [Patricia] Heaton barraged a Georgetown student with misogynistic tweets as the young woman was testifying before Congress on the importance of healthcare. I wasn?t happy when [David] Hunt, Patricia?s husband, groped a writer half his age on the sitcom he and his wife both worked on, and instead of agreeing to sexual harassment training, made the job so untenable for the writer that she quit (as did another writer in solidarity). I wasn?t happy when Heaton completely lost the plot and ranted that Disney/Pixar had ?castrated!? Buzz Lightyear by hiring Chris Evans instead of her good pal Tim Allen to voice Buzz in a completely separate origin story film, even after it was explained to her that the new movie was about a totally different character. But I didn?t go around calling her woman-hating/talentless/threat to acting. I didn?t say I wished someone would blacklist her and her husband from the industry. I went on with my life with gratitude that I was under no obligation to watch any of her shows or social media rants, but that I was free to read books, pay attention to history and politics, and then form educated opinions about what?s making the world better vs what?s making it an utter sh-tshow. Friends on the right, please try this. My life and our country will be better.

King Charles and ?Queen? Camilla arrived in Washington in the late afternoon on Monday. They were greeted by US Protocol Chief Monica Crowley at Joint Base Andrews. Charles and Camilla were quickly shuffled off somewhere to change, then they traveled to the White House for a photocall and tea with Donald and Melania Trump. The Trumps were excited to see them, and Charles kissed Melania on the cheek, but it doesn?t appear as if he kissed her hand. That?s one of Charles?s go-to moves for important women like Brigitte Macron or Queen Letizia he?s a hand-kisser. Guess he didn?t want to kiss Mel?s hand, probably because he knows where it?s been.
For the arrival at Andrews, Camilla wore a pale Pink Dior coat, which I loathe. It?s mutton dressed as lamb, and the coat is purposefully shapeless so it bulges at certain angles. For the arrival, Camilla also wore a Cartier brooch from the Royal Collection Britain?s Union Jack alongside the American flag. The brooch was given to QEII in 1957. I don?t have an ID on Camilla?s white ensemble at the White House, but I?m not crazy about that either.
Buckingham Palace continues to do too much to convince everyone that Charles alone can reset the British-American relationship and somehow talk sense to a jibbering, demented, fascist moron. People Magazine had another exclusive, alongside all of the exclusives fed to the British media, about how ?high stakes? this visit is from Charles? perspective. From Trump?s perspective, he?s just thinking about the fakakta ballroom 24-7. I guarantee that the ballroom was the major topic of conversation between heads of state.
And finally, the British royal commentators and royal reporters are attached to Charles and Camilla?s visit as part of their traveling press corps. As you can imagine, all THEY want to talk about is whether Charles should visit his son, Prince Harry, and his ginger grandkids.
