Cate Blanchett went to Germany for the Berlinale, for yet another premiere/screening event for Tar. She also took part in a discussion with Nina Hoss, the German actress who plays her partner in Tar, and they looked adorable on the red carpet. The bulk of Tar is set in Berlin, so this was some kind of homecoming for the film and for Cate. She even had to learn German for the role!
Cate?s look at the Berlinale premiere was SO GOOD. Cate hasn?t actually been giving us a huge fashion tour for the awards season, but this look is memorable and cool. I wouldn?t have thought to put Cate in ombre ruffles, but it works. This is Givenchy it looks like a modest turtleneck from the front, but the dress has an open back.
I assume Cate will fly back to LA for Sunday?s Screen Actors Guild Awards. I feel like she?s a sure thing for Best Actress at this point, but the SAGs will confirm it: if Cate wins on Sunday, I feel certain that she?ll win the Oscar. Meanwhile, people have been paying so much attention to the Best Actress race, I kind of feel like we?ve slept on the chaos in the Best Actor race. I swear to God, I will burn the place down if Austin Fking Butler wins for that cracked-out Elvis movie.

Years ago, Courteney Cox started getting work done on her face. She started with fillers and kept going until she looked other than herself. I?m saying this because Courteney is one of the few celebrities who admitted to injectables and said she regretted it. It took her a while to dissolve and lose the changes she?d made, but she reversed them and learned to accept the face age gave her. Looking back, Courteney acknowledges she took measures to look youthful that she would not do now.
Courteney Cox, 58, has no problem admitting where she went wrong.
She admitted that for a while, she struggled to accept the physical changes that accompany aging.
There was a time when you go, Oh, Im changing. Im looking older. And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years, she said.
To assuage those feelings, Cox began getting injections in her face. But rather than finding the fountain of youth via injectables, Cox says she started to look really strange.
I didnt realize that, Oh sh** Im actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now,' she said.
Growing older with the world watching, many of whom remember Cox as a 30-year-old TV star, is no easy feat. And people had plenty to say about her change in appearance.
But when those close to her began to chime in, she knew something had to change.
Id say, The day you realize what your friends were talking about. Because people would talk about me, I think. But there was a period where I went, Ive got to stop. Thats just crazy,' she said.
The scrutiny is intense,? she said, ?but I dont know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself.

I empathize with Courteney on this. I remember looking in the mirror years ago and seeing an older version of myself. My first thought was make it stop! I went with lotions and potions instead of injectables. Of course, my face matured and I look my age, but it doesn?t bother me anymore. There was a period, though, I refused to look at myself in photos because of the face looking back at me. Back in the day, I thought Courteney was one of the most beautiful faces on television. To have to deal not only with beauty changing, but the world at large discussing it, I understand why she went to the lengths she did. Thank goodness she didn?t make any permanent changes so all of it could be a past regret and not a present one.
I found Courteney?s comments about her friends talking about her face interesting. Does she mean behind her back? Or did they have some kind of injection intervention? Now that I write that, it should totally be a thing, especially in Hollywood. And I hope those same folks who talked about Court?s face took a look at their own.
One last thing: this is coming up again because Courteney will be 59 this year, so reporters are taking a Face Your Age approach to her interviews, I guess. But she had a great line about turning 60. She said, ?theres nothing wrong with being 60, I just cant believe it. Time goes so fast. We always assume someone is complaining about their age when they comment on it, but this is such a better answer. Sometimes, it?s just acknowledging the passage of time, not regretting it.

Daisy Jones and the Six is a limited series based on the popular book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, loosely based on the real shenanigans/infidelity of Fleetwood Mac. The limited series begins airing on Amazon Prime next week, and they did a huge premiere event in LA last night. This was Riley Keough?s first red carpet since her mother passed away, and so far, Riley hasn?t done many promotional interviews, although maybe that will change in the coming weeks. Riley looked great at the premiere she wore Schiaparelli paired with enormous emerald statement earrings. She happily posed with her costars, especially Sam Claflin. Also: THIS is the way to wear gloves. Send these photos to the Princess of Wales.
Reese Witherspoon, who produced the series, also wore Schiaparelli. This dress is so bad/boring. I know she didn?t want to pull focus from the stars, but still.
The other two main women in the show, Suki Waterhouse and Camila Morrone, both went very ?70s with their styling, which I love. Suki wore Stephane Rolland, an emerald green muumuu, basically, but it looks amazing on her. Camila wore a boho gown in black (I haven?t seen an ID). I?m obsessed with both of these looks, minus Suki?s bangs trauma.

Last year, Sarah Ferguson mysteriously ?purchased? a 4 million home in the Mayfair district of London. Fergie has lived with her ex-husband Prince Andrew for years, at Royal Lodge in Windsor. King Charles has always been perturbed by Fergie?s presence in Royal Lodge, but still, that?s been the Yorks? living arrangement for years, mostly because they?re always ?broke.? Too ?broke? to buy their own home, too broke to pay off all of the loans and liens on their Swiss chalet (which they mysteriously bought, even though everyone thought they were broke). Fergie?s purchase of this Mayfair home did not go unnoticed, but there has been precious little follow-up on the initial reporting. No one knows how Fergie can afford it or why she hasn?t moved into the property or what the hell any of this means. Well, here?s a minor update:
Given Sarah, Duchess of Yorks well-documented financial mishaps, it was something of a surprise that she was able to splash out on a 4 million home in London. Now the mystery over how she afforded the Belgravia property has deepened after it emerged she cannot sell it without written consent signed by her daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
Official Land Registry documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday reveal the unusual restriction was placed on the pretty mews terrace when Fergie, 63, bought it in June last year. The deeds also reveal she paid 4.25 million outright without need of a mortgage.
Last night, a top legal source told the MoS that the restriction placed on the property suggests that her daughters may have stumped up the funds. That could be one explanation, they said, adding: But it also could mean that whoever purchased the property wants to make sure that her daughters ultimately benefit from it. Usually a restriction like this one is needed to stop conmen taking advantage of vulnerable elderly relatives and selling their house from under them when they are in a care home, but I dont think that applies in this case.
A source close to the Duchess last night declined to discuss whether she had paid for the mews home herself, stating it was a private matter, however, they alluded to Fergies recent publishing success, adding: She has bought it very much as a nest egg for the girls so it does not surprise me at all that she has put that kind of provision in.

Yeah, I have more questions than answers. She paid for the home upfront, without a mortgage? She had that kind of money? I actually doubt her daughters have that kind of money, and even if they did, would they spend it on buying Fergie a home (which she?s not even using)? And I doubt that Fergie has gotten that kind of advance from her latest publishing contract too. All in all, it?s bonkers. I would really appreciate someone, anyone doing a deep dive on the Yorks? finances because every time we?re talking about money, Fergie and Andrew, it always sounds like they?re con artists knee-deep in like twelve different scams.
