As we discussed yesterday, Taylor Swift and her boyfriend (!!!) Calvin Harris had a ?date night? on Tuesday. They got pap?d in a big way outside of Taylor?s apartment, they went out to dinner and then they went back to her place. Calvin spent the night, which does sort of ruin the ?EW, BOYS!? vibe Tay-Tay was trying to rock over the past year. Still, it?s nice to see her in a somewhat stable relationship. I?m including some photos of Taylor leaving her apartment on Wednesday, presumably after a night of Scottish passion with Calvin (he left separately in the morning). Oh, and in case you?re wondering, Taylor?s date-night outfit is reasonably affordable: the skirt and crop-top are by Aqua, with the top at $48 and the skirt at $68. Of course she paired the ensemble with expensive shoes and a Prada bag though. And here are some eye-rolly details about the date:
Taylor Swift is mixing business with pleasure. The singer, who just so happens to be New York City’s ambassador for tourism, took her Scottish boyfriend Calvin Harris to dinner at L’asso on Kenmare St. and Mott St. Tuesday night, E! News can confirm. The “Bad Blood” singer, 25, and the music producer, 31, selected a corner booth in the back of the pizza place. “The place had about 15 tables, so it was very small and intimate,” a fellow patron says. An AQUA-clad Swift ordered a glass of white wine, while Harris drank water.
“They ordered a salad and then two gluten-free pizzas. Before the food came they were holding hands and they were really engaged with each other. You can tell they were totally a couple and so into one another. They laughed and were talking throughout the night,” the diner says of the stars, who met in February. “When the pizza came, Taylor served Calvin a slice of pizza on his plate then gave herself one.”
At one point, Swift took out her phone and showed it to Harris. “She took his hand towards the end and put it close to her heart,” the diner says. “It was a sincere gesture.” Harris paid the bill, and the new couple headed home around 11 p.m.
“As they were leaving, they were holding hands,” the patron tells E! News.
Since taking their romance public earlier this year, Swift and Harris have been spotted getting cozy all over the U.S., in cities like L.A., Las Vegas and Nashville. Because of their busy schedules?Swift will take her 1989 World Tour to Detroit this Saturday, while Harris will perform at Wet Republic in Las Vegas?the two must travel to see one another. As two of the biggest musicians in the world, they’re used to that kind of schedule.
“Aside from the incredible chemistry, here [is] a woman that really understood Calvin’s world and vice versa,” a source recently told E! News. “She’s funny and a good person and Calvin’s very charismatic.”
“Women throw themselves at him,” a friend of Harris’ said of the “Summer” producer. “He can never tell if they are really interested in him as a person or if the attention is just because of his fame and fortune. But when he met Taylor, it was different. For the first time in a long time here was someone who was his equal. They have a mutual respect for one another. They understand one another. They are on the same level and that’s been a good starting point for both of them.”

All of this talk about how they ?understand? each other?s schedules and how much they enjoy spending time together, all that does is convince me that when this blows up, it will be spectacularly messy. And funny, of course. But for now, I?m enjoying it. ?She took his hand towards the end and put it close to her heart?? My God. Known the world over as a successful businesswoman, Jessica Alba was invited to speak at the E-commerce press conference for Coupang in Seoul, South Korea today (May 28).
The ?Fantastic Four? actress looked lovely as she addressed the audience at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel regarding her Honest Company?s new partnership with Coupang to sell her products overseas.
Alba told Forbes that The Honest Company has 120 offerings so far, with plenty of new goodies in the development stages, including all-natural tampons. By the end of 2015, Jessica expects around $250 million in revenue and the current valuation is projected to reach $1 billion.

I think the Mother of Dragons is so pretty! I know that?s not the most popular opinion ? hating on Emilia Clarke seems to be the cool thing to do these days, but I think she does a decent job as Dany on Game of Thrones, and I find her very pretty and striking. Emilia covers the new issue of Marie Claire UK to promote not GoT, but her role as Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys. I?ve been avoiding watching the trailer but then I saw a TV ad for the movie and? nope. I?m out. I like Emilia but I don?t understand why they made this movie at all (I?ll include the trailer at the end of the post). Some highlights from MC UK:
Trolls hating on her appearance: “I remember when everything first kicked off, I Googled myself. You just do; it’s instinct. But never again. It just takes that one person who says, ‘She’s a fat bitch,’ and you’re like, ‘I’m a fat bitch!’”
Why she turned down the Ana Steele role in 50 Shades: “I really wanted to work with Sam Taylor-Johnson because she’s f–king amazing. But there is a huge amount of nudity in the film. I’ll never say ‘I’m never doing nudity,’ because I’ve already done it, but I thought I might get stuck in a pigeonhole that I would have struggled to get out of.”
She lifted weights to prepare for Terminator Genisys: “Those f–king guns are super heavy. You’re running with them a lot of the time, and I needed to keep up with/be better than the boys. I needed to know what to do to have Arnold go, ‘Very nice.” That was my goal.”
On her love life: “I kept thinking that for clarity of mind, I had to be in one place. And then I just realized that’s not how this life is going to work. It makes [dating] absolutely impossible. Who in the world thinks Emilia is fat? I don?t get the internet sometimes. I also wonder if Emilia should continue to claim that she was a major contender for Fifty Shades. I mean, I?m sure she had meetings and I?m sure she was considered, but it?s my understanding that the studio really liked Dakota Johnson very quickly after she auditioned and did a ?chemistry test? with Charlie Hunnam.

I?ve mentioned this a few times over the past few weeks, but George Clooney has been looking really, really old during the Tomorrowland promotional tour. He?s 54 years old now and during some of his appearances, he didn?t look a day under 63. While we all age and I don?t want to get age-shaming about anyone, male or female, I have been wondering why George?s appearance seemed to really decline so rapidly over the past year. What could it be, what could it be? Could it be that George?s attempt to rebrand himself as a happily married man with a lovely 17-years-younger wife has sort of blown up in his face? Or is it just that George?s back is killing him and chronic pain will age you?
In any case, George thought it would be a good idea to chat about how he?s totally fine with aging and that trying to look younger will just make you look older. Yeah, George, that goes for trying to look hip by marrying a woman 17 years younger too!
George Clooney is Hollywood?s ultimate Silver Fox, so we?d probably go into mourning if he ever decided to dye his salt-and-pepper strands. Luckily, the 54-year-old actor maintains he?s not touching his grays.
?For me, it?s never been an issue or an option,? he told BBC radio?s Jenni Murray about his famous hair during an interview promoting his new film, Tomorrowland. ?I don?t think it would make much sense. I?ve seen it happen, and particularly on men I don?t think it works very well. I think it actually makes you look older. I?m a big believer in the idea that you can?t try to look younger ? you can just try to look the best you can at the age you are.?
And although he embraces his mature mane, the actor said that aging does affect him.
?There is nothing fun [about aging],? he shared. ?I know for actresses it?s infinitely worse because of public perception based on nothing except studios not hiring them, but I think for all of us you have to come to terms with getting older and not trying to fight it. You have a couple of options, which [are]: get older or die. You have to get used to the idea that your roles in films and who you are and how you?re perceived is going to change. And that will disappoint people at times.?
We imagine the support of his successful, gorgeous and crazy-stylish 37-year-old wife, Amal Clooney, helps the star feel youthful as well.
?She?s someone I enjoy spending every minute of the day with, and I?m very proud to be around,? he gushed about the lawyer and civil rights activist. ?And watching the things she does I admire so greatly. I?ve always been involved in things other than this business, long before I was successful at it. She?s been doing it quietly and unheralded for a long period of time, and I?m very proud to be married to her.?

His grey hair is like the least offensive part of Clooney. That being said, he has dyed it before, usually for a particular role, which I guess is ?okay? in the book of Clooney. I don?t think hair dye is a big deal for men or women, and I?m saying that as a woman who started going grey in my 20s, and I?ve been dyeing my hair for years now. So my attitude on dye is: no judgment. But George is right in general ? the more people try to seem youthful, the older they look.

Is Natalie Portman giving anyone else pregnant vibes in these photos? I think it may be the print on the dress, plus the way she?s standing in some of these photos. Natalie was the keynote speaker at Harvard?s Class Day ceremony yesterday. Harvard is her alma mater (she?s a 2003 graduate), and this is the first time she?s been invited back to speak at Class Day. In case you?re wondering, this is just a fancy way of saying Natalie was the commencement speaker for the graduating class of 2015. Update: Okay, so commencement is something different, but the Class Day speech is still about the graduating class. Here?s her speech.
She comes across pretty well here. It looks like a nice graduation ceremony, right? Mine was chaos. It was unseasonably hot and humid and of course my graduation took place outside in the sunniest field on campus. I walked the wrong way off the podium too and it was SO embarrassing. Ugh. Anyway, in case you don?t feel like watching the video, here are some highlighted quotes:
Worrying about being accepted at Harvard: “I went to a public high school on Long Island. The girls I went to school with had Prada bags and flat-ironed hair. People didn’t pay much attention to the fact that I was an actress. I was known for having a backpack bigger than I was, and always having whiteout on my hands? When I got to Harvard just after the release of Star Wars: Episode 1, I feared people would assume I had gotten in just for being famous, and not worthy of the intellectual rigor here??
The challenges: “It’s easy to romanticize my time here, but I had some difficult times here. Being 19, dealing with my first heartbreak, taking birth control that’s now off the market due to its depressive side effects?.”
She says she was “woefully unprepared” for Black Swan: “The point is, if I had known my own limitations, I never would have taken the risk. And the risk led to one of my greatest personal and professional achievements?.Make use of the fact that you don’t doubt yourself too much right now because, as we get older, we get more realistic. Accept your lack of knowledge and use it as your asset.”

I know what she?s trying to say about being ?woefully unprepared? for Black Swan, like she?s using it as an example of throwing yourself into a challenge without thinking about how you could fail in a big way, but all she did was remind me of how she took credit for other dancers? work and built her Oscar campaign around the idea that she had become a prima ballerina-level dancer in less than a year. Woefully unprepared indeed.

Here are some amazing photos of Charlize Theron walking around LA earlier this week, looking badass. Can I just say? That sweater is the business. I?ve been looking for a designer ID for it, but I can?t find one. Give me a heads up if you can ID it! I like the way she?s just sort of casually carrying that Louis Vuitton purse too. My least favorite part? The booties.
Charlize is riding pretty high right now ? Mad Max: Fury Road is a critical and financial success. Charlize not only got some of the best reviews of her career, but she?s only the central part in what is being called a feminist masterpiece. The feminist love for the film and for Charlize in particular has been remarkable. There?s even a Ryan Gosling-esque ?Hey Girl? Feminist Mad Max Tumblr ? go here to see. It will be interesting to see if a sequel gets made and what the studio involvement will be and if they dilute the feminism.
So with Charlize riding high these days, I?m sure she?s getting even more scripts and offers than ever before. One of those scripts might be? Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey. Just FYI: the sourcing on this report is really sketchy and Fifty Shades Darker doesn?t even have a real script yet, because E.L. James wanted to adapt the damn thing by herself and the studio’s compromise was getting her husband to “officially” adapt it.
According to the Venture Capital Post, Charlize Theron is being considered for the part of Elena Lincoln in Fifty Shades Darker. Lincoln, who also goes by Mrs. Robinson, is Christian Grey?s past dominant partner. She also just so happens to be Grey?s business partner and will likely come between Grey and his relationship with Anastasia Steele.
Along with the possibility of Academy Award winning Charlize Theron joining the cast, both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have already agreed to reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Furthermore, according to Venture Capital Post, Cara Delevingne is rumored to be set to play Leila Williams, another of Grey?s submissive partners.
Meanwhile, the character of Jack Hyde has yet to be filled. There is some speculation that either Jai Courtney or Henry Cavill might be up for the role. Hyde is Ana?s boss at the publishing company she works for, which is also owned by Grey. In the books, Hyde has plans for Ana, and his character might very well be the main antagonist in the coming film.

Henry Cavill should NOT touch this project. Neither should Charlize, although I think she might actually consider it and she would actually be good in the role of an ice-queen dom. I don?t think much of the sourcing, as I said, and I think this sounds more like a ?let?s make up a rumor based on fans? dream-casting? situation, which is par for the course when it comes to the FSOG franchise.

Katie Holmes is promoting her Olay ambassadorship, which is a good fit for her gorgeous skin (as this new ad image shows). She’s done several interviews lately and always comes off calm and collected. There’s a running joke amongst some gossip bloggers that Katie isn’t the most interesting interview. She used her super exclusive People cover to rave about glitter and pancakes. Last week, she met with Yahoo’s Style Sessions to detail her sock obsession. After years under Tom Cruise’s thumb, I imagine she’s relieved to maintain normalcy. I get it (and still suspect she’s more interesting than she pretends to be).
Katie’s latest interviews include a talk with E! about how a Dawson’s Creek reunion wouldn’t work because the show “was of a certain time. It was pre-Internet. There was an innocence there.” She also spoke with Into the Gloss about hair and makeup. Katie admits doing her makeup in the car. I hope she doesn’t mean she applies it while driving. Nope, she had better not:
She likes low-maintenance makeup: “My schedule is pretty busy, so I’ve learned to do my makeup quickly because I prefer to sleep. I’ll wait until the very last minute to wake up and get ready in about 20 minutes. First thing, I drink about a liter of water … And in New York, I’ll actually wash my face more because I feel the city’s a dirtier place. Whereas in California, it’s very dry, so I actually drink more water and moisturize more when I’m there. I’ll do my makeup in the car sometimes. In the summertime, it?s all about putting the sunscreen on, then some mascara and maybe a light eyeshadow that’s in the same shade range as my lipstick–something really natural. Tom Ford has a good lipstick called Blush Nude … I do wear purple eyeliner instead of black. It makes my eyes look greener.”
Her hair habits have improved: “When I was a little girl–if I could have–I would have gone a year without washing my hair. I hated it, to the point where my sisters had to pay me to wash my hair. I think after experiencing that, I like to wash it every day.”
Her Met gala wig: “I put my hair in a wig for the Met gala this year, and people thought I actually cut it again, but no. Sometimes it’s tough with the internet–you’ll do something different and get dressed up just to get cut down because they don’t like your new haircut or something. But that’s probably a bigger problem. Either way, if I were to cut my hair again, I wouldn?t cut it so short that I couldn?t put it in a ponytail.”

The internet really thought Katie chopped her hair off for the Met gala, which I didn’t understand. The new ‘do looked so costume-y and fake. That was the plan, right? The part about Katie not wanting to wash her hair as a child is gross but cute. Now she washes her hair every single day. Some people (not me) think that’s an overkill move.
