The British/royalist media has been a seven-year campaign to minimize the Duchess of Sussex. I mean, their campaign is multifold and evil across the board, but one of the craziest parts is the near-constant refrain that Meghan was a total nobody before she met Prince Harry. Keep in mind, she was in her 30s, a self-made millionaire and a full-time cast member on a popular cable drama. She also took modeling gigs and additional roles in TV movies, and she was running The Tig, her popular lifestyle blog. While Meghan wasn?t a Julia Roberts-level movie star, she was a well-paid working actress on a popular show, which is a dream gig for 99% of actors. Meghan reflected on her early days and the years of rejection she got from the industry in this week?s Confessions of a Female Founder podcast. She spoke with Jamie Kern Lima about just how many people say ?no? to women. Some assorted quotes:
Meghan on auditioning for commercials: And I remember [I could not be submitted] for beauty or skincare ads because I had freckles?Theyre like, ?No, no, no, no. It?s just never gonna work because freckles arent a sign of beauty.??
Being mixed-race in the industry: Having heard how Kern Lima, 47, was repeatedly turned away by potential investors in the early days of her beauty business, Meghan spoke candidly about being about to relate as she also received rejections at the start of her acting career. ?Oh, Jamie. As youre talking about all these nos for me, its what I was doing before I was acting. Oh my gosh. Oh, please. I heard no all the time, especially because I wasnt cookie-cutter for a specific type. At the start of my auditioning career, you were either the Black girl or the White girl or the Latina girl or the like, everything was typecast. So being mixed, I could get into a lot of rooms. That meant as a numbers game, heard no even more.?
Advice from Oprah: At the beginning, I just liked making jam. All I liked to do was just make jam and preserves. And it went from, ?Okay, Im gonna share this jam with lots of friends and family,? to ?People really like it and it brings me joy. So maybe I can share it more broadly.? But even then, I was in so much fear of failure or opinion, that I wasnt thinking big enough at first?I thought, ?Ill just do small batch jam from home.? And I had to step back and look at what I was doing and saying, ?Am I playing small because I want to play small? Or am I setting in motion playing small because Im scared?? Oprah, who I know as a mentor and friend to you, same for me, she was the one that said, ?There are tons of things you could put your name on. But for you and how you like to show up for people, once you figure out how to encapsulate your essence, then youll know.'

This is why I brought up Meghan?s pre-Harry career she worked her ass off, she auditioned like crazy, she faced years and years of rejection and she finally achieved more success than the overwhelming majority of actors: a TV show with a steady paycheck, health insurance, and a role which she actually enjoyed playing. I hope she keeps talking about her early days, because I hate how those horrible people look down on her biography, her work ethic and her achievements.

Brad Pitt was filming his (stupid) Formula 1 movie for more than 18 months, no joke. You could say that the 2023 writers strike and actors strike affected the production, but you would be wrong the production kept working in Europe during the strikes, and no one said sh-t about it. I think the F1 movie finally wrapped last December, and it?s scheduled to come out in June. It was produced by Apple and it will eventually come out on AppleTV, but it?s supposed to get a wide theatrical release. Where have we heard that before? Oh right, Wolfs was also produced by Apple and also supposed to get a wide theatrical release last summer, but then Apple realized they had a big, stinking turd on their hands and they shuffled it off to streaming quickly after a one-week limited theatrical release. I kind of wonder if the same thing will happen with this F1 movie, or if Apple is in too deep on this one. Reportedly, the F1 movie cost over $300 million to make. Wonder if Variety will make a big stink about it, or if they only reserve that kind of hysterical reporting for Black directors.
I bring all of this up because I?m tired of Hollywood investing this kind of money or any kind of money in mediocre white men, if not terrible white men. Since 2016, Pitt has only made two films (I think?) which have made money or broke even. His track record sucks and his violent personal history weighs down productions and promotional tours. But Pitt has just been cast in yet another movie:
Brad Pitt and Conclave director Edward Berger will team on A24 feature The Riders. The Riders is based on Tim Winton?s novel of the same name, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1995 and follows a man who travels around Europe with his daughter looking for their wife and mother who has gone missing. David Kajganich is adapting for the screen.
Ridley Scott is producing via his Scott Free banner with Michael Pruss. Kajganich will also produce alongside Berger?s nine hours banner and Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner for Plan B Entertainment. Production will start in early 2026, shooting in multiple locations across Europe.
Berger, Kajganich and Scott Free previously worked with on AMC series The Terror. Pitt was last seen starring opposite George Clooney in the action comedy Wolfs and will next be seen in Formula One movie F1, both out via Apple.

I haven?t read the book, but I read some summaries of the book a man?s wife goes missing and he and their daughter go hunting around Europe to figure out what happened, when it becomes increasingly clear that the wife simply didn?t want to be married to this guy anymore. You also never hear the wife?s side of things, and the guy might be an unreliable narrator. Like? enough. Pitt shouldn?t have been cast.

In late February, Channing Tatum attended a pre-Oscars party with his new girlfriend, 25-year-old model Inka Williams. It was somewhat noteworthy because his ex-fiance, Zoe Kravitz, was there too. Channing and Zoe had broken up four months before his official debut with Inka, whom he reportedly met through friends. Things got quiet from the couple other than occasionally being papped while out shopping. Their relationship must be going well, though, because they are now Instagram-official. Channing turned 45 on Saturday, April 26, and Inka celebrated him with an Instagram stories collage of ?PDA-filled? pictures with a sappy birthday note.
Channing Tatum and Inka Williams have made their romance social-media official. The model shared a collage of PDA-filled photos to her Instagram Story featuring herself and the actor in honor of his 45th birthday on Saturday, April 26. Among the snaps were one of the two cuddling as Tatum planted a kiss on Williams, 25, as well as a Polaroid of the pair goofing off, photos with dogs, the actor lounging in the sun and more.
?Happy life to the handsomest, kindest, funniest, stoopidest most gorgeous human ever !!!? Williams wrote atop the post. ?Merci for making life beautiful and fun.?

Tatum, who split from his now-ex-fiance Zo Kravitz back in October 2024, first turned heads with Williams when they attended a pre-Oscars party together in Los Angeles on Feb. 28. Days after that joint appearance, a source told PEOPLE that the pair had been seeing each other romantically, noting that they met through friends.

The following month, Tatum was seen holding hands with the Australian model during a shopping trip in West Hollywood, California.
Tatum, who shares 11-year-old daughter Everly with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, began dating Kravitz in 2021 after she cast him in her directorial debut Blink Twice, which was released in 2024. Despite their split, the former couple plan to work together on an upcoming project titled Alpha Gang. Multiple outlets first reported news that Tatum and Kravitz, 36, were cast in that movie the same day PEOPLE confirmed their breakup in October.
A source told PEOPLE on March 4 that Channings doing well and [Inka] makes him happy, while also noting hes reuniting with Zo later this spring for another movie project. It shouldnt be too awkward ? they ended things on okay terms.?

First things first: Happy birthday to Channing. For his birthday, I?ll be nice and to forgo giving a side-eye to their age gap. It?s also cool that the post was for his birthday and not an attention grab to draw headlines away from something/someone else. Now that the seal has been broken, I wonder if they?ll both start sharing a lot more of one another on their respective social media pages going forward. I did a deepish dive on Inka?s Instagram page. She?s certainly very pretty. I can?t quite figure out who she looks like, but she has qualities that remind me of Maya Hawke.
The French phrases on the post made me wonder if Inka is of French-descent, so I looked it up. She was actually born in Australia and raised in Bali. In addition to modeling, she?s also an entrepreneur who owns a clothing company that was inspired by the clothing her mother used to make for her while growing up. That?s pretty cool. It?s called ?she is i? (all lowercase). The clothing is very feminine, with a lot of lacy designs. Anyway, I hope they had a nice day together and that he got to celebrate with Everly, too.

For a while now, we?ve largely opted out of discussing the daily/weekly legal issues involved with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni?s multiple lawsuits and cases. Most of Lively and Baldoni?s issues are going to be dealt with in court, but that hasn?t stopped both of them from trying to play this out in the court of public opinion. It got exhausting in a hurry, the flurry of briefings and ?exclusives? to various friendly outlets.
Now, all that being said, we will continue to follow and discuss one particular thread, which is one of the juiciest gossip stories we?ve had in a while. That thread: that Blake Lively has apparently been leveraging her friendship with Taylor Swift for some time, and it took this Baldoni situation for Taylor to realize just how thoroughly Blake has been using her. Taylor distanced herself from Blake as soon as the lawsuits blew up and Blake?s texts came out, where Blake referred to Taylor as one of her ?dragons.? Taylor and Blake haven?t been seen or photographed together since, although to be fair, Taylor has been in the wind for months after her tour ended. There were some curious gossip stories back in February that Taylor basically hit pause on her friendship with Blake, and that Taylor absolutely does not appreciate being dragged into Blake?s mess. Last week, there were more stories about how Taylor will likely be subpoenaed and deposed, and then Blake?s damage control followed that. Well, a new wrinkle: Travis Kelce has unfollowed Ryan Reynolds.
Taylor Swift?s drama with Blake Lively seems to be heating up and Travis Kelce?s riding hard for his girl, hitting unfollow on the actress hubby Ryan Reynolds IG.
When you search for Travis, his name?s nowhere to be found on Ryans IG. Not sure when Travis smashed that unfollow button, but it?s pretty fresh and for what it?s worth, Ryan?s still following him.
FYI, Blake?s still got Taylor on her list, but not Travis. As for Taylor, she?s following literally no one at all.

Page Six followed up on TMZ?s reporting, saying that they?ve exclusively learned that Kelce ?unfollowed Lively?s husband, Ryan Reynolds, on Instagram because of the ?It Ends With Us? actress?s messy legal nightmare.? Page Six?s sources also said that Taylor feels like a ?pawn? in Blake?s situation. So, yeah, I think it?s a big deal. I have believed for some time that Taylor is purposefully withholding her ?endorsement? of Blake and Blake?s lawsuits, just as I?ve believed that Blake?s team has been furiously doing damage control on Taylor?s reluctance to be seen with Blake or seen on Blake?s side. And now this Travis is getting involved and sending a message that he?s also not fking with Ryan or Blake. It?s interesting.

The Duchess of Sussex has made her first appearance on someone else?s podcast! Meghan agreed to appear on Jamie Kern Lima?s podcast. Lima is co-founder of IT Cosmetics and author of the self-help book Worthy. I didn?t even know she had a podcast, although I knew that Lima and Meghan have been friendly for several years. They?re neighbors in Montecito, and it appears that Meghan just went over to Lima?s house and recorded in Lima?s in-house pod studio. Meghan didn?t even wear makeup! It?s been a minute since I?ve seen her without makeup. There are a lot of ads within the pod video, just FYI. I also skimmed around the interview because (full disclosure) Lima?s breathy voice sort of plucks my last nerve.
Meghan actually makes news in this interview on several different subjects. Lima asked her directly if Meghan ever plans to run for office. Meghan?s response: ?No. Never. Oh, God. I mean, you could say, Never say never. No, Im not interested in that. No.? I?m glad she put that on the record, although I doubt it will stop the Mail from writing another bajillion pieces about how Meghan wants to be president/senator/whatever.
Lima also asked if Meghan would write another book (after Meghan published The Bench) and Meghan said: ?Yes, maybe, for sure. I love, right now, working on everything in this space of hospitality and home and entertaining and food and those sort of tips and something like that I think could be really fun. Of course, childrens books are great. And then, you know, I think people are often curious if Im going to write a memoir, but Ive got a lot more life to live before Im there. Wow, so no memoir planned for the moment, but she definitely seems to be previewing her own cookbook/entertaining book.
Around the 53-minute mark of the pod, Meghan talks a lot about Harry and their marriage, and how Harry is such a great partner and ?H, that man loves me so much!? She also says that she and Harry felt like they were immediately ?in the trenches? when they first began dating, so that?s why these years feel like they?re real ?honeymoon period.? Meghan calls Harry a ?fox.? Harry actually gave Lima a private letter to share with Meghan on the pod. At the 1:11-hour mark, Meghan talks about Gwyneth Paltrow and what happened behind the scenes (Gwyneth texted her, they ate pie).

They spent this past weekend at BRC?s home in Tennessee and posted several photos of their time together. Apparently, they went ATVing and took some good old fashion country glamour shots.

On Sunday, April 27, the 59-year-old actress posted several photos on her Instagram account, showing the newly public couple enjoying some time together in Tennessee, hanging out on a ranch and driving around in an ATV.
Tennessee weekend , Hurley captioned the photos, the first of which showed the Strictly Confidential star wearing jeans and a white lace shirt as 63-year-old Billy Ray ? sporting a purple plaid shirt and jeans ? cuddled up behind her.
Another photo captured the couple sitting in the ATV with a black-and-white dog next to them.
Billy Ray and Hurley debuted their romance on Instagram on Easter Sunday, April 20, with a joint post featuring a photo of the Achy Breaky Heart singer wearing bunny ears as he kissed Hurley on the cheek. Two days later, Hurley posted a video of the pair driving into the sunset in an open-window vehicle.
Earlier this week, a source spoke to PEOPLE about their budding relationship and revealed that Hurley has been visiting Billy Ray in Tennessee somewhat regularly. The Austin Powers actress spent several days visiting him in Tennessee, the Billy Ray source said of their Easter meetup, adding that Hurley was still visiting the musician by midweek.
Liz is glam, but fits in perfectly in Tennessee, too, the insider said. She spent several days visiting Billy Ray. He loves having her around. She loves his music. And he loves the attention she gives him.
The source added: They are very different, but give off a great vibe together. She?s great for him. He?s been incredibly cheerful.
The same Billy Ray source previously told PEOPLE that the new couple has known each other for years since meeting on the set of the 2022 holiday film Christmas in Paradise.
Liz is great and visited him for Easter. They?ve been seeing each other romantically for a little bit, the source said. And how lucky is he? Liz is lovely. She?s very warm, positive and the best to be around.
The source added that the pair enjoyed working together on the movie. They had a great time shooting that movie together ? it was beautiful and relaxed, and it really stuck with him, they said.

They say opposites attract, but it only works long term if both partners are willing to enter the other one?s world. Omg, I think I just figured it out. Liz isn?t in a Cowboy Era, she?s in her Hallmark Christmas Movie Era, cosplaying the city girl who falls in love with the country boy.
