Back in September, you may remember that Tara Reid posted a selfie of her face looking battered. The photo frightened some people at first because they thought something horrible had happened. Fortunately, the only tragedy was how bad the makeup job was. Tara admitted the photo was promotion for her new movie, Worthless, that deals with bullying. The film comes out in September and even while promoting her current effort, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, she took the opportunity to plug Worthless as well. Tara is really pushing the bullying angle of the film and to that end, she mentioned how she has repeatedly been bullied for her slight frame. Tara then reiterated that it’s not fair because she eats all the time and is “just a thin girl.”
AsTara Reidcontinues to find success with help fromher memorable roles in theSharknadofranchise, the actress is opening up about her experiences with bullies.
“Bullying is such a big deal these days and it’s something I very much personalized with,” Tara explained to E! News’Will Marfuggiwhile at Universal Studios Hollywood. “In my life, I’ve had a lot of bullying and I know what that feels like and how much it hurt.”
She continued, “What people don’t realize is that there’s so much kinds of bullying: Social media bullying, cyber bullying, physical bullying, mental bullying, there’s different kinds and today it’s so bad that people are committing suicide and overdosing.”
In her upcoming movie titledWorthless, Tara will tackle the subject of bullies and body shaming. In fact, she hopes the project will be a teachable moment for many moviegoers across the country.
“I think this movie could affect a lot of people and really think twice before you have something negative to bully on someone,” she shared. “One word can change someone’s life.”
And while Tara may be focused on her exciting projects, she just can’t seem to avoid the few negative comments online from certain haters. It’s one of the many reasonsWorthlesswas such an important project to do.
“I’ve definitely felt bullying in my life. With media or press or just different things in my life,” she explained. “People always say I don’t eat. I eat all the time. They call me scary skinny. You’re my friend; everyone knows I eat more than anyone. I’m just a thin girl.”
Tara continued, “The body shaming that is going on right now is to a degree that is so bad for girls and I really relate to that and I understand that so this movie meant a lot to me.”

I don?t want to detract from a discussion about bullying. Most people still associate bullying with ?shoving kids in lockers? and it’s much larger than that so on the one hand, I applaud anyone who speaks up against it. And Tara has talked about being thin-shamed before. But here’s my issues with Tara’s comments: yes, she’s always been fit but she has lost a noticeable amount of weight over the last decade. She can’t pretend she hasn’t because there’s photographic evidence that she has. So I support Tara’s right to look however she wants but I don’t support her right to rewrite history.
My other issue is that I still feel Tara and the filmmakers are being disingenuous using bullying as their platform for promotion. The way they make it sound you’d think the movie was some gut-wrenching PSA exposing the bullying epidemic. Maybe it discusses the subject in some way but unless there has been a major rewrite, this is a B-horror film that sounds like it ultimately ends up glorifying revenge violence. As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck, it?s kind of hard for me to feel sorry for Mariah Carey, but a little celebrity schadenfreude isn?t necessarily a bad thing every once in a while, right?
The 47-year-old singer?s recent shopping excursion on Beverly Hills? famed Rodeo Drive hit a snag when Mariah?s credit cards were declined. An eyewitness told RadarOnline.com that ?When it happened at Louis Vuitton she thought it was a fluke. But when it happened three more times she was embarrassed and humiliated.? She did eventually purchase the items in question, after enlisting the services of her assistant as well as her manager, Stella Bulochnikov, who reportedly ?made a total scene? (Who will bet ?Do you KNOW who I am?? was asked at least more than once?) and then paid for the merchandise in cash.
As for these alleged money woes, Radar reported that ?Mariah is blaming her manager for the cancellations, postponement and low ticket sales of her tour with Lionel Richie. She?s also had bad press and business deals. Stella keeps saying everything is going to be all right, but it?s not.? The tour with the former Commodore was postponed because Lionel suffered a knee injury, but is back on, kicking off in Oakland on July 21. I don?t know about the rest of the tour dates, but here in Atlanta, you can get tickets for this show really cheap. Add to that dwindling income (she reportedly ?only? made $6.3 million in 2014) and her seeking out a $50 million payout from former fianc James Packer and it appears things aren?t looking so good for our little butterfly. Getting her cameo cut from the movie The House probably didn?t help either.
One reason for her being a little strapped for cash may be her recent jaunt to the Bahamas with on/off beau Bryan Tanaka and her 6-year-old twinsMoroccan andMonroe. The quartet spent the 4th of July weekend swimming with nurse sharks at Compass Cay, an attraction located on a private island is in the Outer Exumas near the Exuma Cays Land And Sea Park – which I am sure isn’t cheap. Mariah posted a photo of the event, captioning the snap, ?Shark day with #dembabies … don’t worry, they’re gentle #NurseSharks.? Did she mean to say #dembabies or #demboobies, because, damn. They didn?t have a more accommodating wetsuit available?

Canadian chanteuse Cline Dion continues to transform the streets of Paris into her own personal runway with some more ?out there? fashions, courtesy of her stylist, self-described ?image architect? Law Roach. Her exploits are being documented on Vogue?s Instagram page, with the hashtag #celinetakescoture.
The 49-year-old singer showed off this sparkly number on Tuesday. The Swarovski bedazzled chainmail mini dress by Schiaparelli is paired with glittering lace up boots (which, probably no surprise to any of you who read my fashion posts could ascertain, I love). In their caption on the post, Vogue described the look as ?a little Twiggy, a little Tina Turner.? I actually like this look a lot. It?s fun and I like the throwback, 60s-era vibe.
"They see me; I don't see them," is Celine Dion's line on the great blob of paparazzi and fans that follows her everywhere. She gives them any picture they ask for, plus a great many more. Consider an appointment with at the house of Schiaparelli, where she poses for the creative director Bertrand Guyon on a window sill overlooking the Place Vendome. She wears a tiny whimsical dress of Swarovski chainmail re-embroidered with yet more crystals and high sparkly Victorian boots–a little Twiggy, a little Tina Turner. Says her dancer Pepe Munoz: "That's a rockstar!" Says Libby Hahn, who handles public relations for the house: "I am fairly certain she was a rockstar before she put on the dress." Says Celine's own longtime photographer Denise Truscello (a Canadian cinephile with her own rockstar style), thinking of the long lenses poised on the place below: "Is the dress pulled down in the back?" You know how they say the best revenge is looking good and/or massive success? Mel B has both in the wake of her very difficult split from her abusive ex, Stephen Belafonte. Mel’s divorce, court case and custody battle are raging on. The last we heard she was contesting Stephen’s request for over $18,000 a month in spousal support. She’s also fighting a defamation lawsuit brought against her by a former nanny whom she accuses of colluding with Stephen against her, although she’s achieved some minor victories, like a restraining order against Stephen to prevent him from contacting her. The court has granted Stephen supervised visits with their daughter Madison, five.
People Magazine points out that Mel is looking slim and that it’s obvious in this crazy formfitting Pink latex dress she wore to an America’s Got Talent event. She looks like a Barbie in that dress! In no way did she need to lose weight, she looked amazing before, and she still does. She may have been on the divorce diet where you lose a bit of weight without trying. I find that if something devastating happens in my life, like a major breakup with a significant other, I can’t eat. It doesn’t make me happy to lose the weight though because I have to be distraught to lose all interest in food. If it’s a typical breakup with an a-hole I realize I didn’t want in my life, I stress eat. I’m not crying into a pint of Talenti I’m just shrugging into one and saying f-k it.

Another thing I do when I’m going through a breakup is shop, and my weakness is shoes. Mel’s Pink lace up pumps with eyes, hearts and crosses are DSquared2 Fall 2017, according to FootwearNews. Given the prices on the DSquared2 website I would assume that they retail for at least a thousand. That’s way out of my price range but damn, I get it. Plus Mel may have been gifted these shoes, and if not she can write them off as a business expense.

Anyway I’m so happy to see Mel rocking that dress and doing well. She deserves good things in her life and she’s well rid of that horrible excuse for a man.
