Teaming with photographer Mario Testino, the Brazilian poser dons a cotton jacket with shorts by Ralph Lauren Collection and a pair of bikini bottoms from Heidi Klum Intimates as she works her magic.
Interestingly enough, Ms. Bundchen?s cover shot is actually a reprint from British Vogue?s March 2015 issue. Above is Jessica Alba on the cover of Forbes’s “America’s Richest Self Made Women” issue. It looks like they put two halves of her face together from separate photographs. Forbes’s profile of Alba’s Honest Company is careful to note that she’s not quite on the list of the Richest Self Made Women yet, but that she’s headed there. The Honest Company, which Alba founded in 2011, sells organic baby, cleaning and household products and is currently valued at $1 billion. Jessica’s 15% – 20% share gives her a personal net worth of around $200 million.
You can see the full list of Forbes’ 50 richest self made women here. It includes celebrities such as Oprah (#5: $3 billion), Madonna (#28, $520 million), and Kathy Ireland (#33, $420 million), with Beyonce and Judge Judy in a tie at the end of the list with a net worth of $250 million. You’ll recognize many of the other names, including fashion moguls Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenberg and Vera Wang along with tech leaders like Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook and Marissa Mayer of Yahoo! I could spend all day reading that list and thinking about these powerful women, but I digress. (I haven’t even heard of #1, Elizabeth Holmes, who is all of 31 and founded a blood testing company called Theranos. I’m going to look up her Ted talk after this.)
Alba’s story goes into how The Honest Company was founded, and it sounds like it lives up to its name. Alba saw a need for products that were eco-friendly, chemically safe and with a design that would appeal to modern moms. She wanted products that she would use for her family that didn’t exist under a single brand, so she created one. I’ll just except some of the relevant parts here and the entire article is worth a read if you’re interested.
Alba works 86 hours a week
Details and hard work. Alba laughs about how she once worked an 86-hour week as the star of James Cameron?s sci-fi TV series, Dark Angel ? the series that launched her career. Now, she says, she spends those 86 hours at a vintage teal blue desk, overseeing marketing and brand development for a company that feeds a growing demand for safe, nontoxic products, particularly among young helicopter parents who treat children ? and what goes near or inside them ? like porcelain.
Her company is valued at a billion
Safety sells. The Honest Company has experienced an absurd level of growth. In 2012, its first year selling products, it hit $10 million in revenue. By last year it was $150 million, and industry insiders are predicting over $250 million this year. The company is focused on growth over profits, boasting a current valuation to match: $1 billion.
How Alba was inspired to create safe products
[After getting hives from laundry detergent twice] Alba spent late nights on Google and Wikipedia researching the contents not just of the offending detergent but also of everything in her bathroom cabinet and under her kitchen sink. ?I was like, ?How can this be safe for babies if I?m having this type of reaction??? she says. What she found terrified her: petrochemicals, formaldehydes and flame retardants in everyday household products from floor cleaners to mattresses. Some were listed on the ingredients label plain as day, with others disguised under the catchall of ?fragrance,? which is entirely legal…
By 2011 she had turned herself into an expert on consumer products and traveled to Washington, D.C. to lobby for updated legislation. She was ? and is ? particularly focused on reforming the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act, which has allowed more than 80,000 chemicals to remain in household products untested. Only five are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency; just 11 are banned from consumer goods. (In Europe that figure is more than 1,300.) ?Enough people have to get sick or die from a certain ingredient or chemical before it?s pulled from the marketplace,? says Alba.

I’m chemically sensitive and have to be careful of perfumes and dyes in my products, so I appreciate when anyone brings awareness to this issue. Certain perfumes make me dizzy and my skin is very sensitive. It goes beyond that though, to long term health concerns. I heard a radio show recently on NPR about how the EPA barely controls any of the chemicals in consumer products, and how the conversation around chemicals is almost entirely controlled by “scientists” hired by powerful chemical conglomerates. It was sobering and this is what Alba is lobbying to change. Everyone should have the right to safe products, but much of the information required to make purchasing decisions isn’t known or is deliberately covered up. Good for Alba for creating products that families can feel good about.

I forgot that Kristen Stewart made this movie! The NSFW Red Band trailer was released for American Ultra, otherwise known as the stoner action movie. Think Dazed & Confused meets The Bourne Identity. Jesse Eisenberg plays the stoner assassin and Kristen Stewart plays his girlfriend and the damsel in distress. It?s supposed to be a stoner comedy with badass action sequences. It could have ended up failing hard, but I kind of think the trailer makes it look pretty enjoyable?

Kristen barely annoys me here. Jesse actually seems really intriguing. I?ve always worried that he?s somewhat one-note, like he can do socially awkward nerds and not much else, so it?s nice to see him doing such a physical part and having such funny line readings. There?s a problem with the casual use of the n-word (by John Leguizamo?s drug dealer character), but then I laughed when he said ?Nurr?? like Madea. So, I don?t know. Will this be a hit? I would see it for Jesse more than K-Stew.

I?ve been worried about Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson. If they ever break up, I?m going to burn this place to the ground! And for a few months, it seemed like they were having problems. They just weren?t seen out together very often. They didn?t go to Coachella this year, which they?ve always attended together in the past. They did go to the Met Gala together, their first red carpet in months, but then Diane flew off by herself to the South of France, where she got very, very flirty with her costar (and hottie) Matthias Schoenaerts at the Cannes Film Festival. Joshua didn?t even fly into Cannes to walk the red carpet for her big premiere. And Diane flew solo to Joel Silver?s annual Memorial Day party earlier this week too! What gives?
So, was there trouble afoot? And is it all over now? These are photos of Joshua and Diane in LA yesterday. They look? okay? Their body language seems decent-ish, like they?re not mad at each other but I wish they were holding hands. I mean, they?ve been together for nine years. They?ve outlasted many, many couples. Are they just that old married couple (despite the fact that they are famously unmarried) that doesn?t feel the need to do everything together?
Sigh? I hope they?re fine. I hope it was all just a work schedule thing and they?ll be together forever.

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have been dating for about five years. That seems like forever for a guy who’s known for messing with fragile lady minds and zeroing in on vulnerable women. Given Demi’s history with self harm and an eating disorder, Wilmer could have been a very bad boyfriend choice. They did break up a few times but appeared surprisingly solid for the past few years. He gave her a Tiffany ring in 2013. All along, they’ve stayed very private as a couple.
Things have changed very fast. Demi and Wilmer are making public, smooshy love declarations on Twitter. I expect an engagement announcement soon.

You guys called it. You said that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner would do a pap stroll to counter the stories that they’re divorcing and you were right. These photos are from yesterday. Multiple outlets had them, so it’s somewhat unlikely that they just happened to be caught out. (To be fair, there’s always a lot of paparazzi interest in them and it’s even more so now.) So does this mean that they aren’t divorcing or just that they want to keep up the facade for now?
Earlier this week, Radar claimed that Ben Affleck was planning to announce a divorce from Jennifer Garner just before their tenth anniversary, which is June 29th. That would put Affleck and Garner under the mythical “10 year rule” in California. (There are a lot of misconceptions about the “10 year rule,” and the legal interpretation of it may vary. It does not result in indefinite spousal support payments, however there are changes in law that may result in a financial hit to the wealthier party. Here is an article which explains it the simplest.)
Radar’s evidence included details that these two had seemingly been apart for over a month, that Affleck has been gambling in Vegas, and that he was spotted in Nova Scotia, Canada, last month around the time of Garner’s birthday. In a follow up story, Radar claims that Affleck wasn’t even with the mother of his children on Mother’s Day and that he was with his mom and brother instead. If this is true, it sounds very bad indeed:
According to an insider, Affleck, 42, opted to spend the holiday with his brother, Casey, and his own mom. Meanwhile, Garner?s mother and father flew to L.A. From West Virginia to spend the day with her and her kids.

The more Radar pushes this “Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are over” story, the more persuaded I get. Plus, Lainey has a new blind item that pretty much cinches it for me. If you didn’t know, Lainey of LaineyGossip is a Canadian entertainment reporter and (unlike other outlets) her blind items often pan out. So when Lainey has Canadian-centric gossip, it’s even more convincing. She doesn’t name the celebrity in this item, but many people think this is about Ben:
You remember when he turned up in a small, out-of-the-way-of-Hollywood town not too long ago, for no apparent reason? He was trying to go undercover. Because it turns out, he was there with a woman?a very attractive woman? who is not his wife. They were seen holding hands at the hotel. But can you ever really hide? No. Not even out of the country. Not even by the sea. He ended up getting busted by fans and the local media got a hold of it. And the thing is, he told his wife that he was somewhere else. He and his companion have been having an affair for some time…
Of course it?s not the first time. He thought it wouldn?t get back to her that time in Oklahoma and that didn?t work out for him either. His wife forgave him then, as she always does, patiently supporting him as he works through his issues and compulsions. But he can?t help himself. When things are going well, he will always find a way to f-ck himself up.

Bedhead pointed out to me that Ben filmed To The Wonder in Oklahoma. Ben was in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia in mid April. Cheticamp is right on the Atlantic Ocean.
Gawker has some analysis as to when Ben and Jen could announce a split. They’re basing it on Radar’s reporting so this all hinges on whether Radar is correct.
I’m still hoping that this isn’t true; that the tabloids are hyping circumstantial evidence to get us through a slow gossip cycle. Maybe there’s a grain of truth to it but it doesn’t mean that these two have to be over at this point, right? Ben does self sabotage, but Jen puts up with it and I like to think that he’s A) not cheating and B) that they’ll work it out. These photos of their family outing suggest B) at least.
Here’s a photo of Affleck in character as Batman on the Suicide Squad set in Toronto this week. (It’s possible some of these shots are of a stunt double, it’s hard to tell.) Garner was said to be filming Nine Lives in Montreal, which is a five hour drive or short plane ride away. She’s obviously back in LA at this point though, for whatever reason.
