Last week, we learned that Kelly Clarkson has to pay her ex/estranged husband $200K a month in spousal and child support. This is almost half of what he originally asked for but it still seems like way too much, especially given that Brandon Blackstock and his father allegedly defrauded her, mismanaged her and cost her millions of dollars. Not to mention the fact that Kelly was the one awarded primary physical custody of their kids too! Now we?re learning, via a People Magazine exclusive, that this new financial arrangement is temporary. This is apparently just what Kelly has to pay Blackstock until their divorce is completely finalized:
Kelly Clarksons requirement to pay her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock nearly $200,000 per month in spousal and child support is not set in stone. The order handed down by a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday that sees the star, 39, giving Blackstock, 44, $150,000 per month in spousal support and $45,601 per month in child support is strictly temporary support until a final settlement is worked out, a source tells PEOPLE.
Through the arrangement, Blackstock, a music manager, will receive $195,601 in total from Clarkson each month, or roughly $2.4 million per year. The order also requires the singer to pay $1.25 million towards her estranged husbands attorney fees and costs for their ongoing divorce.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Blackstock had been aiming for more than double the amount in support, requesting that Clarkson pay him $436,000 per month ($301,000 in spousal support and $135,000 in child support).
Clarkson is being represented by celebrity attorney Laura Wasser, who recently launched Its Over Easy. The service helps streamline the divorce process for individuals who might not be able to obtain her services otherwise.
[From People]
I completely blanked on the fact that Laura Wasser is her lawyer. This is not one of the best examples of Wasser?s work, although to be fair, it seems like Wasser has been phoning it in for her clients for some time. Wasser also represented Johnny Depp in his divorce (ugh) and her work was so sh-tty in Angelina Jolie?s divorce case, Jolie fired her and went with out-of-town legal representation because she was so wary of Wasser?s connections to Pitt?s lawyers and TMZ. My point? I wonder if Kelly Clarkson is being screwed over by her ex-husband AND her own lawyer. Anyway, we?ll see what the final divorce settlement is. And I hope Kelly?s other lawyers the ones suing the Blackstocks as managers are a lot better at their jobs.

| Reese Witherspoon sold her media company Hello Sunshine for $900 million | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Reese Witherspoon has had a few production companies over the course of her career, but Hello Sunshine has been the most successful, and that is her current production/media company. About six years ago, Reese had a come-to-Jesus moment where she realized that if she wanted to get good parts and see actresses of her generation get good parts then she would need to find the projects herself and start at the beginning, putting everything together herself. Hello Sunshine has done just that, putting together projects like Gone Girl, Wild, Big Little Lies, The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere. Reese also used the Hello Sunshine media umbrella to launch a book club, a podcast, a speaking tour, and an interview show. And now after all of that successful building, Reese is selling. She?s selling Hello Sunshine for a reported $900 million!!
Reese Witherspoon?s media company, Hello Sunshine (Little Fires Everywhere), has been sold to a firm backed by private-equity giant Blackstone Group. Terms are not disclosed. According to the WSJ, which first reported the deal, it values the company at about $900 million. The new media venture Blackstone is backing will be run by former Walt Disney Co. executives Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, with Hello Sunshine as its first acquisition. Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden will join the board of the as-yet-unnamed company and will continue to operate Hello Sunshine.
According to the WSJ, Blackstone is spending more than $500 million in cash to purchase shares from existing Hello Sunshine investors, including AT&T and Emerson Collective. Witherspoon and some Hello Sunshine executives and investors will roll over the remaining equity into ownership stakes in the newly formed company.
Witherspoon?s star power and her ability to turn books into successful TV series was a main draw for buyers, sources said. The five-year old company does not have a library; it is a producer on most of the Hello Sunshine series but only has some ownership in Little Fires Everywhere.
There is a pipeline of upcoming shows, and Hello Sunshine also operates the influential Reese?s Book Club, which helps establish titles that the company later adapts for the screen.
Hello Sunshine?s eye-popping $900 million sale price illustrates the arms race for content in the streaming age and the value of a star-driven venture, with Witherspoon also a force in the consumer product market with her clothing line. For comparison, Amazon is the process of acquiring MGM, a studio with a storied, century-long history and extensive library, for $8.45 billion. The Hello Sunshine deal also will give other independent companies that have been shopping themselves, including LeBron James? SpringHill, A24 and Imagine, a lift in their search for buyers.
?I started this company to change the way all women are seen in media,? Witherspoon said. ?Today, we?re taking a huge step forward by partnering with Blackstone, which will enable us to tell even more entertaining, impactful and illuminating stories about women?s lives globally.?
[From Deadline]
It?s entirely good news for Reese she still has her vision intact, she still has power within the company she created and now she has the money, support and backing to do even more. I would even argue that what Blackstone is really buying is Reese?s eye for which projects will make good film or television adaptations, as well as Reese?s ability to put those projects together successfully. Reese has really consolidated her power in recent years, but this isn?t just a #GetMoneyBitch moment. She is, I believe, fully committed to bringing more diverse stories to film and television, and to hiring more diverse talent behind the camera too.

| Matt Damon: 'To be as clear as I can be, I stand with the LGBTQ+ community' | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Honestly, Matt Damon is such a dumbass. We need to get out of this headspace where we?re like ?oh, Matt is different, he went to Harvard, his mom is an educator, he can?t be this dumb.? No, he is. He is very dumb. Matt is currently promoting Stillwater (The Tears of an Overseas MAGA) and over the weekend, the Times published an exclusive interview with him. In the interview, he was trying to explain how our standards change over time and how the f-word, the homophobic slur, was ?commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application,? and that he ?made a joke, months ago, and got a treatise from my daughter. She left the table. I said, ?Come on, that?s a joke! I say it in the movie Stuck on You!? She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous. I said, ?I retire the f-slur!? I understood.? Now Matt Damon is saying that Matt Damon cannot be trusted to tell a story about how he used a homophobic slur. He made a statement (not an apology) to THR:
?During a recent interview, I recalled a discussion I had with my daughter where I attempted to contextualize for her the progress that has been made ? though by no means completed ? since I was growing up in Boston and, as a child, heard the word ?f*g? used on the street before I knew what it even referred to. I explained that that word was used constantly and casually and was even a line of dialogue in a movie of mine as recently as 2003; she in turn expressed incredulity that there could ever have been a time where that word was used unthinkingly. To my admiration and pride, she was extremely articulate about the extent to which that word would have been painful to someone in the LGBTQ+ community regardless of how culturally normalized it was. I not only agreed with her but thrilled at her passion, values and desire for social justice,? Damon said in a statement provided to THR.
He added, ?I have never called anyone ?f****t? in my personal life and this conversation with my daughter was not a personal awakening. I do not use slurs of any kind. I have learned that eradicating prejudice requires active movement toward justice rather than finding passive comfort in imagining myself ?one of the good guys.? And given that open hostility against the LGBTQ+ community is still not uncommon, I understand why my statement led many to assume the worst. To be as clear as I can be, I stand with the LGBTQ+ community.?
[From THR]
I want to know which of Matt Damon?s gay friends and managers/publicists/agents immediately called him and yelled at him. I want to know their names!! Because they deserve a drink and a nap. I can?t even imagine how many people called him and yelled at his dumb ass. And notice how everything about the story has changed too Matt told the Times that he said the word in a ?joke? and that his daughter was appalled that he said it so casually. The new version is that Matt was speaking to his daughters about the history of homophobia. And now he claims that he?s never used the word in his personal life! Because we know he?s used it in his professional life (and his personal life).

| Taika Waititi & Rita Ora made their red-carpet couple debut at an LA premiere | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Red carpets are back, people. Premiere events are back! Last night, The Suicide Squad premiered in LA and I don?t see anyone with a mask. I would hope that everyone has been vaccinated, and that people had to show their vaccination cards to walk the carpet. Ordinarily, I would have made Margot Robbie the ?star? of this post since she is the star of the film. But Taika Waititi and Rita Ora made their ?red carpet couple debut? at this premiere, so now they?re getting all of the attention. Taika and Rita got together several months ago in Australia. Taika was hard at work on Thor: Love and Thunder and Rita was in town for The Voice: Australia. Love blossomed as most people were just stuck in Australia indefinitely because of the pandemic. And so here we are: Taika and Rita, love and thunder. I hate her outfit! He looks nice though.
