| Kaley Cuoco in Romona Keveza at the SAGs: annoying & poorly styled? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Everything about Kaley Cuoco was like nails on a chalkboard at the SAGs last night. Has she always been this annoying? Real question. Kaley wore this Romona Keveza ?illusion? gown, with the illusion that we?re seeing more skin, I guess. I don?t have a wild hate-on for the dress, I just think it?s boring. I do have a wild hate-on for the styling though. Topknots were the trend at the SAGs and Kaley had the worst one. It was pulled too tight, giving her a Croydon facelift. Also: CB was aghast about Kaley?s terrible brow situation.
Ariel Winter also wore Romona Keveza. I feel like this would have been better on someone a bit older (Ariel just turned 18 a few days ago), but I?m giving her a pass. It?s simple and flattering. She?s probably still getting used to styling her new figure too, following her well-publicized breast reduction last year ? I suspect she chose this dress because she?s never had the option (before now) of going strapless.
Sarah Hyland in J. Mendel. This dress looked a lot cuter on the E! live show, it?s pretty flat and blah in these photos. Hyland?s the kind of person who can elevate a boring look with her personality ? she?s very bubbly and sweet and she was charming on the E! carpet. She even created a new word: Joleg! The Jolie Leg = Joleg.

| Sarah Silverman in Vivienne Westwood at the SAGs: washes her out or glam? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Sarah Silverman was one of the surprise nominations for a SAG, for her work in the film I Smile Back as a mom suffering from depression and addiction. Lead Actress in a Drama went to Brie Larson, for Room. Sarah seemed pleased to be nominated and also to present. During her red carpet interview with Giuliana Rancic, Sarah reference the fact that she was caught with a pot vaporizer at the SAGs last year when Giuliana rifled through her purse. She joked last night that she didn’t bring a purse because “Last time I showed you my purse… everyone noticed I had weed. I won that Emmy that year…and I was totally overshadowed.”

Silverman put a mustache on while she was presenting, which I didn’t get at all, but People explains that she did it in 2009 at the Emmys too.
In terms of her gown, it’s got that precarious bustline that Westwood is known for and it fits her like a glove but I would have liked to see this dress in a darker color. That light tan color does nothing for her.
Speaking of doing nothing for her, here’s Amanda Peet in a white Narciso Rodriguez gown that just looks like a slip. Amanda was there supporting her husband, Game of Thrones producer David Benioff. She’s wearing less makeup than I wear to take my kid to school. Glam it up, it’s an awards ceremony!
Giuliana Rancic was in a Gauri and Nainika black ballgown with black leaf applique accented by green and white. Do you know the expression “the dress is wearing her?”

| January Jones in Schiaparelli at the SAGs: does her stylist hate her? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did January Jones lose her style mojo? Because this is the second awards show in a row where she has looked absolutely terrible. January wore this Schiaparelli couture gown which? I mean, come on. It?s dated ? it looks like a (bad) gown from the 1950s. It?s bridesmaid-y, also from a 1950s wedding. It?s poorly designed and unflattering. And so now I?m wondering? does January?s stylist hate her?
Kiernan Shipka in Erdem. I love this and I love her. Such a cutie.
Jessica Pare in Kaufman Franco. Why does this annoy me so much? I think it?s because Pare annoys me as an actress, and I?m annoyed that she came to the SAGs when she was barely in the last season of Mad Men, and she?s trying to wring the last drops of attention out of this gig. Also, the dress is taffeta, right? SO BAD.
Julie Bowen in Kaufman Franco. Julie either doesn?t care about the red carpet or she does care and has zero clue about how to style herself. This look is more boring than bad. Zzzz?
Much like Kate Winslet, Sofia Vergara just sticks to same two or three silhouettes and I?m kind of fine with that. She knows what looks good on her body and she?s not adventurous. It happens. So, for Sofia?s ?style rut? fashion, I?m okay with this hot-pink Vera Wang. It?s a good version of something we?ve seen on Sofia many times before. I even like the pop of that statement necklace.

| Nicole Kidman in colorful Gucci at the SAGs: lovely, fun or just awful? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I had a moment while watching the SAG red carpet show where I thought ?Oh, maybe Nicole Kidman looks sort of normal?? But no, it?s pretty much the same as it?s been for years. Nicole wore this colorful Gucci gown to the SAGs because she was ? no joke ? nominated for that terrible Grace of Monaco movie. Even Kidman seemed to know it was a joke too, at least I hope she did. So, let me say some nice stuff about her? while she?s still Botoxing and filler-ing, it doesn?t look as intense as it once was. And I feel like Nicole was trying to have fun with this Gucci and that works in her favor ? she seems lighter and happier. Something mean: this dress is kind of fug.
Queen Latifah won a SAG for her role in Bess. She?s always so lovely, and while I don?t think her Michael Costello gown is really notable, she looks pretty and pulled-together. She should buy this gown and re-wear it, actually. It?s really flattering.
Priyanka Chopra in Monique Lhuillier. Was it smart to match her lipstick exactly to the shade of Pink in her bridesmaid?s dress? Hm. She?s a beautiful woman, but she might need a new stylist.
Julia Louis Dreyfus also wore Monique Lhuillier. Totally boring dress, but now that she?s presented with Keegan Michael Key, I really want them to work together.

| Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab at the SAGs: gorgeous or boringly pretty? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Rachel McAdams won a SAG last night as part of the ensemble for Spotlight. I?m happy about that! I loved Spotlight and I think the ensemble was easily the best of the year. I?m still a little bit confused about Rachel getting individual nominations for her performance, just because? I don?t know, the role wasn?t that showy or noteworthy, she was just part of a team effort that did a great job. But? I enjoy the fact that Rachel is bringing it for her awards season, as she should. Rachel wore this Elie Saab gown which I think is really pretty. People diss Elie Saab as obvious awards-show stuff ? so much tulle, so many sparkles ? but I think the house of Elie Saab doesn?t get enough credit for making flattering, pretty dresses. Not everything has to be ?challenging fashion? you know? Sometimes women just want to look pretty and sparkly.
As the red carpet was winding down and I was looking through the fashion photos, it occurred to me: Helen Mirren was one of my favorite looks of the night. Helen?s styling team is really amazing these days, right? Helen wore this silvery, slippery Jenny Packham and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Her body looks fantastic, her hair is fluffy & cute, and she just looked amazing. Sigh?

| Naomi Watts in blue and black Burberry at the SAGs: lovely or too conservative? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

My spidey sense was tingling last night when I saw Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber walking apart from each other into the SAGs. Star Magazine has been beating the breakup drum for these two after Naomi skipped the Globes, but they came together to the SAGs with a lot of assistant-type people judging from the brief footage I saw of them arriving. As Kaiser pointed out to me, there’s something off about their body language but I’m going to stick my fingers in my ears. Lalala nothing to see here, they came together. I didn’t see much of them during the ceremony either and one time when the camera panned to the Spotlight table, I saw Naomi but not Liev.
Liev’s film Spotlight won for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and he took the stage with his co-stars. Mark Ruffalo accepted the award and brought awareness to the despicable coverup of the Catholic molestation scandal, as he said he would do at the Oscars in lieu of a boycott. (Spotlight shows the the true story of the Boston Globe journalists who uncovered the truth and publicized it.) I have my fingers crossed that Spotlight will win for best picture (I haven’t seen it yet but Kaiser and Hecate rave about it) although I think that may go to The Big Short, which was good but not incredible in my estimation. The Big Short is the kind of film the academy loves.
Oh in terms of Naomi’s Burberry gown I like how covered up she is, this gown is elegant but it also veers on being too busy with all the blue flowers over the black background. Naomi and Liev look a little tipsy in some of these photos. I don’t blame them, it must be tedious to go to these awards ceremonies.
Joanne Froggatt of Downton Abbey (which won for best Drama Ensemble) was also in Burberry. I do not like this dress at all. The deep v-neck doesn’t pair well with the sequins around the waist and trailing up the sides. There’s something very 80s about it.
This is how you do a deep v-neck, by letting it standalone. Lily Rabe is in Lela Rose and I normally do not like this canary yellow color on anyone, but somehow she’s pulling it off with her light coloring, understated eyemakeup and bright red lip. This was striking on the red carpet. Look at the subtle hemline, with a delicate floral pattern leading to a grey skirt. Incredible.
This is Lily with her boyfriend, Hamish Linklater. I know him from The Big Short but he looks so different with a beard.

| Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano at the SAGs: overly brocaded or fine? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Y?all know I love Christina Hendricks. But she?s almost always a mess on the red carpet, and last night was no exception. Christina attended the SAGs for Mad Men?s last ensemble nomination, and Mad Men lost, which I?m sort of okay with. What I?m not okay with? Downton Abbey winning the ensemble award for Drama yet again! Ugh. Don’t get me wrong, I love Downton and I’m still watching and loving it. But it’s a very silly soap opera.
But anyway, Christina decided to go with this custom-made Christian Siriano gown. She?s worn Siriano to some major events before, to mixed results. I don?t know if we should blame the designer or if Christina is the one consistently choosing the wrong colors and fabrics. This gown looks like heavy brocade, something more suitable for a duvet or window treatments. The color is all wrong on her too. Her date was her husband (the Nerd King) Geoffrey Arend.
Two more women wore Christian Siriano ? Scandal?s Katie Lowes and Veep?s Anna Chlumsky. The silouette of Katie?s dress would have been great on Hendricks, and that color would have been a vast improvement too. Katie?s is my favorite out of this bunch, but I don?t hate Anna?s simple black gown. My problem with Anna?s look is that she did the on-trend topknot hairstyle and it looks like it?s pulled too tight.
