Reese Witherspoon must be at her home in Tennessee right now because she?s been making Tik Tok videos about all of the snow they?ve gotten recently. More specifically, she made one video in which she took fresh snow from outside of her house, added a bunch of ingredients to it, and called it a ?salted snowy cappuccino.? After the first video, people blew up her comments to tell her that it was gross and that snow is dirty. So of course, Reese made three follow-up videos. In the first one, she showed a microwaved cup of snow that had turned into clear water while cheekily asking, ?Am I not supposed to eat snow?? You could tell she thought that would be the end of it, but that?s not how the Internet works. In the second response video, Reese basically pulls a YOLO. In the third one, she tries to justify it by sharing that she drank unfiltered water while growing up.
Reese Witherspoon found out the hard way, when you make a TikTok dining on snow, you might get a chilly reception. After scooping freshly fallen snow off of her car with two mugs, Witherspoon added chocolate syrup and salted caramel syrup to the flurries, before topping it off with some cold brew and enjoying. ?Salted snowy capaccino?a snow salt chococinno,? she dubbed the twist on shaved ice.
But not long after she shared her recipe with the world, the world called her gross?in so many words. Fans took to the comments in horror that the Morning Show star was eating snow, which is apparently a controversial practice. ?Am I not supposed to eat snow?? Witherspoon asked in a follow-up video, even microwaving another cup of snow to show that it was clear and not dirty. ?We?re kind of in the category of ?you only live once,? and it snows maybe once a year here. Also I want to say something?it was delicious,? she added. ?I didn?t grow up drinking filtered water, I drank out of the tap,? she said in her third video response to the haters. ?We drank out of the hose, we put our mouth on the hose?maybe that?s why I?m like this.?

Look, bless her heart for trying, but I don?t know, eating snow is an odd hill to die on. If it were me, I wouldn?t have even made the first response video, lol. She should have X?d out of the app and enjoyed her snowy treat. When it comes to the comments, the Internet has the home field advantage, so sometimes its best ignore them. I?m just not sure justifying eating clean snow with ?Back in my day, we drank water out of a hose? is a winning argument. You liked the caramel snow, own it!
Now, to be fair to Reese, she grew up in the South and snow cream is a whole thing down here. I grew up on Long Island and had never heard of it before I moved to the South. Did y?all make snow cream or try to eat snow as kids? My husband and kids tried to make it one time. I did not partake because it wasn?t for me, but I wasn?t going to yuck their snow day yum. I did look it up, though, and scientists say that you can eat snow, but with a lot of caveats. So yeah, let the woman eat her cappuccino-infused snow.

Two Fridays ago, Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth announced their split. Given Reese?s personality and the huge amount of money at stake, I felt pretty certain that they would have only announced their split when they?d already gotten all of their financial and legal ducks in a row. I still believe that, just as I believe that the steady Friday/Saturday announcements have been preplanned, and organized in a particular way. So, two Fridays ago, we got the split announcement. Over the weekend, we learned that Reese has filed for divorce. Two Fridays from now, we?ll probably get a joint statement saying they?ve worked out their divorce agreement.
Reese Witherspoon has initiated divorce proceedings after announcing her split from Jim Toth. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Academy Award winner, 47, listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce when she filed Saturday in the Circuit Court of Davidson County, Tenn.
Witherspoons document lists the filing date as the date of their separation and says the couple has a prenuptial agreement in place. She also asks the court to designate her and Toth as joint custodians of their 10-year-old son, Tennessee James.
Witherspoon and the CAA talent agent announced their divorce in a joint statement last Friday, days before their 12th anniversary.
A source told PEOPLE that the two really are the best of friends, adding: This is such an amicable decision. They are so committed to co-parenting together. They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone.

I?m glad Reese has a prenup, although given how much money she?s made in the past twelve years and given they live in a community-property state, I do wonder if Toth is trying to get a much bigger settlement than Reese wants to give. I mean, she sold Hello Sunshine for $900 million AND Toth was part of the production company and he helped her facilitate some of those deals. He wants a slice of that, I?m sure. But yeah, I?ll say it again this is going to be like Gisele and Tom Brady. I guarantee Reese and Jim are already working with a divorce mediator and probably a private judge. They?ll have this divorce wrapped up in a bow by the end of April, if not sooner.

Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth announced their separation last Friday. It was a perfect blend of surprising and not-surprising. Jim and Reese haven?t been seen out together (on red carpets or anywhere else) in years. Toth was always seen as happy to take a backseat to Reese?s fame and celebrity. They seemed solid, yet he wasn?t showing up for her events at all. So? yeah. For what it?s worth, my guess is still that Reese and Jim only announced their split now because they?re close to working out the terms of their divorce quietly. Reese?s team hasn?t bashed Jim in the gossip media (yet), but she does want to come out of this with her reputation intact. So here?s a lil? sympathetic piece from People Magazine:

To me, her second marriage always seemed like a direct reaction to her first marriage Ryan Phillippe was all drama, and that marriage really imploded and it was pretty messy for several years. Reese was looking for someone stable and dependable, and someone who would be happy, and not jealous, when she succeeded (unlike Ryan). She got all that in Jim, and then they grew apart over time. Anyway, it?s kind of nice that this split doesn?t feel super-messy. And Reese?s base of supporters and fans? well, they don?t mind that she?s getting a second divorce. Reese likes to think that her brand is high-end, old-money Southern but it?s not. She?s a messy Southern girl and we figured that out a long time ago.

I?m not sure how scandalous Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth?s divorce will be, but I am interested to see if there will be any disputes which spill out into the public sphere. My guess is that no, nothing will spill out this separation and presumptive divorce has been a long time coming, by most accounts. Reese and Jim have already begun separating their finances and my guess is that they?ve already started working with a private judge to negotiate all of the financial and custodial issues. Now, what was the root of their issues? According to ?sources,? Toth had something like a midlife crisis he quit his job at CAA and he?s been staggering from job to job ever since. It might even be that Toth is the one who wanted to move on from Reese.
A friend and colleague who has worked with the couple over the last decade said the move came as no surprise to those who know them. The source said that despite successful joint business ventures such as the sale of their production company Hello Sunshine for almost $1 billion in 2021, the pair simply wanted different things for their lives.
The insider told The U.S. Sun: It was never if with Reese and Jim but when. This process of uncoupling really began in late 2021 when it became clear to everybody who knew both of them that they were itching for life apart from each other, even though they were both celebrating the massive success of the Hello Sunshine sale to Candle Media and the hundreds of millions of dollars they personally realized from the deal.
?That money was rocket fuel to them, but it sent them in different directions and pretty quickly after that deal closed, the only real common ground they had was the raising of their son, Tennessee. Even when Reese and Jim couldnt see eye to eye about anything, they are very dedicated co-parents and that shouldnt change even if Jim has to change zip codes, which is very likely now.?
The source explained that Jims massive career change five years ago, when he quit the agency business despite being one of the most admired leaders at Hollywood powerhouse CAA, was a big factor in the end of the couple?s marriage. Despite failing with short-lived mobile streaming service Quibi in 2020, Jim caught the Silicon Valley investment bug and is likely to move his life further in that direction, according to the insider.
The family friend said: Jim is the one who has changed massively just in the last few years. Jim just isnt the guy Reese married and had a son with anymore. His personality, his attitude and his whole take on life really changed when he got out of the agency business and decided he was tired of that stuffy world and being in the service business in general. Call it a midlife crisis if you want but thats when the tattoos, the chunky, weird jewelry, and dressing like somebody half his age really took hold.
?Jims stint as a top executive at Quibi only deepened his interest in the world of Silicon Valley, dot coms and start ups, and after that job ended, Jim essentially worked for Hello Sunshine as an advisor and investor. It led to the companys sale and for a real gut check moment for him and Reese they now had more money than either of them could ever figure out what to do with, and it was time to reassess. This divorce is the result of that process, but Reese has handled co-parenting before, quite successfully in fact, and shouldnt have any problem handling that again with Tennessee. Jim will still be in her life. But hes taking the millions he personally made in the Hello Sunshine deal and hes striking out for greener pastures. Hes wanted this for a long time.?

I hate when men do this. I know a lot of people men and women go through midlife crises and make big changes in their 40s or 50s. But I hate when a man thinks the answer is divorcing his wife and making huge career changes. It?s a cliche but even more than that, you know he?s going to regret that sh-t in five years. While Jim was never front-and-center on red carpets with Reese, I was left with the impression that he was an important advisor for Reese as she began to build her own empire. Still, it?s been years since they even walked a carpet together, and it was like? she just phased him out or something. In 2021, she sold her production company Hello Sunshine for $900 million. And now a divorce? Oh, no.

There are already stories about how Reese is a workaholic, because society must punish women for prioritizing their work or something. I mean, I think Reese works a lot too, but I doubt that was the ?reason? for this. Sources told Page Six: ?There?s no big scandal or drama, just two people who essentially became co-parents and don?t really have any romantic feelings for each other anymore.? Sources also said that Reese loved Jim because he was ?just a solid, dependable guy? after her ?years of sh-t? with Ryan. Which I agree Reese and Ryan were chaotic at the best of times and he clearly had a chip on his shoulder about how famous she became. Jim was happy to be supportive in the background. Anyway, while this news surprised me? it wasn?t a shock. It feels like they?ve been living separate lives for a while. I kind of wonder if there was any breaking point does one of them have a jumpoff? Eh.
PS Since I know everyone will mention it, Jim and Reese were already married when they were both arrested in Georgia in 2013. Toth was arrested for DUI, and Reese was arrested for disorderly conduct for her drunken Im an American Citizen rant.

Daisy Jones and the Six is a limited series based on the popular book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, loosely based on the real shenanigans/infidelity of Fleetwood Mac. The limited series begins airing on Amazon Prime next week, and they did a huge premiere event in LA last night. This was Riley Keough?s first red carpet since her mother passed away, and so far, Riley hasn?t done many promotional interviews, although maybe that will change in the coming weeks. Riley looked great at the premiere she wore Schiaparelli paired with enormous emerald statement earrings. She happily posed with her costars, especially Sam Claflin. Also: THIS is the way to wear gloves. Send these photos to the Princess of Wales.
Reese Witherspoon, who produced the series, also wore Schiaparelli. This dress is so bad/boring. I know she didn?t want to pull focus from the stars, but still.
The other two main women in the show, Suki Waterhouse and Camila Morrone, both went very ?70s with their styling, which I love. Suki wore Stephane Rolland, an emerald green muumuu, basically, but it looks amazing on her. Camila wore a boho gown in black (I haven?t seen an ID). I?m obsessed with both of these looks, minus Suki?s bangs trauma.

Reese Witherspoon has had a few production companies over the course of her career, but Hello Sunshine has been the most successful, and that is her current production/media company. About six years ago, Reese had a come-to-Jesus moment where she realized that if she wanted to get good parts and see actresses of her generation get good parts then she would need to find the projects herself and start at the beginning, putting everything together herself. Hello Sunshine has done just that, putting together projects like Gone Girl, Wild, Big Little Lies, The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere. Reese also used the Hello Sunshine media umbrella to launch a book club, a podcast, a speaking tour, and an interview show. And now after all of that successful building, Reese is selling. She?s selling Hello Sunshine for a reported $900 million!!
Reese Witherspoon?s media company, Hello Sunshine (Little Fires Everywhere), has been sold to a firm backed by private-equity giant Blackstone Group. Terms are not disclosed. According to the WSJ, which first reported the deal, it values the company at about $900 million. The new media venture Blackstone is backing will be run by former Walt Disney Co. executives Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, with Hello Sunshine as its first acquisition. Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden will join the board of the as-yet-unnamed company and will continue to operate Hello Sunshine.
According to the WSJ, Blackstone is spending more than $500 million in cash to purchase shares from existing Hello Sunshine investors, including AT&T and Emerson Collective. Witherspoon and some Hello Sunshine executives and investors will roll over the remaining equity into ownership stakes in the newly formed company.
Witherspoon?s star power and her ability to turn books into successful TV series was a main draw for buyers, sources said. The five-year old company does not have a library; it is a producer on most of the Hello Sunshine series but only has some ownership in Little Fires Everywhere.
There is a pipeline of upcoming shows, and Hello Sunshine also operates the influential Reese?s Book Club, which helps establish titles that the company later adapts for the screen.
Hello Sunshine?s eye-popping $900 million sale price illustrates the arms race for content in the streaming age and the value of a star-driven venture, with Witherspoon also a force in the consumer product market with her clothing line. For comparison, Amazon is the process of acquiring MGM, a studio with a storied, century-long history and extensive library, for $8.45 billion. The Hello Sunshine deal also will give other independent companies that have been shopping themselves, including LeBron James? SpringHill, A24 and Imagine, a lift in their search for buyers.
?I started this company to change the way all women are seen in media,? Witherspoon said. ?Today, we?re taking a huge step forward by partnering with Blackstone, which will enable us to tell even more entertaining, impactful and illuminating stories about women?s lives globally.?

It?s entirely good news for Reese she still has her vision intact, she still has power within the company she created and now she has the money, support and backing to do even more. I would even argue that what Blackstone is really buying is Reese?s eye for which projects will make good film or television adaptations, as well as Reese?s ability to put those projects together successfully. Reese has really consolidated her power in recent years, but this isn?t just a #GetMoneyBitch moment. She is, I believe, fully committed to bringing more diverse stories to film and television, and to hiring more diverse talent behind the camera too.

Reese Witherspoon chooses her words pretty carefully whenever she speaks about her first marriage and her first husband Ryan Phillippe. I tend to believe there was a lot of drama and a lot of bad sh-t in that marriage, much of which has never come out publicly, even though Ryan has been outed as a pretty awful person. Still, we don?t know what went down between Ryan and Reese, we only know that the last years of their marriage seemed especially fraught and that Reese walked away as a much bigger star than Ryan. Reese was a bigger star during their marriage too, which led to one memorable moment during the 2002 Oscars. Reese and Ryan were presenting together as Hollywood?s then ?golden couple.? Reese went off script to ask Ryan if she could read the winner and Ryan handed her the card and said ?You make more than I do.? Reese spoke about that moment and a lot more with the HFPA In Conversation podcast. Some highlights:
Ryan?s 2002 Oscar comment wasn?t scripted: Youre reminding me of that! I forgot that ever happened. But youre right, he did say that, and no, it wasnt scripted, and he didnt tell me he was going to say that before it happened on air. So I was a little bit flummoxed in the moment, too.
Women face increased pressure when they achieve financial success. Theres so few women that make a lot of money that sometimes theyre shamed for it, and sometimes they are expected to give more and do more and be more to others in the same position that, say, a male movie star would not be expected to. But I do think gender norms have changed quite a bit since that moment in 2000 or something.
Her daughter Ava came home from second grade in tears. Avas classmates had told her that her mom is one of the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, leading the young girl to feel so embarrassed. Reese shared, I said, Dont ever feel ashamed of a woman making money. There are women all over this world who dont have an opportunity or an education or the ability to make money. And the more women who make more money, will give more money away, will take care of their societies, will take care of their communities, will do more with that money. So dont ever feel bad about your mom making money, and dont ever feel bad if you make money, and dont be embarrassed or ashamed if its more than your partner.
On Power: [I have] an interesting relationship with the word power, and all I can think of is I just hope in my lifetime, I can help more women make more money. Financial stability is freedom.

I remember the 2002 Oscars moment clearly and from what I remember, Ryan actually got high marks because he didn?t seem particularly upset about the fact that Reese was making more money. It was more like a statement of fact and Ryan didn?t seem mad. Oh, I found the video, Im including it below. Its like I remembered. And did Ava really CRY when people were bullying her about her mom making money? How bizarre. But yeah, women should not be shamed for making money and we shouldn?t feel ashamed about making money or talking about money. I know I?m a gauche American and other cultures think it?s tacky to talk so much about money, but we absolutely need to normalize women talking publicly about how much money they make and how much money they deserve.

I?m afraid I have some terrible news and I?ve got to just rip this bandage off to get it over with, folks: Reese Witherspoon?s adorable French bulldog, Pepper, died. Pepper has been battling an ?aggressive cancer? according to Ava Phillippe, Reese daughter. Both Reese and Ava posted about losing Pepper. I got incredibly choked up reading their posts. We always ask each other to send pet pics to help us crawl out of our sad spaces and yet we don?t realize how attached we get to our cyber friends? pets and families until tragedy strikes. Same goes for celebrities pets. I have this tremendous list of pets and kids I check in on on Instagram that I am legitimately invested in and I?ve never met any of them. (That sounds a lot creepier then I mean it to.)
Pepper was the familys dog. Ava was in the process of adopting her own pup and in a wonderful twist of fate, she brought her dog home on what was to be Peppers last day.
After a tough week, Reese Witherspoon?s daughter Ava Phillippe is introducing the world to her new pet.
Ava, who joined her family in mourning the loss of their beloved family French bulldog Pepper, revealed on Sunday that, as fate would have it, she had welcomed a new canine companion into her life on the same day Pepper died.
?What a wild & bittersweet week. The day we lost Pepper just so happened to be the day I brought this sweet boy home with me,? Ava, 21, wrote alongside a trio of snapshots of her adorable new dog.
?This is Benji! she wrote, calling the pup a dream of a rescue dog.
?He loves to cuddle and meet new friends (human & canine) and has quickly adjusted to life in his new home environment, she wrote. ?Benji also enjoys squeaky toys, outdoor adventures, and anything he is allowed (or not allowed) to eat. He is the happiest, smartest boy, and I?m so grateful to be his person. I cannot wait for him to perfect his manners and become his full, goofy self as time goes on!?

I posted Ava?s pics of Benji below, he?s adorable. As Ava goes on to say in the caption, she is not sure what breeds Benji is, although she suspects he has some Border Collie, and invited her fans to offer their input. I am crap at guessing animal breeds except I can tell Benji is largely made up of Good Boy. As a side note, I wish those dog DNA kits were cheaper. Every year I try to get some (I need two) on sale during Amazon Prime Days, but I never make it in time. Ava also said that even though they?d, ?just entered each other?s lives, I feel like I?ve known Benji forever.? I think a lot of us know that feeling. I?m so happy for Ava and Benji. And maybe the timing is fate. Who knows if Ava would have adopted her own dog so soon if she?d lost Pepper first? I needed long mourning periods between pets. But when we lost our family dog (also aggressive cancer), we adopted soon after to make good on a promise I?d made the kids. I was leery of the timing but honestly, it helped me heal in this instance. It helped my parents too. Grandparents mourn ? my father once wrote one of my cats an obituary to try to get over his grief. So I?m sure Benji is helping Reese deal with her grief over Pepper.
Welcome Benji and Congratulations Ava and everyone involved. Rescue costs are going up for most organizations due to transportation and inter-state fee increases. Many rescues and shelters are struggling despite the demand because even if the organization waives the adoption fees, the transportations/livery fees are prohibitive to the adopters. But organizations like Best Friends, mentioned above, are linking rescues up and getting animals from kill to No Kill facilities with the help of an incredible network of volunteers and charities. So even if you can?t adopt you can still help.

Reese Witherspoon recently shared her smoothie recipe on Instagram and its epic! I drink a similar green concoction, Ill share my ingredients below, but hers is above and beyond. She mixes up two heads of romaine lettuce with an entire peeled lemon, a pear and an apple and drinks it every morning. Its worth noting that Reese uses a Vitamix, not a juicer, so shes getting all the fiber from the fruits and vegetables. Thats the same device I use, although I saved a little money by getting mine refurbished. You can get a new Vitamix on Amazon for around $330. Ive had mine for about 8 years and its more than paid for itself. Reese just drinks that giant smoothie as a late breakfast and doesnt eat again until lunchtime around 1. Heres what she said.
This is the smoothie I [have had] every day for the past 8 years. I have this instead of breakfast at around 10 or 11 in the morning. Then Im not hungry until like 1. You need two heads of romaine lettuce. [She chops it up]. A little spinach, celery, anything green [from] the refrigerator. It has to have something sweet so I put in one pear, an apple, a banana and a [peeled] lemon. This makes two portions. I leave it in the fridge and I dont have to make it tomorrow. 1/2 cup coconut water. [Blend it in the Vitamix]. You can add anything to it, protein powder, almond butter, flax seeds. [Kerry Washington] told me about it [before I really knew her]. I said your skin is so beautiful, what do you do? She said I think its from this drink.

Reeses smoothie is super thick, which is not how I like mine. It also doesnt sound sweet enough. My smoothie is a bunch of kale, about 1/2 the full bunch I get loose at the grocery store and I dont take the stems off, about 1/3 cup of some frozen fruit mix including coconut, strawberry and pineapple, 1/2 a banana, a squeeze of some ginger in a tube and a lot of stevia. Ive made it with romaine before, my mom told me to do that, but I prefer kale because it has more nutrients. I dont use spinach because it gets wilted too fast and I hate how that tastes. I used to put protein powder in it and that tasted great because it has so much sugar, but I stopped using that. I make it really watery and just fill the water halfway up the blender. Like Reese I make it every other day and save the other half in a vacuum-seal container. Someone once commented that drinking all that kale can give you kidney stones, but knock wood that has not happened to me and I try to drink a lot of water. I drink the shake around 8 and then eat breakfast around 10 though. Maybe I should be fasting longer like Reese does. A lot of you swear by that!
