It's been a rough week for the girls. First Paramore singer Hayley Williams was unable to finish the first show on the band's tour on Tuesday night and then had to cancel a scheduled gig on Thursday night due to illness. Then, after Miley Cyrus struggled through her show on Tuesday night in Salt Lake City with a nasty bout of strep throat, the singer was forced to pull the plug on her Friday night show in Omaha, Nebraska.
According to a message posted on Cyrus' Web site, due to the lingering illness, the show has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 13.
A few weeks into her Wonder World Tour, Cyrus, 16, had to stop for 15 minutes on Tuesday night's show. She later took to her Twitter page to explain her ailment. "My throat is yelling at me to shut up. Strep is the worst thing ever," she wrote. "Thank you, Salt Lake, for being so amazing and supportive. My body is done with me working it so hard. Off to have a very nice peaceful sleep."
According to her tweets, dad Billy Ray and sister Noah have been keeping the singer's spirits up until she gets better. "Nurse Noah is taking good care of me tonight. I just put on a Snuggie and ate a popsicle," she wrote.
Though she urged Omaha fans to keep their fingers crossed that she'd make Friday's show, it was not to be. Cyrus posted a series of updates on Wednesday and Thursday in which she was clearly laid up in bed, variously eating Spaghetti-O's and watching "Steel Magnolias" with her dad and dissecting the finer points of "The Little Mermaid."
The next show on Cyrus' schedule is a Saturday night gig at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. No information on whether that show is still on was available at press time.

The apartment hunt comes as rumors that Miss Hudson and her Yankees slugger beau are expecting their first child together.
Nonetheless, Kate’s rep, Brad Cafarelli, denied the claims – telling press that is just isn’t the case.

Ashlee has always thought Colin, who plays Auggie Kickpatrick, was attractive and a friend says, “One of the first things Ash said was, ‘The guy who plays Auggie is really hot.”
But while Ashlee has her fun, husband Pete is jealous. The two have been fighting at their top over him and it’s even said to be starting to affect her work.
Sources tell that, on the set, she has even broken down in sobs after angry phone calls.

Dude? seriously? Seductive, Timeless Glamour and leggings? Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi will be eating for two – as the host is pregnant.
The model, author, and Emmy-nominated beauty confirmed that she is expecting after years of hardship with endometriosis, which she co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America.
Endometriosis is a condition where the uterus’ lining grows in other areas of the body that causes pain, irregular bleeding and even sometimes even infertility.
A rep says, “As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi’s privacy at this time.”
Although the father’s baby has not been revealed, many assume Manu Nathan is the dad, but her rep denies , saying he’s her cousin.
Lakshmi was with Salman Rushdie several years ago and ended things in 2007 after three years of marriage.
She won the Best First Book award for her first cookbook, Easy Exotic, at the 1999 World Cookbook Awards in Versailles, France. Her second cook book, Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet, was released in October 2007.

While they’re known for their academic prowess, even Harvard students can stir up some drama.
The students of the school were caught after pulling a prank in which they stalked Harry Potter star Emma Watson at a football game between their school and hers, Brown University.
The 19-year-old was in Cambridge Massachusets to cheer for her team, but had to be whisked by security guards to keep stalkers and fans away.
The ones that started the problems were students who worked at Harvard Voice magazine. “We will be Live-Tweetin’ the game and possibly stalking Emma Watson, so keep your eyes peeled for that, too!” the magazine’s Twitter feed read.
Tweets that followed included:
“Let’s go Hermione! Lolz.”
“In enemy territory. Lookin for a certain witch.”
And: “WATSON FOUND. i repeat WATSON FOUND.”
The magazine pursued by posting photographs of Watson on the Web site and called it a “success” when referring to hunting the witch down.
Freshman Watson was a little shaken up over the stunt. “Anybody can do anything unfeelingly to anybody in this day and age, especially if they feel imbued with entitlement from membership in Harvard College,” one person wrote.
In response to the complaints, the magazine responded: “There seems to be much ado about nothing over this photo and liveblog. Understand that these live tweets were made to be intentionally outrageous and overblown.”

“It was a good time to be out of America,” she said.
The 51 year-old said that there were certain aspects of marriage that were missing such as caring for the kids. However although marriage may not be taking place, she could fall in love again and spend her life with someone.
“I don’t know, I’ve lost perspective,” she said. “Do you know?”
“I’m happily married now and will be till the day I die,” Letterman deadpanned in response.
Letterman also joked about the rumored athletes the “Material Girl” has dated. Dennis Rodman and recently her link to Alex Rodriguez.
“Have you ever ridden hockey players before?” he asked.
“No, that’s the one sport I haven’t investigated,” she joked.

As many know, Harry Potter star Emma Watson decided to forgo traditional British universities in favor of an American university experience. She enrolled in Rhode Island?s Brown University as a freshman last month. Some gossip sites reported the details of Emma?s arrival and early comings and goings on campus, but for the most part, people kept a somewhat respectful distance. She seemed to genuinely want a normal college experience, telling journalists, ?I want to be normal. I really want anonymity like everyone else.?
Unfortunately, the staff of the Harvard Voice didn?t get the memo. When Emma arrived on Harvard?s campus for the Brown v. Harvard football game, the Voice had set up an online stalking ?game? for Harvard students:
Emma Watson probably won’t be returning to Harvard any time soon after being stalked in an orchestrated campaign of Ivy League harassment.
Page Six reported on Tuesday that the “Harry Potter” starlet and Brown University freshman looked “quite shaken” on Saturday as Harvard beat Brown 24-21 in Cambridge.
Watson was reportedly flanked by security guards to protect her from gawkers. But her discomfort was actually the result of a targeted campaign by the Harvard Voice student magazine to draw as much attention to her as possible.
Before the game, a blog post on the mag’s Web site said: “We will be Live-Tweetin’ the game and possibly stalking Emma Watson, so keep your eyes peeled for that, too!” A succession of tweets posted on the Voice’s Twitter account during the game followed, including, “Let’s go Hermione! Lolz,” a reference to Watson’s character in “Harry Potter.” It went on, “In enemy territory. Lookin for a certain witch,” and, “WATSON FOUND. i repeat WATSON FOUND.”
The Harvard Voice also posted a picture of Watson on its Web site and proclaimed its stalking mission a “success.” Some readers were furious. “There is a locatable cause of Watson’s experience at Harvard Stadium and a blameworthy party,” read one online rebuke. “Anybody can do anything unfeelingly to anybody in this day and age, especially if they feel imbued with entitlement from membership in Harvard College.”
The Voice eventually attached an editor’s note to its post of Watson’s photo, saying, “There seems to be much ado about nothing over this photo and liveblog. Understand that these live tweets were made to be intentionally outrageous and overblown.”
Voice editors didn’t respond to requests for comment. A rep for Brown said, “This isn’t the sort of thing we comment on.” Watson’s rep couldn’t be reached.

Jackasses. It?s not funny, it?s just creepy and gross. Poor Emma. Although, I have to say, if she really wanted the average, normal American university experience, creepy and gross sort of comes with the territory. This report from the Enquirer seems like it could totally be false, but many of you seem to enjoy analyzing the situation between Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes, so I thought I?d bring you this latest little slice. By the way, I?m totally there with all of you - this B-List scandal has it all for me - scandal, ?homewrecking?, stalking, delusions, media battles, photo-ops, tragedy, bitchy quotes and hilarity. It?s a self-sustaining soap opera and I love every minute of it.
A few days ago, we heard that Eddie and his ex, Brandi Glanville, were attempting to proceed with their divorce in an amicable way. After spending a significant amount of time trying to destroy Eddie in the press, Brandi seemed to be singing a new tune. All of a sudden, she and Eddie seemed to be getting along, and they were even photographed at their son?s soccer game - together! I theorized, ?Brandi is looking for a way to drive a wedge between Eddie and LeAnn, and she figures that it will piss LeAnn off if Eddie is now getting along with his ex-wife.?
It looks like LeAnn still has some arrows in her quiver, though. Despite warnings that Eddie?s an unreformed womanizer, LeAnn seems to be hellbent on providing as many media outlets with stories about how she and Eddie are totally in love, preparing to marry, and planning on lots of babies. This report from the National Enquirer is about the ?cozy ranch? she and Eddie have leased. Apparently, they liked the house because it had a ?huge backyard? and ?room to spare? for all of the babies Eddie and LeAnn are going to have:

There?s really no doubt in my mind that LeAnn has her sights set on marriage and babies. What I can?t figure out is how on-board Eddie is. Part of me thinks he?s going along for the ride, knowing that Brandi will take him to the cleaners and that LeAnn will have the cash to support him ad infinitum. The other part of me thinks that Eddie seems to be looking for a way out, and that LeAnn is probably not his only ?girlfriend?. He looks like a guy who wants to be dating lots of girls and having fun, not stuck in some fussy ranch house planning his next family with LeAnn. I really don?t know.

This week?s Goop newsletter is another one of Gwyneth?s cut-and-paste deals (it’s a “DO”). I hate when she does that. I consider it ?phoned-in? Goop. I prefer when she takes the time to make a video, or really shares some of her pearls of wisdom, rather than sending off a snotty note and cutting-and-pasting advice from ?experts? or her ?good friends?. Anyway, this week Goop wants to teach us about economics, investments and budgets. Gwyneth sounds like she was half-asleep writing her introduction, although you should note that actually uses the word “layman”. It’s like she twitched and wanted to use “peasants” but thought better of it.

Making their first appearance since getting married and announcing their pregnancy, Christina Milian and The Dream were spotted out in Beverly Hills, California last night (September 30).
The musical family looked to be in good spirits as they made their way past the paparazzi to grab some dinner at a swanky local restaurant.
Miss Milian was proud to show off her baby bump in an orange maxi dress, with the proud papa-to-be showing her plenty of PDA.

Britney Spears went shopping at a Target in LA yesterday while wearing cut off shorts, Pink Uggs, and a see-through floral top tied up to reveal her stomach. It wasn’t one of her worst outfits, and at least it covered the important bits. Britney ended the US leg of her tour over the weekend and is now headed to Australia in November. With over a month of downtime, we’re sure to see plenty of photos of her at Starbucks, getting pedicures, and shopping.
Britney went to Target for the second day in a row and ended up picking up a pet parakeet afterwards at a pet store in Calabasas, CA.
All of that is fascinating, I know, and this is just an excuse to post these pictures of Brit-Brit shopping. Maybe she dresses like this on purpose, because we didn’t talk much about the pretty flowing white sundress she wore to Target yesterday.

Jennifer Garner has an interview with Parade Magazine that was published earlier this week, but it’s new to me and there’s not a lot going on so we’ll cover it. We have this understanding between the writers that Thursdays generally suck for news, (with Wednesdays a close second, forgive us all the Gosselin and Kardashian coverage yesterday) but I try not to harp on it too much. Just keep it in mind and cut us some slack on those days.
Anyway Garner gave a cute interview in which she talked about what she enjoys in life and how she gets by as a busy mom. Kaiser tends to think that Garner is too goody-goody to be true, but I’m also a mom in my 30s and I can relate to her. I think she is an authentic person trying to do the best job she can and that she handles it all with grace. More celebrities should be like Garner, who never seems to get caught up in the glamor but still radiates it on the red carpet.
In this interview with Parade, Garner reveals how her upbringing influenced her and describes how she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family. She doesn’t make it seem easier than it is, though, and admits that things can get harried in her family and that sometimes she’s exhausted and needs help:
Tips for working moms.
“Good luck! Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You should try to get help wherever you can. Don’t guilt yourself, it doesn’t help. Do anything you can to try to save time with the dumb stuff around the house so you can be with your kids as much as you can. And put your BlackBerry down and just be with them.”
How physical stunts prepared her for motherhood.
“Alias set me up in a good way for motherhood because I did run on no sleep for so long and I did push myself so hard. Everybody talked about how hard the sleep thing was with babies and I thought ‘Oh, this isn’t that bad! You’re sleeping some!’ But it’s never-ending. There’s never a weekend or there’s never a night, that’s what’s harsh. On Alias at least I had to stay in shape for my job so it was just part of my day no matter what. Now finding that hour for myself is much harder to find. I have to do it before they’re awake.”
Taking advice from mom.
“My mom is full of good advice. She always says, ‘Happiness is your own responsibility.’ And she always says, ‘Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.’ That’s what she would tell us after every breakup or anytime you did poorly on something. Most of our little bites of advice as kids came from either Little House on the Prairie or Anne of Green Gables.”
Finding inspiration at home.
“My mom was really vigorous about making sure that we saw things and that we questioned things. Education was so important to both of my parents. My mom grew up in poverty in Oklahoma — like Dust Bowl, nine people in one room kind of place — and the way she got out of poverty was through education. My dad grew up without a dad, with very little and he also made his way out through education. So it’s always been emphasized in my house. There’s so much missed opportunity with all of these kids all across the country who aren’t getting what they need to do well in school and once you don’t do well in school you don’t want to go to school. So it’s a cycle in our country that’s very sobering.”
Mom by day, red carpet stunner by night.
“If you look at the pictures taken every day of my life you’ll see that I do not make it work by far most of the time! I am in jeans that are on the floor from last night and one of the five t-shirts that I rotate. I do know moms who pull it together every day, I am not one of them. But when I do, I try to really pull it together so it makes some kind of impact. Sometimes for yourself you just need to take a shower, put on something clean, put on a little blush and go out the door.”
Whipping up some home cooking.
“I make really homey food. Just the other night I did a roast chicken with butternut squash and brown sugar. And I did brown rice and some roasted broccoli. I make a wheat pizza once a week. When my daughter is the hungriest, that’s when I try to have vegetables out for her to snack on while I’m finishing dinner. So I don’t start with putting her favorite thing in front of her, I start with putting some snap peas or broccoli with dip or carrots to get her going. I rarely do take-out. I like to be in charge of what we eat. I’m a control freak that way!”
Raising kids in the spotlight.
“I feel like they have a very normal upbringing. It’s too bad that there aren’t laws that protect their privacy, but that’s a whole other thing. They do have things that are really exciting for them and strange for them, I’m sure. Like living in a different place for a while then going back home. But kids have that with parents with all different jobs so I try not to look at it as something that is a problem. But kids are kids, they think whatever goes on in their lives is normal and I think that my kids’ lives are pretty normal.”
What she hopes to pass on to her daughters.
“It’s so important to me that they grow up with a healthy self-esteem, confidence and knowing just where to kick if they need to! You want to set the best example you can for them in every way. You want them to grow up and be proud of you.”
Her perfect day.
“A little hair and makeup! No, my perfect day is a day where I have a little bit of time with each kid and then we all play together. Where I make dinner where there’s enough left over for another day. And if the day ends with a glass of wine and a conversation with my husband, that’s a good day.”

Garner only briefly mentioned that she hopes to protect her daughters’ privacy, and she’s spoken about this issue before. In May, she explained that the paparazzi regularly yell at her older daughter Violet, three, to try and get a reaction and explained “When we go to preschool, there are so many paparazzi there that they are knocking kids on the heads with cameras and knocking them down.” The fact that Garner has not once lashed out at the paparazzi and that she hardly mentions this very real threat to her family is a testament to what a patient person she is. From what I can tell Garner and Affleck don’t even have a bodyguard, even though she’s had to deal with a longterm stalker. Maybe they should get a burly guy or two to fend off the photographers, but they’re probably just striving to keep things as normal as possible for their daughters.
Like Garner, I also love to cook, and there is a real joy in finding a recipe and making nice something for your family. The more I hear from Garner, the more I like her. She’s a rarity in Hollywood and I wish both her and her husband Ben a lot of success in the future.

The “Old School” actor (42) has revealed that they’re expecting a boy, adding to their other two sons Magnus (5) and Mattias (2).
Ferrell came into massive stardom during his years on “Saturday Night Live,” a gig he parlayed into an uber-successful film career.

Getting back to her shopping-intensive routine of life back home in Los Angeles, Britney Spears was escorted by her two bodyguards for a shopping session on Wednesday (September 30).
The “Gimme More” singer started things off with a trip to Target before opting to buy a pet parakeet from the California Pet Center in Calabasas.
The visit to Target followed a trip to the popular store the previous day - during which time Brit picked up a few Michael Jackson CDs among other purchases.
Miss Spears just returned back home after finishing up the North American run of Circus shows in Las Vegas this past weekend. Brintey’s bow off duty until November, when she heads to Australia for a string of six shows.

Fresh off of a red carpet night on the town, Drew Barrymore was spotted being dropped off at LAX Airport in Los Angeles to catch an outbound flight on Wednesday (September 30).
The “Charlie’s Angels” actress donned a pair of red shades as she hopped out of her chauffeured ride - ready to continue along with her “Whip It” promotional duties.
As for Drew’s upcoming movie, she spoke to the New York Times about directing, saying, “People say, ‘Did you always want to direct?’ or ‘Do you think you’ll ever direct again?’ I’m always very polite about it. Do you really think I haven’t been preparing for this my whole life? And I’m just going to try it once and then never do it again? It baffles me.
