In some photos of Josh Hartnett and his girlfriend Tamsin Egerton, I?m like, ?Is he dating Karlie Kloss?? But in other photos, she looks nothing like Karlie. Josh Hartnett is going to be a dad. The ?Black Hawk Down? star?s girlfriend, English actress Tamsin Egerton, is pregnant, his rep confirms to Page Six: ?It?s true and they are beyond thrilled.?
The pair reportedly met in 2011 on the set of ?The Lovers,? but started dating in 2012. The flick was released in February. Hartnett, 36, who currently stars on Showtime?s ?Penny Dreadful,? recently sold his Minneapolis home for $2.3 million. He previously dated Scarlett Johansson and Amanda Seyfried.

I don?t have any shade for this. There really hasn?t been much scandal with Josh or with this relationship. He?s 36 years old, she?s 26. While a decade is still a significant age difference, it?s not insurmountable or gross. Josh still gets some loonies, and I suspect there will be a few bitter tears about this. Even though? really, Josh is barely a celebrity at this point. He gives like one major interview a year and while those annual interviews always make headlines, Josh is pretty much now just a cable TV actor. Let?s wish him well. These are photos of Matt Damon at a press conference in China for his film The Great Wall, which is filming now. He was there with co-stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) Andy Lau, and Jing Tian, along with director Zhang Yimou. The film isn’t out until November, 2016 so it’s curious to me that they’re promoting it now. The Daily Mail notes that this is “one of the highest-budget films ever in China as well as the biggest America-China co-production to date.” Given the emphasis on global box office as well as the need to appeal to Chinese audiences and Chinese censors in particular, this film makes sense. It’s a calculated gamble on a huge market that only a few American-made films are able to tap into.
In Great Wall, Damon plays a “mercenary in search of treasure” in 15th century China during the construction of The Wall. It’s being billed as a “scifi action” film, which could be interesting. They’ve been filming on “28 different sets, including on a fake Great Wall which was specially erected and is used as a weapon against otherworldly creatures in the movie.” Incidentally, while Damon is filming in China his recently separated neighbor and best friend, Ben Affleck, has been staying in his mansion, according to Page Six.
The real news, in my superficial view, is that Matt Damon is sporting a ponytail now. I’m assuming this is a weave or wig for the role, although it’s a good one, since he had short hair just a couple of months ago. Some people like it and think it’s hot. It’s very Chris Hemsworth, (who is friends with Damon btw) and although I personally hate it, some of you (like Kaiser) will find it sexy. I like my guys clean cut, and I’m particularly fond of a bald Damon circa Elysium.
Guys with long hair aren’t my bag. So Damon isn’t doing it for me here unfortunately. I still would though, no question. Lainey has more photos of Matt with long hair if you need more time to make a decision.

I finally got a chance to read Star Magazine?s full LeAnn Rimes story in this week?s issue and there wasn?t a whole of stuff that wasn?t covered in the online editions. Basically, OK! Magazine and Star got their hands on some legal documents that show that LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian borrowed $350,000 from their friends, Dave and Lizzie Fradin, back in 2012. They borrowed that huge sum to help make a down payment on their Hollywood Hills home, which cost $3 million at the time. Since 2012, LeAnn and Eddie have not paid back one dime of the $350,000. Star says that LeAnn has pretty much blown through her fortune, which at one time was estimated at $20 million or thereabouts (but probably significantly less than that when she married Eddie).
So, did Star?s print edition have anything new? A few extra quotes, basically. ?LeAnn burned through her $20 million fortune.? And as for all of the vacations and luxury items LeAnn and Eddie purchase? ?Most of the purchases were made with credit cards? Eddie thought he?d hit the jackpot by marrying a Grammy winner? the idea they?d be desperate enough to ask friends for money never crossed his mind.? Ouch. So what does LeAnn have to say about all this? This went down on her Twitter yesterday:

This week?s National Enquirer has a pretty funny story that seems ripped from the comment section here at CB. The gist is that George Clooney?s Grand Amal Experiment has gone sideways, and he wasn?t expecting the whole ?America?s Last Bachelor Finally Marries His Equal? to blow up in his face quite so spectacularly. Which is what we?ve been saying all along? Especially in the wake of the epic box office failure of Tomorrowland, Team Clooney is almost definitely trying to figure out where their strategy went wrong. Some highlights from the Enquirer?s story:
His latest movie ?Tomorrowland? is a disaster, his political dreams are fading and now George Clooney is blaming wife Amal!
?George has had enough,? dished a source. ?The Amal Experiment has backfired badly and he?s looking for a way out. George thought that Amal would help him fulfuill his dream of running for office and, maybe one day, becoming president.?
Instead, Amal?s morphed into a red carpet darling, and George feels her connections have thrown cold water on his political ambitions.
?It?s a nightmare for George,? said one source. ?Suddenly, he isn?t getting calls from DC movers and shakers and believes Amal?s to blame. Instead of being like Bill and Hillary Clinton, they?ve become like Kim and Kanye!?
Even worse, George feels that Amal?s also ruined his Hollywood A-list status.
?He thinks she?s damaged his box office appeal? he actually believes she?s made him a laughingstock among his peers!?
Some Hollywood insiders have quipped the couple should do a reality show, ?Keeping Up with the Alamuddins.?
Desperate to regain his star status, George will take his wife back to England when renovations at their new home are completed. ?George is going to have a house-warming party, and carry Amal over the threshold. Then he?s going to leave Amal on her own in that big old mansion, while he hightails it back to America to rebuild his image!?

My take: while it does feel like the Enquirer is rather gleefully (and hilariously) taking down the Alamooney marriage, they?re not entirely wrong. I think George really believed this whole marriage thing was going to play out differently. He believed that everyone would buy the image of Amal that his press people forced on media outlets like People Magazine. He believed that Amal was going to be seen as this shining beacon of political legitimacy. Instead, many people are like, ?Wow, she?s really spending a lot of money on clothes? and ?she sure loves to pose for the paparazzi.? After getting out of his comfort his zone of wrestlers, waitresses and Vegas party girls, George wasn?t expecting his lawyer wife to be just the same kind of thirsty, wannabe fashionista as his previous girlfriends.
Now, all that being said? George could easily rework the strategy by doing one simple thing: knocking up Amal. There?s nothing better for an image makeover than a baby.

The other day, I read something (I think it was on Pajiba?) where someone said that Vince Vaughn?s turn on True Detective was his last shot at some kind of legitimate Hollywood career, and that if he messed it up, he wouldn?t be working much. To that I say? never underestimate Hollywood?s ability to find consistent work for middle-aged white men. If Vince screws up his ?comeback? on TD, he will still work, it will just be in the family-comedy ghetto along with Adam Sandler and Paul Blart: Mall Cop. But I bring this up because I keep hearing stories about Vince Vaughn being an unpleasant person in real life. There was a story about him feuding with Taylor Kitsch (Kitsch later denied it, but Vince never denied it). There are stories about him being rude to just about everyone. And now Star Magazine claims he was a total jackass to a disabled fan.
True detective star Vince Vaughn was a true jerk to a 13-year-old disabled fan who dared approach him at a Chicago Blackhawks playoff game.
?Vince could see that the boy needed a walker and that it was a struggle just to get through the stands,? a witness tells Star.
?But when he asked for a photo, Vince said ?Not now, I?m concentrating on warm-ups.? The game hadn?t even started!? dishes the insider.
The boy, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, left dejected, while the Blackhawks went on to win the Stanley Cup.
?Vince is not the kind of fan Chicago needs,? adds the source. ?That poor kid deserved better!?

If only that child had been armed to the teeth, eh? My take: you hear the same kinds of stories time and time again, you start to believe there?s something there. Even though this story seems too perfect, like it had to have everything ? a disabled fan, hockey, a walker and a rude-ass celebrity ? I still believe that Vince is probably a rude-as-hell douchebag and yes, he?s probably turned down photos with disabled kids before. And the game hadn?t even started!!! That?s what kills me. ?Nah, man, I need to watch my team warm-up!?

Both US Magazine and Page Six claimed to have an exclusive late yesterday with the news the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have fled to the Bahamas with their kids. People has the news of course too, with similar quotes about how these two are great parents and how they’re trying to shield their kids from the media, which is smart and definitely in their best interests.
It’s worth noting that none of the tabloids had this split on their cover in the latest editions. Ben and Jen dropped this news on a holiday week when they knew the print media would be slower to pick it up. They also have meticulously controlled the information in the press, to the point where they’re giving different but complementary insider quotes to the major celebrity outlets. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had an entire media team working on controlling the story surrounding their divorce. It’s like they took a page from Goop’s divorce playbook and took it to the next level. Here are the latest themes in the Garner-Affleck divorce PR narrative.
They’re in the Bahamas to protect their kids
US Magazine’s source: “They got the kids out of L.A. as soon as school was out. [The Bahamas] is a place they?ve been going to for years that?s very private and special for their kids. When either of them have had work commitments they have been leaving to go fulfill them.”
Page Six’s source: “It was important for both Ben and Jen to get away from the media spotlight and spend quiet time with the kids. They have been spending a lot of time with the kids. This has been hard for everyone, but they are both doing everything to put the kids first.”
People’s source: “They plan on co-parenting and doing absolutely everything in the best interest of the kids… They were together as a family that day [they announced the divorce]. The family felt it was important to be together and they were together. The family is united and, no matter what, will protect the kids.”
Ben is miserable; Jen is doing great
People’s source: “This isn’t easy for anyone and it’s devastating to Ben too. He loves his family and will always put them first.”
Page Six’s source: “Ben looked more gray then usual [on vacation in the Bahamas], but Jen was in great spirits. Jen seemed in a great mood, and was spotted working out with a trainer. The gray ? it?s a concern. Ben and Jen are just worried about how the kids will adjust. That?s why they went away together.”
They’re modeling their divorce after Paltrow and Martin
US Magazine’s source: “They are going to try and model their divorce like Gwyneth and Chris. They feel like they have to be mature adults for their children’s sake and that they will figure out the healthiest way to co-parent. They want the kids lives to stay the same and to not have to change just because they aren’t going to be married anymore.”
Again, they’re great parents when Ben is around
People’s source: “Ben was a family man when he could be and his kids adore him. He traveled a lot but when he is with the kids he’s really with them, taking them out for treats, having fun with them. And there is nothing more important to Jen than being a good mom.”
People’s source (2nd story): “Ben is a good dad when he is around, but he has so many outside interests and personal issues to get beyond.”
Ben wasn’t present
People’s source (2nd story): “He?s like a ’50s dad. He thinks work is your priority and providing money for your family is your priority, and raising the kids day to day and making a nice house is the wife’s priority. It leaves too much of the burden on Jen to be a mom and dad to the children when she also has a career.”
People also has quotes from a “childhood pal” of Jennifer Garner’s, who repeats the claim that “They’re really great parents. They’re really involved.” Jennifer’s friend also states that Jennifer told her Ben was her “soul mate” a few years ago.
The Garner-Affleck divorce was planned to a T and that not only benefits their images, it should also hopefully keep things as stable as possible for their three young kids. I’m not buying this claim that Ben is miserable, though. Ben was miserable in the marriage and he was miserable being tied down. He’s probably thrilled to have his freedom now, even if that means he has to play this media game for a while.
Affleck covers the new issue of EW as Batman along with his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice costars Henry Cavill and Gal Godot. (EW also has new photos from the film, which is out in March, 2016.) In the accompanying interview, Affleck calls Batman “the American version of Hamlet” and adds that Batman is beat down somewhat. “He?s at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There?s this sort of world-weariness to it.” Affleck also dissed his first, earlier superhero role, in 2003?s Daredevil, where he co-starred with his future first wife. “Daredevil didn?t work, at all. If I wanted to go viral I would be less polite. That was before people realized you could make these movies and make them well.” Yeah this guy really does need a media team.
