| Brooke Burke Charvet on whether you should date before you are officially divorced | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m reporting on Brooke Burke Charvet again because her essay on getting divorced from her husband of seven years, David Charvet, really touched me. She?s a good writer and has an open and emotionally vulnerable perspective on divorce. I covered that last month and this was my favorite line she wrote ?It took me a long time to differentiate between giving up and letting go.? That?s poignant and describes so many circumstances.
Brooke was a guest on Steve Harvey?s talk show, on a panel of three women that included Tamar Braxton and Julissa Bermudez. Steve brought up the issue of Jada Pinkett Smith admitting that she dated Will Smith before he was officially divorced and asked if this was ever an option. They all said that it depends, basically.
Would you date someone before they were officially divorced?
JB: They should be separated I think first. It?s a process, [divorce] takes a while. It depends how long they?ve been separated.
TB: I disagree with that. That?s still my husband. I feel like when you file for divorce and you?re living in different places. Yes it?s cool to date other people but not just separated. We [are] taking a break.
BC: It really depends because getting divorced can take a long time. People can have filed for divorce and it can take years, and a lot of people separate with the intention of never getting back together but there are other legal complications.
Im more concerned about the emotional separation and the emotional divorce than the legal document requiring a signature.
[From video of the Steve Harvey Show via E! Online]
After that Steve said he was an expert at divorce. (He is, he?s also a serial cheater who royally screwed his first wife.) Tamar said that some guys end up in a ?cheaper to keep her? situation and string the other woman along, which is definitely true. A lot of men claim to be separated when they?re still with their wives. We?ve seen this with celebrity women getting bamboozled by married men whose wives end up talking to the press. I?m thinking of Paula Patton and Mel B recently and I?m sure there are more. It?s messy and soul-sucking to get drawn in by charismatic men who are bullsh-tters and liars. If a guy claims his wife doesn?t understand him and/or is constantly complaining about how crazy an ex is, that?s a red flag regardless of their status. (I?ve actually had this happen on a first date.)
There?s also the stereotype of women relishing freedom after a separation and men going out and getting another girlfriend as soon as possible. Steve said this, that ?I?m going to get over you with another you. Men don?t have to go nowhere up in the mountains and find theyself after we break up.? Steve always has jumpoffs and sidepieces so it?s not like he waits until after a breakup.
I like Brooke?s answer, that it really depends on the situation. You also have to trust your instincts and throughly vet someone. It?s hard to date and to trust people in your 40s. It takes work and when you do find someone you can vacillate between being too naive and waiting for the other shoe to drop. You have to keep perspective.

| Kate Winslet is 'sort of uncomfortable' when women wear 'show-off clothes' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

While I love to talk sh-t about fashion, I do believe in this fundamental truth: do your own thing. Let other people do their own things. If a person is not hurting anyone and they?re not being crazy-offensive, just let them do their own thing, for the love of God. I fundamentally don?t understand the body-shamers and concern-trollers, etc. I mean, I?m a judgy bitch too I love to judge what people are wearing. But if someone feels great in a dress, that shows. If you can tell that a woman is really feeling herself in a particular look, that affects my opinion of the look too. Plus, discussions about fashion are discussions about female autonomy, and they are discussions about the choices a woman makes for herself and her body and what she will ?show? and what she won?t. But for Kate Winslet, she?d like to start a movement where women are encouraged to cover up more, because she believes it?s? like, tacky, for women to want to be looked at?
Oscar-winner Kate Winslet is regarded as one of Hollywoods most elegant adornments, never failing to display her old-school glamour on the red carpet. Now the 42-year-old, admits shes concerned women reveal too much flesh in a bid for attention.
Theres something sort of uncomfortable to me about seeing women who are clearly presenting themselves in a way thats designed to make people stare, but not for the right reasons, warns Winslet. When I walk into a room, I hope to have interesting conversations with people; Im not interested in whether people look at me or not. In fact, quite the opposite. If I have to come to an event, its always nice to feel a bit pulled together, but nothing that draws too much attention. My mother always said, I dont like show-offs, please dont wear any show-off clothes. Even when I became the me post-Titanic, she would still say, Please, darling, dont wear anything that draws too much attention.
[From The Daily Mail]
?Theres something sort of uncomfortable to me about seeing women who are clearly presenting themselves in a way thats designed to make people stare, but not for the right reasons?? Y?all make fun of Emily Ratajkowski, but how is it that Emily has it right and Winslet has it wrong? Women can dress how they want. Some women like to dress sexy, and some don?t. Both are personal choices. Some women like to be looked at and some don?t. Both are personal choices. No one should ?cover up? or avoid ?showing off? just because Winslet or anyone else is a moralistic pearl-clutcher. When did Kate Winslet turn into Mike Pence? And now I have a vision of Kate referring to Ned RockNRoll as ?Father? while she models her ?buttons are proud? Amish gear.

| Kristin Cavallari won't put her kids on her show, claims to not 'really show' them on IG | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?d completely forgotten that Kristin Cavallari and husband Jay Cutler sold a realty show called Very Cavallari. I actually kind of like that name, although this world needs another reality show about as much as salamander needs Wellingtons. As Corey reported when the show sold, it?s a more of a Kristin-centric show her new shop, her life in Nashville, how she juggles home and business, etc. Even though the original talk was it was a show for Kristin and Jay, I guess he?s only an addendum, which is fine. I mean, what?s he going to do, teach us how not to complete a pass?
However, since the beginning, Kristin has made it clear that her children would barely be featured on the show. And according to her latest interview with Giuliana Rancic, that is still the plan because she believes they should get to make that choice on their own.
Kristin Cavallari is returning to reality TV with her new show Very Cavallari. However, you wont see her three kids?Camden, Jaxon and Saylor?appear on the show.
The Laguna Beach star explained the reasoning behind the decision while walking the red carpet at NBCUniversal Upfront 2018.
I dont even really show my kids on social media, The Hills star told E! News Giuliana Rancic. Theyre 5, 4 and 2. When theyre old enough to make that decision, thats one thing. For right now, I just want to keep them kids.
However, fans will get to see Cavallaris husband Jay Cutler on the show. Although, she said their relationship isnt driving the show. Viewers will also get to see Cavallari as a best friend, an entrepreneur and a star on E!.
Its really everything in my life, she said. The beauty about this show for me is its not solely based on my relationship with Jay. Thats not whats driving the show. Its about my 24-year-old staff. You know, Im relying on them to bring the heavy drama. So, its the best of both worlds for me.
[From E!]
Kristin does post pics of her kids on her social media a lot but not full-face photos. Mostly, they are photographed from behind. This famously led to Kristin being accused of starving her children when a group of people decided to over-analyze her childrens backs in swim trunks. I?m curious how they will avoid showing the kids since her being a mother is part of the tagline for the show. And one thing I know about children that age is that if you tell them, ?Listen honey, do NOT turn around and definitely don?t look into the camera,? that will be their very next move. But, as she said, she thinks the kids should be allowed to choose whether to go public or not when they are old enough to decide that. I think that?s a very smart choice on her part and I applaud it. Especially since it shows a healthy evolution from when she was offering fans a photo of baby Jaxon if they bought her app.
I?m also interested in Kristin?s comment, ?its about my 24-year-old staff. You know, Im relying on them to bring the heavy drama.? I couldn?t figure out what she was referring to until I saw the trailer that?s posted below. Kristin hired a bunch of, I assume 24-year-olds, to launch and run her shop, Uncommon James. The trailer would have us believe the opening is a disaster and everything is going up in flames. And maybe it is, because that?s what happens when you hire a bunch of girls who look (and sound) exactly like you based on their age and not experience.
Here is the trailer for Very Cavallari. Man, Jay does not look like he wants to be doing this.

| Angelina Jolie's dermatologist speaks about Jolie's skincare, menopause | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ve been an Angelina Jolie fan for so long, I remember when her skin wasn?t that great. It was in 1990s, when she was breezing by on ?being in her early 20s? and not really taking care of herself. But at some point, she went clean and started taking better care of herself. Her skin improved drastically. I also remember when she had a lovely tan most of the time, but in her mid-30s and beyond, she?s gone all-in with being as pale as possible. Anyway, Angelina revealed the name of her dermatologist in a recent interview, and now she?s given her dermy permission to speak about her (Jolie?s) skin care over the years. The dermatologist?s name is Rhonda Rand, and I actually found this interview rather fascinating. You can read the full piece here at Refinery29. Some highlights:
Rand says Jolie keeps it simple & natural: When [Jolie] knew she was going to have an acting career, she wanted to take care of her skin in the most sensible way. She?s lucky she has her mom?s beautiful, olive skin. She?s always been such a natural beauty, so she didn?t ever have to do much. It was really just sunscreen, proper cleansing with a mild, gentle cleanser, antioxidants, sometimes glycolic [acids], and natural products. Some alpha hydroxy [acids] are good too, and they?re very natural. She doesn?t need major scrubs or products with lots of chemicals.
Jolie doesn?t wear a lot of makeup: The thing about [Jolie] is she never wears makeup unless she?s working ? it?s probably another reason her skin looks good. She?s also good about removing makeup. I know her makeup artist is super careful about what she puts on her skin and takes good care of it when shes working.
She wears sunscreen: She?s olive skinned like her mom, but it?s not like she lets herself get dark. She?s been so good about using sunscreen from such an early age to protect her skin. She knew that the sun is not good for skin in general ? in terms of pigmentation problems and that sort of thing. She?s also good about wearing hats, which is so important. She hydrates a lot and does a lot of good moisturizing, but again, it?s the sun protection that?s going to stop you from aging more than anything.
What Jolie does get done: I basically try not to do too much. There?s a light laser resurfacing we like to use sometimes, but just once in a while. It?s used to improve your skin and give it a little bit of a glow, but it?s a little more than a facial. When she was pregnant, she got a little pigmentation. And sometimes, when she?s in very sunny climates working, she can get some pigmentation, too. We can help take care of that with a photofacial or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). We?re super careful. None of these things change the quality of your skin or cause scarring. She doesnt have any kind of a plastic look because [she] doesn?t do anything drastic ? she doesn?t need it. She has really good genes and gets more and more beautiful with time.
How early menopause affected her skin: Every woman goes through menopause, some women do at 48, some at 53. Yes it?s true that Angelina experienced forced menopause a little bit earlier. But if you take care of your skin, it?s going to look so much better. Even through the menopause changes, as long as you moisturize and use some good, quality products like antioxidants, alphy hydroxys, or maybe retinol ? those things are all great for your skin.
[From Refinery29]
Rand wasn?t asked or perhaps she declined to answer any questions about whether Jolie gets a little something extra in the way of Botox or any kind of injectible. Rand would be the person to ask, right? Or do Hollywood women go to someone different for their Botox needs? There have been moments where I?ve thought Angelina was getting a little something extra done, just a ?sprinkle? of Botox on her forehead, anything like that. But whatever she does, she doesn?t overdo it and she?s not wandering around with a Muppet-face.
Also: I do think Angelina goes without makeup a lot. She?s never been big on ?needing to be made up? or anything. And speaking as someone who stopped wearing makeup long ago? it does improve your skin. My skin got so much better when I broke the cycle of wearing makeup to cover breakouts.
