Bringing her effortless Hollywood glamor center stage, Salma Hayek arrived to the Opening Ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival alongside husband Francois-Henri Pinault earlier today (May 11).
The Mexican-born actress modeled her famously-fabulous figure for the cameras, wearing a showstopping, flowing, silver strapless gown while also joined by Antonio Banderas and his lady, Melanie Griffith.
Salma and Antonio took the event by storm earlier in the morning, arriving at a photocall for their upcoming animated picture "Puss in Boots" by water in a giant pair of floating black boots.
Hayek, who voices Kitty Softpaws in the "Shrek" spin-off, revealed the reason for taking the role while chatting with ET, telling, "I have a child now, so I was very tickled by the idea of me being in one of those movies that she watches thousands of times. ? It's very exciting to get rid of your body and just work with your voice."

Keeping up on her gorgeousness, Kim Kardashian was spotted heading into Piny salon in Beverly Hills, CA on Wednesday morning (May 11).

Lindsay Lohan plead no contest Wednesday to stealing a $2,500 necklace and abandoned her appeal in her DUI probation case. Lindsay is still required to serve 120 days in jail for her probation violation, but she will not have to serve additional time for the theft. Instead, she will be on three years probation.
Not only will she not get additional time, but the Sheriff’s Department may allow Lindsay to serve the 120 days at home with an electronic monitoring device. The 120 days will most likely be cut down to 14. During that time, Lindsay can’t leave her home even to do community service. In addition, Lindsay must complete psychological counseling and a shoplifters alternative class.
Once the 480 hours of community service is finished, her probation in the DUI case will terminate.
Interestingly enough, while Judge Stephanie Sautner doesn’t believe Lindsay’s problem is substance abuse, the L.A. County Probation Department believes “substance abuse is the root of the defendant’s problems,” citing that Lindsay failed an alcohol test a month after leaving the Betty Ford Clinic. Sautner says Lindsay is self-medicating for more deeply rooted issues.
Whatever. It doesn’t matter. You can give Lindsay a drug test every day but it won’t do anything. She already knows she can beat the system. Who else can have a 120 day jail sentence turned into 2 weeks of living at home? You’ll have more luck finding a leprechaun’s pot of gold than getting a celebrity in LA to serve a jail sentence.

It?s one of the most beloved events in the movie industry, and earlier today the 64th Cannes International Film Festival got underway.
The Opening Ceremony was nothing short of fabulous, with stars from all over the globe converging on the Palais des Festivals.
?Cape Fear? actor/Cannes juror Robert De Niro looked dapper in a black tuxedo as he chatted with fellow attendees.
Also in the house were jurors Uma Thurman and Jude Law, as well as super hot model Karolina Kurkova.

Taylor Swift appears on today?s Ellen, probably to promote her new singles (or whatever, I don?t care), and Ellen got her to talk about boys, of course. Taylor Swifty has a new single, “The Story Of Us,” which means she’s back on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”! This time, Taylor stopped by to chat with Ellen for the show airing Wednesday, and they chatted about all those photos taken of Taylor strolling with people like Jake Gyllenhaal and Garrett Hedlund.
Turns out, Taylor doesn’t mind the paparazzi catching her in private moments. At least, not enough to complain about it. “I think it’s just obnoxious if I complain about anything,” she says. “I hear people talk about like, ‘oh, the intrusions on my privacy!’ It’s like, there are a million other jobs you could have had.”
She’s also not down with dating guys who want to keep her a secret — at least, not since Joe Jonas denied their relationship (and denied it, and denied it). “I’ve just come to an acceptance of the fact, this is my life. If somebody wants to hide a relationship or has privacy issues then we don’t have the same viewpoint. For me, it’s just like live your life. If people happen to take picture then you know, you laugh about it in the car afterwards.”

Page Six best describes Will Smith’s trailer currently parked in SoHo as a double-decker mobile mansion. You may think Page Six may be exaggerating but they’re actually underplaying it.
That’s because the specially designed ride nicknamed “The Heat” includes a lounge with a bar, a movie room with a 100-inch screen, marble floors, offices for 30 people including assistants and writing staff, a large bedroom and all-granite bathroom. It’s 53 feet long, has 22 wheels and weights around 30 tons. It’s also annoying the residents. They say it’s an eyesore and that the gas smell that comes from it is horrid. Hm, smells more like jealousy to me.
“It looks bigger than my apartment!” said Brigette Moreno, 22, who lives above where the trailer was docked yesterday.
“The smell that comes along with it is disgusting. It’s like living in a gas station. I really like Will Smith, but I would be embarrassed if that was my trailer. A little modesty goes a long way.”
And shop owners say the monstrosity is burning a hole in their bottom lines.
“This is killing our business,” moaned Anessa Rahman, the co-owner of nearby Greene Street Antiques.
She said that since the trailer arrived, her business has been a shadow of its usual self.
“We’ve been calling 311, to no avail,” she sighed.
Note that Will Smith is renting a luxury apartment nearby. It’s a five bedroom, 6.5 bath, $25,000 per month apartment. Oh but it’s a mile away which is, like, an eternity in New York time. Almost 20 minutes walking! The whole point of being a celebrity is you don’t have to be a normal person. I mean, what’s the point of being rich and famous if you can’t shove your money in people’s faces?

Well, you bitches have been clamoring for an open post about Linnocent cracked-out hearing today, so here you go. TMZ is still claiming that Linnocent could just end up with house arrest, and that it won?t be anything like the 120 days she was sentenced to initially. But, of course, TMZ?s sources seem to be Mother Crackhead and a bottle of gin, because Radar has another assessment on Linnocent?s sentence:
Is Lindsay Lohan receiving special treatment from the justice system? Nope, not according to the Los Angeles City Attorney. Carmen Trutanich, the L.A. City Attorney head honcho, told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the Mean Girls star, 24, is being treated like any other criminal in the system.
“Ms. Lohan isn’t being cut any special deals,” he said. “When our office got the case last week, it went through the ordinary channels, and the case was assigned to a regular deputy from our office. Everyone gets the same justice in our office, period.”
Judge Stephanie Sautner is expected to decide that Lindsay can serve her 120-day jail sentence at home wearing an ankle monitor.
Trutanich explained that his responsibility has been covered. “Our office has done our job. We will cooperate with the Sheriff’s Department in whatever needs to occur regarding Ms. Lohan.”
Lohan is eligible to wear the ankle monitor because she is considered a low risk offender, and the Los Angeles County jails are notoriously overcrowded.
It’s expected that Lindsay will only have to serve about 14-16 days because women sentenced to similar sentences serve about 25% of the actual time.
The City Attorney has praise for Judge Stephanie Sautner’s decision to reduce the felony grand theft charge to a misdemeanor, “I think Judge Sautner knew what she was doing. Judge Sautner evaluated the evidence and made a thoughtful and informed decision.”
Lohan isn’t expected to be in court Wednesday when her powerhouse attorney, Shawn Holley, formally enters the no-contest plea at the LAX Airport Courthouse at around 10:00 am, PST.

I still want to know if the house arrest/ankle monitor scenario will include a true SCRAM anklet so that Linnocent?s vodka and crack intake can be monitored. We?ll see. At the Cannes jury photocall, Uma Thurman showed up in a rather stunning, figure-flattering white Dolce & Gabbana dress with which I was initially quite taken, but then I noticed the eyelet detailing. Actually, the sleeve details are pretty okay and not a deal breaker, but then there’s the awful matter of the flowery eyelet pattern in the boob area, which looks very out of place and sort of kills the entire dress up close.
Still and as a former model, Uma knows how to work a less than perfect outfit, and the dress really flatters her from a few feet away.
Other jurors in attendanced included Jude Law and Robert DeNiro. Kaiser, CB, and I are sort of wondering how long Jude will take to get someone pregnant in the coat room at one of Canne’s many notorious parties.
Also, the everchanging hair line of Jude must certainly ebb and flow whenever he’s getting some action. Is it possible to remove one’s hair plugs?
At present, Jude’s hair would indicate that he hasn’t gotten laid yet since landing at the airport. However, there are still several days of the festival left to endure, and Jude won’t be alone for long.

Woody is there to promote his latest movie, Midnight in Paris, and these are some pics from the photo call. In my humble opinion, Rachel stole the show in this Maxime Simoens dress with floral appliqus. While the dress is kind of bridesmaid-y and bridal in general, Rachel looks stunning. She?s just? so pretty it hurts. I?m not a huge fan of her as a blonde, but this current blonde she?s working isn?t so bad. Not bad at all.

During a recent interview, Penelope confessed that the hardest thing about making the movie was keeping her composure around Depp.
"[It was a challenge] to keep a straight face sometimes with Johnny in some of the more dramatic scenes. I would look at him doing the things he does as Jack Sparrow, and Rob had to cut so many takes with Johnny or me, because we could not control ourselves. He would provoke me and always make me laugh. These are some new photos of Antonio Banderas and Salma ?Carmen Miranda Ain?t Got Nothing On Me? Hayek doing a photo call thing at the Cannes Film Festival today. Both Antonio and Salma are doing voice work for the new Shrek spinoff animated film, Puss in Boots. Can I just say? I?m THRILLED that Puss got a spinoff. He?s hilarious and wonderful, and Antonio?s voice work for the character is lovely. Anyway, Salma and Antonio sat down from some wonderful interviews to promote the film - which is out in November. Here?s a good one:
Getting older in Hollywood and being Hispanic, they are no longer the limitations they once were, say Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek. After all, they wonder, when have Hispanic actors ever landed such big feline roles as the leads in the animated adventure ?Puss in Boots??
?When I started out, Hispanic roles were very limited,? Hayek said Wednesday at the Cannes Film Festival, where she and Banderas joined DreamWorks Animation overseers to show off footage of ?Puss in Boots,? a ?Shrek? spinoff coming this November. ?Roles were very limited. There were one or two kinds of characters you used to do. Now we get to play the cats! It?s OK to be a Hispanic, even if you are a cat.?
?Cats were British, normally,? Banderas added at a question-and-answer session alongside Hayek after the footage screened.
?I feel very proud, actually,? Banderas said of his role in expanding the types of parts open to Hispanic performers. ?I never pretended when I first went to Hollywood to be a guy from Oklahoma. I am what I am. And fortunately, the Spanish community in the United States has grown in the last 22 years that I have been there. There has been an explosion in Hollywood, which is a reflection of the society in which we live.?
After the footage showed, Banderas and Hayek headed to a pier along the Mediterranean beach, where they posed for photos on a giant pair of boots bearing the movie?s title. Banderas reprises his voice role from the last three ?Shrek? films, providing the voice of Puss in Boots, the tiny cat with the big heart, big ideas and bigger ego.
A prequel chronicling Puss? adventures before meeting ogre Shrek, the movie has the cat as an outlaw, looking to pull off a big score. But his scheme is interrupted by another calculating cat, Kitty Softpaws (voiced by Hayek), who is in league with Puss? pal-turned-foe Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis), as they try to swipe the magic beans of the ?Jack and the Beanstalk? fairy tale from beastly bandits Jack and Jill (Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris).
Age is another Hollywood barrier Banderas and Hayek feel they have skirted.
Banderas proudly called out his age, 50, while Hayek, 44, said this is the best time in her career, with four movies in the works this year and the work more enjoyable than ever.
?What makes you feel old is when you are not excited about life. You are not excited anymore about what you do, and you cannot do it as well,? Hayek said. ?I do feel my body beginning to ? like, I need glasses now when I read my scripts. I wear them, but I?m happy to wear them and happy that I still get to read my scripts. So it?s not been so bad. They scared me. They told me, ?Forget it. At 30, it?s over for you.? And it has not been the case. It feels great to age in Hollywood.?

On the career front, Miss Greene is readying for her new movie "Skateland" to hit theaters this Friday, May 13th.
Set in the 1980's, the picture is about "a 19-year-old skating rink manager who is dealt a dramatic event which makes him look at his life in a very new way."
Recently chatting with MTV about the differences between her "Skateland" character and her "Twilight" role, Ashley dished, "I was really excited, because it was definitely a departure from Alice Cullen. I think it was two years ago, so I'm excited it's finally coming out. I basically read the script, and I was really drawn to the character because Michelle ? she's strong and she's vulnerable, and I feel like you don't get that a lot with female roles in films. She's kind of the headstrong girl in the movie, and she knows what she wants and she's confident and, you know, a no-bull kind of girl."

Dressed in a sexy white frock, the Brazilian supermodel posed for pictures upon arrival as she readied to tend to hosting duties at the Big Apple event.
With the event being held to recognize those making a difference on environmental issues, Gisele's hosting efforts come as she currently serves as the United Nations Environment Program?s Goodwill Ambassador.
Miss Bundchen was joined onstage to dish out commendations by fellow Goodwill Ambassador and actor Don Cheadle, with whom she's teaming up with for other upcoming World Environment Day efforts.

Aside from her Midori doings, Miss Kardashian is also hard at work while designing a new line of handbags for Sears stores.
The 30-year-old wrote earlier this week of the Sears collaborative effort, "Now in a design meeting 4 Sears. We're approving handbags right now! You guys are gonna love!"

With her court hearing looming tomorrow, Lindsay Lohan was dutifully performing her community service in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday (May 10).
The troubled actress took to the downtown Women's Center as she continues to chip away at her hefty 480 hours of court-ordered work.
As for her legal happenings, Lindsay will reportedly not attend her hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning (May 11), with all indications pointing to her lawyer, Shawn Holley, entering a "no contest" plea to misdemeanor theft.
The latest reports from TMZ tell that LiLo may elude jail time due to overcrowding, instead getting as little as 14 days of electronic monitoring for her probation violation/jewelry theft incidences.

A source, better known as Dina Lohan, tells Radar that Lindsay Lohan is taking her mandated community service very seriously unlike some other people who shall remain nameless. Because it’s hard to make up names on the spot. Whatever the case, Lindsay is better than these brutes in every way.
“Staffers didn’t know what to expect, but Lindsay showed up and was thoroughly engaged during the day,” an insider close to the situation tells us.
Lindsay was ordered to perform a staggering 380 hours of community service last month for violating terms of her probation for a 2007 DUI conviction.
“Lindsay was truly humbled,” the source added. “Staffers had her sort through donations and talk to the clients. Lindsay was especially moved by the children of these homeless women.”
“Some people want to get their hours done with as little effort as possible,” the source added. “This doesn’t seem to be the case with Lindsay. The women were initially excited to meet Lindsay because she is a celebrity, but that wore off very quickly and Lindsay has made it clear to everyone that she doesn’t expect nor want any special treatment.”
This sounds like a PR move to make Lindsay look good before her pre-trial hearing on Wednesday. I bet when they asked the source if they were Dina Lohan, the source said, “Yes. [lowers voice] I mean, no. This is… Dar… ren.”

Vin Diesel must have been high as a kite because he told the LA Times that he wouldn’t be surprised if there was Oscar buzz around Fast Five. Please stop laughing. Vin Diesel didn’t seem to be joking.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some Oscar talk around this. I don’t know, maybe I’m just biting off what some guy from Channel 7 thought,” he said with a chuckle. “But sooner or later, people are gonna say, ‘Wait a minute, just because they are for the working class doesn’t mean they’re not great.’”
You know who would be surprised if there was Oscar talk around this? Everybody else in the world. Even Paul Walker told Vin Diesel to put the crack pipe down. Of course, he didn’t say it in those exact words. He probably put it much more eloquently like, “Bro, put the crack pipe down, bro. Bro!”
