| Chloe Sevigny: Having babies in your 30s 'unfortunately ages women' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Chloe Sevigny is 41 years old. Is it wrong to say that she looks her age? Well, with the certain kind of makeup and styling, I think she could look early to mid-30s. But to me, she looks her age, no shade intended. I like that she?s not Botoxed, filler?d, plucked and tucked into oblivion. She?s always had a quirky, avant-garde style which she doesn?t exactly carry the same way after two decades in the spotlight, so that?s throwing things off too. And I believe she?s probably pretty fun, meaning she?s spent years partying, drinking, smoking and probably not taking great care of herself. I bring all of this up because Chloe has a new interview with W Magazine about beauty, aging, skincare and more. W Magazine says Chloe never ages, and Chloe takes the compliment and runs with it? right over a cliff. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
Why she looks ageless: ?I think it?s not having had a baby yet. Because I think the baby wear and tear and stress on your body is part of the reason why people say, ?Why do you still look so young?? I really think that that unfortunately ages women, especially when they have children in their 30?s, not in their 20?s. So I think, first and foremost, it?s that and genetics. And then I?m really into all the things they tell you to do, like moisturizing. I go to Dr. Colbert, who is this fancy dermatologist. I haven?t really gone the Botox route yet, but he does lasers and very expensive facials and stuff like that? I do lots of moisturizing, lots of water. I don?t do a lot of caffeine. But once I hit 40, I feel like things are starting to happen now that aren?t very exciting, and I?m starting to get a little scared.?
Whether she?ll get proactive about anti-aging: ?I don?t know that I?m more proactive. I mean, what do you do? Do you let it happen? Or do you start the preventive measures? It?s kind of terrifying. The under-the-eye thing, there really isn?t much to do for that. I also always slept on my side, and now I?m trying to train myself to sleep on my back for these lines [she gestures at her face] and these lines [neck and dcollet]. And with the pillow height, so it?s more with those kinds of things. I mean you?re in bed for what, seven or eight hours a night. That?s a long time! So I?m trying to shift things like that, which are difficult. But it?s hard after 40. Everyone says that once you hit 40. I mean not only that, it?s sort of different things, like the knees.
Her knees: ?I mean I was asking Dr. Colbert, ?What can you do? I heard Demi Moore had some sort of knee thing.? And he said, ?Oh, don?t be crazy Chlo.? But I?m kind of known for my legs. So it?s kind of a terrifying time, but instead of being scared I?m just trying to enjoy it. Because I have lots of friends in their 50s and they say, ?If you?re like that, it?s only going to get worse.? So just being confident in your 40s. It?s a big mental thing.?
Whether she would go back to having bangs: ?I have. I mean, I?ve had so many hairdos over the years?some good, some bad, some wild, some whatever, some recovering from parts. I don?t think I?m a bangs person. I have to say, I did the show Hit & Miss and I had black hair in it. Going back to blonde was like so hard. We did a bang and this Louise Brooks bob, and all of a sudden all of my outfits looked so great. I feel like when you have a real haircut?especially being a blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl with my texture?I could wear almost anything and it would look cool. But I?m trying to go for something softer now.?
[From W Magazine]
She also goes on at length about perfume, why red carpets suck these days (the photographers are too close & high-def cameras), why sitting in hair & makeup is demoralizing and how she?s still trying to get the perfect ashy blonde. It was actually a really enjoyable (if superficial) read. As for Chloe?s opinion that pregnancy in one?s 30s is why women don?t age well? I always thought that the pregnancy and post-partum hormones made women look better, regardless of age? And I feel like Chloe isn?t aging any better or worse than her contemporaries who have had children. If anything, Chloe just has more time to obsess about her looks? and how she?s known for her legs? Is she really known for her legs?

| Elizabeth Banks will not direct Pitch Perfect 3: 'It was all timing' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The picture above is Elizabeth Banks at the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards in London yesterday. Elizabeth is a real force in Hollywood. She has a successful production company, Brownstone Productions, she has earned critical praise as an actress and her first full-length feature directorial debut, Pitch Perfect 2, grossed over $287 million. But because Elizabeth is so down to earth, I forget how much of a power player she is; she?s just quietly triumphant in the industry.
PP2 was successful enough to get a third swing at bat and Elizabeth?s was signed on to direct again. It was recently announced that PP3 was being pushed back from July 2017 to December 2017 due to a hold up in production. The good news is that hold up is an attempt to get a good story for the third movie. The bad news is now Elizabeth will not be able to direct as it conflicts with her other job of being a mother.
Kids over everything! Elizabeth Banks recently announced she will not returning to direct Pitch Perfect 3, and it?s because the gig interfered with her parenting responsibilities.
Banks discussed her decision to exit her director role at the annual PGA Produced By Conference in Culver City, California . ?It was all timing,? she said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ?We feel obligated to put out the best movie and anyone who has done sequels, this third one is hard to figure out what the story is. We want to give the audience what it wants but not making it repetitive.?
Banks explained that it took longer than she expected to develop the story line, and the delay pushed the release date back from July 2017 to December 2017. ?We have been in development and it took longer than we thought, and I needed to shoot another movie in the summer. If we pushed into fall it bumped up against my parental responsibilities, which made me feel uncomfortable,? she said.
The Hunger Games actress and her husband Max Handelman are parents to Felix, 5, and Magnus, 3. The actress welcomed both children though gestational surrogate, and has been candid about her past struggles to get pregnant.
[From Us Magazine]
Felix is 5 so he is likely starting Kindergarten this fall. If that?s the case, I understand her motivation. I am not militant about structure but I do believe in schedules and my whole world changed when I became bound to a school schedule. Elizabeth has spoken before of how miserable she finds herself when her acting jobs limit the amount of time she gets to spend with her kids. Elizabeth, who is a producer on all three Pitch Perfect films, made the decision; it is not a reflection on her capabilities as a director. She is still directing Red Queen and the Charlie?s Angels reboot in addition to a TV movie called The Greater Good. Plus, she has the role as Rita Repulsa in The Mighty Morphins Power Rangers and her voice work – notably Wyldstyle in The Lego Movie projects. (If you haven?t caught it yet, her character in the series Moonbeam City with Rob Lowe is an absolute riot.)
I give Elizabeth credit not only for doing what?s best for her by giving up the director job, but for doing what is right for the movie and not shoving it out the door with a half-baked story. I loved Pitch Perfect, I liked Pitch Perfect 2 and I have no idea where they would take Pitch Perfect 3. Elizabeth will be back as Gail, which is great because her and John Higgins Clarke?s commentary is one of the best part of both movies.

| Kim Cattrall discusses her battle with chronic insomnia: 'I was in a void' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Like Sex and the City character Samantha, who didn?t get much shut eye because of her rampant bed hopping, Kim Cattrall isn?t getting any sleep, but not for nearly as fun of a reason. The 59-year-old actress recently confessed to Britain?s Radio Times that she has been battling chronic insomnia, which forced her to bow out of a play on London?s West End.
Kim, who said that her condition felt like a ?gorilla sitting on my chest,? was forced to drop out of the play Linda two weeks prior to its premiere back in November of 2015. According to the interview, while rehearsing for the play, she initially thought she was just dealing with “jetlag, too much tea or another stage of menopause.” She later quit the play citing doctor?s advice and was replaced by British actress Noma Dumezweni, who recently made headlines when J.K. Rowling cast her as a grown-up Hermione in the London stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
It turns out Noma has been garnering rave reviews for her role in the play, which deals with a 55-year-old woman coming to grips with working for a young boss and dealing with her husband?s affair. Too bad for Kim, as she could probably have used the career boost. She decided to come clean about her insomnia to let women know that, “I?m not a one-off; there are lots of women like me out there.” Here are some other highlights from the interview:
On why she decided to leave the play: I didn?t understand the debilitating consequence of having no sleep. It becomes a tsunami. I was in a void. I didn?t want to let down the audience, the theatre, playwright or the actors.
On the thoughts helping keep her awake at night: I didn’t go to university. I have no children, and I have no husband…I’m guilt-ridden and I’m alone…I’m pressured by an image others have of me. I’m agitated about getting friggin’ older. I would like to be a woman with a husband, and I’d like to change the way people think about women, being a woman.
On dealing with her critics: I have my own voice on social media, where I can say: “If you?re interested in what really happened, the whole story is more complex than being disease of the week,” than someone saying, “I have this battle.”
On the cognitive behavior therapy she?s using to combat her insomnia:It?s like putting on a pair of sneakers and going into your past to get a new perspective. And I was gentle with myself. So last Christmas wasn?t about friends and relations; it was a monastic experience of trying to delve.
[From US Weekly and USA TODAY]
I can totally relate to this. Insomnia sucks. I do feel for Kim here. Sleep is so important, if you don?t get enough, it can be a real problem. Hopefully the therapy she’s using is helping and she’s able to finally get some rest.
