On January 20, Pamela Anderson married Jon Peters, the legendary producer and noted skeeve. Pamela and Jon had known each other for decades, and they even dated for a brief time many years ago. The wedding seemed sudden for all kinds of reasons, one of them being that no one even knew that Pamela and Jon were seeing each other again, or that they were even close enough to marry at this point. Then, twelve days after their sudden wedding, it was over. They separated and Pamela seemed over it. So what happened? Was January just a completely bonkers month and now that it?s February, Pam was like ?damn, what was I thinking?? And how did it even happen in the first place? Thankfully, Page Six has some interesting gossip:
Pamela Anderson jumped too fast into a marriage with Hollywood producer Jon Peters because she had just returned from a monthlong ?spiritual cleanse? in India, and her ?heart was open, but, in hindsight, too open,? sources exclusively tell Page Six. ?Baywatch? bombshell turned activist Anderson married the ?Star Is Born? producer and former hairdresser at a secret ceremony in Malibu in late January, only to split 12 days later.
But while the couple had dated briefly 30 years ago, Anderson, 52, spent only three days with Peters, 74, during the more recent go-round before they wed, a source says ? and then she immediately regretted their union. The source said, ?Pamela does not operate on the same wavelength as other people. She has a huge heart and she loves big, fast and hard.? They added, ?She came back from her trip and Jon said to her, ?I love you, let?s get married.? So she said, ?OK.??
The source said that immediately after they were married ? after they had spent a day and a half together as husband and wife ? she realized she had ?made a terrible mistake.? The source said that the actress and model found Peters to be overbearing, and too focused on fame, while she now prefers to spend more time out of the celebrity world and focusing on her charities and political and animal advocacy work. The source explained that Anderson felt Peters was ?trying to be too controlling over her.?
?Pamela felt that he was frustrated over how she wanted to maintain her financial independence ? He started to make calls about her career and cast her in a movie he was working on, things she didn?t want,? they said. We?re told that they never filed the formal paperwork for their marriage, so it wasn?t yet legal and therefore very simple to end. Peters didn?t get back to us.

So? they weren?t actually married? If those drunken Vegas weddings count, surely this one counts as well? Is it really that easy to say ?oh we never filed that one form, therefore we aren?t really married and no harm, no foul?? It feels like it could possibly get more complicated for Pam, but whatever. I do think it?s almost a little bit funny that she was with Jon for three days, they got fake-married and then a day later she was like ?good lord, I don?t even LIKE you?!? he sounds super-controlling and all of that, but? that?s why you spend more than three days with a guy before you fake-marry them.

I was a little bit surprised when Jude Law got married again last year. Jude?s personal/romantic life had been a mess for years, and when he started up with Phillipa Coan, I didn?t think they would last she?s 15 years younger than him and not in the Hollywood/London entertainment community. She?s a psychologist! Like, a real professional with a regular day job. I just didn?t think it would last, but it did and they did a lowkey half-elopement at a town hall in England last May. Coan seems to have been a big stabilizing force on Jude, and he seems happier in general. Of course, the man has also fathered five children that we know of. So would he have one more with Phillipa? He says he would:
Jude Law said it would be wonderful to have another child with wife Phillipa Coan. The actor, 47, admitted to the Daily Telegraph that he would absolutely love to have a sixth child with the psychologist, 32. Gushing about the possibility, he said: Of course! Absolutely. Im fortunate to be with someone where Im having more fun than Ive ever had in my life.
Jude shares 23-year-old Rafferty, 19-year-old Iris, and 17-year-old Rudy with his first wife Sadie Frost, Sophia, 10, with Samantha Burke, and four-year-old Ada with Catherine Harding.
Of their relationship, and how they have a stable and healthy, wonderful family existence, he continued: And that involves my kids who are young adults and then the younger ones are just so much joy and so much fun. I love it, so absolutely, why not [have another]? Im very lucky to be involved with someone Im madly in love with. So the idea of having more children would be just wonderful.
He told the publication that he is now a more stable and boring and level-headed person than he has been in the past, so he doesnt feel the need to keep his personal life in the public eye.

Jude is 47 years old now maybe the post-Sadie years were his ?lost years? or some kind of almost-midlife crisis. I certainly thought (at the time) that his thing with Sienna Miller was very midlife-crisis-y, and then he cheated on her with the nanny, and then he kept getting women pregnant, and on and on. That was basically a 12-year stretch. Did his work suffer during that time? It didn?t really he?s always worked a lot (gotta support all those kids) and he?s always had a lot of variety in the projects he?s chosen. It?s kind of cool that the beautiful young man turned into an attractive character actor, right? Anyway, he probably will have another kid with his wife. And maybe he?s just that kind of guy he wanted to have a lot of kids. Sigh?

Carey Mulligan was at the Sundance Film Festival to promote Promising Young Woman, a revenge-fantasy film about a woman who ?traps? men into committing crimes on her body and then she gets her revenge on them? somehow. The trailer is a bit vague about that, but it looks like an interesting movie, and it was directed by a woman, Emerald Fennell. Carey chatted with Variety about her move to work with more female directors, and the state of Oscars So Bro, meaning? no women directors nominated for Oscars.
Carey Mulligan has made a conscious decision in recent years to collaborate with female directors, from Sarah Gavron (?Suffragette?) to Dee Rees (?Mudbound?). On Saturday night at the Sundance Film Festival, she?ll unveil ?Promising Young Woman,? a thriller written and directed by Emerald Fennell, about a heroine out for revenge after experiencing a traumatic abuse.
?I?d never read anything like it,? Mulligan said during an interview at the Variety Studio at Sundance. ?Reading it for the first time, sort of made me nervous in a really good way, in a way that makes me excited to be part of something.?
Fennell served as the showrunner for the second season of ?Killing Eve,? and she?s making her debut as a movie director with ?Promising Young Woman.? Mulligan was then asked about this year?s Academy Awards, which once again nominated five men in the best director category despite a banner year for films made by women.
?I don?t think you can watch those films and not think they deserve recognition,? Mulligan said. ?I think they need to be watched. I wonder if the system works in terms of getting sent 100 screeners. Maybe you shouldn?t be allowed to vote unless you can prove you?ve seen every single one. There should be a test. The films that did get left out are indisputably brilliant.?
Mulligan elaborated: ?I?m talking about ?Hustlers,? ?Little Women? and ?The Farewell.? I feel like the fact that they are getting made is progress. But it?s all baby steps.?

This is an argument made by Stephen King as well, that there?s no way to know if Oscar voters are actually watching all of the screeners or going to all of the screenings. As we saw a few months ago, there were significant complaints from producers that few Oscar voters (if any) were going to the Academy and HFPA screenings of Little Woman and Queen & Slim. So how can the nomination and voting process be ?fair? if voters don?t even WATCH films starring women, directed by women, or telling stories with any kind of female narrative? Probably the same way those same bros vote in elections they just pretend women don?t exist and vote for the most toxic bro. See: Smallhands, Donny.

Last November, we became obsessed with the fact that Keanu Reeves has an age-appropriate, silver-haired artist girlfriend named Alexandra Grant. It was one of the my favorite stories of 2019, honestly. Alexandra and Keanu walked a red carpet together and I called it their ?official debut? as a couple at that point. But it wasn?t true Keanu and Alexandra had been attending events together in a lowkey way for the better part of a year, and some sources claimed that they had actually been dating since the summer of 2017. Now their friend Jennifer Tilly says that it?s true, Grant and Reeves have been together for a couple of years at least.
Jennifer Tilly was shocked when the Internet went crazy over pal Alexandra Grant and Keanue Reeves? relationship, because the actress tells Page Six the couple have actually been dating ?for years.?
?I remember a couple years ago, about a year and a half ago, [Alexandra] said, ?Keanu Reeves is my boyfriend? and I?m like, ?Wait. What? What? What??? Tilly, 61, said the American Heart Association?s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection on Wednesday night. ?She was so cool I thought she was a lesbian.?
In November, Reeves, 55, and Grant, 46, were seen holding hands at the Lacma Art + Film Gala, and instantly sparked romance rumors. ?It?s really astonishing to me how in the last five months, all of a sudden, she goes to an event with him and everybody goes insane, like, ?It?s his new girlfriend,? because she had gone to a lot of events with him,? Tilly said. ?It?s just suddenly surfaced that he?s been dating her for several years.?
The ?Child?s Play? star, who met Grant at a dinner party years ago, raved that the ?brilliant artist? is perfect for Reeves because they are both ?low key.?
?I saw him at her last art opening, and he?s not, like, wanting the spotlight, because he?s a really low-key guy, too, and I think why everybody went crazy is that they?re sort of the perfect couple,? Tilly said. ?I think everybody wishes that they had something like that. It?s not a razzle, dazzle Hollywood romance.?
The actress shared that Grant ? who is still a bit of a mystery to the public ? is a ?cool, elegant woman ? very quiet, very low-key. [Keanu] is a really great guy, too, but he?s really lucky.? When asked whether she thinks her pals will tie the knot someday, Tilly responded, ?I don?t know that doesn?t seem very hip and bohemian, does it? They?re artists. They?re just going to do what they do.?

I think that?s really cool too it?s kind of clear to me that SO many people in the industry respect the hell out of Keanu and they aren?t trying to gossip about him to Us Weekly or whatever. Alexandra must inspire a similar kind of discretion, although she?s friends with Jennifer Tilly who just spilled her guts to Page Six, but whatever! The point is that Alexandra and Keanu have been happening for a while and people only recently found out about it and it?s fine. And I don?t think they?ll get married either. They?ll just live together and create ART.
