Jennifer Aniston will never stop getting asked about relationships. Apparently she?s the go-to celeb for all personal problems not aimed at Dr. Phil. You wouldn?t even know she?s in films or has anything else going on in her life ? aside from dating ? from the way most reporters focus on her relationship revelations. And she?s got a few realistic ones ? like admitting she doesn?t think it?s fair to place forever expectations on love. And she seems damn happy with what she?s got right now.
Newly 40, Jennifer Aniston is feeling very fortunate these days. In fact, she tells the U.K.’s Mail on Sunday’s You magazine that this is “the best moment of my life. I’ve never felt better physically or professionally. I am a very lucky woman.”
Part of the reason may be that she’s living in the now and not expecting perfection in anything ? including relationships. “I don’t have one and I don’t think it exists,” says Aniston of a perfect pairing.
“Whoever said that every relationship has to last forever? That’s hoping for too much,” adds Aniston, who has been dating John Mayer for a year. “I think every relationship is a world unto itself.”
Still, Aniston confessed to the paper that she’s a romantic. “It’s a shame that people stop being romantic out of laziness,” she says. “And communication is vital. People often expect their partner to read their minds and when that doesn’t happen, they get upset, then the other person gets even more upset, and it is all because they didn’t talk it over at the beginning.”

I?m going to start more articles by listing the person?s age, with the vague hint that it?s something they should be ashamed of. How dare you have the audacity to turn 40 Jennifer Aniston! I know that?s not what People actually said, but considering how often stories mention it, you?d think it were some sort of insult about her.
Jennifer?s relationship thoughts don?t sound like bullshit to me ? in fact it perfectly explains her dating pattern. She?s not expecting every pairing will go on forever ? marriage very possibly isn?t her ultimate goal. The horror! To think a woman could possibly focus on anything else in her life? and be 40? what an utter tragedy. (It?s a shame I have to say it for those who tend to miss such things; but please note the heavy tone of sarcasm).
Jennifer strikes me as someone who will probably go from pair-bonded relationship to pair-bonded relationship. Everyone?s got their own way of doing things, and hers is as acceptable as any. I?m never going to be a John Mayer fan, but it isn?t because he won?t marry Jennifer Aniston. And from her account, it doesn?t sound like that?s what she?s looking for.

Unfortunately, I was drunk most of the ’90’s, so I don’t remember those times. Legend says it was glorious.

Imagine filming a sex scene with Clive Owen. You just squealed, didn?t you? Clive and Julia Roberts have some sexy, naughty scenes in their new film Duplicity. Both have been hitting the publicity rounds pretty hard to sell the movie, so it?s surprising that we?re just now getting around to hearing Clive talk about the dirty stuff.
Clive talked to someone at the Los Angeles Times gossip blog ?The Dish Rag?. He claims that it?s a myth that actors get drunk together before shooting the naughty scenes, though I?ve heard many actors say that they needed a glass of wine or a shot of tequila before disrobing and grinding on camera. But not Clive! He does it the old-fashioned way: sober and British (he probably closes his eyes and ?thinks of England?). He calls these and any sex scenes ?weird and uncomfortable? but says that he gets through it by having a laugh. And now I?m imagining Clive naked and laughing. Mmm… LAT has more:
Clive Owen has some pretty hot sex scenes with Julia Roberts in “Duplicity.” Try complaining to your wife about that long hard day, huh?
“I’ve learned that you don’t go home after a scene and say uuuhhh, babe, honestly, I’ve had such a tough day. I’ve been in bed with Julia Roberts all day,” Clive tells The Dish Rag at the New York press junket.
And he insists (seriously) that sex scenes are no fun at all. “It’s always awkward and embarrassing doing sex scenes ? whatever anyone tells you,” Clive says. “There are 50 crew members standing in a room and it’s always weird and uncomfortable. The best way, through, is to have a laugh always.”
But Clive says it’s often easier if you’re already comfortable with your costar. “If you’re friends and you like each other and you trust each other, you can sort of just have a laugh and be in it together.”
Maybe all that “champagne” that Clive and Julia drank helped. “It’s movie champagne,” Clive explains. “It all looks real until you taste it and it’s like ginger ale. [laughing] We’ve got five pages of dialogue and we’ve got to do it 25 times; if we were drinking real champagne, we’d be half-cocked.”
Clive admits that his pre-movie workout routine is completely based on whether he has to take his shirt off in the film.
“You read a script that says, ‘He takes his shirt off….’ Let me tell you, you get down to the gym,” he says, laughing. Not that he lets himself turn to mush when he’s not working. “No, I don’t ever let myself go that badly. But it intensifies when you know that you’ve got to get your clothes off in a movie, for sure.”
We’re going to see “Duplicity” just to check out Clive’s shirtless scenes.

Does anyone else get hot and bothered imagining Clive say ?half-cocked?? I realize that a lot of people adore Julia, but I would need a drink if I was spending three months filming a movie with her. But I?d imagine anyone would grate on my nerves after that kind of time.
Both Julia and Clive are really selling Duplicity like it?s a standard romantic comedy, so I don?t know what to tell you. I swear, I?ve read some coverage about the film, and it really sounded like the film was a dialogue-heavy spy story. We?ll see.

News to me because I thought Kelly Clarkson was already pregnant for the past year and a half, but in an interview with USA Today, Clarkson says she has no desire to be a mother.
“I would not be a good mother. I mean, I love being an aunt to my niece and nephew. And I used to want to, like, adopt 10 kids — because I had friends who were adopted, and I thought that was the coolest thing, to be chosen. But again, my job is too selfish.”
Alright, that’s good to know, but what about the baby on the way? Zing!
Although, the real funny thing is, before she even sat down, she started apologizing for her puffy face.
“Do you know what it’s like when you’ve just woken up, and your lips are all huge and your face is swollen?” Clarkson asks. “Every time I talk, I keep licking my lips. They must look monstrous. I must look like a platypus.”
Oh, okay. Kelly must just “wake up” every time people take a picture of her. I think Kelly’s face is actually swollen because of all that chicken cooked in msg she eats every night and the reason she licks her lips every time she talks is because of the fond memories. I’m surprised she didn’t have to break for KFC while talking about this. Such restraint.

Donning a super-short skirt, fishnets and a black wig, Madonna attended a Purim party at her favorite Kabbalah center in NYC, along with her cougar-bait boyfriend Jesus Luz, who dressed up as the Joker. I call cheating - this is a costume party, right? Well, Madonna tries to dress like her daughter every damn day, so how can this be considered a costume? If she’d shown up in an age-appropriate outfit, nobody could have guessed who she was!

Her rumoured new lover, JESUS LUZ, dressed up as the Joker and was accompanied by JESSICA SEINFELD, wife of funnyman JERRY, who wore aPersian princess costume.
The pair held each others’ hands and pretended to be a couple to waiting snappers.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Purim is a holiday celebrating the salvation of the Jews from the wicked Haman, through the leadership of Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai. It usually falls in March. In 2009, Purim begins at sundown on March 9. The carnival-like atmosphere of Purim, wearing of costumes, and bringing gifts of food door-to-door sometimes leads to it being referred to as the “Jewish Mardi Gras” or “Jewish Halloween” by non-Jews. I’m sure that if Madonna is bringing gifts of food door-to-door, they’re strictly organic protein shakes. Spread the gristle!
I’m trying to imagine my 14-year-old daughter’s reaction if I ever showed up to a party dressed like this. She’d probably hide in her room forever. Madonna really needs to deal with the fact that her daughter is the young teenager now, not her. It’s okay, Madge! You look great for 50 - own it! There’s no need to insist on dressing like a little girl anymore. We get it. The question is - do you? For someone who’s spent years studying religion in a quest for self-awareness and enlightenment, Madonna sure seems lacking in both these days.

Remember S Club 7? They were a British co-ed pop group who came out with four number one songs and split in 2003. They had several seasons of a scripted television show (sort of in the vein of the Monkees) that aired on Nickelodeon. I remember watching it as a kid - there was always some silly conflict, and then they would break into song at some point. Great Saturday morning entertainment. Well, Rachel Stevens, one of the members, is getting married and not inviting her band mates to her wedding (she says that she hasn’t talked to them in years). Additionally, she makes fun of people like her ex-bandmate Jo O’Meara, who competed on Big Brother. Unfortunately for Rachel, she was on Strictly Come Dancing (the British equivalent of Dancing with the Stars) and attempts to defend this hypocrisy by saying that it’s a “totally different thing.”
Talking in Star magazine, she said. ‘It’s not because I don’t want them to but because we’re not really in touch any more. Our paths have gone in different directions.
‘It’s a celebration and you know, we just want all our closest friends and families and people we love around us and we can’t wait for the big day.’
She also pokes fun at one of her former bandmates who appeared in Celebrity Big Brother.
The one-time singer said she had turned down numerous offers to appear on reality shows in the past - unlike her former bandmate Jo, who was famously embroiled in the Big Brother race row two years ago.
Instead, she says she chose to star in Strictly Come Dancing because it gave her a chance to learn a new skill.
‘I don’t think Strictly was the same sort of league as those other shows. It’s a totally different thing.
‘For me, it’s not about being a celebrity, it’s about doing something and learning something and challenging yourself.’
Rachel, who finished as runner-up to Tom Chambers in last year’s Strictly, has revealed her frustrations with the band in the past.
Despite launching her career as a 19-year-old, she said of the group: ‘S Club was aimed at a very young audience and everything had to be smiley-happy all the time.’
‘It’s hard to feel that positive every day. I struggled with it. There were times when it was difficult to keep up that facade because I had problems in my life and I didn’t feel remotely happy.’

Oh, washed-up celebrities. Yes, maybe competing on a dancing show (and coming in second) is a little bit more admirable than just having your life filmed and doing stupid challenges (aka Big Brother). But they’re really just two kinds of apples; they’re both the same fruit. Each is in a reality shows featuring celebrities.
The most recent season of Dancing With the Stars features stars like Steve-O, Lil Kim, and Steve Wosiack, all celebrities who may not be A-list but aren’t entirely washed up. But I don’t think any of them would say that the show is anything other than what it is - a celebrity reality show. It irritates me when celebs aren’t able to see the big picture and figure out where they really fit into the scheme of things (see also Lindsay Lohan thinking she’s anything but a party girl).

One of my favorite stars of the 80s, Michael J. Fox, is making a return to television after a long absence. The “Family Ties,” “Back to the Future” and “Spin City” star left the spotlight after he went public with his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 1998. Since then, he’s been keeping busy with voiceover work and the occasional guest starring role, as well as his ongoing work to raise money for Parkinson’s research. This new special will focus on the positive, and is titled “Michael J. Fox: Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.”
The Michael J. Fox special, which airs Thursday, May 7, at 10 p.m., will follow the actor as he looks to spread his positive attitude to others during a time of economic turmoil.
Fox, who first revealed in 1998 that he suffers from Parkinson’s disease, will travel around the world for the special, including the Himalayan nation of Bhutan — described as a “modern-day Shangri La.”
While traveling, Fox will interview both famous and everyday people on how they conjure up optimism and hope.
Vicki Dummer, ABC’s co-head of alternative series, specials and latenight, called the special a “compelling look at the transformational power of optimism.”
In recent years Fox has turned his attention to his foundation, which focuses on Parkinson’s research, and he just wrote the book “Always Looking Up,” which hits bookstores March 31.

Michael J. Fox is just one of those guys you never heard a bad word about - even before his illness. He has been married to actress Tracy Pollan for 20 years, and lives in Vermont with his family. His situation really makes you wonder why bad things happen to good people. Since being diagnosed, Fox has been an outspoken advocate for research for Parkinson’s. I really do hope they find a cure in our lifetime. He is a role model for staying positive in the face of tragedy.

Kelly Clarkson is not sure about kids. Having them, that is. She?s okay with kids in general. The singer claims that she ?would not be a good mother? and that her job is ?too selfish?. I applaud Kelly?s honesty. She also says that she recently went to see He?s Just Not That Into You, and walked out of the theatre happy she was single. US Magazine (via Gossip Rocks) has more:

“Oh, my God, I have no desire,” the American Idol winner, 26, tells USA Today. “I would not be a good mother.?
“I mean, I love being an aunt to my niece and nephew,” she continues. “And I used to want to, like, adopt 10 kids — because I had friends who were adopted, and I thought that was the coolest thing, to be chosen. But…my job is too selfish.”
Clarkson (whose next album, All I Ever Wanted) is currently single — and happy about it.
“I went to see He’s Just Not That Into You the other night, and honestly, you walk away from that movie feeling so glad that you’re single,” she says.
“I went with friends who are my backup singers on the road, and have their own group, and we were like, where do we even meet people when you’re working so much?” she goes on. “I mean, we travel with a bunch of married men! And I love working; I can’t see myself not doing this.”
Although if she met the right person, she would consider saying “I Do.” (A change of heart since a 2007 Elle interview in which she proclaimed she’s “not keen on marriage.”)
“I’m not against it. If I found a guy who could handle my job, that would be cool,” she says. “But I’ve dated a couple of guys who were awesome, and the celebrity part of my life and the traveling part are hard to get around.?
“You never get to see each other, especially if you’re both musicians,” adds Clarkson, who once dated singer/songwriter — and touring partner– Graham Colton. Clarkson also tells the newspaper she hasn’t let fame change her.
“It would be easy for me to go, ‘Whatever, I’ll be a fembot.’ But I have a big fear of change, or negative change, anyway,” she says. “I’m basically the same person I was when I won Idol, or when I was 10.?
“Maybe it sounds cheesy, but in a world that is not normal, my goal is to continue doing what I love and feeling good about it. That’s it.”

I think it?s perfectly normal for a young woman who is still in the first flush of a career to be ambivalent about settling down. It seems that too often young women in the spotlight feel they have to pay lip-service to this idea that all they really want to do is settle down and have babies. I?m not mocking the whole settling down thing, it just seems like some celebrities are just saying it to appease what they think their fanbase wants to hear.
Kelly Clarkson seems really happy with her career, and she?s worked hard for it. She should enjoy it. In a few years, she?ll most likely feel differently about the babies.

Britney Spears is amazing. She?s worked hard for this comeback, y?all, and it?s all working. People are in love with Brit-Brit again, so much so they?ll even forgive her one little ?slip?. And by ?slip?, I mean Britney saying over a live microphone at her Tampa concert ?my p—y was hanging out?. First - a live microphone? They still give Britney a live microphone? Second, I love it, it?s so old-school Britney. Though it wasn?t reported, I?d be willing to bet the original quote was ?my p—y was hanging out, y?all.?
That?s not all the news coming out of Britney?s tour, though. Her father, Jamie, just fired three dancers for ?suspected drug use?. Jamie is adamant about everyone in Britney?s environment being clean, and I applaud him for that. However, the firings are bound to hurt the morale of the tour. The Daily Mail has more:
Britney Spears took a break in the middle of her 44-date world tour by relaxing poolside in Miami with sons Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2. But father Jamie has clamped down on the tour party, firing three dancers for suspected drug use in a bid to keep the star away from temptation.
The mother of two and her entourage chilled out on the latest stop of the Circus tour, before heading for the next show in New York.
…A mellowed Britney looked healthy as she managed to combine a spot of sunbathing with some quality time with her sons who along with their father have joined her on tour. But conditions on the tour are ‘beyond strict’, say sources, as the actions of Britney’s father show. The dancers were caught out by a drug test ordered by Jamie, 55. A drug test clause was reportedly written into the contracts of all the singer’s 50-plus dancers.
A source told The Daily Star: ‘They begged to be given a second chance but were shown the door. Britney and the dancers spent months rehearsing before the tour started and they had become more like family. But the show must go on and such behaviour won?t be tolerated. The remaining dancers have been read the riot act. They have been told that if they know of drugs being used they must come clean or face the boot themselves.’
The next date on her London-bound tour is in New York on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Britney shocked the audience at the show in Tampa after she let her reformed bad girl veneer slip.
During the show, she suffered yet another wardrobe malfunction which went largely unnoticed by the audience, until she said over her microphone, ‘My p**** was hanging out’.
Miming her whole set, except for one song, the singer assumed her microphone would be switched off. But to her surprise, and the audience’s shock, it had been left on - meaning everyone heard the star’s explicit statement.

Despite what she used to say, Nicole Richie wants the world to know that she and boyfriend/baby-daddy Joel Madden have no plans to marry. The couple are parents to 14-month-old Harlow, and they just announced two weeks ago that they have a second child on the way.
This latest interview comes from Vivi magazine, and the quotes are via The List. Though it goes unmentioned, I suspect Nicole is promoting her new jewelry line that just launched a few days ago. Nic?s been wearing some of her designs, and I think they?re kind of ?meh? but I?ve never cared for that 1970s, feathery, Fleetwood Mac style.
Nicole Richie - who has a 14-month old daughter Harlow with Joel Madden, and is currently expecting her second child with the rocker - has no plans to marry.

She said: “I don’t know about the future. I make it a custom not to plan the future. I may plan to and I may not.”
Despite having no plans to walk down the aisle in the near future, Nicole is totally committed to Joel and is keen to praise him. Asked to name the Good Charlotte rocker’s three best qualities, she replied: “Good father! Talented musician! Good personality!”
Nicole is equally as glowing about her daughter, saying she is the most important person in her life. She explained: “Harlow means everything to me. She had a close resemblance to Joel at the time of birth, but she now looks like me because of her green eyes and blonde hair, but she also resembles Joel.”
Although she loves being a mother, Nicole believes it is important to spend some time away from Harlow. She revealed to Vivi magazine: “I wear jeans and a T-shirt and no make-up when I am with my daughter. But I take care of my adult time too. I like to go to restaurants and bars in high-heeled shoes and dresses when I have free time. Because I am still 27 years old, you know?”

According to E! Online, teen mother and former Disney star Jamie Lynn Spears is planning a career as a country singer and has been working on an album for months. This is despite the fact that Jamie Lynn, 17, has almost no professional signing experience. E! notes that Jamie Lynn has mentioned in the past that she’d like to pursue a singing career so perhaps she’s secretly talented or just thinks she is:

While Britney continues on her comeback tour, sources confirm to E! News that her baby sister is hoping to become the next Nashville star.
The younger Spears, who took leave of a burgeoning Hollywood career to relocate to Mississippi to raise daughter Maddie, “has been quietly working on a country album since last fall,” says a source close to the family.
Although Jamie Lynn’s only musical credit to date is warbling the theme song to her defunct Nickelodeon series, Zoey 101 (a tune cowritten by her more pedigreed big sister), that hasn’t stopped Team Spears from “trying to get Jamie Lynn a record deal,” says another insider.
The 17-year-old Spears recently recorded demo tracks in Nashville but has yet to land a label.
Still, the sessions mark the first attempt for Spears to get back into the entertainment game since she and fianc Casey Aldridge welcomed Maddie last June.
While the Spears family declined to comment on Jamie Lynn’s new venture, she did tell the Associated Press in 2002 that crooning was in her future.
“I’ll probably do a lot of acting first, then go to singing,” she said, “but I am going to definitely sing someday. So when I do start singing, buy my album!”

Jamie Lynn has a lot of a options open to her still and if she’s able to sing at least partially well, someone will give her the chance. She definitely has name recognition factor and her album might sell based on that alone. We still don’t know if she can actually sing, but her bigger sister doesn’t have an incredible voice and gets by with lip synced performances and studio magic. Those kind of tricks don’t seem to work across all genres, and country may require some more authentic talent. Hopefully she has the chops for it although I doubt it.

Is Christian Bale out as Batman for the third installment of the new franchise? Well according to The Herald Sun his Terminator Salvation co-star Sam Worthington is being tipped to replace him in the third Batman prequel?
Am I the only one who hadn't heard that Bale was considering not returning as the caped crusader or that they didn't even want to bring him back? One exposed bad day on a set is not a reason to replace someone, especially someone as talented as Christian Bale.
Personally I wonder if Worthington's people leaked this story in order to get some press for their star? He is Australian and the paper that broke it is down under?

Anne Heche was legally divorced from her ex-husband Corey Laffoon last June, but they failed to agree on custody and property issues. Laffoon initially asked for $33,000 a month in child support. He was awarded almost $15,000 a month, but Anne couldn’t pay this due to the actors strike. It was reduced further to $3,700 a month when Anne returned to Los Angeles to live after her ABC show Men in Trees was canceled. Laffoon claimed he was making just $6,000 a year before he quit his job as a videographer to care for Homer.
Two years after they first filed for divorce, a property and custody agreement has been made. Heche will pay Laffoon over a half million dollar settlement and he will also receive 1/2 of their community property.
According to the Los Angeles Superior Court documents:
? The pair will share 50-50 physical and legal custody of son, Homer, 7.
? Heche agreed to pay Laffoon a $515,000 lump sum cash payment. He’ll also get half of all their community property, including more than $700,000 worth of stocks and other assets.
? Heche keeps her multimillion-dollar home in Vancouver, B.C.
? Laffoon waived his right to claim any spousal support.

Anne has been said to be eager to end her marriage once and for all pending the birth of her son with co-star James Tupper. She was reportedly desperate for them both to be divorced by the time their son is born. If Anne is so concerned about social conventions she might have thought about not dating her co-star while they were both still married, and not getting pregnant while they were still divorcing. There have been no reports of his divorce being finalized, but he’s still got a few months. The new baby is due late May-early June.

Mischa Barton has broken up with her boyfriend of 4 months, musician Luke Pritchard, lead singer of the Kooks. While Mischa says there is ‘no bitterness’ in the break up, she did feel the need to blog about it.
I’m sure you guys are all going to hear about it soon enough so I just wanted to tell you what is real first — I broke up with Luke when I got to London. Things just didn’t feel quite right. There was no cheating or anything terrible, the bad just started to outweigh the good and a long distance relationship
is never an easy thing to do.
I hope that the press will show some respect in the near future as we both find it very difficult to deal with a lot of attention or speculation from the media. I think Luke is a great guy, but the type better suited as a friend. We have a surprising amount of mutual friends in England and I don’t regret our time together, I just couldn’t keep it going.
There is no bitterness between us…that I know of (sorry, I had to joke!). If there ever is a case of two people staying friends I’m sure it will be the case with us — our personalities are very good for that.

If only Mischa had blogged about the relationship, we might have been more aware of it and thus more concerned about its demise. That, or actually done some kind of work that kept us vaguely interested in her beyond commenting on her atrocious fashion sense.
If you are confused by Mischa and her career, you aren’t alone. She said that her parents also have no idea what she does for a living:
She says, “My mom and dad are still a bit confused and cautious about what I do.
“My dad is a stockbroker who studied law and economics and his dad was a politician. But I know him and my mom are still very proud of me.”

The Mirror has the most hysterical story about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes planning a camping trip with Suri. It?s fall-off-your-chair funny for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the line about how Katie, ?can’t wait to dive into a tent with her husband.? For some reason every time I read that line (and I?ve been laughing over it for five minutes now), I imagine Katie literally diving into the tent, but sort of the way you might dive onto a Slip ‘n Slide. Because they?ve got to mean that literally ? there?s no way Katie wants to dive into a tent with Tom sexually. They also claim her enthusiasm has a lot to do with his campfire pasta skills. Tom likes to keep it real.
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is all set to camp it up across America. We can reveal that he will be turning his back on luxury hotels and five-star resorts to take wife Katie and daughter Suri on a no-frills trip in the US. And Katie, 30, can’t wait to dive into a tent with her husband - who can cook up a spaghetti storm under the stars.
She said: “We love going camping. Once when we were camping Tom made his pasta carbonara for me. He knows exactly how to do it. A pinch of this, a pinch of that. He has a recipe, but he also kind of improvises by himself. You have to do the egg at a certain time.” He was inspired by the great Brazilian outdoors while he was working down in South America earlier this year but, unsurprisingly, they won’t be travelling completely alone.
An insider told us: “They’ll be accompanied by a friend from the church of Scientology, as Tom never likes to be too far away from his religion. They will also have security camped down the road to keep any unwelcome people at bay.”
Well, the smell of Tom’s carbonara will have people - and wildlife - flocking from miles around… “They are certainly likely to cause a bit of a frenzy,” agreed our source. “But the whole point of them moving away from luxury holidays is to do things as a normal family.’ Suri will be three next month and Tom and Katie want her to experience as much normality as possible.

My family went camping every couple of years growing up, and while we were never roughing it ? there was always a water spigot and a few electrical outlets attached to a pole ? pasta carbonara never made an appearance on our campfire menu. Maybe this is some ?normal family? camping basic I don?t know about. But I?m pretty sure eggs are entirely out for most of us that go camping without a refrigerator.
And unlike Tom and Katie, I never bring my security team with me when I rough it in the wilderness. I like to give them some time off. They?re always all, ?JayBird, OMG, will you be okay?? and they do this ridiculous jay bird call they learned from some PBS Nature program, all panicked about what might happen if I?m left alone. And I have to calm them down and be all, ?Guys, you must chill, you do a good job guarding me from the paparazzi and potential assassins and Scientologists (sometimes one and the same), but you need a vacation too.? So they back off. They?re devoted sons of bitches, I?ll give them that. This is probably what Tom and Katie feel like. I empathize.

In January, news broke that Mariska Hargitay had suffered a partially collapsed lung, and the actress was hospitalized for a week. She went back to work soon after, but there were still rumors that the actress was struggling. Then last week word broke that Hargitay had been experiencing chest pain on the set of ?Law & Order: SVU? and was being re-hospitalized.
The current information is that Mariska is still suffering from some kind of infection, and sources told Star Magazine that she will most likely need surgery, though Mariska?s spokeperson only confirmed that she?s undergoing tests. Her L&O co-star Ice-T (who brilliantly portrays Detective Odafin ?Fin? Tutuola) spoke out about his friend at a recent event, and People Magazine has more:
Law & Order: SVU star Ice-T was surprised to hear that his costar, Mariska Hargitay, was re-hospitalized Tuesday night after she had returned to the set so quickly ? less than a month ? after undergoing surgery in January for a partially collapsed lung.
“When she came back last time it was like nothing ever happened. She’s very resilient. This woman is a hard worker; she works 14 hours a day. I don’t know what you know about episodic drama television, but it’s like a movie that never ends, it’s just one day,” the Grammy-winning rapper and actor, 51, told PEOPLE Thursday at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation event, co-sponsored by LG Mobile Phones.
On the topic of Hargitay, 45, Ice-T cited her desire to downplay any hardships she might be facing. “Mariska is the type of woman that if you walk up and say, ‘How are you?’ She’s almost like a guy and is like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I’m all right.’
“It’s almost as if you insult her. She doesn’t want you to feel sorry for her, she’s like, ‘I’m on my feet.’ ”
In the meantime ? although Ice-T’s been told Hargitay is “doing okay” ? “My personal thought is she just needs to take a little time and rest,” he says. “I mean, it’s a serious thing. You can’t just come right back. You’ll re-injure yourself.”

That?s sweet, right? Like the gangster rapper really cares about his girl Mariska. Ice-T has been on the cast of SVU for more than eight years, and I?ve always believed that out of all of the L&O series, SVU has the best, most cohesive ensemble cast. And I agree whole-heartedly with Ice-T?s recommendation to his girl - Mariska needs to take a break and get well. SVU will still be there when she gets better. In the meantime, they can write around her character like they did when she was pregnant. Prayers to Mariska!
