They?re quite the adorable couple and on Thursday (January 15) Johnny Depp and Amber Heard stepped out together in Los Angeles.
The ?Into the Woods? hunk and his ?Rum Diary? dame headed over to ?Jimmy Kimmel Live? where Depp was slated to promote his new movie ?Mortdecai.? And during his interview, Johnny explained how his 15-year-old daughter Lily Rose tends to help him come up with his quirky characters.
"We played a lot of Barbies, my daughter and I. I used to test characters on her. One day we were playing Barbies, and she just decided to go 'Daddy, just do it normal, how 'bout???
Depp went on to credit Lily Rose with shaping his Willy Wonka and Captain Jack Sparrow personas.

Taking care of some media duties, Kristen Stewart paid a visit to ?Late Night with Seth Meyers? on Thursday evening (January 15).
The ?Snow White and the Huntsman? stunner was in the house to plug her new movie ?Still Alice,? though she ended up discussing her career plans, or lack thereof. Meyers asked Kristen about her future plans, to which she replied, ?After Still Alice? I don?t know. None of your business! I say that very fondly.?
She added, ?I don?t know what I?m doing. I very impulsively go to one thing to the next to the next to the next. So, Twilight blew up, and I still look at it as being something that made me who I am. And in no way am I distancing myself. I?m just trying to do cool stuff.?

| Keira Knightley in Delpozo at the Critics Choice: tragic or cute? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I can totally understand how a pregnant lady might feel sort of barfy and tired and over it, and want to kind of phone it in for an award show like the Critics Choice. But look at Keira Knightley?s whole look! This actually took effort. She actually sat there, getting her hair and makeup done, trying on dresses and deciding that THIS was going to be the best look. Oh, Keira. How the mighty Fashion Girls have fallen! I said at the Golden Globes that it was like Keira?s pregnancy has made her lose her style mojo, and here?s further evidence. This terrible Delpozo gown. What the hell? It?s a bad color, the detailing is cheap, the train is too long and honestly, it doesn?t even look that comfortable for a pregnant girl. It looks like the kind of dress you have to constantly adjust throughout the night. So, is this better or worse than Keira?s Chanel Fail at the Globes?
PS?Benedict Cumberbatch was not there. Keira was representing The Imitation Game with Allen Leech and some other peeps. I will give Keira credit for something: her husband, James Righton, just gets cuter and cuter. She likes her men very pretty.
Also on the menu for bland fashion choices at the Critics Choice, here?s Carmen Ejogo. She?s the British actress playing Coretta Scott King in Selma. She?s GORGEOUS. But this peachy Emilia Wickstead was a mistake. I would have loved to see this beautiful woman in a jewel tone or literally any other color but peach. It seems like a snazzy bridesmaid?s dress and that’s just wrong. As for those pockets? um? no. There are plenty of cool ways to do pockets on formal gowns. This is not one of them.

| Patricia Arquette: 'Thanks to the bloggers' who?ve invented their own career' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here’s Best Supporting Actress winner Patricia Arquette at the Critics Choice Awards with her Boyhood co-stars and the director, Richard Linklater. She’s also shown with her man, artist Eric White. She’s in black Annabelle Harron v-neck gown with flutter sleeves. Boyhood took home so many awards last night. Star Ellar Coltrane was named Best Young Actor, Richard Linklater won for Best Director and of course Boyhood won Best Picture. I had the chance to see the film and I found it so quietly effective. It was touching but never heavy-handed, and it made me realize how the small moments in life can go by so quickly yet add up to so much. It was also a look into a divorced couple’s separate journeys, with the single mom doing most of the heavy lifting and the dad trying to be a part of his children’s lives once he was able.
In his acceptance speech for best picture, Linklater said that he wanted to realistically portray divorce as something that wasn’t necessarily sad but just reality. He said “Once I became a parent I realized that no one was broken, no one failed. This happens to so many people, it’s just life. All these little imperfections that we carry around with us. That’s really just the essence of life itself.” So well said.
Arquette also gave an excellent speech as usual. As you can tell from the title I especially loved how she thanked the bloggers! She said “Thank you all for this honor, the critics, the bloggers, the writers. People who’ve invented their own career since the internet invention, many of them.” Sometimes I tell people my job didn’t exist when I went to college so I felt flattered when she said that. I already love this woman and I’m fully behind her for Best Supporting Actress at The Academy Awards.
Arquette then talked about how this film might be able to help other non-blockbusters get made. She said “People often say about movies ‘audiences don’t want to see that.’ At this point, with small movies, producers, financiers can no longer say ‘audiences don’t want to see that.’ We don’t know what they want to see.” Bravo.
Here’s Arquette’s speech. Presenter Jared Leto saw the contents of the envelope before he announced the winner, he claimed the envelope was already open. Whether it was an accident that he saw the name or not, it was a douche move for him to have admitted that.
And here’s Best Actress in a Comedy winner Jenny Slate in Miu Miu. I really like the detail on the neckline of that gown, it’s incredible. Slate won for Obvious Child and gave a nice thoughtful speech about how the her film “depicts a modern and authentic experience of unplanned pregnancy.” She ended by saying that “activism and creative expression can go together.” I was so impressed by her speech. Here it is:

| Duchess Kate in a $75 Hobbs dress in London: pretty or poorly styled? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Duchess Kate has already done TWO royal events in 2015. Remember this time last year? Kate pretty much went dark for like three months. It was sort of crazy. But she?s got a new American press secretary and I guess he?s convinced her that if she?s going to take off for a month to Mustique and then take off two years for ?maternity leave,? she better get through some events right now. Kate met ?foster carers? in London today at The Fostering Network. You can read more about the event here, plus the new Kensington Royal Twitter has lots of photos and stuff here.
Let?s talk clothes! She wore this brown jacquard dress from Hobbs, which apparently only costs 50 (about $75). I don?t believe this dress was originally intended as maternity wear ? it seems like something that was bought oversized and then tailored to fit Kate?s bump. And you can tell that it?s been altered, especially in the back. In yesterday?s post, I noticed a lot of you were talking about the poor quality on so many of Kate?s alterations. Word. You guys are totally right. Sometimes, the alterations don?t even make sense, like adding a panel of fabric to a jacket so it can be worn as a miniskirt, rather than just investing in the coordinating pants or skirt.
What else? I find it weird that Kate wears coats as dresses (and never takes off those coats, even when she?s inside) and then she goes coat-less when it?s obviously pretty cold during an outdoor meet & greet. I also find it odd that she?s been doing so many dark colors while meeting with children (but hot Pink for the 9/11 Memorial?). And maybe this is just a minor quibble, but I really hate black or navy tights with brown clothes. They make brown tights! She could have easily done a monochromatic look with brown tights and brown heels with this dress, but she went with black tights and black shoes instead. Is this just a Southern thing for me? In the South, that?s a styling rule: don?t style your brown ensemble with black shoes. And we know she has brown shoes too! Tell me: do brown & black combos make anyone else?s eye twitch? Is it just me?

Though her pregnancy prevented her from performing the majority of her royal duties early on, Kate Middleton is making up for lost time this week.
On Friday (January 16) the Duchess of Cambridge kicked off her day with a visit to The Fostering Network in the Islington district of London, highlighting all the good work that goes on at the foster care charity. And of course, Kate looked marvelous in a dark brown Hobbs silk shirt dress that showed off her growing baby bump.
During her visit, Kate had tea and biscuits with social workers, kids and administrators while discussing the massive task of managing 63,000 children who live with 52,500 foster families across the United Kingdom. Fostering Network director Lucy Peake explained, "A visit from The Duchess helps to shine a spotlight on fostering and the need for more foster carers. We are very grateful to her for her interest, and know that the foster carers and care leavers attending our event today are excited to be sharing their experiences and stories with her."

| Angelina Jolie in Versace at the Critics Choice: Hershey's Kiss realness' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It feels like it?s been forever since we?ve had photos of Angelina Jolie on a red carpet. Think about it ? it has been a long time. She had to miss her own premiere (the LA premiere of Unbroken) because of chicken pox. She didn?t go to the Globes or any of the smaller critics? awards. We haven?t seen her on a red carpet since she was in Australia, premiering Unbroken. So here are photos of Angelina Jolie on last night?s carpet for the Critics Choice.
Fierce. Fabulous. Gorgeous. Love it!!! Waving my loonie flag right here. Her silvery dress is Versace, and as someone observed on Twitter last night, she looked like a Hersey?s Kiss. Angelina + chocolate? YES. Call me crazy, but doesn?t it also look like she?s put on a little bit of (much-needed) weight? She looks healthier now than she has in the past several months. Her hair is also darker now ? I?m not sure why, if there?s some epic reason or she just felt like going darker. All in all, a great outing for her. The best we?ve seen from her in a while.
This was maybe the only event where Angelina and Jennifer Aniston were both nominated this year. From what I saw, they didn?t interact at all. Angelina seems to have come alone ? was she sitting with the Selma table? ? but there are photos of her interacting with other people and talking selfies with critics throughout the night. She chatted with Garrett Hedlund, Miyavi, Ethan Hawke, Reese Witherspoon (the enemy of my enemy is my friend, eh?), Eddie Redmayne (he played her son in The Good Shepherd) and David Oyelowo. Of course she lost the Best Director gong to Richard Linklater. I don?t really think she believed she was going to win anything.

| Emily Blunt in red Emilio Pucci at the Critics' Choice: striking or boring' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were my favorite couple at last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards. They were adorable together. When Emily won for Best Actress in an Action Movie, for The Edge of Tomorrow, John ran on to congratulate her from the side of the stage, where he was waiting to present the next award. Emily joked during her acceptance speech that she was so fit during the film that she could bench John. She also said that it was “the greatest thing to not be a damsel in distress in an action movie.” Later in the night, the two of them riffed with host Michael Strahan, with John jumping up in faux outrage after Michael called Emily hot. You just get the feeling that they’re so happy together. I’ve never been a big fan of either but they’re growing on me.
Emily wore this red full length Pucci sequin gown with a keyhole neckline. She often takes calculated risks with her fashion and goes for a kind of thoughtful style rather than a bombshell look. (She’s gorgeous, she just doesn’t overdo it.) This really works, and her Lorraine Schwartz bangles and drop earrings are the perfect complement to the look. Check out this close up of her bracelet. Someone pissed her off but she’s keeping her game face on.
Here are some other attendees last night and we’ll be bringing you more fashion and news from the Critics Choice Awards throughout the morning. First off we have Andrea Riseborough in a green Escada pantsuit. Riseborough co-starred in Birdman along with Michael Keaton and Naomi Watts. When Birdman won for Best Acting Ensemble, Keaton asked her to speak and she was so cute. I thought she was in her mid 20s but it turns out that she’s 33. Her minimal makeup really makes her look younger. I like this oversize pantsuit, it’s quirky and it works. It looks like something Tilda Swinton would have worn if she had deigned to show up.
I’m also including photos of Genesis Rodriguez and Jamie Chung, two actresses from the excellent animated movie Big Hero 6. I didn’t know who they were prior to this but they both look incredible. Genesis is in a blue cutout strapless Reem Acra gown. It’s a little “look at me” but not bad. I much prefer Jamie’s full coverage Yanina Couture dress with the large abstract floral pattern. I usually dislike the sheer skirt over a miniskirt trend but this is incredible.

| Julianne Moore vs Felicity Jones at the Critics Choice: who wore black better? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Julianne Moore won the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress last night. It?s looking more and more like this year is going to be coronation for Julianne, which is awesome. She?s deserving ? she?s been turning in solid-to-excellent work for decades and she?s never won the big prizes before now. As for her look? the gown is Saint Laurent and if we?re judging this against Julianne?s history of wearing somewhat awful clothes, this is a win. If we?re judging this against all of the great looks she could have worn, this is just okay. It fits properly, it doesn?t suck, and she looked pretty. Let?s just call it a win.
A lot of people are talking about Julianne?s acceptance speech and her statement that she?s a ?girly girl.? I think her point was that she doesn?t like the feel that she?s in competition with her fellow Best Actress nominees, that she?d rather these awards be seen as a celebration of all of their performances. But it got sort of convoluted. Also: when she?s mentioning the other nominees, she forgot to mention Marion Cotillard. She made up for it on Twitter later.
Also in black last night? Felicity Jones in Dolce & Gabbana. I don?t know, you guys. Do you like this? I think the bodice part should have been solid, without the sheer panel. She could have done a lot better. I was actually expecting Felicity to kill it this awards season, but so far I?ve been pretty disappointed.

| Reese Witherspoon in Lanvin at the Critics Choice: adorable or awful? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I?ve been enjoying the American Citizen?s awards fashion so far, haven?t you? Reese Witherspoon lost the Best Actress gong at the Critics Choice Awards last night, but I think she?s fine with it. While she campaigned hard for months, I think Reese?s victory was simply getting nominations across the board. Of course she?d like to win, but if you have to lose to someone, I don?t think anyone can complain if that someone is Julianne Moore. So, Reese is just coming to these events to have fun, and her awards styling reflects that. She wore this bright Lanvin with fun, bouncy hair. Is this the best look ever on Reese? Nope. But it?s not bad at all. I think the look would have been more ?polished? if she?d worn her hair up, but given the event, I?m fine with how she styled herself.
Amy Adams in Max Mara. I?m sort of regretting not including Amy in the Angelina Jolie post, because the fabric of their dresses is strikingly similar. I have to say though ? I think Angelina?s pale satin had just enough silver/metallic to be interesting, while Amy?s satin is too nude/beige. I don?t understand Amy?s obsession with pale colors ? whenever she wears bright colors or jewel tones, everyone always talks about how gorgeous she looks. If she wants to phone it in and not think too hard about her look, she should just do black or navy rather than whites, creams and beiges. So? yeah. I don?t like this on her.
Diane Kruger in Naeem Khan. I?ll admit it, I loved this when she was on stage and I could see how it moved. It looked really pretty, and she was one of the few women wearing a bold pattern. But in still photos, I?m not in love with it. It looks like repurposed tablecloth in these photos.

| Taylor Swift & Harry Styles ran into each in LA: dissect their body language! | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

All of the Swiftlunatics are in a tizzy about this, and for the life of me, I cannot understand why. Like, I romanticize Swifty?s relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal and I totally believe that Swifty had a ?meltdown? when she saw him at a Globes party on Sunday, because she has a history of freaking out on Jake at industry parties. But Tay-Tay?s relationship with Harry Styles? I don?t know, I guess I don?t really care. I cared about them when they were together. I cared when he dumped her and she stalked him for a bit. But I actually believe that they?re on somewhat friendly terms these days. So maybe that?s why I?m not seeing the drama in this video. Swifty and a group of friends ran into Harry and some of his friends. Taylor barely acknowledged him?
This was in the lobby of the Sunset Marquis on Wednesday night. Here?s the thing: Swifty is such a bad actress, I totally understand her thought process here. She knows that Harry Styles, her ex-boyfriend, is there. She?s assessed his proximity, which is why she quickly puts her head down and acts like her phone is giving her life. Don?t look up. So focused on the phone. Don?t acknowledge him. Someone is tweeting something very important. Quick glance to see where he is, give him your best angle. These text messages are epic. SO important. Oh, hey, eye contact with my ex. No biggie. Look at friends. Glance back to phone. Glance back at him. And eye-flick that says ??Sup.? Walk away. Middle School Dramz!
That?s just my reading. Harry would have said a proper hello to her if she had done a little more to acknowledge his presence. But hey, we?ve all played that game before, haven?t we?
PS? Is Swifty wearing a Bump-It in these pics?

| Bethenny Frankel plans line of Skinnygirl marijuana that doesn't give the munchies | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

View image | gettyimages.com
Spoilers for the ending of Weeds follow
At the end of Weeds the lead character Nancy, played by Mary Louise Parker, is running a series of pot coffee shops, similar to Starbucks but with marijuana on the menu. The show, which ended in 2012, jumped forward to an unspecified point in the future when marijuana was legalized. That’s what came to mind when I heard that Skinnygirl founder Bethenny Frankel is going to sell pot in the four states where recreational use is legalized. She’s come up with the idea to market a strain of marijuana that doesn’t make people get the munchies. Add some appetite suppressant in there and she won’t be able to keep it in stock.
Bethenny Frankel?s Skinnygirl empire will soon be capable of supplying customers with the chillest night ever. The Real Housewives of New York City star plans to launch her own line of ?Skinnygirl marijuana” in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, where recreational cannabis is legal, sources reveal exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.
?It will be a specially engineered strain of pot designed to not give you the munchies,? an insider close to the Skinnygirl cocktails creator, 44, tells Us. ?She read about how profitable the cannabis industry is and wants to get in on that.?
[From US Weekly]
Bethenny is just the first celebrity to jump on the pot bandwagon. I expect to soon see Goop branded artisanal marijuana hand picked by Guatemalan children. It gives you the feeling that you’re superior in every way and that you achieved it all on your own without any help. (Credit to Kaiser for helping me with that joke.)
Of course Bethenny’s first concern would be that she doesn’t eat more than the 800 calories a day she usually consumes. It’s true that lot of people hate the way they mindlessly eat when they’re stoned. Bethenny’s drink brands have been called watery so it’s not like her pot is going to be excellent, though. She’s using her brand to sell to women in an up and coming market. It’s smart, but it doesn’t mean she’s going to produce quality product. (Not that I would know. I wouldn’t!)

| Jennifer Aniston in a muddy Gucci pantsuit at the Critics Choice: cute or nah? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
It?s a tale as old as time: whenever Jennifer Aniston is having a bad day, or trying to one-up her mortal enemy, she takes her clothes off or exhibits her body in some way. And yesterday was one of Jennifer Aniston?s worst days ever, so obviously she had to get her girls out for the Critics Choice Awards. Aniston brought The Eyebrow Formerly Known As Justin Theroux and she forgot her bra. Can I just say? I?ve always liked Aniston?s body ? I mean, she works hard on it, but beyond that, I?ve always liked that she?s happy with her smaller, perky girls. But I think it?s past time for her to put a bra on her girls. Just sayin?.
As for the suit look in general? it?s Gucci. I don?t know. I?m a fan of great pantsuits on women, really and truly. And since it?s the Critics Choice (a relatively minor affair in the grand scheme of awards shows), I?m actually surprised more ladies didn?t go with suits. But is this the best example of what?s going on in high-fashion pantsuits these days? The color is too muddy (in my opinion) and it makes the whole thing look dated. The length of the jacket and the general cut of the suit makes me think that this was intended for someone tall and leggy, and Jennifer thought she would look tall and leggy in it? but she doesn?t. Anyway? yeah, not really her best effort, in my opinion. It?s not hands-down awful or anything, I just think she could have done a suit look SO MUCH better, because she has in the past.
Jennifer lost the Best Actress Award to Julianne Moore, because that?s just the way it goes, people. Even if Jennifer had been nominated for an Oscar, she still would have been losing everything to Julianne.
PS? I love that Jennifer isn?t pretending to give a crap about pulling her hair back for OSCAR anymore. She didn?t get nominated, thus her hair is back in her face.
