These are some photos of Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart from October, I just never got around to posting them. Jennifer looks completely different with those glasses, right? Right. Anyway, Casper and J.Lo are still together, much to my dismay. But The Woman Who Is Dumb In Love might be growing up a little bit. Maybe. While I still think J.Lo is an idiot for settling for Casper ? or ?Beau? as she calls him ? she seems to actively avoid the wedding/marriage talk. As in, she doesn?t want to marry him. Maybe she sees him as a placeholder boyfriend until someone better comes along? I don?t know. But I do know that I laughed when she told Ellen DeGeneres what she got Casper for Christmas:
On-again, off-again couple Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart are definitely dating, and that’s all there is to it.
“We were down in Miami together for New Years,” Lopez, 46, says in an interview on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Tuesday. “He was working. I didn’t have to work ? I had literally two days off. We were hanging out.”
The singer and actress, whose NBC drama Shades of Blue debuts on Thursday, has been coy about the man in her life, but assures DeGeneres she’s not hiding big plans. After Lopez reveals she gave Smart, 28, a tuxedo for Christmas ? “I’m opening [my concert residency] in Vegas, and I was like, ‘You can wear this on opening night so you look nice,’” she explains ? DeGeneres shares her hilarious theory about the gift.
“Or for the wedding,” the host says. “When is it? Do you know?”
“No ? no wedding,” Lopez replies. “There’s no wedding.”

At this point, I kind of believe her ? or I WANT TO BELIEVE ? about there being ?no wedding.? Please let it be so. Please let Jennifer not need to marry every guy she?s with. As for buying him a tuxedo for Christmas? it?s just funny to me. She?s Pretty Woman-ing him. She buys him clothes and a truck and she styles him like a Ken Doll. That?s what makes her happy ? getting to remake and style some glorified backup dancer she picked up on a music video shoot.

These are photos of Laura Prepon getting papped shopping for fresh vegetables in Venice Beach. As The Daily Mail points out, she’s promoting a 21 day diet “detox” plan called The Stash Plan. The book isn’t out until March, but she seems to be gearing up to promote it in the new year. It’s co-authored by “integrative nutritionist” Elizabeth Troy and is described as “combining the latest in food science with ancient dietary wisdom.”
There’s a lot of pseudo scientific nonsense in the description on Amazon, particularly this sentence “Troy ‘unstuck’ Prepon?s malfunctioning organs and metabolism through targeted eating and stretching that finally allowed her to lose those stubborn pounds and thrive.” You lose weight by eating less calories than you burn, it’s pretty simple, it’s not a matter of “stuck” metabolism or “malfunctioning organs” or eating foods in combination with each other or eliminating specific foods. You can eat more veggies and protein to get more nutrition, but these type of plans that make people rehaul their entire diet aren’t as sustainable as simply eating less and making incremental changes like adding more fruit and vegetables.
As far as a detox goes, it doesn’t sound like a typical juicing or extremely low calorie plan and at least includes actual food. “In The Stash Plan, you?ll learn what to cook and how to create a combinable ‘stash’ of meals?proteins, carbs, and vegetables?and nutritional bone broths to eat throughout the week.” They also tout the fact that the meals can be affordably made. On the up side they’re not selling shakes and/or meal delivery services.
The Daily Mail reports that Prepon eats a gluten free diet, and I couldn’t verify that this Stash diet is gluten free, but I did find an interview with her from earlier this year in which she explained that many people are sensitive to gluten and that she eats organic food because she views “GMOs as toxic to the system.” She added that “With all of the GMO food sprayed with chemicals in the typical American diet and the other environmental toxins everyone has to deal with, our gut flora, intestines and bodies in general are becoming compromised.” There’s little science to back up the notion that GMOs are bad for us, but many people believe it. I do agree that pesticides and a typical American diet can be unhealthy in general. She also said that she follows “Eastern medicine, because I feel that Western medicine treats problems and Eastern medicine prevents problems from happening.”
Prepon is a Scientologist, and I wonder how she reconciles her belief in Eastern medicine with her Scientology belief system, which claims that vitamin cocktails, saunas and expensive auditing can cure what ails you. Maybe this is her way of establishing her independence from the cult, but we’ll see. I would love to see another high level defector like Leah Remini.

For a few years, I?ve gone back and forth on Jennifer Lawrence. If you just read the headlines, she can come across as try-hard, perhaps even annoying. But over the past few months, I?ve read so many interviews with her and I just have to admit: she?s a national treasure. Even at her worst, she?s a treasure. Jennifer covers the new issue of Glamour and the interview is SO funny. You have to get into her self-deprecating rhythm, but once you do, you?ll find yourself giggling in spite of yourself. I actually think J.Law is a throwback to another era, like she?s Carole Lombard or Mae West, and she has a sassy one-liner for nearly every situation. Some highlights from the Glamour interview:
Her Kentucky roots: ?My cousin and I were talking last night about what we wanted to do with our dead bodies. And I?m like, ?I want my ashes scattered on Lake Cumberland.? And when I said it out loud, I was like, ?Wow. You really are still rooted in your redneck [ways]. But basically it?s a certain grit. Everything?s very family oriented. Nobody knows or cares about designers. I care! But I didn?t used to.?
Her style: ?Slutty power lesbian. That is literally what I say to a stylist. [Laughs.] I don?t know if that?s offensive? first of all, Dior is its own house that?s very feminine and beautiful; this past press tour every dress was just phenomenal. So you don?t see me as a slutty power lesbian on the red carpet a lot, because I?m embodying the Dior woman, which is an honor.? But [also] I?ve got t-ts and an ass. And there are things that are made for skinny people?like a lot of embroidery, or it covers a lot?and those make me look fat. I have to show the lumps. If you have boobs, you have to show, like, ?These are boobs. This isn?t cellulite.? Not that there?s anything wrong with that.?
Her wage gap essay: ?The women?s pay gap is a real thing that a lot of people don?t know about. It hasn?t been in our consciousness; it wasn?t in mine. I don?t think it was Sony?s fault. I don?t think it was anybody?s fault. I wanted to open up about how my mentality got in my way? Sony?s a business. You?re not gonna give somebody more money if they don?t ask for it. They?ve got to fit a million movie stars into one movie. They?re trying to realistically make this happen. You know, [after the Lenny essay came out] my agent was like, ?God, I feel like I look like a terrible agent.? Well, no, because you have to do everything I say. And I said, ?Settle.? ?Cause I just wanted to do the movie; it wasn?t about money to me at the time. But all the actors were doing that. None of us were getting our [usual] quotes. But the difference in who was getting a little less, and a lot less, than their quote was very vast. And I wanted to write about how I got in my own way. ?Cause I assume that in negotiating, the men were tough as balls.?
Speaking up about her hacked photos: ?If I was quiet, it would have seemed like I was ashamed. And I wasn?t ashamed; I was enraged. Not once have I felt like I ?learned a lesson.? I didn’t do anything wrong! Even I’ve defended myself by saying I was in a relationship with a wonderful man for five years. But even if I wasn’t, even if I [just] went on a date with a guy?it doesn?t matter what the situation is. It’s your body. And you can do whatever you want.?
The shooting at Planned Parenthood: ?It?s so awful?. It isn?t an attack on abortions; it?s an attack on women. Because Planned Parenthood is so much more [than abortion]. My mom was really religious with me when I was young. She?s not so much anymore. And I wouldn?t have been able to get birth control if it weren?t for Planned P. I wouldn’t have been able to get condoms and birth control and all these things I needed as a normal teenager who was growing up in a Jesus house. And now [gestures widely] I am a successful woman who has not had a pregnancy?But seriously. What harm comes from supplying people with birth control, condoms, Pap smears, and cancer screenings??
She?s not misunderstood: ?I don?t feel like I?m misunderstood. I feel like I?m over-paid-attention-to. I?m not trying to be a GIF. I?m not trying to be a picked-up-on-Twitter quote. All I’m trying to do is act. And I have to promote these movies. And I am, at the end of the day, I guess, a f–king lunatic. So if you record what I?m saying, it?s gonna be goofy. What do I do? What do I do? I’m just a girl, sitting in front of the world and asking them to forgive her for speaking.

She talks about how it?s okay for women to not feel fulfilled by motherhood, she says that Larry David turns her on, she says that she would love nothing more than to be able to go without being photographed for three months, and she would love to be able to stop falling down. I love what she says about the hacked photos, what she says about wage inequality, what she says about Planned Parenthood, all of it. National treasure.

Ever since her MTV gig ?Eye Candy? got canned, Victoria Justice has been in search of a new project worthy of her pedigree.
On Tuesday (January 5) the ?Victorious? vixen was announced as having landed the role of Janet in the forthcoming ?Rocky Horror Picture Show? remake, slated to hit the FOX airwaves during the Fall 2016 season.
Along with Victoria, ?Liv & Maddie? hunk Ryan McCartan will play Brad, Reeve Carney will play Riff Raff, Staz Nair will take on the Rocky duties and Laverne Cox will play Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

When Guy Ritchie and Madonna started to fall apart in 2008, it became clear very quickly that there was no love lost. Both of them played to the media, and Guy ?won.? You can blame sexism, you can say that Guy had a better publicist, you can say that everyone loves it when an important woman fails. Personally, I don?t care. I?m not a huge fan of either of them and I?m not going to act as an apologist for either of them. Guy ended up getting a large settlement from Madonna, and after all was said and done with their divorce, it didn?t seem like they had very much to do with each other. Madonna went on the record several times over the years about how miserable she felt during that marriage and she slammed Guy several times. Guy never really put his name on anything insulting towards her.
Skip ahead seven years and here we are. Madonna and Guy about to engage in yet another battle royale over the custodial arrangement of their 15-year-old son Rocco. From where I?m sitting, it very much seems like a redux of their divorce battle ? both camps (Camp Madge and Camp Guy) are throwing out accusations in the media and salt is being poured into old wounds. Yesterday, TMZ seemed to get a leak from Camp Guy:
Guy Ritchie and 15-year-old Rocco have formed a united front, and plan to wage a custody war against Madonna … sources connected with Guy tell TMZ. Our sources say Rocco has not softened his position … he now wants to live with his dad. We’re told Rocco feels his mom is “too controlling” and doesn’t pay him any real attention. It’s now been a month since he left Madonna’s tour to live with his dad, and he feels more strongly than ever he wants to stay put.
We’re told Rocco, like his dad, feels home life in London is more stable and loving. It’s no longer just that Rocco doesn’t like touring with his mom … he says he just doesn’t want to live with her anymore. We’re told Guy has hired a lawyer to mount a legal fight.
As we reported, our Madonna sources say Guy has gotten in Rocco’s ear and is talking trash about her. The two have had a rocky co-parenting experience, often fighting. A New York judge has ordered Rocco back in the U.S. for a hearing in February.

The Madonna Apologists will say that this is Guy?s consistent M.O. over the years, to paint her as a control-freak who is out-of-touch with her own children, that she?s a workaholic who cares more about her tours than her children. The thing is? I actually believe that she is that person. I?m not saying Guy is a prince of a man, but just because this is coming from Guy?s camp, doesn?t mean it should be dismissed out of hand. Meanwhile, Us Weekly has an ?exclusive? from Madonna?s camp.
“Madonna has been actively doing all she can to get her son Rocco Ritchie home and back to school in New York,” the source tells Us. A U.S. court judge has ruled that both Guy and Rocco must return to the U.S. in order to discuss future custody arrangements. The insider close to the situation further alleges that Ritchie is “interfering” with Rocco’s education. The teen currently attends high school in NYC.
“Rocco, along with Madonna?s other three children, have never been away from her for any extended period of time until daughter Lourdes went away to college last year,” the source continues. “Madonna, who lost her own mother at a very young age, has always made her children?s education a priority along with their well-being.”
According to the insider, this is the longest Rocco has ever been away from Madonna since she and Ritchie divorced after eight years of marriage in November 2008. “The only time the children have not been with Madonna was when her sons Rocco and David visit Ritchie in the U.K. as part of a custody order mutually agreed to eight years ago,” the source tells Us.

Um, they have schools in London? And earlier reporting on Rocco?s education claimed that he attended Lyce Franais in New York, and there are Lyce Franais schools all around the world, even in London (gasp!). I?m just saying? I doubt Guy Ritchie is all ?Rocco never has to go to school again!? And where was Madonna?s concern for Rocco?s education when she was dragging him around the world on her Rebel Heart tour?

Here are some great photos of Kristen Stewart flying solo at a NYC industry-screening of Clouds of Sils Maria. I?ve been hoping that she would do this ? get more involved in the Oscar season hustle, host some industry screenings, lip-bite her way through some industry interviews. And she is! By the way, I think she looks great here. I?m really enjoying her hair length these days, and this Aeta Oceanie suit is the business ? it?s perfect for this event. She looks stylish, professional, pretty and pulled-together.
I?m posting these photos and talking about Clouds of Sils Maria because Kristen has just scored ANOTHER critics award for Best Supporting Actress. She?s already picked up awards from the Boston Critics Association and the New York Critics Circle, not to mention coming in second place at the LA Critics Association Awards, plus a slew of other nominations AND becoming the first American actress to win a Cesar. Now Kristen has picked up the Best Supporting Actress Award from the National Society of Film Critics. It?s not some far-out award either ? the NSFC is a good indicator of what mainstream film critics think. They awarded Spotlight with the Best Picture Award, Charlotte Rampling with Best Actress and Mark Rylance with Best Supporting Actor. Todd Haynes and Tom McCarthy split the Best Director vote and Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor (yay!).
Do I have a point? I don?t know. Kristen keeps winning critics? awards, but she didn?t get a Golden Globe or SAG nomination. I don?t think anyone even considered putting any money into her campaign, so all of these critics? awards are coming out of nowhere. I?m not being facetious when I say this: I really hope she surprises everyone and gets an Oscar nomination. That would be AMAZING.

I really don?t know much about Ashley Benson, one of the stars of Pretty Little Liars. One of my big introductions to Benson was this Canadian magazine interview she did back in May 2015, where she boldly declared that she could never, ever date a high-profile actor like Angelina Jolie has. It struck me (as it struck many commenters) that Benson was saying that she was very much like Angelina Jolie (as in, she was just as famous), but Ashley could never date anyone like Brad Pitt because it would just get too intense, with the fame and everything. It was a funny interview and so my general feeling about her was ?bless her heart.? But Ashley has a new interview and I actually have a pang of genuine sympathy for her now.
She was told she was too fat: ?I was just told I was too fat for a part. I?m a size 2! I cried for 30 minutes, but then you have to let it roll off your shoulders or it could cause a serious eating disorder. A lot of people in this industry hear they need to lose weight more times than they should. It does make you stronger, though. Because if you let that affect you, you can?t be in this industry?you?d go crazy.?
She hates being Photoshopped: ?I saw photos from a shoot of myself just the other day and thought, What the hell? That doesn?t even look like me! I was so disappointed. I hate to think that girls are like, ?She?s so skinny! Her skin is so perfect!? I have pimples just like they do.?
Early stardom: ?I definitely see why some people can go a little nuts. Being successful at such a young age?and I feel I never got to that level, but I?ve seen friends who have?is very difficult because you?re being told yes a thousand times more than you?re being told no. You?re making a lot of money, there are a lot of temptations, and there are no consequences no matter what you?re doing.?
She?s not into the LA scene: ?It?s fun to have drinks with friends, but I would never want to do anything that would sabotage my career. I?d rather have dinner and drinks at someone?s house than go batshit crazy in public. It?s not my scene.?

She was told she was ?too fat?? Stories like that always make me so angry about Hollywood. She?s NOT fat!! Of course, I kind of don?t believe she?s a size 2 either (she looks more like a size 6 to me, which is still NOT FAT in any world). I also wonder if people think she?s ?bigger? because she still has a baby-face. I thought she was maybe 19 or 20 years old, but she?s 26. Anyway, even though she?s a bit eye-rolly and bless-her-hearty, I feel sympathy for her. It?s impressive that she?s been in Hollywood since she was 14 years old and she still has a relatively calm, confident head on her shoulders.

You don’t need to save the last dance, just save the date, as actress Julia Stiles recently announced her engagement to camera assistant Preston J. Cook. The couple met on the set of Julia’s 2015 release Go with Me (don’t worry, I had to Google it myself), co-starring Ray Liotta, Anthony Hopkins and Lochlyn Munro (my personal favorite “Hey! It’s that guy!” from pretty much every comedy in the 90s.) The couple got engaged on Christmas Eve at a private residence in Isla Grande, Colombia.
The 34-year-old actress showed off her ring in a photo on Instagram on Monday with the caption “Best Christmas Ever!” Side note: someone needs to tell Preston that the first three letters of “manicure” are M-A-N. Just saying.
