Kate Moss turns 50 years old in January. I can?t believe it! It never felt like Moss had a bad era or a transition away from a high-paced modeling career. If she still wanted to walk every major runway, all of those designers would gladly hire her. She still fronts multiple ad campaigns and she still does editorial work. But like many Gen-Xers, Kate Moss has gotten into side gigs. She has her own modeling agency, she has an official role as a creative director for Diet Coke, and now she has her own wellness brand, Cosmoss. She recently chatted about all of that with the Times of London. Some highlights:
She?s in bed by 11pm: Today, you can find her tucked up in bed by 11pm at home in the Cotswolds, watching 1990s sitcoms. ?Frasier is my bedtime watch,? she said. ?It just puts me to sleep.? Other nights she ?moonbathes? ? the ayurvedic practice of lying under the light of the moon in order to absorb lunar energy ? or, when the moon is full, ?charges? her crystals. ?I put all my crystals on a tray and put them outside in the garden,? she said. ?Just cleansing the crystal, charging the crystals.?
Her wellness brand: She?s launching her own wellness brand, Cosmoss, selling herbal tea and beauty products that aim to balance ?body and soul with the natural environment and the circadian cycles?.
She still smokes: ?I still smoke occasionally. I?ve heard that when you stop, you can really tell [by your skin]. But I haven?t stopped yet.?
Affirmations: In the mornings she practises transcendental meditation for ten minutes and recites affirmations ? favourites include ?embrace the unknown? and ?trust the universe and it will lead the way? ? as well as doing ashtanga yoga or reformer Pilates. She tried waking up at 4am for a period of time, but ?I was just so exhausted by the time everyone else got up?.
She has a veggie garden: She grows potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic, lettuce and rocket in her vegetable patch, cooking Sunday lunch for her daughter, Lila, 20.
Her 50th birthday: She is in ?denial? about getting older. Her birthday is in January. ?I?m not turning 50. No. I?m not thinking about it. I do not feel 50.? When asked whether she has had any ?tweakments? ? which include injectables such as filler or Botox ? she said: ?No comment. Au naturel. Next [question].?
She?s not into the party life any

For decades, Kate Moss was basically the Sphinx of the modeling world a rare modern celebrity whose close friends didn?t sell her out, and a model who didn?t feel the need to tell everyone her business. Kate has covered millions of magazines, but interviews were always rare. But she?s softened a lot in recent years. She?s still in-demand as a model at the age of 46, but she?s also got side-businesses and she?s happy to promote those side-gigs with an interview here and there. She chatted with Vogue about her new jewelry line, a collaboration with the French jewelry house of Messika. There are 70 pieces all designed (or co-designed) by Moss, based on what she likes to wear. She describes herself as a magpie who loves jewelry in general. I loved this piece. Some highlights:
Her love of jewelry. ?When I was a kid, I always liked antique things. These days I like to mix it all up. I don?t just buy high-end jewelry, I buy little trinkets, bits I like from other people, from antique places? Although, if they are antique, they?re probably still a bit high-end.?
How she came to collaborate on a jewelry line: ?When I met Valrie [Messika, the brand?s founder] on set, we just got on really well. It was very organic.? On one of Messika?s regular trips to London at the beginning of the year, the pair met up for tea, and Moss spontaneously decided to bring along her jewelry box. ?I felt like that was the best way to explain what I like and what my taste is, because it?s quite eclectic. I remember Valrie saying, ?Youre not just pure rock and roll like people think.? I have Art Deco pieces and Victorian pieces and ?70s things; it just depends on what mood I?m in. I think she was quite surprised by that.?
She?s always been obsessed with jewelry: ?As a kid I would always save the smallest present wrapped up under the tree at Christmas for last, hoping it was going to be a piece of jewelry, but it never was. I suppose I?m making up for that now!? It was when her modeling career took off that Moss began splashing out on the pieces she still treasures to this day. ?I remember being in Milan for the shows, and I went to Pennisi?it?s a jewelry shop that I think Miuccia Prada goes to?and I bought these emerald and gold antique earrings that eventually Craig McDean shot for Vogue Nippon. It was then I started collecting. I can?t pass a jewelry shop without looking in the window now.?
The people she idolizes: ?Because it?s high-end jewelry and they were talking diamonds, I was just thinking decadence, and imagining some billionaire hippy like Talitha Getty?that was my dream inspiration. Oh, and Elizabeth Taylor, of course. Nobody loved jewelry more than her.?
She wants diamonds on the beach: ?When I?m in Ibiza, I like to wear diamonds on the beach. When I go swimming in the sea, sometimes I?ll just wear my emerald ring that I got from Jade Jagger, because the colors look so beautiful in the water. I know that sounds quite decadent, but that?s why I love jewelry?it gives me pleasure, it definitely brings me joy.?
She?s a magpie: ?Oh definitely. Definitely. If there?s a girl with a lot of jewelry on?or any jewelry on at all?I can?t help myself. I?ll say, ?Ooh, that?s nice, ooh, that?s lovely.? I just love it?. I?m definitely an impulse buyer. If I love it in the moment, I have to have it. If I want to wear it right that second, I can?t leave the shop without it.?
Her most treasured pieces: ?I always remember this diamond Tiffany necklace I wore for my first jewelry shoot with Camilla Nickerson for American Vogue. I was like, ?Oh, my god, that?s just the most dreamy thing I?ve ever seen,? and someone bought it for me! That was a very memorable moment. I also have a baby ring from when I gave birth that feels special. A lot of it is memorable from birthdays or when I?ve treated myself or presents from people that are sentimental. Jewelry is all about memories, really, isn?t it??

Honestly, I dare anyone to read Elizabeth Taylor?s My Love Affair With Jewelry and not come out of it daydreaming about having that kind of spectacular collection. That sounds like Kate Moss too sure, she?s probably always been a magpie, but as she grew up, she idolized the glamorous women who were always dripping in jewels. She associates glamour WITH jewelry. And so do I, honestly. Damn, I would love to see Moss?s private jewelry collection.

Kate Moss appears on millions of magazine covers every year, but she rarely gives interviews. This is part of the Moss Mystique, that she is a blank space onto which everyone can project their own loves and fears. So on the rare occasions when she does give an interview, it?s always noteworthy, even if? she?s not really saying anything groundbreaking. Moss spoke to Elle UK recently and most of this stuff sounds exactly like the sh-t Jennifer Aniston constantly says: yoga, sleep, skincare, etc. I?m surprised she didn?t talk about hydrating and chicken salads. Still, it?s interesting that notorious party girl Kate Moss needs her eight hours of sleep, and that she?s tucked in by 11 pm every night now.
She hits the sack: ?11pm-ish, and watch Netflix before I go to sleep. I?ve just finished Sex Education ? it?s so funny.
She wakes up: ?Around 8am. I?m a bit groggy in the afternoon if I don?t get eight hours? sleep.
The first thing she drinks in the morning: ?Hot water and lemon. I try to have that first, and follow it up with a coffee.
Her daily makeup routine: ?It tends to be a bit of cover-up, then whatever bronzer I have lying around, a Decort lipstick as a stain, and I curl my eyelashes to finish.
Exercise routine: ?.. [It] starts with yoga in the morning: my instructor comes to my house. I also have a mini gym with a Peloton bike, which I don?t use very often! It?s quite hardcore but my brother loves it.
Her worst beauty habit: ?Forgetting to take my make-up off when I?m tired. I hate how it feels it in the morning
The last beauty item she bought: ?A jade roller. I love it for under my eyes; it irons them out a bit. I keep one in my bag ? when I?m bored, I just start rolling!
Her fridge is full of: ?Loads of celery. I do celery juices for everyone in the house in the morning.
Her daily skin routine: ?Very simple: I just wash and moisturise. But when I?m on holiday and have more time, I go wild. My daughter and I do beauty routines with all the serums and masks.
The craziest thing she?s done beauty-wise: ?Dyeing my hair pink. It was only for a week, but when I dyed it back my hair fell out and I had to cut it all off!
How she deals with stress: ?Doing yoga. It helps me concentrate on the here and now.
The best beauty advice she?s ever received: ?Getting a lip colour I can use on my cheeks. I even pop a bit on my eyes, too.

Since I cover a lot of these kinds of ?daily routine? interviews, I?ve tried out a few of things various celebrities have recommended. I now swear by a half a glass of water first thing in the morning. I don?t know why, but it really does help. I don?t have the patience in the morning for putting lemon in the water though. Maybe I?ll try it one day. I?m also shocked that Kate Moss, the wild child, has a Peloton, a mini-gym and a love for yoga. And the jade roller?! Wow. Damn it, now I kind of want to try a jade roller, knowing that Kate swears by it.

Perhaps the ?in? thing for magazines this year is mother-daughter covers? Cindy Crawford and her 14-year-old daughter Kaia covered Vogue Paris several months back, and many people loved and praised the image. And now this ? Kate Moss and her 13-year-old daughter Lila Grace cover the new issue of Vogue Italia. Thoughts? I think Lila will look more like her mom as she gets into her mid-to-late teens. Right now, she?s just an interesting blend of both of her parents (her dad is Jefferson Hack).
When Cindy and Kaia covered Vogue Paris in March, I sort of assumed that Cindy was trying to gently open some doors for her daughter, who already has representation at a modeling agency. Like, the deal between Kaia and Cindy is that Kaia can model but only if Cindy gets to be hands-on about her career. I wonder about Lila and Kate?s dynamic, whether Lila is even interested in modeling like her famous mum, or if Lila is just a normal kid, untouched by her mother?s career. Jefferson Hack did provide some clues in a recent interview, saying:
“I spend a lot of time with Lila Grace. She’s 13 and my relationship with her and her mum, Kate, is the thing I’m most proud of. That is life with a capital L. Everything else is window dressing. I have Lila at least one night in the week and every other weekend. We use FaceTime most evenings. She thinks me and her mum are deeply uncool. I don’t think her music tastes are cool – Capital radio and Justin Bieber. She keeps me real. I’m not on Snapchat. It’s wrong when parents act like their kids. I don’t buy into the ‘my mum’s my best friend’ ethos. Kate’s a great mum and they have a fantastic relationship.”

Yes, when you?re 13 years old, everything about your parents is deeply and profoundly uncool, even if your mother is literally the coolest person in England. In Kate?s recent Edit cover interview, she even admitted that Lila isn?t even into clothes right now. So now I?m imagining Kate and Lila as Edina Monsoon and Saffy. It would be absolutely amazing if Kate Moss ended up with a tightly-wound conservative daughter who has no interest in clothes or cool parties.

The gorgeous English supermodel worked with photography duo Luigi & Iango for the black and white advertisements, styled by Joe McKenna.

Well, here?s some good news? probably. Yesterday, we discussed whether or not Kate Moss was and is banging the 18-year-old son of her good friends. The 18-year-old is Jake Curtis, son of Richard Curtis and Emma Freud. Kate has been family-friends with the Curtis-Freuds for decades, since before little Jake was even born. Sources indicated to the Daily Mail that Kate might have seduced young Jake while his parents are away in New York. But Kate heard those stories and this is her answer: she got pap?d last night with her boyfriend, Count Nikolai von Bismarck.
Kate and Nikolai were photographed outside of the Chiltern Firehouse, which is one of the big celebrity hot-spots in London. Kate knew what she was doing when she provided this pap stroll. She was even holding hands with Nikolai! So can we stop calling Kate ?gross?? I do think that Jake was photographed in Kate?s car because she probably (hopefully) sees him like a godson, and she?s trying to look after him a bit. Maybe. That being said, she does like younger men. Count Nicolai is only 28! Kate is 42. Which definitely isn?t as big a deal as Kate possibly getting with an 18 year old.

It?s difficult to even describe, as an outsider to British culture and celebrity, what Kate Moss means to Great Britain. Like, she?s one of the most iconic British people in the world right now. She?s arguably the most famous British model of all time. She?s been well-known, beloved and gossiped about for more than two decades. There has barely been a month in 20 years when Kate isn?t somewhere, doing something or covering some magazine or walking some runway or part of some scandal or being discussed in some way. And throughout it all, she barely ever speaks in public. Finding a quote from Kate Moss is like finding the Holy Grail.
So, she covers the May issue of Vogue UK. Guess how many times she?s covered British Vogue? 37 TIMES. Seriously. That?s practically twice a year for 20 years. Kate got the cover this time to? like, pay homage to fifty years of the Rolling Stones. That?s what the Union Jack-flag photo is all about, it?s an homage to the famous photos of Mick Jagger draped in a Union Jack. Still, why not put Mick Jagger on the cover? No, they had to use Moss. Again. For the 37th time.
Meanwhile, did you hear that Kate is leaving her long-time modeling agency? She was discovered by Sarah Doukas of Storm Models when she was 14 and she?s been with Storm ever since. Kate is 42. So? nearly 30 years. And she?s done.
Kate Moss has left Storm Models, the agency to which she has been signed since she was first discovered by its founder Sarah Doukas in JFK airport aged 14, the company confirmed to us this morning.
“After a successful 28 year relationship, Kate is moving her business in house, and we will continue to maintain an active involvement in our on-going deals for her,” read a statement from the agency, which is responsible for the fashion careers of hundreds of major fashion models including Cindy Crawford, Jourdan Dunn, Liu Wen, Behati Prinsloo and, until recently, Cara Delevingne. The agency does, however, still have one Moss on its books in the form of Kate’s little sister, Lottie.
Moss – who has established herself as a shrewd businesswoman in recent years with many collaborations and additional ventures to her modelling – will, moving forward, manage the majority of her modelling commitments herself, collaborating with the agency on an ad-hoc basis. The move, however, is said to be amicable.

If this was anyone else, I might think that the model was pissed that she wasn?t getting consistent work in her 40s. But this is Kate Moss and she still works all the time. I?ve heard that she still has plenty of offers for advertising and magazine work and she can pick and choose what she does. So what?s this about? Her divorce? A new phase in her career? I have no idea.

On Sunday, we discussed the ongoing situation with Kate Moss and her seemingly estranged husband Jamie Hince. Hince is in America now, touring with his band, The Kills. When The Kills were playing an LA venue last week, Hince was ?caught? by a paparazzo ? Hince was looking super-friendly/flirty with model Jessica Stam. Following that revelation ? that there could be another woman in the mix ? the UK tabloids have been trying to figure out just how bad all of this is for Moss. Here are some assorted stories:
Kate?s holiday. Apparently, Kate originally planned to soak up the sun and alcohol in Ibiza, but she canceled that holiday at the last minute. The Daily Mail?s gossip girl claimed that Moss is so ?over? Hince that she?s planning to go on holiday with her ex-lover Jefferson Hack (Hack is Lila?s father). They are apparently already in Italy together.
Kate doesn?t want to look miserable. Sources claim: “Kate is not in a great place at the moment and she couldn’t face a weekend of partying. She felt that all eyes would be on her and if she looked miserable it would get back to Jamie. To say she’s going through a difficult time would be an understatement.”
Kate is hurt. The photos of Hince and Stam hurt Moss. A source said: ?She’s always hated it when other women flirted with Jamie so the pictures of him and Jessica really hurt her.”
Fights about babies. The Mail?s gossip girl also claimed that Kate and Jamie?s marriage collapsed because Jamie ?told friends? that he realized he and Kate had no business having a child together because of their irresponsible lifestyles.
Moss will sell her fancy London home. Kate has owned a really nice home in Highgate, a ?tony? part of London, for four years. It was her marital home with Hince, and she?s reportedly putting it on the market.
There will be a major custody fight. About their dog, Archie. Technically, Hince rescued the dog but sources say ?Kate loves Archie. He?s part of her life and she won?t give him up?It?s actually a big problem and neither know how to resolve this, other than ?joint custody? so to speak.?
It sounds like a mess. And it sounds like it?s really over, like Jamie Hince is leaving it to Kate as to when she wants to officially announce their split or whatever. Maybe she even thinks that there?s a chance they?ll get back together, which? hey, that might happen. But it feels more like Hince was done and he left and Kate is just dealing with the aftermath. Possibly in the arms of her ex-lover.

I really love using these old wedding photos! I still love the fact that Kate Moss and Jamie Hince took a moment after their wedding ceremony to pose for the waiting phalanx of photographers. Anyway, as we discussed earlier this week, there are some rumors about the state of Kate and Jamie?s marriage. They got married in the summer of 2011 and they just went through their fourth wedding anniversary with little-to-no fanfare. I think there?s some question as to whether they even spent their anniversary together? In any case, the UK tabloids are saying that the marriage is now definitely done.
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince’s marriage is reportedly ‘over’ for good. The couple – who tied the knot in 2011 – have reportedly confided in friends that they are not able to repair their relationship problems and the Kills rocker is now waiting for his supermodel wife, 41, to ‘move forward’ with divorce proceedings.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘They are properly over as a married couple. It’s gone past the point of no return. Jamie’s just waiting for Kate to move forward with divorce proceedings. Neither are in any hurry but they both suspect there won’t be a reconciliation. They accept they’ll probably have to make some sort of statement but don’t want to feel forced into anything.’
Sources claim one of the contributing factors to the couple’s problems is Kate’s jealousy over 46-year-old Jamie’s friendships with other people.
Mutual friends of the couple are said to have sided with Jamie in the wake of the separation.

Call me judgy, but I don?t believe ?jealousy over friendships with other people? is a good enough reason to get a divorce. If you want to make the argument that Kate Moss is a jealous, possessive, crazy person, sure, make that argument. But don?t say she was jealous of her husband having friends outside of their close circle of friends. Because that?s not a reason to get divorced!! Anyway, I do think Kate and Jamie are over. Sad.
