| Madonna sued again by ticket holders for starting DC concert two hours late | Added 242 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It?s been 25 years since Madonna debuted ?Like A Prayer? and first sang the illusory lyrics ?life is a mystery.? And time seems to have proven that the greatest mystery of all for Her Madgesty is how to start her own concerts on time. I guess she just can?t get into the groove! Her clock is on holiday! The stage manager says ?We only got four minutes? but Madge doesn?t listen! Oh, I crack myself up. Madonna was sued in January by two concertgoers for starting her Dec. 13 Brooklyn show more than two hours late. Now three attendees of her Dec. 18 show in DC have filed another suit over Madonna?s tardiness. The kicker with this one is that Madame X started out the DC concert by rescinding an apology for the two hour delay. Your honor, Exhibit A: ?It?s who I am? I?m always late.?
Seeing red: Three formerly true-blue Madonna fans are now seeing red. They have filed a federal class-action lawsuit in Washington, D.C. against the singer and Live Nation complaining that she was allegedly late getting onstage. The fans, Elizabeth Halper-Asefi, Mary Conoboy, and Nestor Monte, Jr., claim that their tickets said the Celebration Tour would begin at 8:30 p.m. but that Madge didn?t make an appearance until 10:30 p.m. on each of her D.C. dates in December.
?A consumer?s worst nightmare?: In the filing, obtained by Rolling Stone, the D.C. three say they feel ?deceived.? They also claim that they ?had to leave the concerts early prior to the concerts? conclusion, therefore depriving each of them of the benefit of seeing the complete concert.? The lawsuit further alleges that Madonna ?maintained[ed] a hot and uncomfortable temperature in the venue during her performance? and that she ?lip sync[ed] much of her performance.? These alleged actions, they claim, represent ?Madonna?s arrogant and total disrespect? for ticketholders. ?In essence, Madonna and Live Nation are a consumer?s worst nightmare,? the lawsuit claims.
Sorry, not sorry: When Madonna got onstage at the Dec. 18 D.C. show that the fans were at, the suit claims she told the crowd: ?I am sorry I am late? no, I am not sorry, it?s who I am? I?m always late.? One of the plaintiffs, Halper-Asefi, spent $992.76 on tickets from StubHub, while the others purchased theirs from Ticketmaster. Conoboy spent $537.70 on two tickets while Monte shelled out $252.44 for two. ?Defendants failed to provide any notice to the ticketholders that the Concerts would start much later than the start time printed on the ticket and as advertised, which resulted in the ticketholders waiting for hours for the Concerts to begin at the venue,? the lawsuit claims.
A pattern of behavior: Interestingly, the suit cites several examples of past Madonna tours where she did not get onstage promptly, including her 2016 Rebel Heart tour and Madame X concerts in Brooklyn, suggesting Madonna?s alleged tardiness is well known. ?There have been myriad articles in the media and the internet over the years of fans complaining about Madonna not taking the stage for several hours after the advertised start time of her concerts,? the complaint reads. ?Unfortunately, not all people who rely on advertising for the concerts know this. Further, even if some ticket purchasers know of Madonna?s unfortunate history of starting her concerts late, they do not know how late she will show-up [sic] on stage at any particular concert, so ticket purchasers arrived at the start time as advertised.?
Read the footnote: A lawyer for the plaintiffs directed Rolling Stone to a footnote from the filing that states, ?This Complaint is not about unhappy fans who don?t want to stay up late, but instead, reasonable, responsible people who had commitments to babysitters, work, getting their vehicles out of parking lots that closed at 12:00 midnight, and realizing that public transportation would no longer be operating.?
[From Rolling Stone]
Most of the arguments here are the same as with the other lawsuit. With that first one, I was going back and forth on whether it?s effective for the plaintiffs to harp on Madonna?s history of starting shows late. My concern was that they were making themselves vulnerable to the counter-argument that if she?s notorious for being late, shouldn?t the concertgoers have anticipated that possibility? But I?ve come around now, especially with seeing the ticket prices included in the filing. People have a right to expect the show to start at the time it says on the ticket, so that they can make all other logistical arrangements AND get to see the whole show. I can?t wait to see fake Celebration Tour merch pop up on Etsy with the tagline, Madonna + Live Nation: a consumer?s worst nightmare.
Lastly, I have to bring up again ? because it cannot be forgotten amid these lawsuits ? that Madonna used to charge her backup dancers $100 a minute for being late to rehearsals. Karma is a slick mistress with patience, a sense of poetry, and a long memory.

| Princess Kate given a new appointment to the Order of the Companions of Honour | Added 242 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Queen Elizabeth II was not a big fan of the then-Duchess of Cambridge. I?m not saying QEII had beef with Kate, but QEII did have some subtle ways of showing that Kate was far from her favorite married-in. QEII waited six and a half years to give Kate the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II, which is usually something given to royal wives after three or four years. QEII also waited until April 2019 to give Kate the Royal Victorian Order, and it felt like Kate was given GCRVO specifically because Kate was (at the time) weathering a lot of rumors about her husband?s alleged affair with their Norfolk neighbor, Rose Hanbury. Five years later, and Kate is once again in the middle of another sh-tstorm, likely of her husband?s making. So King Charles has dusted off a new shiny medal to give her for sticking with an unmoisturized Huevo.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are taking on new royal appointments. On April 23, which happens to be the sixth birthday of the Prince and Princess of Wales son Prince Louis, King Charles announced several new appointments, including for members of the royal family.
The King, 75, appointed his daughter-in-law Princess Kate, 42, as the Royal Companion of the Order of the Companions of Honour. In a history-making twist, she is the first Royal Companion named to this order. The Order of the Companions of Honour was founded by King George V in 1917 to recognize outstanding achievements in the arts, sciences, medicine and public service. Members are limited to 65 at a time (although people from outside Commonwealth countries can be counted as additional honorary members) and currently include David Attenborough, Elton John, Anna Wintour, Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.
Prince William, 41, was appointed by his father to be Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. The role had been vacant since 2022 after King Charles, who held the role from 1974 to 2022, acceded to the throne.
The Most Honourable Order of the Bath was established by King George I in 1725 but is believed to originally date back as far as the eighth century. It is awarded to members of the military or civil service for exemplary service.
Queen Camilla also received a new appointment from her husband as the Grand Master and First or Principal Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. The Order of the British Empire was established by King George V in 1917 to honor a broader cross-section of society, both military and civilian. It comprises five classes, the two most senior of which makes the recipient a knight or dame.
The title of Grand Master has twice before been held by the monarchs spouse with Prince Philip (1953 to 2021) and Queen Mary (1936 to 1953). King Edward VIII, who was known as the Duke of Windsor following his abdication, held the role from 1917 to 1936 as the Prince of Wales.
Keeping with the tradition of appointing new Companions to the Order of the Garter on April 23, the feast day of Englands patron saint St. George, King Charles named four members. This included a member of the royal family: the Duchess of Gloucester. The Duchess, 77, is the wife of the late Queen Elizabeths cousin the Duke of Gloucester and a full-time working member of the royal family. Her appointment marks the first time a non-blood royal who wasnt a spouse of the monarch or heir received the Order of Garter honor. The other three new Order of the Garter members include Air Chief Marshal Lord Peach, the Right Honourable Lord Kakkar and Lord Lloyd-Webber.
[From People]
It?s insane to me that the Duchess of Gloucester is getting the Order of the Garter honor and she?s the first married-in royal to get it. Like? I?m sure it?s about seniority, but damn, you know both Sophie and Kate would love to get the Garter robes or even the Order of the Thistle robes (I love the Thistle robes, they?re emerald green velvet and I would wear that cape everywhere). Kate will probably be pleased with the Royal Companion of the Order of the Companions of Honour, although it does feel like a ?lesser? honor, something given to placate Kate. Will she accept the honor in person?? LOL. I don?t think that?s how it works it?s just some fancy doodad which will appear with her sash and her few other medals for state dinners and state occasions. As for William?s new position? again, he should have been taking over ALL of Charles?s former positions right from the start. It?s shocking how long it?s taking to hand off everything.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco started dating sometime in the fall and after a month or so of speculation, confirmed their romance in December. Of course, there was a bit of drama that followed because some of her fans initially disapproved. Selena shut all of that down pretty quickly, though, including addressing the fact that years earlier, Benny seemingly shaded her as a cookie-cutter pop star with a make-up line. At the time, he was working with Justin Bieber. Selena acknowledged the diss over Instagram and made it clear that the comment did not bother her. Since then, they?ve been adorably gushy all over social media and at events.
Selena and Benny had a date night on Monday, where they went to see the NY Knicks play the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden. They sat courtside alongside Sting, Chris Rock, Christopher ?Zaddy? Meloni, Ben Stiller, Ego Nwodim, and Cecily Strong. During date night, they packed on the PDA, kissing, cuddling, and taking selfies. Courtside at a big market basketball game feels like a celeb relationship rite of passage, no? Like, now theyre courtside official.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are getting cozy courtside! The Calm Down singer and her music producer boyfriend were spotted on a date night at the New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers basketball game at New York?s Madison Square Garden on Monday, April 22, while joined courtside by Sting and an array of other star-studded attendees.
Gomez, 31, and Blanco, 36, were seen getting very close during the match as they also took the time to mingle with Sting, 72, who sat beside them. Other stars in attendance at the April 22 game were Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Christopher Meloni, Carmelo Anthony and Saturday Night Live?s Ego Nwodim and Cecily Strong.
Gomez?s date night with Blanco comes after she shared photos of the pair on her Instagram Stories on April 12. In one snap, the couple kissed as the singer caressed Blancos neck with one hand, while he cradled her elbow. A second photo showed Blanco kissing Gomez?s hand as they took a joint selfie in a car.
An insider told PEOPLE earlier this month that Gomez and Blanco are said to be ?so in love? after confirming their relationship in December 2023, adding that the two stars are in a ?serious relationship.?
They are so in love, said the source. It?s a very serious relationship, and they?re making long distance work while she?s in New York for work commitments.
Benny makes her feel special and they try to see each other as much as possible, the insider continued. She really does feel like it?s the best she?s ever been treated by a guy, and she?s had a certain glow since they started dating.

Aww, good for Selena and Benny! I hope they had a blast during date night. I think they?re so cute together and hope Selena?s finally found someone who is the anti-Biebs and will treat her like she deserves. While Benny?s outfit is ridiculous, I kinda love his pants. Also, can we talk about Selena?s red trench coat (in the People photos, link below)? It?s super adorable. That color is magnificent. Apparently, colorful trenches are a thing this year. According to In Style, Dua Lipa has a green one and Kendall Jenner recently wore a dark maroon one. Queer Eye?s Tan France said in an interview that trench coats/floor length jackets are, in fact, this spring?s big trend, so I guess we?ll all be on style alert to see what other celebrities start wearing them.
