She rocked an emerald green Dolce and Gabanna dress with black wedges, and if you’re wondering what she was doing at the event, it turns out she was a presenter. Her new flick Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters on August 8, so we’re guessing she took the time to chat about that with reporters as well.
?Someone?s always going to be upset about something,? she said. ?When you?re [making] a movie like this and making it live-action, there are things where you?ll have to depart from the original material a little bit. People will be disappointed, but I think people will be overwhelmed with how exciting and amazing and how fresh and how true to the original this is ? but you can?t please everyone all the time.?

This isn?t surprising since the ?Hart of Dixie? star and her ?Star Wars? beau have remained very quiet on the pending parenthood. Neither of the actors or their reps have confirmed the news at this time.

Blake Lively covers the new (August) issue of Vogue Magazine. This is her third Vogue cover!! And she got the cover because she?s launching her lifestyle website, Preserve. Yes. Preserve was reason enough to give Blake a Vogue cover. The article is really crazy too ? like, everyone fawns over her. Even Martha Stewart and Ivanka Trump. I almost don?t want to do highlights from the piece because there are just too many eye-rolly parts, but I?ll pull some quotes. You really should read the whole piece here though.

I believe that she?s putting in a ton of work to make this an interesting site, but it also feels like a vanity project and something that has been done before in various ways. Like, it’s her personal Etsy with a dash of Goop and Lauren Conrad.

The tabloids love talking about Gisele Bundchen and how she?s a ballbusting harpy. I?m of two minds on it ? on one side, I would not be surprised at all if Gisele kept Tom Brady on a ?short leash? and if she was very controlled and controlling about all aspects of her life. On the other side? I get tired of everyone beating up on Gisele. Yes, she?s said and done some dickish things but she?s not a monster. And enough with making every woman into a harpy! Anyway, this week?s Star Mag claims that Tom Brady is sick of Gisele making him do ?chores? and controlling every part of their family life.
Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady looked like the perfect couple in Brazil for the World Cup, but Star has learned that behind closed doors, things between the power duo are nowhere near as happy as they seem. According to insiders, Gisele is supercontrolling with Tom and has final say on everything from how their home is decorated to exactly how and where their children are raised.
Since the kids are too young to help out around the house, Gisele has enforced a strict chore schedule that their dad must stick to.
?They have housekeepers, but Gisele won?t let them do anything. She makes Tom get up at 6 am with the kids and then has him scrub the toilets and clean the floors while she sleeps in. She thinks that because she gave birth, her work is done.?
In the past, Tom went along with Gisele?s demands to keep the peace, but pals insist he?s finally starting to stand his ground.
?She throws an insane temper tantrum when things don?t go her way. One time, Tom didn?t do one of the chores on his list, and she berated him ? even telling him that he?s a terrible role model for their children. But instead of doing what she wanted, he just took the kids and left the house. Gisele was shocked.:
The last straw for Tom was when Gisele decided that their $40 million dream home in LA wouldn?t cut it, and that she needed a quieter environment in order to keep tabs on her hubby.
?She rules Tom?s life? nobody would be surprised if he threw in the towel soon.?

Again, none of this would really surprise me, but again, why is all of this stuff a bad thing necessarily? Even though Tom could have married someone who would have given him a ?free pass? from the dirty work of taking care of a home and raising children, he married a woman who wants him to participate in the daily work of raising a family and taking care of their home(s). Is Gisele a misunderstood ballbuster?

Candace Cameron Bure will always be DJ Tanner from Full House to me. She’s all grown up now and recently made headlines on DWTS. Plus she talked about her semi-controversial “submissive” marriage that is somehow not a dictatorship.
Cameron’s making waves again. This time, she riled up the masses by talking about her new cleanse on Facebook: “After a very indulgent week in Napa, I’m excited to kick off my 5 day cleanse with @eatpaleta today!! Shakes for breakfast & lunch, sensible snacks & a light veggie dinner!” The comments section went wild. Some folks accused her of having an eating disorder and told her to “eat a steak,” which is pretty rude. People are so judgy about other people’s eating habits. But Cameron did put the info out there, and I suspect she was doing some not-so-covert advertising for Paleta cleanses. Cameron decided to explain her cleansing situation further:
After reading your comments, let me expand! I’m excited to start my 5 day cleanse not to lose weight but to get my body back on track, ridding all the toxins and unhealthy stuff I’ve put in it the last few months. Since being off Dancing With The Stars, my body has struggled to find its balance after having danced up to 8 hours a day and eating so clean. After going back to my normal eating habits as well as extended over indulgent summertime vacation eating and normal exercise routine, my body has endured some confusion causing some minor health issues. That is private, so I will not going into detail, but this cleanse is just a step to getting it back on track because I know that food is a key source to healthy living. I’ve chosen Paleta to help because I think they’re great. And if you still comment about how unhealthy I am for doing a cleanse or that I don’t need to lose weight, I’ll know that you never read any of this and I won’t bother answering any comments below of that nature.

It’s just a five-day cleanse. I wouldn’t do it because my temper goes through the roof after missing one meal, but if Cameron wants to do it, why not? The DWTS regime does mess with people’s bodies. Celebrities are constantly getting injured on the show, and they lose so much weight and usually gain it right back after they get voted off. Cameron also spoke with Access Hollywood about the cleanse backlash. She says she doesn’t want to lose any weight, but she’s “just wanting to get the impurities out.”
Cameron’s also been spreading the TMI about her “active sex life” with husband Valeri Bure. Ugh. She spoke with Dr. Rachael Ross (via Us Weekly) about how sex is “a very fulfilling part of a marriage. When you’re happy sexually, it kinda just balances the rest of the stuff out. You’re not so mad at each other, you’re not nitpicking at the little things.” There you have it. Cameron may not be eating much solid food right now, but she’s getting plenty of action. And she wants you to know all about it.
Side note: I love Mark Ballas! He’s so freaking cute.

He understands she?s going through changes and he hasn?t judged her for it? ? anything is truly possible. Some highlights from the Star cover story:
*Ashton & Mila have been ?fighting non-stop? they?ve always been very passionate, but now that?s turning into a lot of yelling. They are both having a really hard time tolerating each other?s issues.?
*Ashton ?stormed out of their house? to fly to Brazil with his boys for the World Cup. Mila had told him to sell his World Cup tickets because ?there was no way she was allowing him to go.? *Ashton is still close to Demi and Demi still calls him all the time. Mila?s not jealous of Demi, but whenever Demi calls Ashton, Mila is reminded of ?Ashton?s philandering past? the thought makes Mila so insecure.?

Eh. It wouldn?t surprise me if Mila was feeling especially insecure and hormonal and it wouldn?t surprise me if Ashton didn?t know how to deal and spent a lot of time away from her. But I think Star is amping up the dramz. And I kind of doubt that they had some huge blowout fight about Ashton going to the World Cup. Mila seems like the kind of woman who would understand the desire for Ashton and his bros to go to the games if they had tickets. Still? I?ll buy that not everything is golden with Ashton and Mila.

"It's really hard to manage [my sons at the same time] because I don?t let them watch TV. It's not like I'm going to sit Noah in front of the television so I can take care of Bodhi.?
Fox added, "I do let them watch movies, I just don?t let them watch TV. With movies I feel like there's a beginning, a middle and an end. It's linear. There's a clear story. I think that it's different than just putting a kid in front of the television, because it's just nonstop.?

If you ask me, it?s WAY too early to start promoting The Avengers: Age of Ultron. But here we go. Entertainment Weekly has a super-advanced preview of all things Avengers in this week?s issue, with a cover that features Iron Man, Captain America and Ultron. You can see the EW slideshow here ? I?m including pics of Black Widow, the cover and a first look at Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) who? I?m not sure that who the fan-boys pictured? Anyway, as for Black Widow and Scarlett Johansson?s real-life pregnancy, which she revealed just before she went to London to start filming? well, Joss Whedon says it?s fine. He says that they pulled out all the stops for Scarlett:
Scarlett Johansson may be pregnant, but moviegoers will be hard-pressed to find any indication of her burgeoning belly when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters next summer ? thanks to a little strategic planning by director Joss Whedon and company.
While reprising her role as Black Widow for the highly anticipated sequel, the 29-year-old mother-to-be was given a variety of high-waisted outfits to wear in order to conceal the fact that she has a bun in the oven, Entertainment Weekly reports in its latest issue. But Whedon insists the efforts to hide Johansson’s pregnancy were, nevertheless, kept to a minimum.
“She’s not going to spend the whole movie carrying groceries,” notes Whedon. “We didn’t trim any scenes. We’re like, ‘We’ll make it work.’ ”
And while shooting the flick involved a lot of action, steps were taken to make sure Johansson’s baby was kept out of harm’s way. In fact, not one, not two, but three stunt doubles were brought in to handle the more physically intense scenes.
“It’s always funny,” Johanson’s costar Chris Evans tells EW. “You walk by, ‘Hey Scarlett ? oh, weird. You’re not Scarlett at all. Sorry.’ A lot of fake Scarletts around.”

I heard somewhere (??) that Black Widow plays a very important, central role in this film, so I guess it?s good that they didn?t A) fire Scarlett and recast the role or B) rewrite the script to limit Black Widow?s scenes. While I?m not a huge fan of Black Widow, The Avengers definitely need more chicks and Black Widow is what we get. And as I said months ago? they can just do close-ups and shoot her from the boobs up. Her boobs are HUGE! And that will make the fna-boys happy. But really, THREE stunt doubles? Yikes.

I’m covering this story because I want to talk about Extant. I am really enjoying that show, and it is a welcome addition to the dearth of summer programming. (Although I’m also watching True Blood and Ray Donovan and need to catch up on Masters of Sex. I wish Showtime would promote Ray Donovan as much as they’re hyping Sex, it’s an excellent show.)
Anyway, Star Magazine claims that the new show’s star, Halle Berry, is hard to read on set. She’s sometimes unapproachable, sometimes friendly to crew, and they’re unsure of how to act around her. Star’s source says “everyone is on edge.”
Halle Berry may have switched over to television, but she still expects more star treatment! Sources on the set of her new series, Extant, in which she plays an astronaut who returns to Earth pregnant after a year alone in pace, say Halle is making everyone miserable. “The crew was warned not to look Halle in the eye or talk to her except through her assistants, but they’re never around,” says a set insider. “And she plays weird mind games, like throwing a fit over water being the wrong temperature, then, 10 minutes later, offering to buy the crew lunch. Everyone is on edge!”

I don’t doubt that Halle is a diva in some respects, but assuming this is all true I want to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she had a diva moment with the water, realized how ridiculous she was being and then tried to make it right by treating everyone to lunch. It’s also possible that the instructions about not looking her in the eye and not talking to her came from someone higher up and not Halle.
I’m making excuses because Halle is excellent on Extant. She gives a nice nuanced performance where you can see that she’s tortured but that her character, an astronaut, is trained to reign it in. The supporting actors, particularly Goran Visnjic and Camryn Manheim, are very good too.
Spoilers for past episodes of Extant follow
I have some questions about the plot. In the opening episode I assumed that the Yasumoto corp colluded with the ISEA to impregnate Halle’s character, Molly. This week they seemed to suggest that extraterrestrials had done it and that they were merely aware of it. Also, last week it looked like child robot Ethan was going to turn into some kind of Omen humanoid, but now he seems much more “normal” now.
I like that they’re keeping us guessing with a well-crafted mystery. Plus Extant is doing very well in the ratings. If Halle wants her water a certain temperature, give it to her. Her star power is definitely contributing to the high ratings and her acting elevates that show.

I?ve heard mixed things about the new HBO show The Leftovers. It?s not like I?m looking for something to criticize either ? I haven?t watched any of it because I canceled HBO as soon as Game of Thrones was over. I just don?t think HBO has some massive hit on their hands with The Leftovers, and it?s not some cultural-touchstone show. And I don?t think it has much to do with Justin Theroux or Liv Tyler, the two most major stars of the show. I think it has a lot to do with creator/writer Damon Lindelof and his limited bag of tricks.
Anyway, I?ve been thinking about how weird it is that Justin did barely any advanced promotion ahead of the premiere, and I completely missed the fact that Liv Tyler basically did NO promotion. But two nights ago she was on Watch What Happens Live and she talked about Justin?s bulge (#neverforget), whether she would ever pose for Playboy and what she dislikes about her dad. Some highlights:
Liv on Theroux?s bulge: “There was this scene where he was jogging. And there was quite a large bulge in his sweatpants, and it was all over. I get distracted when I watch the pilot, definitely. I’m like, ‘Can’t help but look there.’ But I’ve never noticed the bulge other times.”
Marry, shag and kill. “Marry Justin Theroux, shag Ben Affleck and kill Orlando Bloom.?
Whether she would ever pose for Playboy: “I don’t know, my mom’s body was so beautiful. I’m a little too shy to be naked. I’m kind of into wearing panties. I would do it if I could have something covering my something.”
The best & worst parts of Steven Tyler. “The worst is that he likes to ride in limousines, and I get really embarrassed. The best is his smell. I love the way he smells, he smells really good.”

Those photos of Justin Theroux?s bulge were pretty Hamm-Dong-tastic, so I would imagine that the bulge in motion (running!) would be? disconcerting. Distracting. Did the director just not notice? Or was the bulge some kind of strategic marketing technique? Also: she wants to marry Justin, shag Affleck and kill Orly?! How does that make any sense? You need to kill the Batfleck. Then marry Orly and shag Justin probably.

Cheryl Burke, 30, is one of the two professional dancers on Dancing with The Stars who have stayed the longest. She and Tony Dovolani have been on the show since 2005. Burke has always been extremely fit and what I consider skinny, however she’s received flack throughout the years for her shape. Back in 2008, DWTS pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Louis van Amstel publicly shaded Burke and fellow dancer Lacey Schwimmer for not being reed thin. It must have hurt, although Burke has always maintained that she keeps a positive body image and does not try to be tiny.
Burke Instagrammed this photo (below) from her vacation a couple of weeks ago. She looks a little like Lisa Rinna, but that could be due to the angle. In response, mean Instagram users started bashing her for her weight loss and what looks like plastic surgery. Burke told multiple outlets that she just adopted a healthier lifestyle to lose weight and that she hasn’t had any work done. It sounds like the negative comments have hurt her feelings, and that she’s trying to deal with it.
During an appearance on Access Hollywood this week, Burke said she lost 25 pounds by simply eating healthier and exercising more.
“I’ve seriously had no plastic surgery,” she told Access Hollywood co-host Kit Hoover on Wednesday, July 16. “I used to get bullied as a kid for having big ears and big lips and they would call me monkey face. So I’ve always had the big lips.”
Burke defended herself, in part, because of the backlash she suffered after posting a bikini selfie via Instagram while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on July 7.
“People just went crazy,” the 30-year-old explained. “I was surprised that no one really stuck up for me either. It really just messes with your head honestly.” (Some of the hate-filled comments received were “you look anorexic” and “what the hell happened to you?”)
The negative feedback didn’t leave Burke in tears, but it has left an affect on her. “I do constantly look in the mirror and say, ‘Oh, I have a fat roll here. Or am I skinny enough or am I fit enough?’” she said. “Now I just have to let it go and as long as I feel good and I’m happy that’s all that matters.”

To People, Burke admitted that the comments have hurt her. She said “Have I lost weight? Absolutely. But not in an unhealthy way. I want everyone to know that. I love my fans. But words are hurtful, especially coming from people you think always have your back.” She added that she’s using portion control to lose weight and is eating right, and that she isn’t “on Atkins or anything.”
I asked a friend who is an avid DWTS watcher to comment on Burke’s weight loss and she said “How can she lose weight? She was always so skinny to begin with. Actually she’s the perfect shape.” My friend also thought that Burke was in her late 30s, but that’s due to the fact that she’s been on DWTS since the beginning. (Plus Burke wears a lot of makeup, I suspect she would look younger with lighter makeup.)
Burke also looked great to me “before,” I didn’t think she had to lose weight at all. I wouldn’t criticize her for it, especially in her industry. This is a woman who works as a professional dancer and who is constantly being critiqued for her shape. I admire that she’s open about how she feels vulnerable when people say horrible things, but I also think she should just be more careful about what she shares online. This reminds me of Wednesday’s story on Rose McGowan. Rose lashed out at people needlessly, but the issue is that these type of comments can be made in the first place. Can’t Burke use WhoSay or something? They seem to have more controls in place so that people don’t get needlessly bashed. Or, you know, she could limit her use of social media.
As far as plastic surgery, Burke’s face just looks thinner to me. She’s had those lips for years, but of course it’s possible they’re not all natural.

Here are some photos of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian out and about in NYC yesterday. There were some costume changes because they were doing press to various media outlets. Like? they sat down with Wendy Williams and this interview was? uncomfortable. I know people have mixed opinions about Wendy (and I?m right there with you), but props to her for not pulling her punches with both of them. Eddie blatantly lies throughout the interview too, which is funny because it?s so obvious. He?s such a bad actor. He?s like, ?Yeah, we?ll have a baby,? as he literally squirms and looks pained.
?Well my wife doesn?t engage. I mean if you want to look back, really dig down and be a journalist, look at the timelines and you will see that there is a big discrepancy and there really is no going back and forth, my wife sometimes? I mean you eventually you have to say something, enough is enough, but the truth is she has always taken the high road.?
I think that ^^ is my favorite part, when Eddie tries to say that LeAnn never starts Twitter wars or that when LeAnn does go crazy on Twitter, it?s only because Brandi provoked her. Rii-ight. I really don?t think LeAnn and Eddie?s joint interviews have been going the way they planned. They were expecting everything to be light and breezy and interviewers are like, ?WHY ARE YOU SO CRAZY?? and ?Why do you start sh-t with Eddie?s ex-wife??
Oh, and LeAnn is releasing a dance remix CD? Hahahaha. This album will make Spitfire look like a huge hit.
