Madonna must be really pissed. On Monday, her rep, Liz Rosenberg, issued a statement to the Associated Press that Madge and Guy Ritchie reached a financial settlement in the range of $76 million to $92 million. But now Madonna and Guy have issued a statement saying that?s “misleading and inaccurate.”
The statement reads:
“We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest.
“A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week.
“The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement.
“Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children.”

It seems to me that Madge and Guy just don?t like that the information got out there. The $76 million to $92 million amount Liz Rosenberg named is so broad that they could technically call it inaccurate. Rosenberg has been Madonna?s rep for a long time and is generally a pretty quiet one. Most of her responses are variations of ?no comment,? and ?untrue.? I was truly surprised she ever announced anything. So I?m disinclined to believe she put out a statement that?s a lie.
I?m guessing it?s more likely that there was some miscommunication or Madonna and Guy changed their minds and didn?t want the information out there. They couldn?t tell the press, ?Never mind, we wish we hadn?t said anything so pretend you don?t know.? All they could do is say it?s ?inaccurate.? But I love the line about being good parents. It has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the statement. Excellent diversion.

I would really like to know what kind of person would stalk Lindsay Lohan. I mean there are so many better celebrities out there. All of them, really. Q-list celebrities are a better stalking choice than Lohan. But apparently she?s got at least one guy committed to the cause of following her every move. Which has got to be pretty damn tedious: all she does is go to clubs and buy boots. You?d think any stalker, no matter how irrational, would have gotten bored long ago.
Unfortunately 38-year-old Daniel Combs is so irrational and into the Lohan stalking cause that he lunged at her last night as she and Samantha Ronson were exiting a club. He started screaming the typical stalker lines of ?I love you I love you I love you!? and other highly creative compliments. He was swiftly arrested.
With suitors like this, it’s no wonder Lindsay Lohan has shied away from the company of men. A man accused of stalking the actress was busted in Scottsdale, Ariz., early this morning, after making an aggressive play for Lohan’s attention as she and gal-pal Samantha Ronson exited a local nightclub. The dynamic duo were on their way out of Scottsdale’s Jackrabbit Lounge, where Ronson had been on official spinning duty, at roughly 1:30 a.m., when 38-year-old Daniel Combs lunged for the actress.
“The gentleman became very excited when he realized he was so close to Samantha, and he has a history of being a stalker with Lindsay Lohan, so he immediately attacked her and started yelling ‘I love her, I love her,’ ” the club’s owner, Dan Wierck, told the local ABC affiliate. Bodyguards and police were quick to tackle the man?photos of him being detained are already making the rounds thanks to an intrepid local blogger?and Lohan and Ronson were subsequently ushered off the premises.
“Combs tried to get around security and pushed one of the guards,” the police report said. “He became disruptive and was subsequently detained by club security personnel.” Combs was arrested for disorderly conduct and released from police custody at 6 a.m. Police said they contacted Lohan and Ronson at their local hotel after the incident, where both women denied knowing the man.

From all the reports it seems that the club owner?s account is a little off: Combs lunged at Lohan but didn?t actually attack her. Most other websites are noting that not only did Lindsay and Samantha deny knowing him, but they didn?t actually realize what had happened. So I don?t think Combs ever made contact with Lohan. No articles mention where he?s from, but if he doesn?t live in Scottsdale this guy must really be into Lohan to travel for her. If that?s the case, he might be more of a danger than she realizes. Luckily Lindsay has a lot of bodyguards around her, but hopefully she?ll be mindful of her safety.

The AP reports that a 38-year-old male pushed his way through security guards at Jackrabbit Lounge in Phoenix to get close to Lindsay Lohan. Bouncers detained the man until officers took him away. He was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
When asked, Lindsay and Sam said they didn’t know the guy. This hurt the man’s feelings. He has now vowed to stalk Lindsay for sport instead of just pleasure. You’ve made a very powerful enemy Lohan. This man has access to resources beyond that of younger stalkers. Namely, heart medication, therapists and an ankle bracelet. Better watch your six you saucy red-haired vixen.

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen is rumored to be pregnant with her first child according to Star Magazine.
A source tells Star that the actress has been staying low key with the news because she’s in the early stages of her first pregnancy. “She and her husband are over the moon at the thought of becoming parents.”
“Tiffani wanted a baby so badly,” the source adds. “She had been seen going to a fertility center for treatments in Los Angeles to help her conceive.”
Tiffani and her husband Brady Smith have been married since 2005.

Brad Pitt is back in Berlin. He was videotaped eating lunch with his bodyguards at a restaurant today in Mitte, or the center of the city. Pitt is in the German capital filming Inglourious Basterds, directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Members of the unholy trinity are featured heavily on this week’s tabloid covers, which isn’t that much different from other weeks. Due to all the press both sides have been giving for the holiday release films, the tabloids have a hell of lot more to go on and can just use Brad, Jennifer and Angelina’s quotes along with some “insider” dime store psychology analysis.
My favorite cover is the surprised-looking Aniston on OK! “Obsessed with Angie!”, it reads, along with a bullet list of the ways that Aniston is revealing this so-called obsession. Their teaser article online quotes an insider as calling Aniston “pathetic” for bringing up Angelina so often in recent interviews.
People has Jen grabbing a cute Marley with the title “My year of surprises.” They have an online segment in which she answers user-submitted questions. Aniston says that she learned from dating “That if you start to date somebody, by the third date, you can guarantee I’ll be pregnant with twins. ”
Star pushes Angelina to the side to focus on Brad and Angelina’s “$200 million prenup.” Haven’t we heard this story many times before?
US says that there are problems in Jennifer Lopez’s amazingly long marriage of four years to Marc Anthony. She attended an event without her wedding ring, and US offers other evidence like “they barely spoke” on Thanksgiving and are fighting over the twins. US reported just last week that they spent their first weekend apart (link leads to video) since their twins were born nine months ago. Marc partied at nightclubs in New York and Las Vegas, and was even seen cozying up with Eva Longoria. (Does that woman flirt with everyone? There’s a photo of her touching Russell Crowe’s knee in this week’s Star.) If these two do get divorced I hope details are leaked to the public. Given Anthony’s problems paying his taxes and their expensive taste I would bet they’re way overextended.
In Touch also has an inset on the cover about “Rumors of a Split” for J.Lo and Marc, with “The FEUD” between Angelina and Jen on the cover.
Life & Style takes a softer approach with a focus on new celebrity babies in a “Baby’s First Christmas” issue.
The Enquirer has the sad and very suspicious case of the disappearance of little two year-old Caylee Anthony. The bones of a small child were just found about a half mile from her mother’s house, who was charged with murder even before the discovery.
Globe has a supposed divorce between Laura and George Bush. Since they’re focusing on the money I would bet it just involves Bush selling off some stock or holdings and they’re spinning it into a more sensational story.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s wedding in Mexico wasn’t officially binding in the US and was purely symbolic for the cameras. Spencer pledged that he would make it legal in the states, and just like everything else these two do, the gesture was only on the surface. They filmed scenes in an LA courthouse of their supposed follow-up civil wedding for their reality show “The Hills,” but they did it after hours, used an actor for the judge and never filed the necessary paperwork for a license.
MTV was granted permission to film “what purported to be a wedding outside of court hours” at the Beverly Hills courthouse, court spokesman Allan Parachini said Tuesday. He did not know who the participants were in the wedding, but Parachini said court officials wanted the filming to be treated as a news event.
The preview for next week’s season finale features a wood-paneled courtroom with the California state seal perched on the wall behind a judge. Civil ceremonies are sometimes performed at the Beverly Hills courthouse, but not in the manner portrayed in the brief preview. If a judge does preside, it is typically in chambers during a break, Parachini said.
Pratt, 25, and Montag, 22, acknowledged that their Nov. 19 marriage ceremony near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, was entirely symbolic, despite appearing on the Nov. 26 cover of Us Weekly with the headline “Heidi & Spencer Elope!” Monday’s episode of “The Hills” depicted the pair spontaneously agreeing to exchange vows after downing several shots of tequila.
“In my mind, it’s as legal as the ring on my finger,” Pratt told Us Weekly.
A check of marriage records last week did not reveal any filings by Pratt or Montag in Los Angeles County, although the couple could get married in any county in California as well as opt for a confidential license. Officials at two courthouses in neighboring Orange County said they have not received requests from MTV to film in their facilities.
The couple and MTV did not immediately return messages seeking comment Tuesday.

These two may be vapid and superficial, but if they’re taking pains to make sure their wedding isn’t real they’re not that stupid. Their co-star Lo Bosworth recently explained Heidi’s decision to get faux-married, saying “she was drunk!” She was sentient enough not to fully get married, although like everything else these two do that was probably Spencer’s idea.
Heidi and Spencer recently upgraded their cheap plastic wedding rings to more traditional versions. They’ve got to keep up appearances, and these two appear just about everywhere.

Now, possibly at the behest of Guy because he didn’t want to be made to look like a shifty dickwad, the ex-couple released a joint statement refuting the previous one.

“A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week,” it added.
“The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement. Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children.” Rosenberg said on Monday that custody arrangements for the couple’s children had not been finalized.
Madonna is pretty conniving. The one thing she didn’t count on, however, is that she’s a decaying old hag who’s so far removed from reality that she actually thinks she’s sexy and clever. Hence, no one is going to let her steamroll them. If she was hot with big tits, maybe, but she’s not. Foreplay with Madonna is like molesting an oak tree.

The Daily Mail has some quotes from Brad Pitt they attribute to Hello! Magazine, but maybe they’re in an upcoming issue because I have the current print edition and couldn’t find them there or on Hello!’s website. (Normally I wouldn’t be so skeptical, but this is The Daily Mail, so you have to verify their source.)
They say that Pitt mentioned that his children do get gifts for Christmas of course, but they’re not very expensive and they limit their access to television to make sure they’re not begging for stuff. The older Jolie-Pitt children also make gifts for each other and it sounds like they’ve made a nice tradition out of it. This is consistent with things Angelina has said in the past about encouraging her children to be creative through arts and crafts.
‘The kids don’t ask for big gifts for the reason that they don’t see a lot of the American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic.
‘When they do see that stuff is when they start asking for the toys, so we figure if they don’t see them they won’t know they’re there.
‘So we have gifts, but we try to keep the money spent to a minimum. The rule is that everyone’s got to make something for someone else, you got to put time into it.’
Pitt told the magazine his children have embraced the idea that they come from different countries.
He said: ‘As they’re getting older, we’ve been coming up with some idea for a ceremony for everyone around this time, but right now, it’s still at the ideas stage.’
Speaking about his family life, Pitt said cheerfully: ‘We haven’t found any reason to stop yet.’
He continued: ‘It’s chaos at times but there’s also such joy in our house right now.
‘I look down at the family and I see our boy from Vietnam (Pax) and our daughter from Ethiopia (Zahara) and our girl’s from Namibia (Shiloh was born there) and our son who’s from Cambodia (Maddox), and… they are all brothers and sisters, man.
They are all the same blood. It is such elation to see them all living together, and getting along together, and to know that we were able to give them a home - in some cases, to give them a life.
‘It’s a wonderful thing that we are able to do this because of the jobs we have - and it’s a selfish thing, too, because the rewards are extraordinary.
‘We’ve always said that we’ll carry on until we find a reason to stop doing this - and, no, we haven’t found that reason yet.’
And giving some fatherly tips he told the magazine: ‘You know the secret of good nappy-changing?
‘You got to do it quick. There’s something about the air contact that makes them want to go again, so you got to get in there and get them changed before that happens, because those things stink!
‘I’m pretty good at being quick, I must say - got it down by now.’

It’s not just American TV that features flashy ads to encourage kids to beg, and Brad would know that if his kids watch any local TV in Berlin. Advertising aimed at children is pretty universal around the world. That’s a cute story that the children are making each other presents and it’s nice they’re trying to dissuade them from coveting big toys. As many parents know from experience, those flashy plastic masterpieces are only interesting for so long. My son’s favorite toy is a box we cut holes out of for his head and arms. He loves running around the house pretending to be a robot. He plays with that much more than the giant hot wheels set he just had to have.

The Oscar-winning actress blew weakly into the long wooden instrument when she appeared on the TV show with fellow star Hugh Jackman to promote her latest movie, Australia. Aboriginal tribes were far from amused when they saw pictures of the actress blowing into the instrument.
‘It will mean she has no more children. It is not meant to be played by women as it will make them barren,’ said Aboriginal language teacher Richard Green.

Given how aggressive the British tabloids and paparazzi can be, I?m not surprised that the couple might be trying to avoid anything to fuel the fires of fame. Except for, you know, starring in films and making albums and touring the world, and appearing at award ceremonies and just generally being public figures.
It must be hard to find the balance between courting fame and remaining private. Particularly in the case of Chris Martin, who before marrying Gwyneth wasn?t terribly famous. Gwyneth was familiar with how a celebrity couple can be more famous than their work, as she was the girlfriend and fianc of Brad Pitt for three years.
