You may want to sit down for this one. Not content to just send out Goopy newsletters showing off her affordable winter collection of $2,000 “off-brand” scarves, Gwyneth Paltrow has joined Instagram.
And like all things social that find their way into the hands of the olds, she hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet. Her first post was just a picture of her with fashion designer Jason Wu. Except, it’s a picture from WhoSay. So she basically took a selfie of herself and Jason Wu, put it on WhoSay, downloaded the picture off WhoSay and posted it to Instagram.
She’s like your grandma who double clicks everything on the computer and ends up opening 100 windows and calls you up because there’s apparently a virus on her computer now.

Britney Spears called into The TJ Show on AMP 103.3 in Boston this morning and admitted that she’s under a lot of pressure to return to that hyper-sexualized image she once had. She reminisced about when it wasn’t like that and dreams of a day when it can just be about the dance.
“A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you?re dancing the whole video, and there?s like not that much sex stuff going on.”
“It?s about the dance and it?s about being old school, it?s like keeping it real and just making it about the dance. I?d love to do a video like that.?
Is she talking about”Hit Me Baby” when she wore the school girl outfit, “Slave” when she was all sweaty and writhing around, “Oops I Did It Again” when she wore that cameltoe revealing bodysuit or “Toxic” when she dressed in that stewardess outfit that gave everyone a slight upskirt shot?
Britney went on to explain how she had to put her foot down and force them to cut out the racier parts of her new video “Work Bitch.”
“Oh my god, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there. Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it?s just hard to play sexy mom while you?re being a pop star as well.”

Rihanna’s video came out around the same time which made Britney’s seem like a Disney video by comparison. Oh, you danced around in hot pants and a bra? Rihanna was bouncing her ass up and down in water and making it rain with her vagina.
The DJ then asked if Britney’s people were pushing her further than she wanted to go and whether she sat in the editing room not budging on anything she found too sexual. She gave a nervous laugh and says, “Yes.”

She's super hyped for her Vegas residency shows, but Britney Spears admits she's constantly struggling with the pressures to use sex to sell her music.
During an interview with Boston's "The TJ Show" on Thursday (October 3), the 31-year-old singer discussed her latest single "Work B****" and its overly-racy music video.
"Oh my God, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for that video then what is actually there," Spears explained. "Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it's just hard to play sexy mom while you're being a pop star as well."
Britney continued, "A lot of sex goes into what I do. Sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you're dancing the whole video and there's like not that much sex stuff going on."
"It's about the dance and it's about being old school, it's like keeping it real and just making it about the dance. I'd love to do a video like that," she added.

Unless you?re a die-hard loonie for Brad Pitt or you?re just fascinated by insidery-industry pieces, I wouldn?t really suggest reading the new cover story from The Hollywood Reporter. THR is all about 12 Years a Slave ? which I totally want to see, of course ? but more than that, the piece is all about Brad Pitt and how he?s an amazing producer and Plan B (his company) is the wave of the future. You can read the full piece here. I guess some gloating was in order, and everything has come together beautifully for Brad this year. He had two potential failures with World War Z and 12 Years a Slave, but both turned out beautifully. WWZ has made more than $500 million and 12 Years is a shoo-in for many Oscar nominations. After years of making artsy films that no one saw, Brad has finally come into his own as a producer. Which is the point of this story. Here are some highlights:
Brad on the criticism and bad press he received for WWZ and 12 Years: Pitt, rather than giving in to his critics, dug in his heels and thought, “Game on, f—ers.”
On a WWZ sequel: “We are talking about it,” says Pitt. “We are going to investigate a script. We have a lot of ideas we will cull from. Nobody is writing just yet, but we are compiling our ideas.”
Brad?s love of 1960s and ?70s films: “I’m a fan of film first and was since I was a little boy sitting in Missouri,” he notes. “I go back to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and All the President’s Men. And Dr. Strangelove is still the funniest film I have ever seen.” As to more recent work, he adds: “There Will Be Blood is one of my absolute favorites; incredible, a whole film dedicated to someone’s hatred.”
Meeting Steve McQueen (director of 12 Years): “We met in London over a couple of bottles of wine,” recalls Pitt, “and ended up talking until the wee hours of the night about art and history — he was a video artist first.” (McQueen, 43, is a recipient of Britain’s Turner prize, its most prestigious award for an artist under age 50.)
Henry Louis Gates is a consultant on 12 Years!! The book, a best-seller that sold 27,000 copies when it was published in 1853, is one of a mere 101 “fugitive slave narratives” written before the Civil War, says Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates, a consultant on the film. Of those, only this one “is the narrative of a free man who was kidnapped and manages in this case to be liberated.”
Brad wants to be a producer more than an actor: “As I get older, I am enjoying more the producorial side of things — not being so forefront in the camera — the creativity of putting the pieces together.”
Plan B?s strategy: “We follow the storytellers, and our little garage band of a production company’s mandate was [always] to help complex films get over the hill if they need a little push. We are in a fortunate position to do that.”

Basically, Brad really wants an Oscar this year. And who knows, he might get it. I think there?s probably a better chance that Brad will get an Oscar for producing 12 Years rather than Chiwetel Ejiofor for Best Actor. That?s not a slam on Chiwetel ? I just think that the buzz is about the whole movie rather than Chiwetel?s performance in particular. That being said, Michael Fassbender has been getting singled out a lot, hasn?t he? Unf. Please let Brad, Michael, Chiwetel, Idris Elba and Benedict Cumberbatch all get invitations to the Oscars! PLEASE.

I’ll be totally honest and admit to writing about this topic because I wanted an excuse to talk about Katy Perry’s various outfits at Paris Fashion Week. All of these outfits (except for the one above, which I like) are pretty awful. Katy seems to favor warring doily patterns and unflattering Pink numbers now. I know, I should just be happy that her booty isn’t hanging out like it was last year. I like how she makes Karl Lagerfeld laugh. Who knew that was possible?

Here are some photos of the always lovely and pale Cate Blanchett at last night?s NY Film Festival. She flew into NYC from London especially for this ? a gala tribute in her honor, a tribute for her decades and a half of extraordinary work. It doesn?t hurt that many people feel she?s the ?one to beat? for this year?s Best Actress Oscar race. Cate wore this pale Pink Armani Prive dress and Roger Vivier heels. I could do without the nude heels, quite honestly. Duchess Kate has ruined nude heels for me, although Kate isn?t the only one who over-works the nude heel (Angelina Jolie is another one). As for pale girls wearing pale colors? imagine how stunning this dress would have been in red or even gold. Yes, this washes her out but then again, she?s Cate Blanchett and she can do whatever she wants.
Alec Baldwin toasted his Blue Jasmine costar at the gala tribute and Woody Allen sent in a video praising her talents. I know many of you loathe Woody but when it comes to Cate?s Oscar race, I find it fascinating that Woody seems to be going above and beyond to support Cate?s chances. Usually, Woody wouldn?t be bothered to support his actors, but he?s putting some effort into Cate?s Oscar race. She also did a Q&A which went something like this:
Reflecting on her work at the Q&A, Blanchett was generally self-deprecating and funny in response to questions from soft-spoken Jones. They discussed, among other things, theater versus film acting (“I never expected to make a movie,” she said); her big-screen debut, at the age of 18, as an extra in an Egyptian film for which she was offered a small amount of money and falafel (“The falafel never came, so I left”); the pressure of playing Hollywood legend Hepburn (“Well, she died and she couldn’t play that role, and I was the schmuck who got that job”); and the biggest hits of which she was a part (“I didn’t know how to be an elf before I arrived in New Zealand” for The Lord of the Rings trilogy) — even if her son recently asked her, “Mom, when are you gonna make a blockbuster?”
The cineastes in the audience were particularly interested to hear about Blanchett’s experience working with mysterious Terrence Malick on the recently-wrapped Knight of Cups. “It was a cross between cinema, philosophy, poetry and a quasi religious experience,” she said. “It was certainly an extraordinary experience.” She continued, “He kept saying he wanted ‘to catch life on the wing,’” adding, “You weren’t so much playing characters as you were states of being.”
When audience members were eventually invited to ask questions of Blanchett, one asked her to name her favorite acting experience. She was initially reluctant, but said, “gun to my head,” that Gross und Klein, a German play in which she appeared in 2012, was her favorite in the theater, and that Blue Jasmine was her favorite on a film. Of the latter she said, “It felt like it was a culmination of my work in theater and my work in film, so it was satisfying on a number of different levels.”

These are photos of Olivia Wilde yesterday in Los Angeles. As you can see, she is sporting a plain sweatshirt, chewed-up jeans, and what looks like a makeup-free face. How does she still look so good? It’s not fair.
Poor Olivia though. She’s just been a part of yet another box-office dud after Rush underperformed last weekend. I think Kaiser was correct about Chris Hemsworth skating blame-free, but I think Olivia will have a harder time in the aftermath. Sure she wasn’t a main player in the film, but she did a ton of promotion, and it didn’t help. Pajiba put together a damning list of all her flops, and it isn’t pretty.
All is not lost yet. Olivia still has some films in the chute. She’s also starting to focus on her wedding.
Olivia and Jason plan to marry sometime next year in upstate New York. She plans to wear Monique Lhuillier. (Honestly, I’m surprised she’s not going to wear Marchesa.)
Olivia talks a little bit about her wedding in a new video interview with Vanity Fair. She admits to being a bit obsessed with the Starmeter feature on IMDb. She wants to direct. Then she says people shouldn’t spend their entire engagement planning a wedding: “It’s fun. It’s this great time. It’s like dating-plus.” Let’s go:
While Livvy and Jason will have only been engaged a year or two by the time they wed, she sounds like she’s in no big hurry, right? I agree that rushing from engagement straight into marriage is a waste of a good time. An engagement is such a wonderful, heady time where neither party has had a chance to break the other one’s spirit just yet. I know — I’m such a romantic.
It must have been odd at first for Jason to go into this relationship knowing that Olivia had once been married to a prince. Let alone one who murdered her vagina. No, I’m never letting that remark go.

I don?t really care when people lose their virginity. I?m not about judging women or men about when and how they ?lost it?. My first time was awful. My second time was awful. My third time was? well, you get the idea. When I do look back on those experiences, I?m embarrassed for myself and for the dudes. I didn?t know what I was doing and neither did they. I?ve known lots of women (and men) who?ve waited until their late teens and early 20s, and they seem to have a better time of it in general, or at least they have the maturity to not freak out when their first time isn?t all hearts, rainbows, unicorns and Big Os.
So, with all of that being said, is it shocking to learn that Rosario Dawson lost her virginity when she was 20 years old? I?m only surprised because she started acting and modeling when she was so young, and it seems like she was being pushed as ?sexy? years before she actually had sex.
Rosario Dawson has no problem getting personal. During a discussion about her 1995 film Kids — the very first film she ever made — the 34-year-old actress revealed what age she lost her virginity in real life.
“I got spotted on the street. I auditioned. I worked on it for four days,” Dawson recalled of the film to HuffPost Live on Tuesday, Oct. 1. At just 15, Dawson acted in the controversial Larry Clark film that centered on New York teenagers (at least one of them knowingly HIV-positive) doing drugs and having unprotected sex. But, as Dawson pointed out, her character Ruby wasn’t someone she could relate to at the time.
“I didn’t even have sex until I was 20,” the 10 Years star admitted. “My mom was a teenage mom, I was deathly afraid of being a teenage mom.”
And as for the film’s uncomfortable sex scenes, it surprisingly didn’t alarm her parents one bit!
“With all the insanity that my character goes through, the only thing they cared about was not smoking,” she joked.
Though the stunning actress didn’t mind sharing her sexual awakening, Dawson would later down the road keep tight-lipped about several of her romances after the mid-90s project. The Chavez star was briefly linked to Joshua Jackson in 2002 and split from French DJ Mathieu Schreyer in 2011 after three years together. She would later date Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle for eight months before splitting in December 2012.

Confession: I never saw Kids. I know, I know. It?s a super-important film and it launched blah blah. Sorry, I never saw it. But I remember the buzz around it and I remember how Rosario was considered the hot new ?Indie It Girl?. Whatever. I bet she?s glad she waited until she was 20. Waiting until your 20 is so much better than doing it when you?re a dumb teenager and you don?t know what the hell you?re doing.
Meanwhile, I still wonder what happened between Rosario and Michael Fassbender. Remember that? They dated briefly in March-April of this year, shortly after Michael and Nicole Beharie split up. I guess they just couldn?t find time to be together. Michael seems like a very ?love the one you?re with? kind of dude.

Heading out to accept a special honor, Cate Blanchett arrived at the Gala Tribute to her at the New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Wednesday (October 2).
The "Elizabeth" star looked gorgeous in a pale peach lacy dress that seemed to match her skin tone as she posed for photos outside.
In a statement the Film Society said that she and Ralph Fiennes, who will also accept an honor on October 9th, are among the artists "who have made significant artistic contributions to film culture in the past and will continue to do so in the future."
Currently, there's Oscar buzz around Cate for her role in "Blue Jasmine," a Woody Allen film about a troubled New York socialite who arrives in San Francisco to stay with her sister.

It came from the Frederick’s of Hollywood’s formal wear section, and it showed Eva Longoria no mercy. It looks just like this Pink lace doily I would use as an ornamental rug in my Barbie Doll Dream House whenever I wanted to designate that room “the ballroom.” Because Pink and lace are fancy, you see. My seven-year-old self would think this was the prettiest dress she’d ever seen.
WHY THIS DOESN’T WORK:
1. The color. Hot Pink is just not a good color for lace. I’m sure under the right circumstances and with perfect tailoring and just as an accent, you could make hot Pink lace work, but 99.99% of the time, it’s an outfit death sentence. Those aren’t odds aren’t in your favor.
2. Sheer overkill (closeup of the dress here). With the sheer/cutout trend, the trick is finding just the right balance between what you expose and what you don’t. Too much flesh just looks cheap.
3. Ruffles. You can do ruffles and lace, but less is generally more. Lace has enough texture on its own — it doesn’t need the added volume of ruffles. It’s too much frippery.
