Gabrielle Union has been with Dwyane Wade for years now. Gabrielle was accused of being ?the other woman? when Wade?s first marriage to Siohvaughn Funches broke down, and when I say that, I mean that Siohvaughn openly accused Gabrielle of being a shady homewrecker. Wade and Funches had two sons together, Zaire and Zion, plus Wade is raising his nephew Dahveon. Plus, Wade got another woman pregnant when he was with Gabrielle, so there?s another boy, Xavier, in the mix too. Basically, when Gabrielle married Wade in 2014, she became a stepmother to four growing boys (two of whom are teenagers now). I always wondered why Gabrielle and Dwyane didn?t have a child together, but Gabrielle always talked about how she didn?t really want kids of her own in interviews. Now, in her new book, Gabrielle reveals that she actually did want or does want kids, but she?s had big problems carrying a pregnancy. Her book is called We?re Going to Need More Wine. This is a sad story:
Gabrielle Union has revealed she has suffered multiple miscarriages in attempted to have a much-longed for baby with NBA star husband Dwyane Wade. In her new book We?re Going to Need More Wine ? excerpted exclusively in the new issue of PEOPLE ? the star of BET?s Being Mary Jane opens up about her struggles with infertility and failed IVF treatments.
?I have had eight or nine miscarriages,? Union, 44, writes in the book. ?For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant ? I?ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.?
While Union has spoken about IVF previously, she did not reveal the heartbreaking struggle she has faced. But even after enduring three years of failed IVF cycles and being constantly bloated from the hormones, Union writes that she and Wade ?remain bursting with love and ready to do anything to meet the child we?ve both dreamed of.?
The pair tied the knot in August 2014 and at first, the star didn?t see children as part of her future. But, after realizing how much joy she felt raising three boys with Wade, 35 ? his nephew Dahveon Morris, 16, and sons from a previous marriage Zaire, 15, and Zion, 10 (Wade?s third son Xavier, 3, conceived with another woman while Wade and Union were broken up, lives with his mother) ? Union first discovered that having a baby was something she wanted.
?I never wanted kids,? she tells PEOPLE. ?Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I?d rather be than with them.?
Dealing with infertility while being in the public eye hasn?t been easy for Union, who constantly is reminded of her struggle each time she?s asked by both family and strangers alike when she?s having kids.
?For so many women, and not just women in the spotlight, people feel very entitled to know, ?Do you want kids?’? she says. ?A lot of people, especially people that have fertility issues, just say ?no? because that?s a lot easier than being honest about whatever is actually going on. People mean so well, but they have no idea the harm or frustration it can cause.?
?Once a month I look like I?m in my second trimester because I?m bloated,? she says. ?It leads to the questions and it leads to the rumors and anytime I go into a doctor?s office I feel like I?m a member of SEAL Team Six undercover because I don?t want people to speculate.?

As I said, I?ve always idly wondered why Gabrielle and Dwyane didn?t try to have a child together. But she?s absolutely right – those kinds of questions and speculations are frustrating to women who are going through fertility issues. Not to mention, those conversations are none of my business. Still, people are going to gossip. Everyone gossips, and it?s not always done with an evil or shady motivation. Sometimes, people are just curious and mean no harm. And now they?ll know – Gabrielle?s fighting a war with her own body. Nine miscarriages? my God. Poor Gabrielle.

I never saw Avatar, does that make me a bad person? What if I said I never saw it because I never wanted to? So, it remains to be seen if I will catch any of the four Avatar sequels planned, but I wouldn?t hold my breath if I were you. Especially because the first sequel doesn?t arrive until 2020. One person that will catch the sequel is Kate Winslet who it was just announced will be playing the role of Ronal, whoever that is. Of course, outlets are all a-titter because this pairs Kate with her Titanic director James Cameron and that went over so well the first time, surely lightening will strike twice, right? Never mind that there isn’t anything remotely similar about the two movies ? it?s Winslet and Cameron together again! And according to Cameron, they are super stoked to work together again! Mm?kay.
Kate WinsletandJames Cameronhave a little history. Two decades ago she starred in his global juggernautTitanic, which was the top-grossing film of all time until Cameron?sAvatarcame along in 2009. Now the two are reuniting for the first time since the Big Boat sailed ? Winslet has signed on for a starring role in the ongoingAvataradventureat Fox.

Production for all four plannedAvatarsequels officially began on September 25 in Manhattan Beach, CA. The first film will be released on December 18, 2020. The second sequel will open on December 17, 2021, followed byAvatar 4in December 20, 2024 andAvatar 5on December 19, 2025.

Because 20 years ago, Kate told the LA Times, “I would only work for Jim Cameron again for a lot of money,? in large part because Cameron was such a colossal horse?s @ss on the set of Titanic. He reportedly liked to practically drown his cast and when they they?d get their heads back above water, he?d scream at them. He also assigned cute nicknames for some. As for Kate, who was bullied her whole life for her weight, self-proclaimed women’s champion Cameron called her Kate Weighs-A-Lot. Cameron’s response to Kate?s comments? She was, ?just letting off a little steam,? because her career was riding on carrying Titanic. Hmm, that might be part of it but let?s not discount the ?Cameron?s a horse?s @ss? part. Later, when Kate commented on how the movie?s signatures (the song, the bow of the boat pose, the sinking) followed her everywhere, Cameron suggested, ?it?s been 16 years, like, come on, Kate. Get over it.? She wasn?t even criticizing the movie, she just doesn?t want people singing My Heart Will Go On every time she walks in a room.
However, just five years ago, Kate did change her tune. When the 3D version of Titanic was released in 2012, Kate was asked about Cameron?s behavior and she softened her answer to include the caveat, ?Yes, he lost his temper, but he only ever lost his temper for really, really good reasons.” I think it?s all true. I think Titanic was stressful because of its size and the conditions, I think Cameron was wretched on set and thought everyone should just thank him for being a part of his movie and I think he offered Kate a ton of money to work on the Avatar sequel. I know Avatar was popular and I?m sure it was a good film. But honestly, the only way I am going to get excited about its sequel is if they hire Leonardo DiCaprio to play a character named Papyrus.

I keep telling you guys, my mojo is really ?off? this year when it comes to box office predictions and Rotten Tomato scores. Pretty much every film that I think looks terrible is some kind of critical darling and it makes a lot of money. Every film that I think looks good has been bombing. So it is with Blade Runner 2049. I kept seeing all of the hype machine stuff for the film, and I kept thinking, ?yeah, but is anyone really interested?? It just seemed like a gigantic shrug to me. But the film is currently sitting at 94% at Rotten Tomatoes, and critics absolutely love it. Box office predictors say that the film will open with $100 million worldwide, possibly more, and that this could be the biggest film of Ryan Gosling?s career. So? once again, I was wrong. People are into it. Dystopian future films are the future!
Anyway, all of that to say that I haven?t been paying close attention to the promotional tour of Blade Runner 2049. Ryan Gosling is always pretty charming, but Harrison Ford is such a grumpy bastard, I just thought? there will be no spark as they try to promote this film together. Once again, I was wrong! They are delightful together. Their joint interviews have been hilarious and silly and they have great chemistry together. Take this clip from last weekend?s Graham Norton Show:
Very cute. But that was just a precursor to this absolutely amazing joint interview with Alison Hammond on This Morning (Gosling and Ford were shilling this movie in Britain and Europe for weeks). Please watch this, because you?ll be laughing through the entire clip. Hammond is HILARIOUS and she gets Ford and Gosling so loose.
I don?t think I?ve seen Harrison so lively and off-the-cuff in a long time. This honestly is the best thing I?ve seen all week!
