Remember when Brendan Fraser was hot stuff? I think that was the mid to late 90s, around the time he looked super sexy in ’92?s Encino Man (I loved that movie) and kind of peaked in 99?s The Mummy. Fraser, 44, hasn’t been working steadily, he’s no longer a box office draw and he’s done some terrible films lately to make ends meet.
In 2009 he divorced his wife, the mother of his three sons, after over 10 years of marriage. Fraser been paying a whopping $900,000 a year in child support and alimony since their split, and he recently filed to have the amount reduced. Fraser claims that his earning power has dimmed considerably and that he can no longer keep up the payments for his kids. After sitting through Furry Vengeance, I believe it. The ?Mummy?? movies made him one of the world?s highest-paid actors, but Brendan Fraser suggests that he couldn?t land a job afterward.
His ex-wife isn?t buying it.
In Connecticut court last week, Fraser?s ex, Afton Smith, 45, accused the 44-year-old star of ?fraud? for making the claim while allegedly hiding $9 million in new film contracts when they settled their divorce in February 2009.
The allegation came after Fraser went to court to try to reduce the $900,000 in alimony and child support he annually pays his 45-year-old ex-wife, insisting he no longer earns enough to justify that amount.
Court records and testimony reveal that, at the time of his split from the lesser-known actress, Fraser bizarrely claimed that he expected to make $0 ? that?s zero dollars ? from acting work in the future, despite an impressive rsum of high-grossing films including the three ?Mummy? flicks, ?Journey to the Center of the Earth? and ?George of the Jungle.?
He later claimed he said that because he wasn?t aware of any definite future deals at the time.
Fraser acknowledged he since has acted in several movies ? some of which are awaiting release.
But he cited a litany of medical issues that he says have put a ?considerable? crimp on his ability to earn future big bucks.
Afton?s lawyer noted that, as of December, the actor had $24.7 million in assets.
Hearings in the legal sequel to Fraser?s nine-year marriage to Afton ? with whom he has three young sons ? are set to resume in Stamford Superior Court next week, with Fraser still on the witness stand.

Checking his IMDB, Fraser had only two films in 2010, one film in 2011, and nothing last year. This year he’s really working hard and has about eight movies coming up, according to IMDB. He may have just taken lousy roles out of desperation, it’s hard to tell.
I want to know what kind of medical problems he was suffering. I’m really curious to hear about that. Did he hurt his back or something? I think I found it… In 2001, while filming The Mummy Returns, Director Stephen Somers said that Fraser was injured on set. “I blew up Brendan’s knee, broke one of his ribs, and tore a disc in his back. Every once in a while, when you see a pained look on Brendan’s face, he ain’t faking it.” That might explain his weight gain. I’m just saying. I would still hit it.
As for 900k a year in child support and alimony, that sounds insane to me and like you won the Powerball. If he’s not making that kind of money anymore his ex wife should scale down a little. This isn’t a case where the kids are going to have to suffer. It’s possible he’s hiding assets though as she claims.

Here are some photos of Rihanna in London immediately prior to the Saturday debut of her fashion line for River Island at Fashion Week. She’s wearing a hat that says “high fashion advisory” and is wearing one of Chris Brown’s jackets (which is covered with tacky-looking hearts) because who the hell knows. Maybe they didn’t break up after all, or maybe they broke up and got back together, or maybe she’s just unhealthily addicted to a majorly violent douche. Or all three of the above.
After the show, Rihanna hit the clubs (of course), and she was reportedly “assaulted” by “a crazed fan“ who, ironically, yelled at her for getting back with Chris Brown. The fan reportedly threw a bottle of Lucozade in RiRi’s direction, and she (trying to duck, I guess) fell against a metal grating and scraped her knee. Hollywood Life has spoken to a Breezy insider who says Chris was very concerned about the incident and also adds, “It’s f–ked up someone would do that to Rihanna, and mention Chris in the same sentence. He?s hurt over stuff like that.” Yeah, Chris is upset about Rihanna when someone else hurts her. When he hurts her, we’re supposed to just forget about it.

For better or worse, Kate Upton is all the rage now in the modelling world. Here she is doing more promotion for Sports Illustrated in a very flattering white dress, and in the past several months, she’s not only covered the SI: Swimsuit edition for the second consecutive year, but she’s also been branching out into full-fledged fashion circles with Vogue UK and Vogue Italia covers and a Vogue US spread, among other endeavors. Not bad for a “curvy” girl, right?
As I’ve noted more than once, none of Kate’s success has stopped the shameful body criticism from continuing, and Kate’s polar-boob shoot has served not only to please countless men but also to reignite a lot of sniping over Kate’s atypical (for a model) bikini body. I’ve really been trying to understand the complaints about Kate’s body, but I’m coming up empty on explanations other than possibly because she has a low hip-to-waist ratio. I still think that’s wrong though, and I believe that all of this criticism is affecting her no matter what Kate says to the contrary.
Recently I was a bit surprised when Chrissy Teigen, lover of all things food, admitted going on a 10-day cleanse immediately before the latest SI: swimsuit shoot. Here’s something that’s truly shocking though — for four months prior to the same shoot, Kate adhered to a cleanse two weeks out of every month. She also worked out with a personal trainer twice a day. Seriously, there’s even a People story on this:

We chatted with David Kirsch, the trainer who primed Kate Upton for her second Sports Illustrated cover, and let’s just say: Upton must be exhausted.
Kirsch began working with the supermodel back in August, and for the first two weeks, Upton met with him for sessions twice a day. From then on, the model exercised five to six days per week for one and half to two hours until the photo shoot in December.
“[She did] boot camp circuit training mixed in with cardio,” Kirsch tells PEOPLE. “Running, rowing and the elliptical.” He adds that there are six regions a model needs to focus on for an SI: Swimsuit Edition shoot: “Legs, inner thighs, hips, butt, abs and arms. Anything that shows when you?re wearing a bathing suit. Which is … everything!” (Especially when that bathing suit is as tiny as some of the ones Upton sported!)
It wasn?t just the constant sweat sessions that got Upton ready to strip down; she was also extremely careful about what she ate. “She followed my ABC’s – no alcohol, bread or processed carbs – and no sugar – 24/7 with no cheat days,” the trainer reveals.
Along with not eating pasta, pizza, candy or apparently anything else that tastes delicious, Upton did Kirsch’s seven-day cleanse for two weeks out of every month they worked together. And during the other two weeks? She regularly drank protein shakes and green drinks to stay energized.
Despite all that, Kirsch says Upton didn’t complain once throughout the exhaustive process. Though, the same can’t be said about Upton while she was kneeling on an iceberg in nothing but a string bikini. But can you really blame her?

All of that and yet still, people have the nerve to label this girl as fat. These are extreme measures for sure — maybe not for a model in general but definitely for one who is being held up as more “normal” looking than the rest of them. The simple fact that Kate was willing to cleanse for 50% of her life for four months and also workout twice per day tells me that even this “healthy” girl has an unavoidably unhealthy outlook on food. And I’m afraid with all this criticism that she’s only going to get more obsessive as her career progresses.

Something weird is happening with Twihard-friendly tabloid media ? they don?t know how to play some recent developments between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Like, most of the more tabloid-y media will spin whatever K-Stew or Sparkles story to make it sound like it?s always true love or that Kristen has done something wrong but that Sparkles still loves her. But Rob has been in Australia for WEEKS and Kristen still hasn?t gone to visit him and it?s looking more and more like they?re in the midst of some kind of break. But the Twihard-Industrial-Complex doesn?t want to come out and say it, so it?s almost like they?re trying to ease into the news.
First, The Sun (blah!) reported that Kristen has been ?bombarding Rob with phone calls? while he?s been away, but that he?s not taking any of her calls. You know why? Because he?s on the phone with Liberty Ross! Allegedly. Probably not. The Sun claims Rob ?has been providing a shoulder to cry on since Liberty started divorce proceedings with her husband because of his affair with Kristen? Funnily enough Robert?s always thought Liberty was gorgeous since he first spotted her in a magazine as a teen. They?re keen to meet up when they?re both in London in March.? Yeah? I don?t understand why that?s a theory that?s getting so much play. I will believe most conspiracies about Rob and Kristen, but I just flat-out doubt Rob gives a crap about Liberty Ross in any way.
But! Hollywood Life (Twihard Central) is now claiming that Kristen ?considers herself single now?. EPIC.
It looks like the trial separation Robert Pattinson asked Kristen Stewart for has led to a complete split ? the 22-year-old actress now considers herself a single woman, a source close to the Twilight star reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Rob was battling the trust issues he was still holding on to after her affair with Rupert Sanders, he thought it would be best to separate from Kristen, especially while he was so far away for work. But a source tells HollywoodLife.com that Kristen has been so fed up with Rob keeping her at arm?s length, she?s starting to move on.
?Rob has pushed Kristen away too much ? she considers herself single now,? a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
But even though things are done with Rob for the moment, Kristen isn?t dwelling on the past ? she?s ready to move on with the right guy.
?She would totally date to get her mind off of him, but she doesn?t want to be seen out on first dates by the paparazzi ? she?s very private. She wants to be with someone who wants her, and she?s done apologizing for cheating. If she goes to Australia at this point, it will simply be to get closure ? they?re both done,? the source adds.

God, I hope this is true. I would really, really like to see the celebrity ecosystem with a single Sparkles and a single Kristen mixing it up. I have the feeling that Kristen will get a boyfriend again very quickly, and that the Twihards will make the new guy?s life a living hell. And I think Rob will date around for a while, and that it will get very, very interesting because there will be a TON of celebrity women trying to ride the Sparkles Train.

Here are some lovely new photos of Emma Watson in NYC. She was taking a ?stroll? in New York with her boyfriend of a year, Will Adamowicz, who is a Yank (as they say). Will and Emma met at Brown University back when she attended Brown, and apparently Adam and Emma both transferred to Oxford at the same time too. So? it?s love! I?ve never paid much attention to Will, but he?s cute in that particular college-guy kind of way. He looks like the kind of guy I would have liked in college too. Sort of brainy and decent-looking, like he comes from a good family and has a good future career planned. I?m guessing that they spent Valentine?s Day in New York? I wonder if he took her to the Empire State Building?
By the way, what IS going on with her education? I stopped paying attention after everyone yelled at me and threw hissy fits every time I mentioned that Emma seemed to be playing fast and loose with her whole ?I?m just a college girl? thing. Is this her final year of university or has she just stopped going? Is she still at Oxford? Is she taking off for another semester? I really don?t know.
Did you know that after she met Will, Emma seemed to swear off British men? True story. Last year when she was on Ellen?s show, Emma said: ?English guys are very well put together. They dress really well and they are very well mannered. But they are also very restrained. Usually in the whole courting situation, I?m used to being first of all, ignored for the first two months of the ritual. And then maybe they’ll acknowledge my presence. Then, they’ll probably be a little mean to me. And then, maybe we’ll, you know…whatever. Then I arrive in America, and I remember a few nights into Brown [University], this guy just being like, ‘I like you. You’re great. Let’s go on a date. Let’s do it.’ I’m like, ‘I’m sorry, what just happened?’ This is like a huge culture shock for me. They’re very like open and very straight-forward – but they wear flip-flops and I don’t know if I like that.? LOL. She likes that American men are forward but she hates our flip-flop culture.

Here are photos of Katie Perry and John Mayer looking loved up on Valentine’s Day, despite all sorts of sketchiness in this couple with reported cheating by both parties.
John and Katy were out on a date an Italian restaurant in these photos, and Katy was showing off a new ruby ring on her significant finger. The ring, which looks rather cheap to me (but I don’t like yellow gold), supposedly set John back 30,000, which equals approximately $46,563. So I guess those rumors about John going ring hunting were all too true, but don’t worry just yet. According to an insider who spoke with The Sun, this is only a “ commitment ring,” and in the eyes of John, commitment probably has an incredibly relative meaning:
John Mayer has set himself up for a massive dent in the bank balance if he decides to propose to Katy Perry.
She was pictured on Valentine’s Day with a ruby ring on her wedding finger.
But instead of getting engaged, John bought the missus a commitment ring to celebrate them moving in together.

Isn?t this bizarre? We rarely get paparazzi photos of Julia Roberts these days, and magically this weekend there are all of these photos of not just Julia, but Julia with her husband Danny Moder. And they?re holding hands and walking arm in arm and stuff. Weird! Is this some kind conspiracy pushback that I?m unaware of? I see blind items about A-list actresses and their low-key husbands all the time, and most of the guesses are always about Julia Roberts or Nicole Kidman. Has there been some kind of major ?maybe Julia?s marriage is in trouble? rumor out there, and this is the photo-op pushback? Or am I simply too much of a conspiracy theorist for my own good?
Anyway, yes, Julia and Danny were spotted in Santa Monica on Saturday. Apparently, they had lunch with friends and then went for a surprisingly pap-friendly walk around Santa Monica. What game are you playing, Julia?!?! Alternate theories: one, Julia is trying to remind people she?s still around, maybe because she wants a particular role or project. Two, Julia is about to commence on some kind of huge comeback, and these are the first steps towards easing herself back into the game. That might be it, actually? I could see Julia making an appearance at the Oscars next weekend, then following that up by signing on to some huge role, then she?s part of the big prestige picture August: Osage County, which comes out this fall/winter, and there will be an Oscar campaign for that. And then next year she has another prestigious project, The Normal Heart. So is this The Year of Julia? I wouldn?t hate it. Julia brings out strong opinions and she?s almost always a good interview, and she?s as big of a narcissist as all of the current greats ? Julia could out-narcissist Beyonce. I?m just sayin?.
Come on, Julia! Make a comeback!!

These are some photos from last night?s London screening of Nicole Kidman?s new movie, Stoker. I previewed the film last year when the first trailer came out ? Nicole seems to be doing a character role as ?the unstable mother? in a creepy horror/suspense film starring Mia Wasikowska in the lead role (Mia plays Nicole?s daughter). Matthew Goode is also in the film, and all three actors showed up for the first screening, which is evidence that they?re all proud of the film I think. Here?s the latest trailer? God, this looks so creepy.
First, let?s talk about Nicole. She wore L?Wren Scott, one of her favorite designers (and mine), and I kind of hate it. No, that?s a strong word. I don?t hate it. I just don?t like it on Nicole. The gold turtleneck part is weird/confusing. And I?m not sure about the shade of blue. But, like all L?Wren pieces, at least the tailoring is stellar, right?
Meanwhile, we need to have a conversation about Mia. We rarely talk about her because really I don?t have much to say other than? she?s incredibly talented and she doesn?t seem to do anything scandalous or gossip-worthy. She?s not campaigning for anything, she?s not partying like crazy, she?s not boning every costar (that we know of). She keeps her nose clean and she?s adorable and talented. But? BANGS. Itty-bitty bangs trauma is the worse. Believe it or not, I don?t believe ?bangs trauma? is a binary state. There are stages of bangs trauma, and this movement for itty-bitty, too-high bangs is one of the WORST. For me, it?s worse than the shaggy-dog, too-long, covering-the-eyes bangs trauma. I think girls who do these bangs look like alien Spocks. Mia?s dress is Christopher Kane, by the way. It?s blah. Also: Bonus Matthew Goode! He?s so handsome, but he?s such a douche.

Beyonce’sLife Is But a Dreamdocumentary premiered on HBO Saturday night. Not having watched it, I went looking for criticisms. Then I got lazy and started browsing Reddit. Nevertheless, before that happened, I read MTV’s review. The only criticism they had they posed in the form of a question. “Was it too polished?’ Not much of a critique since that’s like asking if my abs aretoo washboardy. (Yes)
Regardless, her fans loved it especially since 13-month-old Blue Ivy Carter made her first appearance since she was born. Beyonce’s kid graced us with her presence during a closeup toward the end of the documentary. Though quick, it was enough to bring everyone to their knees and cause them to weep towards the heavens. For you do not gaze upon the face of hip-hop royalty without experiencing such euphoria.
