While it?s always sad when a marriage comes to an end, I?ve been somewhat amused with the celebrity-media coverage of Robin Thicke and Paula Patton?s split thus far. It?s like people are going through the motions of ?this is so sad, no one was expecting it,? when really, everyone was expecting it and many of us believe that Robin had a wandering dong (or simply a wandering groping hand). Many of us also believe that Paula just got to the point where staying with Robin was getting embarrassing. So here?s TMZ?s confirmation of that:
Robin Thicke threw a Hail Mary last Friday to try to save his marriage … cancelling his Atlanta concert and flying to Canada to plead with his wife … TMZ has learned.
Sources connected with the couple tell us … Paula Patton told Robin Friday she wanted to end the marriage. Robin then abruptly cancelled his show, saying he had throat problems. But the cancellation was solely so he could sit with his wife and try to change her mind.
We’re told Paula — who is shooting a movie in Vancouver — and Robin had a long, face-to-face talk … both acknowledging they had not been getting along and frequently arguing.
Our sources say in the end Robin realized Paula was determined to end the marriage and reluctantly agreed, but was very upset. We’re told she was also upset.
The next day Robin cancelled his Orlando concert so he could be with their child.

I think it?s nice that Robin was the one to fly to Paula and try to talk her into staying with him. I mean, that?s nice for Paula, that at least her husband wanted to try to make it work in the end. It?s a much better situation than, say, Robin sending her a note saying, ?Got it. Smell ya later!? and partying with club girls that night.
E! News has a summary of Paula and Robin?s ?rocky year? and what?s interesting is just how many times Paula saved face even when there was mounting evidence that all was not well in their marriage.
Robin just canceled his show tonight in North Carolina too. I wonder? is Robin going to play this like ?she left me, I?m so devastated?? That will be interesting.

OMG. LOOK AT THIS OUTFIT. These are photos of Kim out and about yesterday in NYC. She had been wearing some cuter ensembles, but we can always trust Kim to self-sabotage. Seriously, who had the brilliant idea of putting a thick girl into high-waisted SATIN pants and a high-necked satin blouse?!?!? There are six-foot-tall, size-zero models who couldn?t pull off satin pants and a matching blouse, so you know Kim shouldn?t even attempt it. Plus, she always increases her alien-catface look when she does a center part and slicks down her hair. It?s not just a bad outfit ? it?s horrible styling overall. Awful. Just awful.
Anyway, you know how Kanye West?s main BFF is Riccardo Tisci, the head designer for Givenchy? Hubert de Givenchy is probably rolling over in his grave with where Tisci has taken the House of Givenchy, but whatever. Tisci gets a lot of love from fashion people, and Tisci has transferred some legitimacy onto Kanye and Kim. I always thought Tisci was passive-aggressive in the way he styled Kim, but I?ve read some interviews with him, and it does seem like he?s genuinely fond of both Kanye and Kim and he considers them friends. So here is Tisci offering his friendship once again, by comparing Kim to? Marilyn Monroe.
According to one of fashion world’s most prominent figures, Kim Kardashian is poised to be this generation’s American icon. In his latest interview with The Sunday Times, Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci likened the reality star to another famous bombshell, telling the British publication that Kardashian is the new Marilyn Monroe.
“I met her as the girlfriend of a good friend,” Tisci said, referring to their first encounter through Kardashian’s beau, Kanye West. “I just wanted a moment with her to understand — and I fell in love. She’s the Monroe of our age. People think she’s like a doll, but actually she’s tough and clever.”
He explained, “It’s not so much the beauty of people, but the talent, the roots and the intelligence that concern me. I love people who are not scared to fight for their own rights and have their own point of view. The world is big: the music world is big, the art world is big and the fashion world is big, but I think you can recognize a tribe in the similarity of people.”
But Tisci isn’t the first person to have made the comparison. Last November, Kardashian’s fiance West slammed Vanity Fair for putting model Kate Upton in a Monroe-themed photo shoot for its 100th issue, claiming that the mother of his daughter is more deserving of that gig.
“I have a love-hate relationship with the paparazzi, but actually I love them because they are empowering us. They are empowering us over Vanity Fair that want to say that Kate Upton is Marilyn Monroe,” he said. “Kate Upton ain’t Marilyn Monroe, Kim is Marilyn Monroe.”

I?m starting to wonder if Yeezington is Prof. Higgins and Tisci is Col. Pickering and Kim is their Eliza Doolittle ? their very special doll that they get to style and play with. Who will take credit for this satin look, though? And even then? I think it?s stupid to compare Kim to Marilyn. Not as stupid as comparing a crackhead like Lindsay Lohan to Marilyn, but it?s still tacky and dumb. Besides that, Kim seems to want to be Elizabeth Taylor (without the acting talent).

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West out and about on Sunday in NYC. I saw some sites saying something about Kim ?wearing fur? but I really don?t think her scarf thing is really fur. It looks faux fur to me, although I think her jacket is some kind of leather (maybe not? I don?t know). I do believe Kanye?s jacket is real fur though. And just after Khloe Kardashian reiterated her anti-fur position! So, there you go. Yeezington obviously hates Khloe.
On Sunday?s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim apparently got laser treatment on her boobs. She wanted to remove some stretch marks she got while pregnant, and the cameras followed her into the doctor?s office for the procedure. Kim?s original intention for going into the laser treatment place was to get something done on her hands (likely story), which she complained were ?really wrinkly? and she expressed a desire to ?tighten them.? HER HANDS. She wanted to tighten her hands! See, I don?t have an opinion one way or the other about stretch marks on your boobs or anything else. Stretch marks happen, and if someone wants to laser them off, so be it. But the thing that freaks me out is that she wanted to TIGHTEN her hands. And God knows, that?s not all Kim has gotten done.

Taking care of some media duties, Kaley Cuoco and her husband Ryan Sweeting headed over to the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City last night (February 24).
The ?Big Bang Theory? babe and her handsome mister were in the house for Kaley?s appearance on ?The Late Show with David Letterman? and they seemed to be having a blast during their stay in the Big Apple.
Meanwhile, Ryan took to his Instagram account to post a photo of his bloated belly following a massive Manhattan steak dinner. He captioned, Man dinner was goooood!!! Dessert time now!!#steakmakemehappy.?
In the following shot, Sweeting?s gut was back to its normal six-pack abs form and he captioned the pic, ?Everybody poops,? indicating he?d just had a sit-down!

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have separated. Are you surprised? I am not surprised that they?re over, but I?m slightly surprised that they haven?t spent more time forcing the ?happy marriage? storyline in the press. I guess it was difficult to keep up the faade when Robin continuously groped and flirted his way through nightclubs in NYC, Miami, Paris and London. Here?s their official announcement:
Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are ending their longtime marriage.
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” the singer and the actress told PEOPLE on Monday in an exclusive statement.
The pair, who first met when Thicke was 14, have been married since 2005 and welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010.
Thicke, 36, long had been very expressive about his marriage to Patton, 38, saying last fall, “We’re pretty sure we’ve loved each other for a few lives.”

Wow, Julian Fuego isn?t even four years old. So, do you think either Paula or Robin will take a hit publicly because of this separation? I don?t know. Robin will continue to do his ?aging lounge singer? shtick and he?ll probably be spending some time at the Playboy Mansion (or whatever the current equivalent is ? 1Oak?). Paula will continue to work as an actress and she?ll probably continue to be an utter fashion disaster. Oh, you know that?s coming ? she?ll get a ?breakup wardrobe? and it will be even tackier and more breast-suffocating than her married-lady clothes.
Oh, and sources tell Us Weekly: “It has been a long time coming… It is not a shock to Robin or Paula, and it is something they have discussed for a long time.” Dur. Yeah, we knew that.

Anyway, Angelina was in Lebanon yesterday to meet with the Lebanese prime minister about the epic Syrian refugee crisis. She?s actually in Lebanon as part of three-day trip in her capacity as UNHCR Special Envoy, and she attempting to draw even more attention to the state of the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees. Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to Lebanon to draw attention to the challenges facing thousands of Syrian refugee children and to highlight the massive displacement Syria’s three-year conflict has created, officials said Monday.
During a three-day visit, U.N. special envoy Jolie visited unaccompanied children living in the eastern Bekaa Valley, where much of the poorest Syrian refugees in Lebanon reside, as the United Nations Refugee Agency Special Envoy. The 3,500 children are those who were orphaned, or separated from their families as they fled into Lebanon.
They form part of the nearly one-third of all Syrians who have been displaced from their homes since an uprising against the President Bashar Assad began in March 2011. About 2.5 million Syrians have become refugees; and another 4.2 million are displaced within Syria, the U.N. estimates – some one-third of the country’s pre-war population.
‘Meeting these children was a heart-rending experience,’ said Jolie in a statement issued via the U.N. ‘They have lost their families and their childhood has been hijacked by war. They are so young, yet they are bearing the burdens of their reality as if they are adults.’
The tiny Mediterranean country of Lebanon, which neighbors Syria, has absorbed nearly one million refugees, swelling the country’s population by one-fifth. The concentrated numbers of refugees have overwhelmed Lebanon’s infrastructure, raised rents and flooded the public health and education systems throughout the country. The poorest refugees huddle in tents made out of old billboard advertisements on land they rent out from farmers in the Bekaa Valley; the shelters offer little against the country’s bitter winters and hot summers.
Parents of thousands of Syrian children have pulled them out of schools, because they cannot afford the modest Lebanese school fees, or because they need them to work – often as shoe shiners and car cleaners.
During her visit, Jolie called on the international community to ensure the implementation of a recent U.N. resolution that called for humanitarian assistance to reach Syrian civilians. On Saturday, the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution demanding immediate access everywhere in Syria for humanitarian aid. The resolution, which marked a rare instance of unity on the security council, doesn’t threaten sanctions but it does express the council’s intention to take ‘further steps’ if the resolution isn’t implemented
Jolie said her meeting was also to thank Lebanon for hosting the refugees.
‘The generosity and solidarity shown by Lebanon and Lebanese to its neighbor serves as an example to the world for which we should all be grateful. We all need to help them bear this burden,’ Jolie said.

No matter what she does, people will always be critical of Angelina for many parts of her life. But I?ve always had so much admiration for her UNHCR work, and I think she operates as special envoy with a great deal of compassion and intelligence. This is not some charity bandwagon issue ? Angelina?s focus has been consistently on the plight of refugees (often in areas of the world without a lot of media attention) for going on 14 years.

Here are some new photos of Hilary Swank in Milan on Sunday and Monday. She attended two events for Ferragamo, so I suspect she was paid to be there. It?s a nice life ? getting paid to fly to Italy and wear pretty clothes. I?m assuming both of the dresses in these photos are Ferragamo, and I find myself enchanted by the champagne satin one. Ordinarily, ?champagne satin? equals ?bad fashion? but this dress really works, doesn?t it? The shiny black dress is rather pretty too. My only complaint? She should do something with her hair.
Hilary has been in the wind for the past two years or so. After the Chechen dictator?s birthday party in 2011, Swank really went undercover. One of the last times we talked about her was in 2012, when she and her agent boyfriend broke up (he was her jumpoff after she and Chad Lowe split). We can literally go YEARS without new photos of Hilary, which is really weird because? she?s a two-time Best Actress winner. Weird, right? This year is actually the ten-year anniversary of Million Dollar Baby, the second time she won Best Actress. Well? at least she?s gotten better at choosing her side projects/paying gigs. No more birthday parties for Chechen dictators. Just light fashion appearances.
PS? Apparently the tall dude is James Ferragamo, the artistic director of Ferragamo. Do you think he?s just acting as a friend/handler for Hilary or is there something else there? Hm.

On Sunday (February 23), Kourtney took to her Instagram account to share a snapshot of Kanye West's final show of his Yeezus tour at the Nassau Coliseum.
"I just talked to Jesus, he said what up Yeezus. #YeezusTour #LastShow," Miss Kardashian captioned the photo, featuring the stage as Kanye performed his last number.
Kim also was able to enjoy her fiance's big show and managed to get a closer shot to post on her own account and wrote "Yeezus Tour last show!!!"

Making peace with the news, Bethenny Frankel penned an open letter to fans of her now-cancelled talk show.
Posted on her website, the former "Real Housewife of New York" begins, "People ask me how I feel about this, so I wanted to share it with you straight up."
After sharing how she loves connecting with women and working with her staff, the host admitted that she felt restricted by the format and the "suitable for daytime television" requirement.
Comparing this gig to her reality TV time, she explains, "I felt a bit diluted, filtered and somewhat constricted. I am a free spirit."
As for what's next, Bethenny shares, "So to answer how I feel, I am relieved. What I really want right now is to be with my daughter, to do yoga, to focus on Skinnygirl and my writing, and to give myself a break. I have been striving and climbing and white-knuckling for so long that I need a rest from the grind. I'm a little over myself and wouldn't blame anyone else for being over me as well."
