Britney Spears is a big supporter of gay rights and loves her gay fans, which she has a lot of. Some in the gay community would even call her an icon.
So, not one the marginalize her big group of gay supporters, she went on 99.7 NOW FM in San Francisco and said she loves the gays because they’re adorable and hilarious.
“A lot of my hair stylists and my beauty team that I work with are gay so I hang out with gays a lot and I just think they’re adorable and hilarious.”
I don’t think this is too bad. Who wouldn’t want to be called adorable and hilarious. Though I could see how a few would be conflicted about this. It’s like when women think I’m merely “charming” and “irresistible” just because that’s all anybody ever says about me. It’s like, hey, lady, there’s a brain behind these beautiful eyes, but at the same time, thanks for the compliment.

I have some bad news, Charlize Theron’s boyfriend. Her neck will be out of commission for a while. The 38-year-old just underwent neck surgery for a broken vertebrae she suffered years ago. The injury happened on set when something hit her in the head.
“It’s been bothering her a lot lately so she had surgery to correct it and they had to go through her neck.” She hid the surgery during Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women event in Beverly Hills last Friday by wearing a white scarf to hide the small Band-Aid on her neck.
There, there. *pats boyfriend on back, pushes him down stairs*

There?s always pressure on celebrities when they face the press, and Britney Spears had a rough time while chatting with ?The Roula & Ryan Show? yesterday (October 7).
The ?Oops I Did It Again? songstress? interview on the Houston, Texas radio station actually never ended up on the air because the hosts couldn?t play by Britney?s rules.
One of the deejays called the five-minute segment ?stupid,? and ?a terrible, terrible waste? that got them in ?trouble.?
Britney also went on with another nearby Houston station and was promptly mocked by the hosts on the air afterwards.
A source at Spears? label told press, ?It?s unfortunate that one station used profanity while telling her a long story ? which was completely disrespectful.?

She?s always a welcome presence wherever she goes, and last night (October 7) Drew Barrymore paid a visit to ?The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.?
The ?Big Miracle? babe gushed about her baby girl Olive, and assured Leno that there will be more Barrymore babies in the future.
Drew noted, ?I would have another one right away if I could. I grew up as an only child, and although that really works for some people and for some parents that's the way they want to do it?I want to be the Griswolds.?
"I want the kids in the back rolling their eyes at mom and dad. I want Rusty and Audrey, theme parks and the whole nine."
As for her husband Will Kopelman and their whirlwind romance, Barrymore shared, "We got engaged and then I got pregnant. And it was like, ?Well, we could wait, or we could do this the old-fashioned way.'"
The blessed wedding occasion couldn?t have gone better, according to Drew. "It was really one of those perfect days. My husband, he works in art, and he has an incredible for design and detail, so we just thought to bring a silhouette artist. So everybody got a really cool silhouette of them and their partner or them and their kids. We had an old-fashioned real film photo booth, so everybody got to take home these old cool strips. We had food that we loved. Everybody was stuffed to the gills by the time they left, which is sort of key to a wedding."

I’m looking quite forward to seeing the sales figures. Miley’s team believes that tweet count and YouTube clicks are proof of success, but I want to know who will actually buy this album. Even those people who like Miley’s new singles are probably sick of her by now. Would you buy a concert ticket to watch her shake her thang surrounded by teddy bears? Me neither.
These are photos of Miley during her live performance on the “Today” show. Both Miley and one of her little people have their cheeks hanging out on network television. Do you enjoy cake with your breakfast? Help yourself. Miley also humped a mushroom.
Have you noticed that we’re taking mercy upon your poor eyes? We’re trying to blur as much as possible when it comes to Miley. Sadly, we can’t blur video, so I’m only linking to Miley’s two musical performances because of the ass cheek quotient.
Miley sat down with Matt Lauer for an interview. He asked if her new sexual side was “a phase” that she’ll outgrow. Miley’s response is pretty damn funny: “Well I heard when you hit 40, things start to go a little less sexual. Probably around 40. That’s when I heard people don’t have sex anymore. Probably around then. [In response to Matt's age, 55] Oh well then, you’re really definitely. not. sexual.” If it was anyone else besides Lauer, I’d think Miley was being rude, but Matt deserves a hard time. Here’s video of Miley’s full talk — fortunately, both cheeks are firmly in a chair the entire time.
Ha. Miley might be getting sexy right now. In the wake of her SNL gig, she found herself a rebound dude. Radar Online says Miley left the show’s afterparty to meet up with Theo Wenner. He’s the guy who photographed her for Rolling Stone. Theo is also the ex-boyfriend of Liv Tyler, and here’s a pic of them together in 2011.
Who knows if this is really a thing between Miley and Theo. It’s probably just a hookup. Miley also did a photoshoot and interview with The Mail. I like the shoot even if stark white backgrounds make me think of Uncle Terry:
On her short hair: “I?m trying to break out of that long hair, big boobs stereotype that women feel they have to conform to. I mean, we’re not living in the freakin’ 1950s — short hair is OK. Have people really got so little imagination? Every morning I look in the mirror and I feel like a blank canvas and I choose who I want to be. In a normal job you have to live by someone else’s rules, but I’m in a job where my work is play and I don’t have to pretend to be something I’m not.”
On humping the foam finger: “Everything I?ve ever done was how I felt at that exact moment. You have to have confidence as an entertainer and I believe — I know — that no one can be a better version of me than me. Sure, I could put on a gown and have some beauty pictures taken of me, but where’s the honesty in that?”
Getting naked is so artistic: “In my video for ‘Wrecking Ball’ I am naked and vulnerable and crying because it?s a song about how it feels when everything around you has been destroyed. I?m very confident being naked. I feel that stripping off is a way of expressing purity of emotion.”
She’s so vital & important: ‘I want to be memorable. That’s what my fans want too. Everyone’s talking about me, waiting to see what I?m doing next. And, yeah, I like things to be bright and colourful and fun, but then I make ‘Wrecking Ball.’ which is darker and grey. And then I?ll maybe go back to running around being crazy. I want to keep people guessing.”

She’s still a role model: “For me, role models are people who are good people. I stick my tongue out because straight photos are sooo boring. But even if I do stick my tongue out, that doesn’t change the quality of the human being inside. I?d rather be honest and upfront; being a good person isn?t about sitting with your legs crossed. I?m just being who I am, which is the best example I can be.”
What’s she reading now? “Fifty Shades Freed [the third book in the Fifty Shades series]. I?m more excited about the psycho ex than anything else, but all of it?s great. I also read a lot of weird yoga books.”

Miley is still mistaken about her importance relative to the world around her, right? I guess that happens when people are kissing your booty all day long. I think she genuinely doesn’t care what we say about her as long as we’re saying something. There’s something enviable in that attitude, but we’ll see how well Bangerz does in the coming weeks and months. The tour should be a major specacle to endure.

I’ll freely admit how Tori Spelling used to annoy me during the original “90210,” but it was really her awful Donna Martin character that I didn’t like. As the years have passed, I’ve warmed to Tori. She’s made her own way without the help of her family fortune. She also has to deal with the tabloids making sh-t up about her all the time. Mostly I see a woman who is trying to make a living for her family and otherwise keep to herself. As for Jennie, I think she got a raw deal from Peter Facinelli, who was probably cheating on her for years.
As a result of these two ladies’ recent media adventures, I feel more than ready to embrace them on television again — together. That’s what will happen thanks to a newly closed deal for Tori and Jennie on a new crime comedy, Mystery Girls. Deadline has the details:
ABC Family has closed a deal with Jennie Garth to join former Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Tori Spelling in the network’s comedy pilot, Mystery Girls. Both Spelling and Garth will also serve as executive producers. The project follows a former starlet (Spelling) who is roped into solving crimes with her former mystery TV show costar (Garth) when a witness to a crime will only speak to the infamous ‘Mystery Girls,’ which was the highest rated program of the 90?s. The pilot was written by Shepard Boucher from a story by him and Spelling.

Does anyone else think this show sounds like a surprisingly good idea? The show has already been picked up by ABC Family, so it will ideally be something that parents will watch with or around their kids. There’s plenty of nostalgia for the stars of the old “90210,” so I think this will go over well. Will you watch it?

As Kaiser mentioned in yesterday’s links post, Scarlett Johansson has been named Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive for the second time. She was first granted the title in 2006, and she didn’t seem thrilled at all. During that interview, ScarJo was aghast to learn about a British poll claiming she had the best female bum. Her response: “There are plenty of girls with nicer butts. There are plenty of girls who work harder for nicer butts. What about my brain?What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?”
Since then, ScarJo seemed to take great issue with being the “sexy” girl in so many movies. To her credit, she’s built up quite a career for herself. Scarlett surprised everyone by scooping up a Tony award, and she truly kicks butt as Marvel’s Black Widow. Scarlett definitely doesn’t need another “sexiest” title, but she does discuss why she accepted Esquire’s honor again. Of course she’s still got a great butt, and the journo who interviews her creepily writes, “I didn’t look at her ass. I don’t know that she wanted me to. Probably not. Surely not. In any case, I didn’t.” Weird, right? Let’s do some excerpts:
She’s preparing for a staycation: “I’m exhausted and this is my last day in the world. This is the last day, and this is the last piece of work. Then I’m taking a month-long vacation. But I’m not going anywhere, which just makes it more of a staycation. There’s luxury in being near home. When you spend a lot of time, like I do, just standing around and waiting, or being moved from place to place, every minute gets consumed by something someone else has set up for you. And it’s not like I’m always in a beautiful place wearing something gorgeous. I’ve stood around bogs wearing half a million dollars’ worth of jewelry, up to my knees in the rot, thinking how much more or less the place smelled like a sewer than it did the day before. And that is not what you’d call a problem exactly; it just wears you out. What I want to do right now is sleep late, read the paper. I’ve come to see that there’s something pretty great about having two hours to read.”
On accepting the title Sexiest Woman Alive title: “I’m the only woman to win it twice, right? You know, I gotta hustle. I’m a twenty-eight-year-old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you’re offered all become mothers. Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work–theater, producing, this thing with Esquire. Sounds pretty bloodless, I guess.”
Does she like jealous men? “Look, I’m with a Frenchman. I think jealousy comes with the territory. But I’d rather be with someone who’s a little jealous than someone who’s never jealous. There’s something a little dead fish about them. A little bit depressing. It may not make sense, but you need to feel it a little. I know, irrational, right? I didn’t think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only. I think maybe in the past I didn’t have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn’t capable of it or caring that much.”
Does she need to be wearing sunglasses inside? “I do. I have sensitive eyes. The light really gets me. There’s that. And, well, you know. I have to live behind them, because I’m a movie star.” She lifts an eyebrow, acknowledging the simple truth of it. It’s her trademark I-dare-you glance. Then, with some lip-pursing and a calculated shrug, she pinches her eye and mutters, just like some old guy making sandwiches in his kitchen apron, “Whatta you gonna do?”

Scarlett seems to have a firm hand upon her career, and she’s made some really smart moves in her choice of roles over the past few years. Who would have thought she’d have survived beyond the botched Nanny Diaries adaptation? Or beyond Woody Allen’s ScarJo trilogy of zaftig boobery. Now she’s an action star, and she’s got so many other roles in the chute too. Good for her.
This photoshoot really is quite lovely, isn’t it? It’s sensual without being too “in your face.” Esquire styled this shoot very well. Too bad about the slightly pervy journo.

You guys, Julianne Moore is 52 years old. That?s 52 years of being a beautiful, fabulous bitch. I believe Julianne is aging naturally ? she?s a pale redhead who takes care of her skin and stays out of the sun. Compare Julianne to Nicole Kidman at the age of 46 ? who would you think is older? Who looks more natural? Who looks like a Botox Monster? Yeah. Julianne always wins.
Anyway, these are photos of Julianne and Chloe Moretz (am I supposed to call her Chloe Grace Moretz?) at last night?s premiere of the Carrie remake. Chloe plays Carrie, Julianne plays the crazy mother. It?s sad to me that Julianne takes these kinds of roles, but she seems to enjoy filling out her resume with these supporting parts in bigger, more commercial movies and such. And so now a new generation will get to experience the horror of Carrie when really? there?s absolutely nothing wrong with the first movie. Sissy Spacek as Carrie is wonderful and terrifying.
Julianne?s white gown is Givenchy. Design-wise, this dress is nothing special, but Julianne does look good in it. Chloe is wearing Valentino ? I think it?s a bit fussy for someone so young, but I?m glad Chloe isn?t wandering the red carpet in a minidress and four-inch Louboutins.

Usually, John Travolta Wiglet Watch is something that I can ignore. Travolta loves his wiglets. He treasures them. He devotes a temperature-controlled room in his home for his massive wiglet collection. This is known. This is accepted. We have all accepted it. But seriously, look at this wiglet. THIS IS AMAZING.
Travolta was photographed arriving on the set of his new film, The Forger, in Boston yesterday. He was so proud to show off his new wiglet. I?ve never seen this before ? it?s like his old Welcome Back Kotter hair, but aged to perfection. I imagine Travolta sitting in his Wiglet Room, wearing nothing but leather chaps, gently stroking his wig, admiring the streaks of silver and the subtle Farrah-flip. ?Oh, yes,? Travolta whispered in his Den of Wiglets. ?You will do nicely.? In reality, though, it sort of looks like he?s wearing a dead skunk on his head. Don?t get me wrong, it?s a good quality dead skunk. But it?s still a dead skunk.
Anyway, this should serve as a warning to all of the Boston-area massage therapists ? perhaps it?s a good time to go on vacation, lest you get groped and man-handled by Skunky Wiglet over there. But! The Boston Globe says that Kelly Preston is in Boston with him too ? they took in some Red Sox games over the weekend. If Kelly is around, does Travolta still molest masseurs? I think he probably would.

Here are more photos from the Huading Awards in China over the weekend. I?ve split the photos into two groups ? I covered Nicole Kidman and Jackie Chan in another post, and this post is for Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger, Nic Cage and Quentin Tarantino. That?s a motley crew, isn?t it?
Let?s start with Avril and Chad. Avril wore a gown by Brian Rennie for Balser. Am I crazy for not hating the dress? It?s not a great dress, but it?s not bad either, and it kind of suits her without making her look like a kid dressed up in her mom?s clothes. I kind of love that Avril and Chad came to the awards show together, like they ARE Canada?s royal couple. Ha. Avril actually picked up an award at the show too, which was nice. I wanted to discuss these pics because I saw an interesting interview with Avril a few days ago and I wanted to discuss it:
Avril Lavigne is in a good place. She’s a giddy newlywed, she’s got a new, self-titled album due Nov. 5, and she’s ready for a baby ? eventually.
“I do [feel pressure to start a family] now that I’m married,” Lavigne says in an interview on The Lowdown with Diana Madison. But, she adds, “I want to be ready. I’m focusing on my music. I’m just releasing a new record. This is my priority and my baby right now.”
The “Rock N Roll” singer, 29, is also focused on her husband Chad Kroeger, of Nickelback.
“We actually have spent the majority of our relationship, like all of our time together,” she says. “They went on the road for a little bit, and I was out with Nickelback on their tour, and then he travels with me, and now that we worked together on my record, we’re together then.”
The singer enjoys collaborating with Kroeger and says the studio is a special place for them.
“He proposed in the studio so it was really romantic, and when we work together, we’re creating and we’re in the moment of making something happen, so it’s fun,” she says.
“The hours are long, but it actually just makes that process even better because he’s there with me, so I like working with him,” she says. “Plus I think he’s a really talented song writer and I respect him and his work tremendously.”

For some reason, I thought Chad had a kid or two from previous relationships, but I just looked it up and I guess he doesn?t?? So both Avril and Chad came into this marriage with NO kids? Huh. I honestly thought she would get knocked up in a hurry ? it just seemed like that kind of relationship ? so I?m surprised that she seems so ambivalent about babies. This should get very interesting, y?all.
I?m also including pics of Nic Cage and Quentin Tarantino. Bless QT?s heart, I love him and I worry about him. He?s really putting on weight, isn?t he? And Nic is convincing no one with that wiglet.

China?s film industry is booming. Sort of. No, it is. I?m comfortable saying that. China wants to be in direct competition with Bollywood and Hollywood. China wants movie stars ? they want their own movie stars and they want Western movie stars too. And considering China?s emergence as a massive market for Hollywood (and the fashion industry, etc), Hollywood stars are taking the trek to China more and more often. For example, over the weekend, Hollywood types mingled with the glitterati of China at the 10th Huading Awards held in Macao, China. I?m splitting up the photos into two posts!
In these photos, you can see the big ?gets? of the evening, Nicole Kidman and Jackie Chan. It was sort of like Jackie was Nicole?s escort, which is kind of sweet and kind of bizarre. The Huading Awards are supposed to be like the equivalent of the Oscars, only the awards go to not just movies but music and sports figures too. So? it?s probably more like the Brit Awards, I?m thinking.
For the big show, Nicole wore this black silk Prada gown which? it?s a very striking gown. I would have liked it more if it was just a solid black gown with that crazy/incredible halter, and then maybe a thick wrap with black silk on one side and the orange blossom fabric on the other side? That would have amazing. As it is, Nicole has got some weird little wrist things and the dress just seems at odds with itself. Also: For the love of God, Nicole got some extra Botox on top of her normal stuff, so she looks extra-waxy and frozen here. And her bolt-ons are incredibly noticeable in this dress.
